The topic is not about believing the STORY, but rather contributing if you have anything to say. About this particular story there is nothing about it to say it's not real... Thousands of people travel home every year to marry girls they have never met before.. I see it happen every time, lots of these marriages end up in divorce cos the people don't really know each other and the guys might not tell the girls the true situation of things here so when they come over, the challenges can even be reason for divorce..

My best friend met a guy three months ago and I must confess the relationship is heaven made on earth and I have never seen her so happy and glowing but yesterday she came to me crying that she wants to call the relationship off course the guy has bluntly refused to tell her his surname and age. She has begged, threatened and even walked out for a while but the guy came to beg but still refused to tell her his name and surname. I told her to forget and enjoy her happiness but she is scared that the guy might be up to something for hiding such an important information. Should she work out or just wait till he opens his mouth to tell her,but she already made the mistake of sleeping with him.

How can a three months old relationship be heaven on earth? This is not LOVE, it is called infatuation and both parties are allowed to enjoy this but unfortunately something has already come in between this teenage puppy love (The guy not telling his age)

It takes two people taking out their clothes and having sex (Unprotected).. Especially in this age and time, more than 95% of people can prevent getting pregnant if they wish..

This just breaks my heart to pieces! The average Nigerian has his or her own personal crises to deal with... obvious reason why nobody even bother responding... Exactly my point we try to make excuses for people we like or admire. Both of us were not there and the news says CHOKE, so let's leave it at that until we hear otherwise. Personally I feel we should try to be in control of our emotions especially when it comes to teenagers.. after all if we raise them differently, they might turn out different.. Anyway I pray he goes for anger management later... I don't believe in beating or hitting kids cause all the beating we received as kids in Nigeria never translated to anything... Nigeria is not any better even when kids are raised with iron hand. Communication and showing love is the key, not beating. Thats how my Nigerian friends are raising their kids here (Its working and they are adorable)that's how I have started raising mine.

My question to some ladies is why do you allow somebody treat you like a piece of rag? From her interview it's obvious she doesn't even know the guy, yet she went ahead to marry him. A lot of this could be avoided if there are true relationship between Parents and their kids where there is open communication. In Nigeria the answer to everything is BEAT! BEAT! BEAT! We even saw that in a Church recently when a girl was Slapped by an Adult! Somehow we have accepted that BEATING and putting fear on the kids would solve all problems even when we see that it's not working. Teenage pregnancy would be reduced drastically if Parents spend time communicating with their Children. Even young girls that are rapped or molested by adult dare not tell their parents, WHY??
And what about guys sleeping without condom in this age and time with all sort of deceases flying around? Having said these, if a Teenage child is pregnant, it is not only tough for the parent but also for the child too, so she needs all the support she can get from the parents not Beating, Non stop Insult and sending her away... It just don't make sense no matter how you look at it. I DON'T BELIEVE IN ABORTION! Until you can create life don't ever think of taking one... Forget all these big grammar about pro life/pro choice..when life starts..etc When you try to start rationalizing certain things in life, it also shows that deep inside you are not 100% convinced about your take on it. Once again communication and good relationship between parents and kids is a sure way of reducing teenage pregnancy.

Like you Rightly said we all have choices to make as long as we don't make the ones we will spend the rest of our life regretting! That is why before you get married you have to spend some good time truly knowing each other and discuss how you would handle difficult situations... Your husband has the mind set of "I married you and not the other way" I dont think such mind sets can be changed over night.. If he sees it as a taboo to move with his wife, then you have a lot of explanations to do so he understands he is not just following his wife but for the betterment of the family and if he doesn't understand, will that be enough reason to throw away the marriage? ..Then again it will depend on how solid the marriage is in the first place?... But are there any guarantee that the next marriage or relationship will be better than this one? So many things to think about when we make difficult decisions ... Bless

1.Not true! Germany, The Netherlands, United States has done series of Documentary on Nollywood, I dont think they would spend money doing those Documentaries if they dont respect our movies. By the way I was part of one of the Documentaries, I went to Nigeria with the Dutch people so I know first hand about this. Nollywood movies caught the eyes of the western world because of the unique style we shoot, tell our stories and wrap up in 10days..etc The curiosity with this is the unconventional ways we do our movie and at the end manage to tell a story from beginning to end

2.Have you seen The Figurine? (Trailer of ) Last Flight To Abuja...etc it shows Nollywood has come of age and it's entering the second phase ... I understand the point you are trying to drive at though but am just saying your take on this is not necessarily correct. Bless
