NO LONG TIN: I've always believd in payin tithes and nothin go change my mind because i believe its between me and God.Nothing wrong in following your hearts conviction.... But using the Pharisees to buttress your point? The same people that were called "Brood of Vipers"? These people are more into "Works" and there was never any good thing said about them, so I find it rather strange that you use them to buttress your point... As a Christian I believe one should be more concerned about the teachings and footsteps of Christ and Tithe is not part of it... Now since Jesus never asked anybody to pay Tithe, then why are people so worried or concerned about it?...Jesus has fulfilled the law and that is it! The reason why every Dick, Tom, Harry, Native Doctor, Alfa, Mami-water is opening a Church today is because of Tithe! They have all seen that Church is the fastest growing business where people don't ask questions or use their Brains but obey because they wear a title called "Pastor or Prophet"... Before the late Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa helped Spred Pentecostal Church in Nigeria Years ago, you dont really hear anything like Tithe, you dont see one street with 50 Churches, but today everybody is getting his or her hustling on via Church business... If people stop paying Tithe today, more than half the churches will fold up... I hear that Native Doctors no longer have Clients like they use to have and they are now opening churches cos its the thriving business... Do you notice that all these Mega Churches are run like Family business? The people pay Tithe and Offerings and the GO, Bishop or Pastor runs everything like a private business... The Luxury, Cars, Jets, Private Universities ... the people whose money funded al these, how do they benefit from it? They want to compete with Dangote, Bill Gate, Warren Buffet... while the majority of people worship them, and hope that one day, they too will be rich... But you will never find a Rich person amongst Jesus and his disciples ...even Paul that was supposed to be a very important man, gave it all up to serve and win souls for Christ... God never created a system that will make his Pastors, Prophets rich from people's tithes and offerings... His major job for them is to save souls and not enrich themselves... absalom11: It may seem like a kidding question but lets air our views; CAN YOU EAT FOOD WITHOUT MEAT?Maybe it has to do with how we were raised in Nigeria.... In most cases Meat is on the main dish as something special, Some parents even teach their kids to first finish the main food before eating the Meat, Fish, Egg ...etc .... But over here, Meat, Fish..etc is just food... So I can eat just fish and some vegetables... Or eat some scramble some eggs and am done... Same way I can eat any dish without Meat as it is just part of a food that I might not be in the mood to eat... Actually lots of Kids here dont even like Meat and some Nigerian parents worry that their kids eat and without touching the Meat, Fish or Eggs.... Yes depending on what Meat/Fish means to you, so many people can eat their main dish without these.... I remember one guy telling me that whenever he visits Italy, his peeps there serve him with so much Meat as if the world is coming to an end and he hates it so much...lol Bless |

Many Christians are baffled by the fact that the Bible tells us that Adam and Eve had only three sons, Cain, Abel and Seth. It then goes on to say that Cain murdered Abel and “…went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.” (Gen 4:16) In Nod he not only found a wife but built a city, which presumably he did not do alone. “…and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch”. (Gen 4:17). Furthermore Adam and Eve did not give birth to Seth until after Cain murdered Abel and was banished to Nod. (Gen 4:25). One of the main reasons this question perplexes most people is because they do not actually read the words of the text and assume that Cain found his wife in the land of Nod. But read the text again! "And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch." (Genesis 4:16-17).The Bible doesn't say that Cain found his wife in Nod. It says that he went to Nod and then “knew” his wife. . The word ‘knew’, means that Cain had sexual relations with his wife, who he could have been already married to when he left for Nod. (The word ‘knew’ is only used in some translations. The New American Standard Bible says “And Cain had relations with his wife…”) So… Where did Cain get his wife? The Bible does tell us "after Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years," and it also tells us that "he had other sons and daughters." (Genesis 5:4 ). In fact, the genealogy in Genesis 5 records that every descendant of Adam down to Lamech had "other sons and daughters," some born to men who were on the wrong side of 180 years. People up to this point in Biblical history had very long life spans thereby substantially increasing their childbearing years, which means there could have been a out-and-out population explosion in a relatively short period of time. If Eve’s childbearing years were about 500 and they had their first child at about the age of 50 and another child every five years, it is not outside the realm of possibility that he had sisters from whom he picked a wife even before he left. However had he waited to marry until he was about 200 years old, he probably had more than a few women to choose from, some of whom could have left for Nod before he did. In fact the world's population could have approached a few billion by the time of Adam's death at the age of approximately 900, and at least 120,000 people could have been alive on earth within only a few hundred years. The math is simple…. Cain Built a City? The Bible does not mention how old Cain was when he left for Nod nor how old he was when he started to build the city. Had Cain waited until he was 400 years old before starting his city he could have had several thousand people to help him. Additionally we should bear in mind that in the modern world we automatically associate the word ‘city’ with a huge bustling metropolis. However the Hebrew word translated as ‘city’ is not necessarily even similar to a ‘city’ of today. The word meant a "walled town" or a protected encampment (Strong's Concordance: "city, town, a place guarded by waking or a watch in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post)."  Inter-Family Marriage? God’s laws at the time condemned sexual relations between children and their parents but said nothing about inter-marriage between brother and sister, which apparently did not bear any evil consequences. (Abraham married his half sister.) The more distantly related parents are, the more likely it is that they will have different genetic disorders. Children, inheriting one set of genes from each parent, are likely to end up with pairs of genes containing a maximum of one bad gene in each pair. The good gene tends to override the bad so that a deformity (a serious one, anyway) does not occur. However, the more closely related two people are, the more likely it is that they will have similar genetic problems, since these have been inherited from the same parents. Therefore, a brother and a sister are more likely to have similar problems in their genes. A child of a union between such siblings could inherit the same bad gene on the same gene pair from both, resulting in two bad copies of the gene and serious defects. In the time of Adam and Eve the genetic pool was pristine and close marriages didn’t pose the problem they do today. However by the time of Moses (a few thousand years later), degenerative mistakes would have built up in the human race to such an extent that it was necessary for God to forbid close relative marriages, which makes perfect biological sense. Also, there were plenty of people on the earth by then, and there was no reason for close relations to marry.) |

almasterpiece: we are Catholics, and understand the reason why our mother should be venerated. HAIL MARY is not a Prayer! It is a greeting of an Angel to Mary, when he was delivering the good news to her that she would give birth to Christ. Thousands of years later, somebody wrote another part (Pray for us Sinners now and at the hour of death) now they joined Angel Gabriel s greetings to this part and then people call it prayers and started reciting it! Once you think deep about the very first part and realize it is a greeting, Angel Gabriel was looking straight at Mary when he greeted her with these... Read the BIBLE, she went to give Sin offering...Please do not let us Mix the Traditions of Humans with the Truth of God! Mary was an ordinary Jewish lady, that God choose to do a Marvelous thing. (She gave birth to our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ) And for that she is called BLESSED AMONG-ST WOMEN! But this doesn't make her Divine, she was still a mortal.. After doing this great act, she lived a normal life with her husband (Joseph) and had other Children. Mary should be seen as GOD intends for her to be seen and not as some men in the pasts wants us to see her. The term "MOTHER OF GOD" is very very wrong as God has no mother... Yes she gave birth to Christ and Yes Christ is the Incarnation of GOD on earth, but the same Christ Created the world and everything in it, making that Term (Mother of God) invalid... This is the reason Christ never for once addressed Mary as Mother! He called her Woman and not Mother! As we go through life, we must never fall in Love with Religion and the Traditions of men, because the traditions of men are not solid truths, it changes with time. Man remains man and can never be elevated to being Divine.,.. but not to Nigerians, Once you say something about Pastors all the worshipers and Rambos rush out with "Dont touch God's anointed" "Don't Judge" and all that... Yet the same people just finished judging another person ... Whether Ese is saying the Truth or not is not the bone of contention here, but rather how people Judge, Insult and call her all sorts of names because a Pastor is involved... A lot of these same people didn't even read her story before passing Judgment, WHY? Because she dare talk negative about one of the gods they worship.. Keep on worshiping these Men! Keep on Fighting for them! Keep on Enriching them, after all they promise you that GOD ALMIGHTY will become a Magician for your sake and give you your hearts desires.. Well these predictions have been going on for so many years and all I see are these Mini gods and their family getting Richer and enjoying life, while the majority of Nigerians are wallowing in poverty! First of all there is nothing like "SAME SEXX MARRIAGE" as far as am concerned. To me Marriage is a union between male and female.. Having said that, when ever I see people get too worried about gay and their business, i begin to suspect them. Time and time again, we have seen so many people that are against gays finally turn out to be gay themselves... Now please tell me What is my business about how two grown ups decide to live their lives? How does that translates to food on the table? Jobs? Good Roads Electricity and Health care! The lazy and clueless government finally got it right this time! Give Nigerians a Bait they are sure they would bite (Condemn and Persecute Gay people) And get them knocking their heads all over the place, while they the government return back to their looting, stealing and sleeping without nothing to show for their years in government! The sad part of this madness is the same people making these laws are engaged in gay relationships, Orgies with young Teenage girls and they come out to yarn Rubbish instead of fulfilling their campaign promises.
