PoliticsRe: Who Is Afraid Of Buhari? by leo1234(m): 12:16pm On Oct 02, 2014
obongproff: Well, I may not be smart to u but dats none of my business.

U see, being a president for Buhari has two major options:
(a) Fight corruption for 4yrs and afta 4yrs our GDP remains $590b or we just manage hit $600b.

(b) Create over 2 million jobs in 4yrs and our GDP rises to like $800b while our GDP per capital income increases also. Unfortunately, he can only achieve d first one becos d general sed if we vote for him he will fight corruption and secure nigeria...cos he has no idea on how to improve nigeria.

Fighting poverty is more important dan fighting corruption. D only economic benefit of fighting corruption is minimising wastes but it doesnt create more wealth. What we nid is creation of more wealth with even distribution not just minimising wastes.

Buhari does not hav sound economic or technical ideas. He's like d strict maths teacher who disciplines his students but more dan 90% of his students cant get above a C in maths. But den der is a rascal teacher, who has even been accused of abusing one of his students. He may be a rascal but all his students love maths and are doing well, none of his students can fail a maths test and many of his students score more dan a C in maths on a regular basis. In fact if his students had a competition with d students or Mr. Discipline day wd beat dem hands down. Now who is a beta maths teacher between dis two? Mr. Rascal or Mr. Discipline? Now of wot use is disciplining a student when u cant make d student get beta grades?

Assuming der are two people vying for a managerial position in my firm. Mr. A is good at reducing running costs cos he believes company can make more money by spending less. And Mr. B is good at meeting targets and making huge profits for d company. But he believes in promo, promo, promo which involves partying and a lot of spending. Who do u think I wd employ? If u tot I wd employ Mr. A sori ur stupid. Its Mr. B all d way! Let him spend more money so long as d company makes much more in return.

Buhari is Mr. Discipline and dat makes him stand out. But to me discipline without overall improvement is bullshit. When Buhari comes up with an idea to create at least 1 million jobs, den I can endorse him but till den he can take his old Mr. Discipline
ass and go hug kainji dam. cheesy

If I was d president of dis nation, I will make Buhari the director general and national overall chairman, and ceo of ICPC and EFCC plus Minister of Defence. Dat way he can focus on fighting corruption and securing naija while I focus on creating more jobs. cheesy
I like ur concept but indiscipline should not be encouraged because it destroys the future.

Nairaland GeneralBoko Haram’s ‘ICT Expert’ Arrested, Opens Up On Links With You-tube by leo1234(op): 10:17pm On Sep 30, 2014
By KINGSLEY OMONOBI-ABUJA.
Aftermath of another heavy defeat of Boko Haram
terrorists who Vanguard gathered launched
another attack weekend on Konduga in a bid to
reclaim the dead body of the impostor of
Abubakar Shekau, (Mohammed Bashir), the
military has arrested a foreign computer expert
who is said to be behind the several video shots
sent to online media organization and foreign
media houses.
He was said to have been arrested with some
sophisticated equipment and copies of some of
the videos the terrorists had sent to online media
houses on their escapades including that of the
abducted Chibok girls, iy was leant.
Military sources disclosed that the computer
analyst who is currently being interrogated was
responsible for configuring computer images
website and internet accesses that enables the
group fight media and psychological operations.
Sources said he was arrested after a shootout
when a group of the sect members mobilized and
attacked Konduga with a view to recovering the
body of the impostor for burial in a site they
would later earmark as their shrine.
Vanguard further gathered that the foreigner has
made shocking confessional statements about the
terrorist’s plans and modus operandi as well as
their backers that would aid the troop’s fast track
the routing of the Boko Haram insurgency.
“We have made a very big break through; the
computer analyst is opening up and has made
very big revelations on the modus operandi of the
sect”.
“We also discovered that the ICT expert is the
back bone of the signals and communication links
of late impersonator, Mohammed Bashir who
always poses as Abubakar Shekau, whenever he
is talking on “U” tube”.
With the breakthrough, the military is said to be
better informed on how the Impostor of Shekau
was able to reach out to the world and claim
victory over Nigerian troops after several attacks.
While confirming that there is a successor crisis
in the camp of the terrorists resulting from the
death of most of their commanders by troops in
Konduga, Vanguard learnt that some terrorists are
yet to be disarmed because they were yet to
come to terms that their erstwhile leader, Shakau
has been killed.

TravelRe: On Nigerians And The 'must Travel Mentality' by leo1234(m):
safarigirl: which politician spoilt Nigeria? It's foolish Nigerians that spoilt and are still spoiling Nigeria.

You should all be ashamed that less than 3% of Nigerians have put 97% of us in bondage. Really, it's pathetic.

Look at this 4,000 NYSC payment, do you realise if everyone agrees not to pay a dime, they'll cancel that thing? But no, Nigerians can sabotage themselves, a bunch of eediots will go and pay and the rest will have to follow suuite.

When that immigration stampede happened, there were enough people in the Abuja centre to march to aso rock and begin a revolution, but what happened? They all went home and thanked God they were alive to go on another job search tomorrow.

A courageous journalist exposed TB Joshua's condemnable act of bribery and Nigerians condemned the fellow and made shameful, eediotic excuses for the TB Joshua fellow, in a sane country, that man ought to be in jail facing murder and man-slaughter charges, not getting condolences from your president

The problem with Nigeria is it's people, the same people that want to run away and reap where they didn't sow- enjoy the benefits of good governance where the people demanded it, and until you all demand good governance, you'll continue to wallow in your self-pity and run away.

Like Mandela said "the leaders are a reflection of their people"
One reasonable Nigerian

Sometimes I don't blame the poor masses.
Imagine a country where u can't survive without money.
Any rich man can ask the police to imprison a poor guy and they will gladly do that. If u take any move the wrath of law will be upon u because u are a no body.
Just look at the 12 soldiers that were sentenced to death because they protested against a corrupt GOC. Where was the law when those soldiers were complaining about their working conditions. Today the GOC is free and living happily.

Sanchez01: Lol... You sure have a point and I must confess that your points are well placed. However, I must point out to you that I have always wanted to practice objective journalism which seems to be a mirage in our beloved country. I rounded off my first degree in June. I guess you understand that the financial aspect is not there yet. The argument here is not whether the West is not better than Nigeria; but that running to the West should not be the last resort, particularly when such persons have little or no educational background cum skills to help them scale through.
Goodnight smiley
The truth is that Nigeria has really gone bad. There are different set of laws for the poor and the rich. Everything in Nigeria is all about money, u can't survive without money in Nigeria.
Many people prefer to be prisoners in the west than to be free in Nigeria embarassed

You people from the north will never learn.
So the northerners in the east came for business while the igbos in the north came to beg right huh
Even with ur level of education(at least u can read & write) u still reason like this.
You people from the north do things without thinking of the consequences. Violence can never bring development to the north.
If not for violence and wickedness places like jos should be competing with cross river or even Dubai in terms of tourism.

Leerikz: ..I'm painting the picture of the Northern child.. Sometimes people need to ask themselves the right questions and not go about putting blame on factors that will never change.. I did not in anyway say that terrorism was the solution to the plight of the Northern child.. I only thought of the grave circumstances that have lead to this boko haram menace..
The truth is that people in the north know the cause of their problems but had refused to address them. Till the northerners learn how to tolerate other people's believe their problems will remain with them.
Only God knows what those imams and malams teach those innocent children in the north.
Dubai is a centre for tourism today because they were able to tolerate other people's belief.

Article 7 of the UAE's Provisional Constitution
declares Islam the official state religion of the
UAE. The government subsidises almost 95%
of mosques and employs all Imams ;
approximately 5% of mosques are entirely
private, and several large mosques have large
private endowments. [82] All mosques in Dubai
are managed by the Government of Dubai, and
all Imams are also appointed by the
Government. Any Imam caught preaching
racial or religious hatred or caught promoting
Islamic extremism is usually jailed and
deported. [83]
Dubai also has large Christian, Hindu , Sikh ,
Bahá'í , Buddhist and other religious
communities residing in the city. [84] Non-
Muslim groups can own their own houses of
worship, where they can practice their religion
freely, by requesting a land grant and
permission to build a compound. Groups that
do not have their own buildings must use the
facilities of other religious organisations or
worship in private homes. [85] Non-Muslim
religious groups are permitted to advertise
group functions openly and distribute various
religious literature; however, outright
proselytising is strictly prohibited under
penalty of criminal prosecution, imprisonment,
and deportation for engaging in behaviour
offensive to Islam. [82] Strict prohibition
extends to small Muslim groups such as the
Ahmadiyya .

safarigirl: there's no point getting married to a man that doesn't care for a life with you. Men rarely ever settle for less so women shouldn't either
Who told you men rarely ever settle for less huh
If that's the case many people wouldn't had married in the first place.
Every man likes a beautiful woman but the ugly ones are getting married to even handsome men.
Just be liberal with ur life because that which is your priority today will mean nothing to u tomorrow.

Op the truth is that u still live in a world of fantasy.
My dear when it comes to marriage just ask God for direction.
You may eventually get the man of ur dreams but always remember to ask urself if u are the kind of woman the man dreams of too.
Many marriages that appear perfect to world is even worst than what u think of.
Happy Sunday.
