Politics › Re: FG, States Are Considering The Creation Of State Police by LeopardX: 5:50pm On Feb 15, 2024 |
Asidy: In today's Nigeria, when it comes to the issues of Insecurities (Banditry), most of the police men are equals to or less than the civilians. Is like they are not going under any training before they are employed. The only thing they can do best is collecting bribes on the roads or when civil case is report to them.
Without proper training, equipment and strong measures to brought the corrupt ones to the book even if L.G police will be created, Nigerian police can't tackles any Insecurities. In my own opinion, the police is even more effective against the bandits than the army. |
Business › Re: What exactly Is The Benefit Of Floating The Naira? by LeopardX: 9:28am On Feb 14, 2024 |
malali: Cheaper Exports: When the Naira is devalued, it becomes less valuable compared to other currencies. This makes Nigerian products cheaper for people in other countries. Think of it like selling your cool toy cars to friends abroad at a lower price. More exports mean more money flowing into Nigeria!
Expensive Imports: On the flip side, devaluation makes foreign toys (imports) more expensive for you. Imagine your favorite video games suddenly costing more because they’re imported. This encourages people to buy local toys instead.
Boosting Local Industries: When local toys (goods and services) become cheaper for foreigners, it helps Nigerian businesses grow. They can sell more, hire more people, and contribute to the economy.
Tourism Advantage: Devaluation makes Nigeria an attractive travel destination. Foreign tourists find it cheaper to visit, explore, and spend money here. Imagine more tourists enjoying Nigerian culture, food, and music!
Investment Inflow: Investors like to put their money where it grows. Devaluation encourages foreign investors to set up factories, offices, and businesses in Nigeria. This creates jobs and stimulates economic growth.
Balance of Payments: Devaluation can improve Nigeria’s balance of payments. It’s like keeping track of how much money comes in (exports, investments) versus how much goes out (imports, debt payments). A positive balance is good!
Inflation: Devaluation can lead to higher prices for everyday items (inflation). Imagine your pocket money buying fewer candies because prices went up. But controlled inflation can be healthy for the economy.
Reducing Debt Burden: Nigeria owes money to other countries (national debt). Devaluation makes it easier to repay those loans because the Naira is worth less. It’s like paying back a smaller amount.
Competitiveness: Devaluation makes Nigerian businesses compete better globally. Just like you try to win in video game tournaments, our economy competes with other countries. A cheaper Naira gives us an edge!
Learning Opportunity: Finally, understanding devaluation teaches us about economics. It’s like leveling up in your favorite game. By knowing how money works, we can make smarter decisions for Nigeria’s future! .....but if you don't fight corruption which is the biggest elephant in the room, all these will amount to nothing. |

sslcrypt: Blame yourselves, you use sentiment to elect fools that end up utilize soldiers for their protection and safety.
A soldier have no business in any civil structure but the fools you guys elect via sentiment are so scared of the people trained to protect them that they have to utilize soldiers.
Soldiers are the ones you can have total trust in because you can be rest assured when robbers or thugs are terrorizing your neighborhood soldiers won't seat idle.
Every soldier have earned that badge and uniform, they are specifically trained to be a Killing machine. The mindset of every man serving is broken, destroyed and reconstructed. So you won't expect them to tolerate nonsense especially when there's lack of discipline.
Tell your useless politicians to make your community work so that there will be less criminals, so that there won't be need soldiers. So the guy being tortured is a criminal? |
Politics › Re: Soldiers Who Tortured Civilians In Rivers State Have Been Arrested by LeopardX: 10:23am On Jan 11, 2024 |
themanderon: The Nigerian Army needs a total reorientation as I have always said. The notion of calling civilians bloody civilians is a culture carried on from the military era and should be stopped. The army is meant to protect civilians and not torture them except they are dealing with bandits and terrorists. The soldiers may have been contracted by one useless or connected big man/woman somewhere to beat up the guy. And as the mumu people that they are, they complied. |

salbis: Removing government influence, this man would have been an average businessman.
Congratulations to him, though. Removing government's influence, only few people would be billionaires in the world today, not just Nigeria. When Jack Ma of China criticized the Chinese government's handling of the corona virus pandemic, they treated his Bleep up and he's not the richest man in China/Asia anymore. Cut Dangote some slack. He had government support, yes. But why him? Is he the only business man in the north? Also there is no 'billionaire' or 'millionaire' (in dollars) anywhere in Nigeria, that had no government support in one way or another. |

Fuckingmallam45: It's the turn of a Muslim, Ambode knows this as well. That's how it's being done here I don't mind Gbaja becoming Lagos governor, but ordinarily if we are to go by religion, a Christian governor has to go for one more term to make it 16 years apiece. Tinubu (Muslim) - 8 years Fashola (Muslim) - 8 years Ambode (Christian) - 4 years Sanwo-olu (Christian) - 8 years But again, I don't mind Gbaja becoming governor. He seems to be a performer and people will vote for him. |

I believe the former Lagos Head of service, who was transferred to Abuja to become Tinubu's principal private secretary (Muri Okunola), will then replace him (Gbaja) as chief of staff to Tinubu. I don't blame you, you have never seen a refinery in your life before, so Dangote refinery is a big deal to you. Refineries have been in PH since the 70's. And how did I talk down on Rivers?
