Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe was reportedly caught up in a fist fight with socialite, Omolara Olukotun popularly known as Larrit in a party in Lagos.

The brawl took place on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the party organized by popular businesswoman, Remmy Gold, who gathered family and friends for the launch of her new plaza located in Lekki axis of Lagos.

The event had several movie stars and socialites in attendance including Iyabo Ojo, Aigbe, Eniola Ajao and Bimbo Thomas.

However, commotion started after Aigbe and Larrit got into a heated argument.

It didn’t take long before Larrit threw a bottle at the actress and the two immediately got physical with each other.

Luckily, the altercation was controlled by the intervention of the other guests who prevented the women from causing bodily harm on each other

Aigbe was later seen in a video leaving the party, with the assistance of other guests.

Although, it remains unclear why the women got into a fight, a popular blogger has alleged that the two women got into a fight over a romantic relationship with a man.

Aigbe is currently married to media mogul, Kazim Adeoti.

The women are yet to release any statements addressing the ugly incident.

After teasing us for months with updates of renewal from both the showrunner and execs, Netflix has officially announced that a Squid Game sequel will be arriving soon.

The streaming service released a teaser for the announcement that read:

“It took 12 years to bring the first season of ‘Squid Game’ to life last year. But it took 12 days for ‘Squid Game’ to become the most popular Netflix series ever,” reads the statement from director Hwang. “As the writer, director and producer of ‘Squid Game,’ a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show.”

Squid Game season 1 was released on September 2021 and quickly became the streaming service’s biggest TV show title ever, logging 1.65 billion hours of viewing in the first four weeks of its release.

There’s no official release date yet, but we can expect Squid Game season 2 anytime between 2023 to 2024.

Precious, a Ugandan took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, June 11, where she shared her side of the story.

According to her, they only met last year and Emmanuel told her that he was single.

“Emmanuel and I are just friends. He met me in Dubai where all this happened. I never knew he was in a relationship. He told me he was single,” she wrote.

Liquorose explained in the seventh episode that she had waited wfifteen minutes to be let into Emmanuel’s room where she met the masked lady.

This was later followed by a hearty conversation where he admitted to not being ready to be in a committed relationship.

Contrary to the dancer’s claim, Emmanuel shared that he was asleep when she began knocking on his hotel room door.

It took a while to open the door because he did not know how she would have reacted to the situation and he didn’t bother to explain.

The former love birds finally revealed that they are no longer together and won’t remain friends.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie is celebrating the latest addition to his family, Star Dike as he turns a year old today.

The movie took to his Instagram page to share photos of his son, captioning the post with a heartfelt message.

“Happy 1st birthday to the newest member of the Yul Edochie Squad, my son @stardikeyuledochie. You shall be 10 times greater than your father. May God be with you always. Daddy loves you.” he wrote.

It would be recalled that the actor unveiled his second wife and son on social media in April 2022.

The music video for Legalize by Mr Eazi has finally premiered.

Mr Eazi released the first single Legalize off his upcoming untitled album on June 9. “Legalize” arrives with a stunning visual shot in the beautiful city of Venice, Italy and directed by Federico Mazzarisi.

Nigerian actress, Ivie Okujaye has welcomed another child with her hubby, Ezie Egboh.

Taking to her Instagram page to share the news, the movie star recounted her labour experience.

King of Thieves, the Yoruba language Nollywood epic saga recently crossed the N300 million milestone, and it looks to soon debut on Amazon Prime Video.

In an exclusive interview with SHOCK NG, Producer Niyi Akinmolayan confirms that King of Thieves would begin streaming on Amazon prime video after its theatrical run. This licensing deal is embedded in the Anthill output deal, which was signed early this year that would see Nollywood titles produced by the studio have a home after its exhibition window expires.

No date of the debut has been confirmed yet.

The Femi Adebayo Salami-produced film is now officially recognized as the 5th highest-grossing Nollywood film. It is the first film in an indigenous language to hit the milestone.

Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, has slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) party for using his song at the ongoing presidential primary without his permission.

The ruling party’s presidential primaries is currently underway at Eagle Square in Abuja.

However, during a solidarity appearance by a group of Nigerian entertainers, including Shina Peters and Danfo Drivers, Dakolo’s song, “Great Nation” was played as the musicians waved the Nigeria flag.

The 41-year-old reacting to this, took to his Twitter page to called out the convention organizers.

“Why Use an Artist Song without their permission in a rally or campaign. The things people get away with in this Country called Nigeria. Actually this is the second time.” he wrote.


This is coming weeks after Dakolo was dragged by Nigerians for performing at the presidential declaration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku officially declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election under the umbrella PDP on March 23.

At the event, Dakolo had thrilled guests with a colourful performance of ‘Great Nation’, his hit song.

The singer had also fired back at Nigerians then, who criticized him for performing at the presidential declaration.

It was the third episode of the Big Brother Naija ”Shine Ya Eye” reunion and it came with a number of unresolved issues. Angel and Maria continued their squabble from a previous episode, Arin and Nini tabled out an unresolved beef while Angel and Boma reconciled their differences.

Angel vs Maria
Angel revisited some old wounds as she brought up Maria’s 2021 married man scandal. The duo resulted in awful name calling and Angel referring to Maria as a “patriarchal princess”

“You’re a patriarchy princess. You didn’t think of that one when you were f**king married man.” Angel said.

Maria in her response, threatened to expose some of Angel’s dirty secrets from a certain trip to Dubai.

“Is that what you want to bring up here? Don’t even allow me bring up all the things you did in Dubai,” she replied.

Arin vs Nini
To the surprise of many viewers, the seemed to be an unresolved beef between former house bestfriends, Nini and Arin. It was only brought to light after Angel made a statement regarding their friendship.

The ladies left fans even more astonished when they revealed the weren’t in talking terms because of a comment Arin’s social media handler left on Cross’ page during his fight with Nini back in the show.

The duo went at each other for most of the show, with Arim concluding that Nini did not give off a warm reception post show because she didn’t “rate” her.


Boma vs Angel
This was a much awaited clash as their fight back in the show went viral on social media.
It all stemmed from Boma confronting Angel for labelling him a “kiss and tell”. Angel refuted the claims saying she only listened in to a conversation and in her opinion, thought Boma was out of place with his hurtful words.
Although they both had few minutes of spotlight towards the end of the show, they settled their clash with Boma apologizing.

Accelerate TV has released the official trailer for their next original TV show titled Just Friends. It’s a sitcom directed by Victor Sanchez Aghahowa (Enakhe) and produced by Nne Nlemadim. It stars Chy Nwakanma as Mari, Charles Etubiebi as Jay, Martha Ehinome as Sammy, Toluca Wumi as Bola, and Lucy Ameh as Toju.

The second episode of the reunion saw Shine Ya Eye housemates, Angel and Maria settle some old scores.

It begun with the show’s host, Ebuka asking about a certain conversation had in the executive lounge where Maria, Nini and Peace talked about Angel.

The conversation saw the ladies chastise Angel over her behaviour with guys in the house.

Maria in her defense insisted that everything she said about Angel was her opinion of her whilst they were in the house.

This eventually led to a heated argument between the duo and an exchange of words with the absence of an apology.

The Chocolate City Music star dropped his debut album “Sex Over Love” in 2021. The album was received kindly by spectators, who praised it largely for its diversity.

In February this year, Blaqbonez organised a concert themed ‘Breaking The Yoke Of Love,’ as he continued his anti-love crusade. He was largely responsible for curating the show and solely handled all the PR for the marketing.

On Go Home, Blaqbonez resumes his playboy antics, asking the ladies to stop playing wife while still only just dating, and ending it with the catchy hook “go home.”

Simi released her fourth solo album “To Be Honest” or simply “TBH” on June 3. The album contains 11 tracks with two main features; Adekunle Gold on “Balance” and Fave on “Loyal.”

However, Simi and Adekunle Gold’s daughter Deja also made a minor appearance in the album’s 7th track “Easy.”

TBH is Simi’s a follow up to 2020’s EP Relentless II.

Stranger Things 4 has broken Netflix’s viewership record to become the streamer’s most-viewed English Language series, a record previously held by Bridgerton.

The latest season of the Sci-Fi show created by The Duffer Brothers arrives 3 years since the last one and it’s been getting raving reviews from fans and critics alike.

According to Netflix’s newly released Top 10 rankings, Stranger Things 4 raked up an impressive view-time of 287 million hours during the week of May 23-30, landing in the # 1 position. This means it hit that milestone under just three days as the season began streaming on May 27.

The previous three seasons also made it to various positions in the recent Top 10 ranking.

Vol. 2 of Stranger Things 4 is expected to arrive on Netflix on July 1, 2022. The show has also been renewed for a fifth and final season.

Ifan Micahel took to his Instagram handle to break the news that his 2017 film Lotanna is one of the latest Nollywood titles to join the growing rank on Amazon Prime Video.

Lotanna is a period piece story about a young man (Chris Okagbue), who discovers that he has to offset a huge debt owed by his father before his sudden death, to a fearful loan shark called Don Cleff. Aided by an unbreakable resolve to succeed, his friends and his musical talent, he must find a way to solve this unfairly inherited problem or die trying.

About the streaming premiere, the filmmaker said:

“It is with great pleasure that I announce my foray into the filmmaking space, Lotanna, would be streaming on Amazon Prime from tomorrow, June 1st.

“Lotanna is easily the most special project I’ve ever embarked on for reasons too many to mention and it is my proudest work till date.

“Please endeavor to watch it when you can to see my little beginnings and sweat and labour of my esteemed cast and crew members.”

Lotanna was scripted by Kemi Adesoye and directed by Toka McBaror. The movie stars Chris Okagbue, Liz Benson, Ama Abebrese, Victor Olaitan, and Jide Kosoko. It premieres on Prime Video today, June 1, 2022.

Wizkid may have just hinted at the release date for his upcoming 5th solo album More Love Less Ego or MLLE.

On his Instagram story posted on June 1, Wiz mentioned August 5 after apparently name-dropping a couple of artists. We think those names are the guest acts we might see on the highly anticipated More Love Less Ego.

Wiz wrote “Big up Naira/Skep/ayra/TY/Flame/Buj/ See you 5/8!! #MLLE”

Judging by those abbreviated names, perhaps Naira Marley, Skepta, Ayra Starr, Ty Dolla $ign, American rapper Flame, and Buju aka BNXN are some of the artists we can expect to see on MLLE.

Skepta and Wizkid have collaborated in the past, same as him and Buju and Ty Dolla $sign. However, this would mark the first synergy between him and Ayra Starr, and potentially Flame, and Naira Marley if we’re interpreting this teaser correctly.

Obi Emelonye has debuted the first trailer for his next blockbuster, Money Miss Road. This follows an earlier movie poster teaser release.

The film follows two down-on-their-luck friends, Josiah (Josh2funny) and Joseph (Achufusi), who find a stash of money belonging to a criminal on the run. Just when they are getting used to their new flashy lifestyle, the criminal comes calling. Friendships are tested and the two friends must choose between continuing their sweet life or giving up everything to save their family.

Money Miss Road is Emelonye’s latest movie since 2021’s Badamosi, which recently joined the growing list of Nigerian movies on Amazon Prime Video.

The movie stars Swanky JKA Achufusi, Josh2Funny, and Charley Boy Oputa in the lead roles.

No release date has been announced yet.

Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju has lamented over popular singer and aspirant on the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Olubankole Wellington, aka Banky W losing the House of Representives primaries.

Recall, Banky W was previously declared winner to represent the party as its House of Representatives candidate in the upcoming 2023 elections.

Adeyanju in a fresh tweet stated that the party was cursed for not giving the music star the ticket to represent Eti-Osa federal constituency, Lagos.

“PDP is cursed. @BankyW didn’t get the ticket according to their latest evil scheme. All they care about is dollars.” he wrote.

He also advised Banky W to resign from PDP and move to other parties that care less about money.

“Dear @BankyW, please resign from PDP and go to NNPP, Labour Party or SDP. PDP the dollars parry cannot change. All they care about is money.” He added.

The wait to hear To Be Honest by Simi is almost over.

Ahead of the release of her fourth studio album, To Be Honest, renowned Nigerian singer Simi stopped by Lagos’ Cool FM, where she spoke about motherhood, new song Naked Wire, her creative process and more.

Simi’s latest single Naked Wire released on May 20 and is the first single off her forthcoming body of work will release in a few days time, on June 3.

The prolific singer shared some insights about her ideas of motherhood, revealing that she takes parenting seriously and enjoys it. In an emotional letter Simi released prior to the announcement of To be Honest, she talked about how pregnancy and parenthood disrupted her creative calendar, forcing her to wait for the perfect time before she could release any project.

Continuing on the Cool FM cameo, the “Duduke” singer admitted that the 2020 hit song remains her biggest performance yet and opened up that she has no particular routine she follows before recording.

About To be Honest, Simi revealed that despite the polemic title, fans shouldn’t expect any controversies and that the album is basically about her trying to tell her own story.

She also revealed there are two guest features on the album, including husband and fellow artist Adekunle Gold on the median song of the 11-track album Balance.

However, she remained coy on the other features, but according to the pre-sale information on Apple Music, Simi’s To be Honest will also see guest features from Baby Ridim star, Fave, and daughter Deja.

To Be Honest by Simi is now available for pre-sale and pre-add on Apple Music.
