Afropop musician and sensational vocalist Adekunle Gold has announced new tour dates for his latest studio album “Catch Me If You Can.”

According to an Instagram post made by the former YBNL Records star, the “Catch Me If You Can” tour will begin in Boston, Massachusetts, USA on the 2nd of June 2022.

After Boston Adekunle Gold will head to New York City on the 3rd, and the Canada’s Montreal on the 5th, before hitting Philly on the 6th.

“Catch Me If You Can” is the fourth and latest studio album of Adekunle Gold. It was released on the 4th of February 2022, with lead singles “It Is What It Is,” “Sinner” (feat. Lucky Daye), and “High” (feat. Davido) released earlier.

The album is made up of 14 tracks, with the final record in the album sequencing bearing the same title.

Plans for a tour of the UK and Europe will be announced later.

Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic is set to walk down the aisle with her long time heartthrob, Fidelis Anosike, founder of Folio Media Group and publisher of Daily Times Newspaper.

The couple, who got engaged some time ago are reported to tie the knot traditionally later this April.

In the coming weeks as reported by Bella Naija, the couple will have their wedding ceremony, disclosed by Rita’s reps, and friends will start receiving invitations for her bridal shower this week.

The 2022 Grammys took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3. Several top artists, including Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Kanye West, Baby Keem, etc….with Wizkid, Tems. Femi Kuti, and Burna Boy flying Nigeria’s flag at the annual showpiece.

The ceremony was originally scheduled to be held in January at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arenal; however, it was delayed due to COVID-19.

Trevor Noah anchored the occasion, with performances from Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Silk Sonik, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X and more.

As usual, there were shocking snubs and nods, with the highlight clearly being how Afropop global sensation, Wizkid missed out on winning any award on the night from his two nominations.

There were big wins for Bruno Mars and his Silk Sonic crew (Record of The Year with “Leave the Door Open”), while John Batiste won the Album of The Year with “We Are.”

Olivia Rodrigo won Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album, Tyler The Creator won Best Rap Album with “Call Me If You Get Lost,” Baby Keem emerged with the Best Rap Performance award, while Kanye West added to his ever growing list of Grammy wins, winning two on the night.

There were also wins for Lucky Daye and Angelique Kidjo – Best Progressive R&B Album and Best Global Music Album respectively.

Whether the new category has any major critical implications is unclear, given the nominees, because good music will always transcend boarders and should not boxed. However, the addition certainly increases the global appeal of the Grammys and makes a case for inclusion.

Wizkid and Tem’s “Essence” although originally from Nigeria and Africa, sold more than 500K copies in the US alone, is platinum certified by RIIA, and reached the Hot 100 top 10 but rather than being nominated in the Record of the year category as reiterated by many musicians and fans, it is up for the Best Global Music Performance award, and it feels like a mere compensation.

With its Afrobeats-R&B hybrid, “Essence” helped chart a new future in pop music, and it would make a more-than-worthy winner.

However, don’t be surprised if the Grammys stick to those they’ve long celebrated; veteran Beninese singer, and double-nominee Angélique Kidjo.

Made In Lagos (Deluxe Edition) is the second issue of Wizkid’s fourth studio album, Made In Lagos. Four new tracks- “Mood,” where he’s joined by rising Afrofusion singer Buju; “Anoti”; “Steady”; and a remix of his collab with Tems, “Essence,” which also enlists Justin Bieber.

With Made In Lagos, Wizkid and Afrobeats reached new heights, cementing his place as as one of Nigeria’s greatest cultural ambassadors and placed him at the vanguard of a global Afrobeats wave.

Although he is up against fellow countryman Femi Kuti, and of course, 61-year-old Beninese singer Anjelique Kidjo who holds the record for the most nominations in this category, there is no reason Made In Lagos (Deluxe Edition) shouldn’t win.

The album, a beautifully crafted body or art, typifies everything we expect the category to stand for. And those who think it should have been up for album of the year if not for race definitely have a strong case

Can Wizkid win the two categories?
Deserved wins it would be if Wizkid walks away with two shinny megaphones tonight at the MGM Theatre.

One win might seem like a major victory, given the hype surrounding winning a Grammy ward, but in truth, two wins is merely justice taking its full course.

It’s the Grammys weekend, how stoked are you to see your favourite musicians and media personalities take to the famed podium at the MGM Arena for the 2022 Grammys?

The Recording Academy has unveiled the list of the night’s ensemble including performers and hosts for the 64th edition of the annual showpiece.

We already know popular South African-American comedian Trevor Noah will be MC-ing for most of the night, but he will be joined on stage with some of music’s and media’s greatest minds.

That list includes: Grammy nominees Megan Thee Stallion, Joni Mitchell and Questlove; Grammy winners Lenny Kravitz, Dua Lipa, Ludacris, Billy Porter, Bonnie Raitt, and Keith Urban; past Grammy nominees Kelsea Ballerini and Avril Lavigne; actors and musicians Jared Leto and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez; and marvel star Anthony Mackie aka The Falcon.

The video is full of glitz and glamour, as Zlatan and Davido arrive a massively built estate with an all white-cast chaperone.

Davido, Trinidad Cardona, and Aisha all feature in the first released official soundtrack of the forthcoming FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022.

The song is titled “Hayya Hayya,” and translates to “Better Together” in ENglish.

The 2022 Qatar World Cup will be the first winter edition of the global showpiece due to high temperatures in the gulf state during the summer.

The video displays rich desert visuals and classic moments from previous editions of the World Cup.

“By bringing together voices from the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, this song symbolises how music – and football – can unite the world,” said FIFA Chief Commercial Officer Kay Madati.

“As part of FIFA’s revamped music strategy, the multi-song soundtrack will bring passionate fans closer to the spirit of the FIFA World Cup like never before.”

American reality Tv star, Rob Kardashian and Rapper Tyga have clapped back at mutual ex, Blac Chyna after she claimed she receives no child support from them.

Recall, Chyna took to Twitter on Wednesday, March 30 to state that she had to give up three of her cars because she gets no child support as a single mother.

One of the most recognizable names in Hollywood, Bruce Willis is stepping away from his acting career of over four decades. The actor was recently diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that impedes a person’s ability to speak and write, his family revealed.

Music executive, Ubi Franklin has reacted to Dancehall singer, Timaya threats to beat him up.

Recall, the music star recently called out Franklin on Twitter, describing him as Davido’s employed nanny.

Reacting to Timaya’s tweets in a series of posts on Instagram, the talent manager admitted to being assaulted by Timaya but said it was an “unprovoked” attack.

According to him, their rift started because he told the music star off after he knocked a woman down with his car earlier in February.

“Timaya is so petty.
You are angry cos I told how wrong it was to knock a woman down and leave here to her fate.
You come to talk trash here today?
I am not a person that will see wrong and keep quiet.
You were wrong to have knocked that’s woman down and left her there.
Period.” he wrote.

He claimed the singer knelt down to apologize and also, called to apologize after their brawl while blaming it all on being under the influence of alcohol.

Nigerian dancehall singer and songwriter, Timaya has called out music executive Ubi Frankin on Twitter.

The music star took to his Twitter page on Wednesday, March 30, where he described Franklin as Davido’s employed nanny.

“Ubi Franklin u remember the beating I gave u in January last year? Don’t let me beat u again and pls I like your new JOB. As Ifeanyi’s NANI and pls don’t mess it up. Davido is a good guy he can make ur life. Pls focus on ur new JOB. Thanks,” he tweeted.

Reacting to the tweet, Franklin asked Timaya to properly remember what occurred on the alleged day of their brawl.

“See Timaya wen senior men help comot for hand dey talk say em beat me. You don forget wetin happen that day? Or you don high?” Franklin shared in another post.

It remains vague what the issue between Ubi and Timaya is all about but it is obvious the duo have some pending scores to settle.

However, this is not the first Franklin will be getting trolled about being Davido’s nanny. He was previously trolled during Davido’s 02 concert for always being around his son, Ifeanyi.

This is coming days after Franklin dragged comedian Bovi Ugboma for making insensitive jokes about his family at the Headies Awards.

TGIF! This weekend is filled with promising new titles and the arrival of long-awaited sequels. Bridgerton’s sophomore season easily takes the prize as the most anticipated. An old interview involving former SQN musician Chukwudi Ken Agali, professionally known as Chuddy K is causing massive debate on social media. In a certain clip of the 2020 Hip TV interview that’s circulating online, Chuddy K revealed that a certain record label boss tried to block his progress by campaigning against his songs receiving airplay from popular radio stations across Nigeria.

Although he didn’t mention any names, some fans think the Delta-born singer was referring to former Mo Hits Records boss and current Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy.

Chuddy K has been away from music for a long time, and when he was interviewed in 2018 by Punch Nigeria, he attributed the hiatus to the responsibilities of fatherhood.

Both Don Jazzy and Chuddy K are from the South-southern state of Delta, across the lower river Niger.

Chuddy K had an impressive start to his musical career, releasing several hit songs including “Gaga Crazy” and “Slow Slow,” the release of the latter, he used as a time reference for when the incident may have transpired or been at its peak according to the snippet.

In the interview with Nigeria’s number one indigenous music channel Hip TV, K revealed the label boss’ intention was to make sure his own artist was the one on top. As rumours have it, that artists was Jazzy’s former signee Wande Coal, whose high pitch vocals is somewhat similar to Chuddy K.

Now a father, Chuddy K also said the certain influencer prevented him from attending shows and blocking his source of income.

Fans are currently divided on the subject, with majority of them arguing that Don Jazzy is never one to engage in such diabolical act.

It is not quite clear what has caused the video to resurface, but Don Jazzy was recently hailed by popular Nigerian Instagram personality Tunde Ednut for having the password to making it big in the Nigerian musical scene. A notion the he modestly dismissed.

The Mavin Records’ boss is yet to comment on the accusations.

It was recently announced that Teen Wolf, the MTV hit series from a few years ago, was returning as a movie. Thanks to new behind-the-scenes photos we now know that the movie is currently shooting.

Teen Wolf ran for six seasons on MTV (2011-2017) and followed the story of high school student Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) on his path to werewolf supremacy in a world where the supernatural hide in plain sight. The show featured an array of supernatural creatures -were-coyotes, were-jaguars, banshees, hellhounds, windigo, etc.- and was a hit with its young adult demography.

Fan Favourite Character Stiles Stilinski played by Dylan O’Brien is reported to not be returning for this movie, which has seen many fans wonder aloud asking what then is the need for a Teen Wolf outing without Stilinski. I still hope this is a joke and that beneath all the denials is a planned surprise appearance by the actor reprising the character that made him famous.

Media personality and cross dresser, Denrele Edun has reacted to the severe backlash he received over his revelation of alleged affair with music star, Goldie while she was married.

Recall, the Tv host disclosed in an interview that he and late music sensation, Goldie had intimate moments despite her marital status.

He took to his Instagram stories after the interview went biral to clear the air pertaining to their relationship.

“Intimacy has been misconstrued! Why does everyone think INTIMACY connotes SEX? What a Hot Frequency!

Either ways, INTIMACY in this context means “shared secrets” and “one corner” denotes “even catching me with someone in the corner,” he wrote.

Edun added that he and his late friend, Goldie would have laughed over the entire issue.

Rema’s long-anticipated debut album titled “Raves & Roses” will release on Friday, 25th March. The 21-year-old Mavin Record’s act has unveiled the album’s track-list, revealing that it will contain 16 songs including collaborations with 6Lack and Chris Brown.

Fans have already had a taste of “Raves & Roses” with the release of headline singles “Calm Down,” “Soundgasm,” and “FYN.”

Nigerian actress and TV host, Nancy Isime is tired of people attributing success of every woman to prostitution.

Recall, the media personality was recently accused by a popular blogger of having an affair with a married man.

Reacting to the allegation, she revealed that the married man in question was a sponsor of the season 3 edition of her show and nothing more.

Later on, she took to her Instagram stories to refute the claims stating that every woman who plans to be successful, especially actresses would “automatically” earn names such as “Ashawo, olosho (prostitute)”

“If you’re a Nigerian woman with plans to be successful. Please add these names to your plans so it doesn’t surprise you when it happens. “Ashawo, Olosho” Especially if you decide to be an Actress its an automatic naming ceremony if you like be virgin!” she wrote.

Canadian singer The Weeknd has made his first appearance in the hit animated comedy TV series The Simpsons.

The Weeknd’s debut came in an episode centred around Bart Simpson becoming friends with a child influencer, played by the Dawn FM singer. It was aired on Sunday, March 20.

The writer of the episode, Ryan Koh, described the plot saying:

“Bart’s new friendship with a hip celebrity is going to make him objectively, undeniably cool. Homer feels left behind and jealous, so he will start wearing skate-wear to compensate. He will lead an uprising of his fellow middle-aged loser dads to wear ‘crazy clothes they don’t understand’ in order to feel young and cool again.”

Taraji P. Henson spent six (6) years on Empire playing the formidable and eccentric matriarch to the literal empire of a global music firm without ever really singing on the show, which left a lot of fans with a default impression that, perhaps, she didn’t have it in her. But this footage says otherwise. Henson can be seen singing a hilarious cover to Gloria Gaynor’s 1978 classic I will Survive and having fun while at it.
