Why is it a day of fasting and abstinence?

Good Friday is a day of fasting and abstinence for Catholics between the ages of 14 and 60. I'm not so sure of sex but I know Catholics are to abstain from meat and anything they enjoy most on this day. It is a day of sober reflection. If you're not a Catholic, don't put mouth in what you don't understand.

Why is it so?

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or coworkers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early, provided your share of the work is done enough.

OUT DUE TO YOUR OWN DEATH:
This will be accepted as an excuse. However, we require at least two weeks notice as it is your duty to train your own replacement.

RESTROOM USE:
Entirely too much time is being spent in the restroom. In the future, we will follow the practice of going in alphabetical order. For instance, all employees whose names begin with 'A' will go from 8:00 to 8:20, employees whose names begin with 'B' will go from 8:20 to 8:40 and so on. If you're unable to go at your allotted time, it will be necessary to wait until the next day when your turn comes again. In extreme emergencies employees may swap their time with a coworker. LUNCH BREAK:
Skinny people get an hour for lunch as they need to eat more so that they can look healthy. Normal size people get 30 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal and maintain their average figure. Fat people get 5 minutes for lunch because that is all the time needed to drink a Slim Fast & take a diet pill.

DRESS CODE:
It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing $350 Prada shoes & carrying a $600 Gucci bag we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.

One very terrible thing I have done in the past

I progressed very clearly from letting you know that waste-water from a washing machine can't fill up a soakaway and then apexed at the most important point, which is, the problem is from the soakaway because it is probably being filled up with ground water through a leakage (this is the fault).

There are some issues one should not even bring up at the risk of being viewed as a silly person by your neighbours.

7kg of water? Is that a ship's balast? The 7kg written on thw machine is the weight of clothes the machine can carry and still operate.

OP, your soakaway is bad, poorly constructed, absorbing ground water or someother matter. Get a professional to work on it. The washing machine has nothing to do with it.

The only issue with your neighbour seems to be his unwillingness to be understanding of your fears, enough to try to allay them. And I am not surprised. Your complaints must sound extremely silly to his ears.

She was in another state at that time. I had always wanted to propose to whomever I get married to with one of the rings of power. Had a friend purchase it from Jens Hansen and send it down. Travelled to see her within a week of recieving it (a big deal for me as I don't travel well and she knows that). Got to her room and when she was looking the other way brought it out and asked.

Kinda simple. Except for the ring.

But prior to that time I had NEVER mentioned marriage to her. I made conscious effort to do that. I always intended to marry within 6 months whoever I asked. So I wasn't going to be flippant with such words.

Edit: She was blown away, by the way. Much more than she expected or hoped for.

My opinion? Well I am a Christian and I do take my faith seriously so I agree with it.

Fears are high that reigning and 6 time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton may have been infected by the Corona virus.

Update: A team member of F1 tyre supplier Pirelli has tested positive for the Corona virus.

With the cancellation of the Australian GP, Pirelli has had to destroy 1,800 sets of tires that were meant to be used at the Grand Prix. They will be used as fuel in a cement factory.

Update: The Bahrain and Vietnam Grand Prix have now officially been called off. This means Australia, Bahrain, Vietnam and China, the first 4 races of the season, have been cancelled (or postponed).

The corona virus is having a big impact on F1 owners Liberty Media as their stock fell by almost 4% to it's 2017 values (when they were still making loses).

Certainly F1’s very existence is bound inextricably to its complex finances. Race hosting fees are one of the three biggest sources of income for the sport. Income on which every team depends for their survival. The other two streams are broadcast rights and sponsorship. Both are at risk when there is no show in town.

There is a complexity too to the relationship of the players involved. The organisers do not want to be the ones to cancel a race, for risk that they will lose their race fee. Likewise F1 do not want to be the ones to do so or be held responsible for failing to deliver their product to broadcasters and sponsors and potentially having to return the race fee. Between them the FIA apparently also tries not be held culpable for cancellation for fear any of the other parties find them responsible.

The Australian Grand prix holding in Melbourne - or should I say that was to hold in Melbourne starting today has been cancelled due to the Covid -19 pandemic.

This became inevitable after 4 members of the Haas F1 team were quarantined (but have been reported free of the virus) and 1 member of the McLaren F1 team diagnosed with the virus. McLaren then pulled out of the event.

Ross Brawn, MD of Motorsports of F1 had previously said any race would.be cancelled if all teams could not participate. But this was in anticipation of Ferrari, Haas, Alpha Tauri and Pirelli the tire supplier not being able to make it to.any of the races as they all have significant number of staff coming from Italy.

Lewis Hamilton had also criticised the decision to continue with the season opening Australian GP saying "cash is king" and that financial issues were being considered over medical and safety issues.

With the Bahrain GP (2nd race of the season) due to be held behind closed doors and may still be cancelled, the Vietnam GP already set to be cancelled, and the Chinese GP already cancelled, the first race of the season might be held in 3 months time! This is of course a disaster for F1 and I might add, for me personally as I have been without my F1 fix since Abu Dhabi last year and withdrawal symptoms are seriously kicking in!

There are major financial losses staring F1, the teams, the host countries and hundreds of thousands of others that depend on the sport. Small teams like Williams and Haas are in particular danger if thier paychecks are significantly dented by loss of races and TV time.

Competition wise, it becomes more difficult for the drivers as they have fewer races tomake points or make up lost points.

2020 is already shaping up to be a worrying year for sports worldwide.

Mallam Sanusi is a very ambitious man. As soon as he was made CBN Governor, he saw a path to greater power and authority. He saw a path to the throne of the Kano Emirate.

Since there were others with stronger claim to the throne than he was, he immediately began to court the Fulani-Northern power base. Men (all men) who could convince the king makers to overlook candidates with stronger claim.

He attacked the government of (the southern infidel) Goodluck Jonathan. He attacked the heads of the banking and financial sector (almost all southerners). He made himself a rabid attack dog, ostensibly in the defence of the Nigerian populace but in truth, it was a bid to make himself popular with the Fulani-Nothern power brokers.

He was successful. But at what cost? The Nigerian financial sector was badly damaged. A damage it has never recovered from. His half-truths were used against the reelection of Goodluck Jonathan and helped the victory of "the Messiah", the chosen one whose chains of change Nigerians now enjoy. The Fulani-Northern establishment achieved its aims and rewarded Sanusi with the Emirate he desired.

But Emir Sanusi had become too used to barking. He had become too used to going on the attack. He had become too used to railing against injustice and infractions as he saw them. He had become too used to shouting in the name of the common man. And as Emir, he continued in that regard.

This time his rants were now directed against those within and around his domain as Emir. Unfortunately, these people were the same Fulani-Northern politicians that he had used (and had been used by) on his way to the throne. The same people who care only for their own power and pockets. The same people who would recieve bribes before they would execute the duties they are appointed or elected to perform. The same people who would recieve bribes to ignore the non-performance of duties to the people they are appointed or elected to serve. The same people who pocket hundreds of thousands of dollars on video but still recieve awards from the same Fulani-Northern establishment, awards of "excellent service". The rabid dog was going against its own masters.

Whether he became more ambitious and gunned for the office of vice president as some say, I wouldn't know. But he did attack the traditions of the Fulani-Northern establishement. Traditions that ensure the common northerner remains a serf to his overlords. That keep the vast population in poverty so they can be used as needed. That keep the vast population of the north uneducated so they don't rebel against the status quo. He attacked the men that made him king, that get their power from the subjugation first of their own people in the north and then the rest of Nigeria.

No matter how strong a dog is, it's masters can still shoot it between the eyes. Mallam Sanusi has been brought down to size by the same powers that raised him up.

He was ambitious, he was loud, it doesn't seem he was very wise.
