hi Fam,

I have my eyes on a few universities that offer courses in my field, Electrical Engineering with a leaning towards renewable energy specifically.
in order of preference:

Master of Science in Power Engineering (MSPE) • Technische Universität München • München

Power Engineering • Bradenburg University of Technology, Senftenberg • Cottbus

Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (MSc) • Deggendorf Institute of Technology • Deggendorf

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) • Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt • Ingolstadt

Master of Science in Renewable Energy Management (REM) • TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences) • Köln MEng

Electrical Engineering (EE) • University of Rostock • Rostock

Renewable Energy Systems • Hamburg University of Applied Sciences • Hamburg

Electrical Power Engineering • RWTH Aachen University ( the course available at TU Berlin was referred back to Aachen too).

I need information regarding student jobs / possible places for internship in terms of big companies in the cities, how good the semester ticket is and general view of the cities. please all information is appreciated. I plan also to further go for Ph.D after completion of my Masters.

Danke.

hi Fam,

for any one interested in studying Electrical Engineering with a soft bias for renewable energy, here is the list of universities I have on my shortlist. some require uni assist + GRE + TOEFL/IELTS, a few do not.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (with a bias for renewable energy)

Electrical Engineering • Kempten University of Applied Science • Kempten (Allgäu)

Electrical Engineering (EE) • University of Rostock • Rostock

Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (MSc) • Deggendorf Institute of Technology • Deggendorf

Master of Science in Power Engineering (MSPE) • Technische Universität München • München

Master of Science in Renewable Energy Management (REM) • TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences) • Köln MEng

Renewable Energy Systems • Hamburg University of Applied Sciences • Hamburg

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) • Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt • Ingolstadt

Power Engineering • Bradenburg University of Technology, Senftenberg • Cottbus

Electrical Power Engineering • RWTH Aachen University

Munich, Cottbus, Deggendorf permit direct applications. Ingolstadt, Kiln, Rostock require uni assist.

I used a spreadsheet as recommended by a guru here to filter my list.

So sorry for the damage.

The relay is supposed to be rated around 25-30A. Were you switching loads larger than the rating? Perhaps with grid available you were running the inverter at or above its rated capacity? This is a common failure mode when grid supply goes off while heavy loads are being powered and the relay attempts to switch a load larger than it was designed for - especially inductive loads
Mr Niyi, yourself and Mr Pranil should apply for discos license!!

Slept at a friend's place in Ogudu. Local man woke up around 3:30am ,then it struck my mind that I need prayers.
4:30 am at Obalende already, I nearly lost OH because I thought all the cars that are heading to VI are following same route.. But I called someone up and she told me how to find my way to the Embassy. I was in a hurry to leave that Bus stop. Only God knows why they wake up early like that in Lagos.

My Interview, Had my interview @ Cubicle 3
VO was so much concerned about my undergraduate studies, if it is related to my master's. She asked me this 3/4 times.
VO : What is your full name.
VO: Your course.
VO: Have you been learning German at all.
VO: why this course.
VO: why Germany.
VO: why not USA, UK and other European countries.
VO: why not Nigeria, she even said this your course is not studied here in Nigeria oh.
VO: Date of birth on my passport.
VO: what's your CGPA and she said with that grade why your school didn't allow you to graduate with 2.1 now..
VO: is it MA or MSC.
VO: Facts about Germany, after I told her how Germany moved its capital 7 times and mentioned.
VO: Geographical Location of Germany, President's name, Chancellor's name and her Political party and the leaders of Bundesrat and Bundestag, Economy of Germany.
VO: Bachelor Thesis.
VO: Do you have anybody in Germany.
VO: Plan after studies.
Me and the VO joked that I will have to pay for her pen that I used.
She was so lively and cool. I noticed she was looking at me eyeball to eyeball to know if this Local man knows what he is saying. She checked the school website that I applied to but I don't have an idea what she was looking at there..

@ chriswazo

congratulations. your transcript was moving. I got BTU Cottbus on my shortlist too. I'll monitor your success from here and pop in for questions as at when due. I'm partial to renewable energy systems, first degree was Elect. Engrg (power option). working experience in PV sector. my shortlist has Six schools with focus on Renewable Energy.
renewable energy at Cottbus has focus on tropical & sub tropical climes. something similar to yours.

I hope to expand that shortlist asap.

Thanks to all who keep the info flowing, God will crown all efforts with SUCCESS.

Wow. I made front page. Thanks for all the responses guys.
God bless the mod who moved it to the front page.
hi, my suggestion.
buy a small laptop power bank (comes with 300w inverter), it costs between 35-40k. buy a 150w panel, costs less than 30k. connect both together. both are available from various vendors on jiji.

if you have like 6hrs of PHCN supply per day where you are presently, you are okay. the Powerbank will charge via PHCN and also with the solar panel.

you can buy LED bulbs, 2nos of 3w LED (like #450/pc) should be okay for lighting. a fully charged power bank will run your laptop for at least 8hrs. you can use the power bank while its charging from the solar panel.

this is cheaper than your costs of relocation. and whenever you do decide to relocate, these stuff are portable and easy to transport.

Godspeed.

Hello, i am new here and i so much appreciate the level of assistance generously offered here.
Please i have a question; If i want to apply for student visa appointment, music i go to the German embassy to get an application form or is the online application enough
Am confused because i keep hearing of application form please someone should help me out
the application form is the form you filled when you apply to a German university. you may book for a visa interview via the embassy website in anticipation of getting an admission letter (AL) IF YOU ARE SURE THE ADMISSION LETTER WILL REACH YOU BEFORE EXPECTED VISA INTERVIEW DATE.

when you receive a date for visa interview, you print out the email in which you were informed of this and bring it along with other documents specified on the checklist available at the embassy's website.

if by the date of your interview, you do not posses a valid admission letter, you do not attend the interview or you cancel your appointment within 7 days from the interview date. there may be penalties...you are left to find out how mild or severe if any and report to the forum.

lastly, please read page 1.

Godspeed.

ok you mean I can just attach the form for school A on the already certified doc and send to them abi ?
Cos that's what I told the person but he's like it won't fly
hi, your certified documents were not directed to any school, just stamped.

you attach your completed application form for that school to A SET of certified documents, and send to that school. I assume you certified more than one set of certified copies of your documents.

if you are using uni assist you would have sent only one set of certified documents to them which they will use for multiple schools based on number of applications you opened.

Good day all.
I had my appointment on Tuesday.
ABUJA EMBASSY
I have a year scholarship worth 800£ per month.
I was not interviewed because I have to open a blocked account for the second year.
I don't know what is the way forward.
I need advice.
Thanks
hi, you said you were not interviewed? you went and were turned back/denied or you actually saw a visa officer who gave you the info?

from transcripts of people who had interviews in Lagos, the blocked account was for just one calendar year not two and YOU HAVE £800/month scholarship which I believe covers the blocked account.

if I may ask, is the scholarship from any of the recognised institutions like daad or PTDF? if from elsewhere, outside Nigeria, they may require the blocked account.

try booking for Lagos as someone advised and see how it goes. most of all: PRAY!!

I wish you Godspeed

For those who are new to Lagos and will be coming in for their Visa Interview:

Check out this link https://lara.ng/ It's an automated direction assistant, Gives you direction on how to move around Lagos using public transport, E.g. If you need direction from Ojota to Abule Egba, just type

"Ojota to abule egba," and you get your directions.

Funny enough, the App will even tell you the price you may pay the Danfo man.

This thread is the most successful travel thread in Nigeria.
I already lost hope of going anywhere, then a friend told me about this page and since then, I have a big hope that I will be in Germany soon.
I just want to encourage us to continue with what we are doing, God will surely bless us all.
My question is this, are there arts related courses in German universities that are free tuition too?
simple solution:
visit WWW.daad.de

use the filters on the advanced button,
select no tuition, filter courses you want. what you see is what you get.

another hint is to read the thread ( no mean feat at all).... some peeps here are doing Arts courses, hope they are available to respond.

a more laborious method will be to search each university to know what's available.

p.s its all easier if you can be more explicit as to the course that interests you, you might just be lucky someone is going for the same course...

I don't know of that system, your sponsor must be a German.
whoever is going to be your sponsor must be a euro earning, tax paying resident of Germany. the key point being, earning enough to sustain both themselves and yourself.

some pages back, someone took the pains to translate a German document which states the minimum earnings by any would be sponsor to a student. try and search for that and forward to your sponsor.

it is better however that your sponsor pay a visit to the foreigners office in his/her state and make enquiries.

URGENT ENQUIRY

Hello guys. I'm currently gathering my documents in preparation for application (mainly through uni-assist). I got the "Student Copy" transcript from Unilag. Will the high court/notary public/German embassy certify this. And if yes, will uni-assist or individual schools accept it?

URGENT ENQUIRY
is it stamped & signed on every page?
does it have a legend of breakdown of grades?
does it bear your school address & letterhead?

if yes to all the above, ho ahead and certify them, some one on this forum, some pages back, used the student copy, had it certified and has even got Admission letters with it.

A good option is at Bayland guest house at Obalende. D have 5k and 8k rooms. For both category u have AC, fridge, television, fair toilet facilities, steady power
From there to the embassy is just 100 naira and less than 10 minutes via Keke o
In my case, I left by 5am and was there before 5:30am.
Now let me say this also, if you feel the maruwa will take time to full, you can leave them and trek small to the main route, their u will see "on the road" ones going immediately. I did same

@adheir thanks for showing me this option

Hello everyone, i'm kinda new here and I have this issue bothering me which I would appreciate answers to. This is my issue...due to some family ish and upandan movement, I discovered that I could no longer find my original WAEC certificate. Thank God I have the photocopy, all efforts to find the original has proven abortive. Now, I have gone to WAEC and completed the process of getting Attestation of result since they don't issue certificate twice. Now, the thing is, all the schools I applied to in Germany have required I upload original copies of all my documents alongside CTC. I have uploaded all but could only upload photocopy of my WAEC. I hope this will not be an hindrance to my being offered admission and please I need advice on how best to handle this. WAEC says the Attestation won't come out till after six months which would be December. I also understand that I would need the originals too when I go for visa interview. Please I need help and useful advice on what I can do. Has anyone been in this situation before, how did you handle it?. Please don't read and ignore, I came here purposely because of this. Please help my life. Thank you.
phew! first of all.
do you have an affidavit stating your waec certificate was lost?

secondly, you must have had some application letter written to waec asking for an attestation or some document printout showing you are in the process of getting a new document from waec?

the two above, together with your waec scratch card can be used to authenticate you results.

I think that should clear you at the embassy, but for enrollment at the school in Germany, those in the system can advise better..

best of luck..
