We told them that the hush-hush with which the CBN is executing this policy will bring nothing but suffering to the people but then, since they thought it's against the President-elect Asíwájú Bola Ahmed Tinubu, they don't care if it hurts the masses, thank God they didn't win the election, that would have been how they would continue suffering the masses as long as it pleases their lord and mighty pitobi.

Nigeria is moving forward already, by the time Asíwájú is sworn in by May 29th every necessary normalcy would be returned.

Although disappointing
Tinubu tried to hold Lagos with the figures he pulled so far. Lagos is the Capital of Southern Nigeria, so what were you expecting?
This was a fight between ibos+SS+woke yorubas against Tinubu supporters in Lagos who are mainly yorubas and maybe Hausas in Lagos.

I hope Tinubu and yorubas have learnt a bitter lesson from Lagos Elections not to befriend and feed a cub because it is homeless, hopeless, and dying. It will grow up and eat u up someday.

I'm happy yorubas can now sit down and ask qtns as to how they got everything wrong and redress it with BAT as President.

The take home from this defeat is..

Yorubas need to stop drafting non yorubas into the civil service and stop giving them prominent appointments. There are always technocrats who can always fit into any political office from the SW

Yorubas need to stop selling their lands to non yorubas in Lagos

Yorubas need to stop giving out local government of origins to non yorubas in Lagos

Yorubas need to stop allowing non-yorubas contest for Elections in Lagos or SW

Yorubas need limit the numbers of voters registration of non yorubas going on in Lagos, they care so much about Lagos and don't care if their homes rot, Henceforth let them go home and vote. They can't come and dictate to you on how to govern urselves after creating an enabling environment for them to thrive.

Contain them politically, Period!

Congratulations to the incoming President of Nigeria BAT the ASIWAJU of Lagos nothwitstanding

Nairaland GeneralParty Rice by Lexv(op): 1:33pm On Nov 15, 2021
What is it about party rice that simply makes people go crazy? I have seen supposedly respected people in the society, dressed in suits and agbada, make complete fool of themselves because they were not given food at an ocassion. Really, what is it about party rice?

Come to think of it: is it not the same rice that we eat almost everyday at our respective homes? What makes this particular rice so special? Personally, I can't bear the taste of rice after eating it twice within a week. Not really a big fan.

Well, after years of careful research and observation; yes, I said research… lol. Anyway, after a little bit of digging here and there, I've finally come-up with an hypothesis on why people make an ass of themselves at parties because of food.

The truth is — it's not really about the food! Yep, the rice has nothing to do with it. Rather, it is a psychological thing. When you are one of the guests at a wedding party for instance, and everybody around you gets food except you, at that moment, all the numbers of rejection that you've suffered in your short miserable life wells-up into an ugly emotion that makes you want to stab the server with a damn fork!

When people are not given food at parties, it makes them feel left-out, scorned, rejected and hell hath no fury like a person denied food at a party. Lol

So, what's the solution? Fight, kick, scream, until someone gives you a plate? Nope, you don't really want to do that especially when you have some 'reps' in the eyes of those around.

This is what you do: give yourself a proper treat before making yourself available at the party. I mean eat a good food; perhaps something you've not eaten in a long while but really enjoy eating. So that in that moment when those ugly emotions begin to rear their ugly heads, you can quickly shut it down by simply reminding yourself that you're special and the proof of that was the awesome meal you just ate before going to the party.

The next time you see a very respected man or woman, in a well-tailored suit or attire, make complete fool of themselves at an occasion, be sympathetic and pity the poor creatures. Rejection can be quite demoralizing.

"As you become involved in continuing education, you increase your knowledge base and you increase your options. Your economic security does not lie in your job; it lies in your own power to produce - to think, to learn, to create, to adapt. That's true financial independence. It's not having wealth; it's having the power to produce wealth".
- Stephen Covey

Those above words should be printed in gold and stamped on the door of every human being alive on planet earth. Why do I say this? Because I am a firm believer in the power of self-education! Well, isn't it evident that getting a degree from the university is no longer the solution to our financial problems? Besides, the current richest man in the world was a school drop-out. That says a lot isn't it? Over the years, people have overestimated the importance of formal education (Schooling), and underrated the value of self-education. But thank God the eyes of men are finally starting to see the light. And yes I saw the light myself, when I was a Youth Corper in Rivers State. When I saw the number of graduates in my camp alone, suddenly, the layers fell off from my eyes and I really began to see.

Before I finally left the N.Y.S.C camp, I settled it finally in my heart, that I was going to be a life-long student of personal development until the day I die. Now, fast forward two years later; I believe I am what I am today by the grace of God and by the practical skills I've accumulated along the way. Don't misunderstand me, I'm yet to arrive and I pray I never will. I am yet to reach my destination but trust me, I'm no longer where I used to be. So what changed? Did the economy become better from 2013-2016? No, not at all. If anything, the economy has gone worse since then. But I'm doing better, living better. So what changed? Simply put - I changed! I became a better person by investing in myself. And like my mentor Jim Rohn would often say, "If you'll change then everything would change for you".

You can yearn all you want, but until you start to learn, you'd find it difficult to earn. Invest in yourself!

Are you a product of your circumstances or a product of your decisions? Stephen Covey, the author of '7 Habits Of Highly Effective People' believes that we are products of our decisions. He once wrote — “I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions”. One common habit among the youths of today is their carefree attitude towards life. They seem to have this absurd mentality that what will be will be and there's nothing they can do about it. But is that really true? That whatever was destined to happen must surely happen and the life of every man is controlled by an invisible force called fate?

My father in the Lord, Pastor E.A Adeboye, once told a story of how two young men from Yoruba Land (Western Nigeria), went to the shrine of a certain herbalist to inquire about their future. And after several incarntations the oracle spoke and prohesied that one of the young men would become very successful in life while the other would be a huge failure. The one who had the good news went home rejoicing, while the young man who received the bad news went home downcast and very sorrowful. That night, he wept bitterly but as he wallowed in the occean of his own misery, suddenly, something sparked inside of him and he immediately rose to his feet and made a loud declaration, “I'm going to make it in life no matter what it takes!”. The next day, he packed the few clothes he had into a small box, took some food along with him and went into the forest. As soon as he got to his destination, which was far deep inside the forest, he began to till the gound and plant seeds in his new cultivated land. He would rise up very early in the morning while others where still asleep and work till late in the evening when others had already gone home. He kept to this routine every single day!

Five years later, there was a severe famine in the land and something urgent had to be done to bring relief to the people who were now dying of starvation. The king summoned all his elders to a private meeting and they decided to set up a committee that would go into all neigbouring villages, towns and local markets to seek for help. As the group went about searching for a solution to the ten days famine, they accidentally stumbled upon the biggest farmland they had ever seen in their lives. It had enough crops to feed the entire village until the drought pass away. There was yam, plantain, cocoyam, cassava, beans, groundnut, maize, pepper, okro and many more crops.

The elders of the land soon came looking for the owner of this great farmland, and when they met him begged for his help which he was more than willing to offer but “only on one condition” he said. “And what will that be our son?” they inquired. “I will assist you with enough food to last you this entire famine season but you must make me your new king” replied the young man. The elders went back to the village to deliberate on the matter, and after three days they finally decided to accept his offer by crowning him their new king!

An interesting story isn't it? Now, I want you to use your imagination and tell me who the old king was and who the new king is?

The king that was dethroned was the young man who received the favorable report from the oracle's mouth while the one that was enthroned king was the young man who got the bad news from the oracle. He was the same person they said will never make it. The one they said was destined for failure. The one everybody called the black sheep of the family. He defiled all odds and became a king! I don't know what others may have said about you; I don't know the odds that are presently stacked against you; but there is one thing I know, its never over until you give up! Your choice rather than your circumstance determines your destiny.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now, I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live”.
—Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT)

One of my mother's favorite aphorism is “As you lay your bed so shall you lie on it”. God did not put you on this earth so that you can just coast through life without any form of responsibility. It is laziness and fear of responsibility that usually makes people leave everything about their lives in the hands of God. We all know that God reigns supreme in the affairs of men but nevertheless, man himself has a very crucial role to play in the happenings of his life.

I came from a very poor family with no significant name in society. I lost my right limb to a fatal accident at the age of seven. I graduated with second class lower from a university that is not ranked among the top fifty univerisities in my country. Yet, despite all these odds, I was determined to make something worthy out of my life.

"Successful people are those who do those things the average person would never do".
- Unknown

1. They Take Risk.

They take those risks because they know that failure is just part of the process in discovering what will truly work to build more wealth.

2. They Invest In Themselves

Wealthy people don't look at the money spent on personal growth as an expense, but an investment.

3. They Associate With Those They Want To Emulate

if you want to be rich, hang around rich people. Dave Ramsey once said, "If they are four broke people in a room, you'll be the fifth".

4. They Have A Dedicated Morning Ritual

Most of the multi-millionaires in the world have a dedicated routine, a ritual that they do each and every morning. Personally, the first thing I do every morning is to drink a glass of water. After that, I do a hundred push-ups and I read my Bible. That is my power formula and it works magic every time!

5. They Review Their Goals Consistently

The rich have clearly defined goals and continually review them to track their progress, make changes and develop strategies for meeting those goals.

There you have it! The five habits of wealthy people. Start today and make sure you put those ideas into practice.

God bless you!

EducationThe Power Of Principles By Alex Paikiegha by Lexv(op): 3:48pm On Jan 20, 2016
https://paikiegha.mywapblog.com/files/what-is-viral-marketing-p.jpg

I made a personal decision some years back to always seek out for principles and to apply them daily in my own life. That decision has continued to yield great dividends. Now, why do I search for principles, or better yet, why do I hunt for principles? I do it because principles are universal laws that are unchanging irrespective of the times, age or economy we live in.

The most powerful statement I've ever read concerning principles was written by Stephen R. Covey, in his best-selling book 'The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People'.

"Principles don't react to anything. They don't get mad and treat us differently. They won't divorce us or run away with our best friend. They aren't out to get us. They can't pave our way with shortcuts and quick fixes. They don't depend on the behavior of others, the environment, or the current fad for their validity. Principles don't die. They aren't here one day and gone the next. They can't be destroyed by fire, earthquake or theft.
Principles are deep, fundamental truths, classic truths, generic common denominators. They are tightly interwoven threads running with exactness, consistency, beauty, and strength through the fabric of life.
Even in the midst of people or circumstances that seem to ignore the principles, we can be secure in the knowledge that principles are bigger than people or circumstances, and that thousands of years of history have seen them truimph, time and time again".

Here are some basic principles found in the Bible:

* The Principle Of Sowing And Reaping

“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
(Genesis 8:22)

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows".
(Galatians 6:7)

* The Principle Of Giving

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
(Luke 6:38)

* The Principle Of Thought

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee".
(Proverbs 23:7)

* The Principle Of Diligence

"Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before meanmen".
(Proverbs 22:29)

* The Principle Of Faith

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God".
(Romans 10:17)

* The Principle Of Multiplication

"He replied, “You give them something to eat.”They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.” (About five thousand men were there.) But he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” The disciples did so, and everyone sat down. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over".
(Luke 9:13-17)

"The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord . But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”
But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
(2 Kings 4:1-7)

Jim Rohn once observed, "Success is neither magical nor mysterious. Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying basic fundamentals".

Seek for principles!
InvestmentThose Who Rob Themselves! by Lexv(op): 8:57pm On Jan 17, 2016
https://paikiegha.mywapblog.com/files/robbing-yourself-of-profi.jpg

A burglar broke into the home of a very wealthy woman few days after she went on a trip. He broke into her house at exactly 9pm and since nobody was at home he decided to take his time.

He thoroughly searched the house for money and any other valuable property he could find. He literally tore the entire house apart in his desperate search for gold. And after everything, he was only able to steal a few thousand naira and some costly jewelries.

When this rich lady returned from her trip, she saw her house totally ripped apart and immediately she knew she had been robbed. Slowly, she walked through all the mess and entered into her study room. There, she found some of her books all scattered on the floor of her personal library. She soon walked into her bedroom, where some of her clothes were lying scattered on the bed. The burglar had stolen some cash she left at the drawer and some expensive jewelries.

Suddenly she paused, took a deep breath and smiled. Looking straight to the silent crowd she was narrating the experience to, including myself; she then went ahead to make a very important statement I would never forget. She said, “If it was possible to rob myself, I would neither take money nor jewelries. If i had the opportunity to rob someone as rich as myself, I would steal the books they read and the tapes they listen to. Why you may ask? “You see, In just a few months time” she continued. “that poor burglar would go broke again and would probably need to rob someone else to survive. The litte sum of money he stole from me would never make him rich because his mind is still at the same level of development (Steal and consume). But if he had gone away with the books I read and the audio tapes I listen to, then he would have given himself access to the very information I built my wealth with. And In just a short time, he could have become truly rich and never have to steal again. By only stealing my money, that burglar had not really stolen from me since I can easily replace the money he had stolen because of what I know. What that burglar has done is that he has only succeeded in robbing himself!”

If you were that burglar, what would you have taken - the cash, jewelries, or books? Be honest with yourself. You see, in the end we only rob ourselves when we fail to read those books that could really add value to our lives. Jim Rohn advised, “We must not permit anything to stand between us and the books that could change our lives”.

Ignorance is costing you far more than you think and it has cost me a fortune. So lets stop robbing ourselves by failing to invest time, money and energy on our personal growth. Any money we spend on personal development is always a money well spent, so lets read, learn and apply what we learn because no matter how tall your father is, you must do your own stretching.

Start today to invest in your education. Who knows — the next book you read may just be the key to your success!
