BascoVanVeli:
Can we retain Rohr as NFF boss grin

Rohr makes fresh demands from NFF

Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has insisted that the only way he would go on a refresher course with Bayern Munich, is if the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) outlines the refresher programmes for local coaches.

The NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, recently disclosed that Rohr would be heading to Germany on attachment with the Bundesliga champions, to learn about the latest innovations in football management.

But Rohr has now said that his decision to go for the refresher course, depends on if his assistant coaches who are mostly Nigerians, have the same chance.

“Yes, it is a good idea from President Pinnick I think because every coach regardless of the experience you have needs to go on refresher courses almost all the time to learn latest trends in coaching.

“I want to be better than I am and my going to Bayern Munich is to know how the technical crew is doing in the domestic league and in the CAF Champions League.

“I am German and French also. I have had a look at situations in a club like Lyon, Bordeaux, Paris Saint Germain and even Bayern Munich also before now.

“But it will be good for me to refresh it with another opportunity with Bayern Munich.

“I, however, feel that this opportunity shouldn’t be for me alone but that it should be for other coaches in Nigeria who are working with the national teams.

“I don’t believe that I know it all already and I am happy that it is President Pinnick’s idea but this programme shouldn’t be for me alone.

“There should be supplementary programmes for our assistant coaches also and for young coaches like Victor Agali who is having is a diploma in German.

“I don’t know when I will start yet. We have to wait if this association continues. My decision is not made yet. I need a few periods of rest to think about it.

“We will see but if it will continue, I have to start the programme immediately and it must be with the other coaches too to make them better,” Rohr told SportingLife

https://dailypost.ng/2019/07/24/rohr-makes-fresh-demands-nff/
for the fact that ROHR is working with the NFF is not a small man ... he owns so many big hotels in France, and some african countries ...he has built a successful business for himself, and he is comfortable ... that is why he doesn't run after NFF for money ... for hi to have attained this level , there will be some level of maturity and intelligence in his dealings .... he deserves some accolades grin just that he is too conservative ... and made the eagles to lose the glamour that comes with our style of play ..now we play like the Chelsea under Mourinho ...Purely negative football ...sad part .. grin
SportsRe: Rohr Makes Fresh Demands From NFF by lexyman(m): 5:29pm On Jul 24, 2019
When you see a comfortable and confident man you don’t need to stretch your neck to identify them ... Rohr is one . Forget the backlashing and Rohr must go noise ... he is just too matured and knows how to play is card right .if we Drop him today ... other African National team are ready to pick him up . We may not have a balanced team yet ... but gradually we will get there ...

All National team coaches should go on refresher course .this will help our football .

OMANBALA1:
I started disliking Iwobi after he made a smelly gesture to a fellow African player....Very ffoollish boy. If it was white that did it all hell will let loose. But thats by the way. I am more interested in what he brings to the table which is a big gigantic NOTHING. To make things worse whenever he loses the ball he raises his hands like Ighalo and mouth like Kelechi. Its very infuriating.
You may not like this , but ones listened to one of TAribo West interrview where he said ... whenever they have important matches one of the things they do to iriate strikers or attackers is chase them with a smelly mouth .... you never can tell if that same guy didn’t brush . . Believe me if u re a striker and meet a defender with a smelly mouth u will not want to pass is route again ....just avoid him like plague .

If u have not brush today ... run to the bathroom and do that now

realpoacher:
Going forward, Rohr should be sacked. He has done well no doubt especially in his man management but let the truth be told he has equally been given all the support he needed. Pinnick and the NFF have provided him with atleast 80% support for 3 years which no other coach has enjoyed probably apart from westerhorf.

Rohr should go. His timidity is infectious and cancerous.

In his stead, i am going to propose 3 candidates that i believe are going to give us the style of play that we all deserve and want. Also they come cheap and within our payroll.

I am fortunate to watch almost all the matches of AFCON 2019 and therefore in good stead to make 3 solid suggestions.

1. Mr Nicolas Dupuis (Madagascar/France)

A French man and the current coach of Madagascar team. Madagascar were ranked outside 100 coming into this competition yet their coach was able to make them play fearless with an attacking style to make you grin with envy. Even though they eventually bottled it against Tunisia but they showed the Tunisian's no respect.

They are fit and extremely Athletic, the coach made them so actually. They score freekicks too. They were also composed for the penalty shootouts against Uganda.

Think of what this man did with Madagascar at this tournament and think of what he will do with Nigeria at the World Cup.

If it were Rohr incharge of Madagascar at this tournament, he would have told them they were coming to their first tournament and therefore have no chance against anybody. He would have probably played all 11 players behind the ball against Nigeria. Smh

They benefits of hiring Nicolas Dupuis are immense.

2. Djamel Belmadi (Algeria/Algeria)

He wasn't their coach when we walloped them in Uyo three years ago but he came in after that and improved the team in all aspects. Whereas our coach couldn't do the same for us.

Imagine getting jittery against a team you chewed to threads not too long ago. It only shows your deficiency.

We can hire Belmadi too though with his current stride with Algeria, he will come abit expensive than Nicolas.

3. Muhamed Magassouba (Mali/Mali)

This man used complete rookies and teens at this tournament for Mali yet he played one of the most beautiful, exciting and entertaining football. His squad consisted mainly of Mali's 2013 and 2015 U17 members yet they delivered. It took experience for Ivory Coast to defeat them 1 nil.

While Rohr made us believed that Teens cant play African football, this man proved him otherwise. Attack, Attack and more Attack were the only thing Mali knew, they were only outdone by that solitary Ivory Coast goal by Wilfred Zaha.

......

My submission

I will pick French man Nicholas Dupuis anyday anytime as he currently fits perfectly into what we seek, Good man management, ambitious, cheap, style of play, and available.

.......

Going forward, NFF should stop hiring German coaches as their game play, style are not our way of playing.

Our style of football is the fluid, entertaining and attack minded. The Dutch, French and South American football are what we model after, therefore coaches from there are whom we should seek
i still support Rohr ... if he can get some technically sound managers .... but on the other side ...any foreign coach from France , Netherland or Germany will give us the desired result .. i can't trust any of our local coaches , their corruption practices is too much ... also the NFF should pick all our legend ...ex internationals , in each of their department , they should work with them let them give us their likes ...at all age grade level .under 15, 17, 20,23 Eg Okocha , should scout for MIDFIELDERS .... Kanu ,Aghahowa , should scout for strikers ....Finidi ;should scout for wingers ....they can recognise good talents when they see them ... if this process continues for the next 5 years , we it will produce result.
