joseph1832ng:

Well in politics, there's something call 'Influence'. It allows the wielder to mess with whoever or whatever they deem fit.

Once upon a time, Britain still wielded tremendous influence over our domestic politics. Hope you know this?
Joe, knock it off, will you?

Influence is different from bullying and intimidation.

Influence is diplomatic supplication and cajoling. Not public humiliation. David Cameron said, in front of an international media, " if Ghana passes the anti gay laws , we are going to cease our annual grants and aids".

Mind you, almost 90% of Ghana's budget is from foreign aid. That's not influence Britain was wielding, it was a spectacular show of unbridled power and humiliation.

joseph1832ng:

Well let's start with Liberia, or Gambia for example.

Understood.
Unfair comparisons! Liberia is still having scars of her civil war and the Ebola debacle. Gambia is tiny without any natural resources. Pick a country Ghana's own size.
joseph1832ng:

Okay bro. When I have the time. I stopped meddling with international politics because our domestic politics affects me more. It's becoming worrisome.

That's the more reason to look at geopolitics when domestic politics and economy are taking serious hits.

Better join me in foreign affairs for some serious trolling cheesy

joseph1832ng:

Bottom line, did Ghana sign the anti-gay law or not?
Ghana failed to sign its own Anti gay laws because the British government through diplomatic pressure and blackmail asked her not to. That my Joe, is outside the purview of domestic politics, no?
joseph1832ng:

Never forget, a man who is healthy in body might be sick in the mind. Many African people are sick in their minds.
I am unable to see the correlation here. Please compare Ghana economically to countries who aren't neck deep in civil war.
joseph1832ng:

Libya was doing better than well when Gaddafi was there. Western interference caused that country to experience war.
I didn't say otherwise. I said Libya is doing better than Ghana by all economic indexes. And Libya is still going through the aftershocks of the Arab uprising till this minute.
joseph1832ng:

Are you sure Sudan is doing better than Ghana?

Have it googled for simplicity. Sudan tops Ghana.

makydebbie:
hey its lezznjr cheesy

maximum respect
cool

yea,you got it right... its "Dumsor" wink

my neighbours even composed a song for it grin
Oh, yeah? So Dumsor contrasts with well calculated power interruption you earlier mentioned?
Romance / Re: Happy Birthday Ishilove! by lezznjr: 9:47am On Oct 03, 2016
joseph1832ng:
Well you can. At least they didn't let tribal differences tear them apart even when they profess to one religion, Islam.

In my opinion, Ghana is way better than Somalia.

I meant Ghana's domestic politics should be left for them to handle. I didn't imply anything as regard the disgraced Laurent Gbabo.
grin grin angry

No one has mentioned Ghana's domestic politics here.

David Cameron was the former British prime minister who threatened Ghana with aid and grants withdrawal should Ghana pass the anti gay laws!!!!

It snowballed into Ghana signing a pact with the EU to undermine indigenous SMEs and industries in the subregion until Nigeria had to rectify that slaving treaty April last year.

How do you measure the work rate of a sick man with that of a healthy man in the same scale? Reeks of cowardice to me.

Anyways, Sudan and Libya both war-torn countries are still doing well than "peaceful", "tribal-rancour-free" Ghana
Romance / Re: Happy Birthday Ishilove! by lezznjr: 9:34am On Oct 03, 2016
joseph1832ng:
I'm sure Somalia is worse off than Ghana.

Well their internal democratic virtues should be their own problem. We have ours you know. People who celebrate kleptomaniacs.

Something is wrong with Africa, my home.
How do you compare a war-torn Somalia to Ghana who has been enjoying social stability for decades angry

And how is ECOWAS and Laurent Gbabo issues domestic?
Romance / Re: Happy Birthday Ishilove! by lezznjr: 9:23am On Oct 03, 2016
joseph1832ng:

24 million. They're pretty small. Even the population of Lagos alone can compete with Ghana.
Yeah, 24 insignificant million that has a warped sense of their worth. With a laughable GDP of 50 billion dollars.

joseph1832ng:

But even at that, I still respect them same way I respect every African country. We are a people deceived into accepting something that didn't favour us at all.

Ghana is the national Judas in ECOWAS, bro. During the Ivory coast Laurent Gbabo brouhaha that slave nation showed her hands.

I don't have respect for a country that couldn't pass its own domestic laws because David Cameron asked them to stop.

Bunch of slaving newts.
Romance / Re: Happy Birthday Ishilove! by lezznjr: 9:09am On Oct 03, 2016
joseph1832ng:
LOL. Well it's same way in Nigeria also. There are places here where they don't take light at all. Even in Egbeda, we're guaranteed at least 20 to 23 hours o light a day.

Ghana's electricity distribution is not only as epileptic as Nigeria's, they are dependent on Nigeria's gas which is given them at a pittance and still owe us millions in dept.

The West African gas line project was also a project which volunteer African countries set up to ferry gas from Nigeria, but Nigeria ended up forking out over 85% of Ghana's own part......

When there was chaos in the Niger delta or interruption in gas supply in Nigeria, it manifests in power interruption in Ghana.

Ghana doesn't have the means or luxury for nationwide uninterrupted power distribution despite being just 24 million in population.
Romance / Re: Happy Birthday Ishilove! by lezznjr: 8:57am On Oct 03, 2016
joseph1832ng:
Hmm. Never knew things have changed in Ghana.

Next time, you can get a power-bank, just in case of this type of rare occurrence.
Lolz, the need to paint a larger than reality scenario to Nigerians by Ghanaians is a compulsion born out of a rivalry that shouldn't be there in the first place.
Romance / Re: Happy Birthday Ishilove! by lezznjr: 8:55am On Oct 03, 2016
makydebbie:
not really that but it will be announced if they are gonna take it...so I'll be prepared, where I stay in Accra they hardly take light
Dumsor comes to mind easily.

That Ghanaian word for irregular, unpredictable power interruption in Ghana has also gone international too.

Now this is more like it.

N.B: I advice any atheist, agnostic to ignore this thread, there isn't much to grab here except childish trolling.

Anybody who now wants attention on NL just need to open a thread with "atheist/atheism" when we start ignoring such nonsense, those who desperately seek our attention to feel relevant will find a better hobby.

Atheists are the one dying for relevance, continually struggling about an entity they say doesn't exist.

Bothers on trying to prove one's insanity.

Really? The thought of it is repulsive actually. Which lady finds it pleasurable? lolz.. strange people exist.

Let's not get it twisted, some girls who tried anal sex have reported a perverse kind of intense pleasure.

Granted slightly painful at first try. But the nerve endings there make the pleasure inescapable.

Sweet taboo

You're right but sometimes I see their Grammer as constituted jargon...sounds unreal to me dunno why..right guess..how did you make out my being from the east?
Lol!

Yes, people confuse grammar for English mastery. The Patrick Senator comes to mind. Any fool can pick up a dictionary and cram up high-sounding words to impress.

But true mystery and beauty of writing and speaking is in clever placement of everyday words and employing grammar only when simple words cannot adequately convey their meanings. That's it.

Study the works of Shakespeare, Achebe, Whrite, Dickson , etc, none were overly verbose....

Which part of the East are you from?
