I had this discussion with a colleague who was fascinated by the lavish lifestyles of most of the young guys around Lekki (We work there, so we see a lot daily). I told this dude that most of these people you see are fraudsters and not into legit business. See their faces! I hope their girlfriends too are seeing them. EFCC suppose put them for TV for all to see.
PoliticsRe: Unemployment Situation In South East,a Ticking Time Bomb-Zinox Chairman by Liberator007(m): 4:06pm On Apr 04, 2018

The Chairman of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh, opined that the unemployment situation in the region is a ticking time bomb, describing it as a social problem of immense ramifications which may see all-inclusive peace elude the nation, if not urgently addressed.

At a 2-day convention organized by the Owerri People’s Assembly, an apex socio-cultural, the Zinox Group boss, said: “The problem of massive unemployment facing the South East region is one that requires concerted efforts from the Federal Government and other stakeholders.

A situation, in which thousands of qualified graduates, most of them with upper class degrees, are still looking for their first jobs 10 or 12 years after leaving school, is highly worrisome. It is a suicidal situation; one that will potentially explode in disastrous consequences, if not immediately addressed.

“If you rely on statistics, there are over a million of such unemployed graduates in the South East. Having such a huge number of active yet unengaged youths concentrated in the region is a serious cause for concern and the Federal Government has a role to play in nipping this situation in the bud,” he stated.

While disclosing that a lot is being done by private individuals and entrepreneurs from the region to ameliorate the situation, Ekeh noted that this was grossly insufficient and urged the Federal Government to partner with such well-meaning Nigerians to achieve more.

“What is required is a joint effort to save our youths. In reality, the State Governments cannot do it alone.

Also, a number of entrepreneurs, businessmen and other well-meaning Nigerians from the region are equally doing their best but it is hardly enough.

Personally, I have been quietly supporting the Imo State Government for many years in creating employment opportunities for youths in various communities in the state.

These investments often exceed the sum of N1 billion yearly but it is like a drop of water in an ocean.

Thank you but sadly, that is the truth. Until the common man realize that, then they would keep falling victims to things like this. God is the only refuge we have in this country. The police will brutalize you, Army will do theirs, SARS are not left out. Innocent lives are being lost everyday.. The victims will only cry and cry and cry. No justice, nothing. As a common man, we should also learn not to pass our boundaries. Not that anywhere is safe, but, with the current security situation in the land, we should also help ourselves.

The intense campaigns against domestic violence, rape, sexual harassment, and inequity in the social backgrounds all too often depend on an image of women as weak and victimized.

Just days ago, Enugu’s very own “n'abania” coroner, 2niteflavour decided to host an unconstrained all night event, to give back much love to his people at 042, just to merry the short Easter celebration but it quite did not turn out as merry rather messy as most did not expect as amount of girls that were sexually harassed and raped at the Concert was heavy’.. The malevolent ill acts that took place in the night seemed improbable to accept but it all took place right at our own very eye, in the presence of an Executive Governor and other top dignitaries sitting. The manifolds of rape cases recorded against Ladies is something worth intense legal investigation by the state government. However there has been numerous reactions coming lately concerning this particular issue, many have called to end all free shows, while others have specifically pointed out at the level of indecency among young girls, which many claim to be the guiding factor why many men are sexually being enticed to them.

Whatever the case or cause might actually be, the most important thing is to sternly label “rape” what it is in all moral sense and ramifications in the society. Rape is a crime which stigmatizes the emotions, a crime of insult, oppression and revenge that needs to be punished because a rapist is a criminal and all crimes and their beneficiaries must be punished. Unfortunate enough, this isn’t the first or probably won’t be the last rape case to be recorded in shows such like the ones Flavour did. To avoid these acts and other numerous ones upcoming, keen steps should be taken fervently before dark.
Good gestures of Eastern big name luminaries to give back to same people who held them aloft during their respective early beginning , such as Flavor, Phyno, and many others have been noticed and has been abused equally. It’s time we say a very big thank you to those guys for the free gestures and look forward to reality at hand. This isn’t the first time an A-list artist is hosting free show with such impure incidents occurring, it took place at Phyno's fest last November. The fiscal constraining on shows and security beef ups is the major solution to this problem, and would go a long way to help curb such acts, just like we all know, you rarely see things like this in Lagos, where the minimum gate pass is exhaustively steep, touts and street rascals are better restricted and regulated when gate fees are beyond there reach, which extensively reminds them that entertainment shows are not medium for sexual violence and abuse. However, when there’s free entrance for rascals, what more do we expect other than mischievous dingbat seeking sexual exploitation.  Whatever comes free is treated in the same manner as given, care free attitude, you don’t expect to have best security guards at events which was not paid for or rather events that lacks constraints of any kind.

To end it all, this is not about indecency as many label it,-girls on denim trousers were raped and clothes torn like men with iron claws -, neither is it about ending or not coming for shows in Enugu city, rather we require more constraints and security alerts, which are the very best solutions to these dreadful acts we’ve witnessed. When people get to pay for shows, they should be properly informed that there money does not cover only the artists to be watched, but also security and safety wise as well.
There’s a saying that goes thus “cheap wine always tastes sour aftertaste” Perhaps it’s well noted now that free things they say comes cheaply and easily, with accompanying ills that follows it. Until we meet the above standards in public shows, it’s most likely and advisable that Ladies should remain indoor tight not unless the safety and constraints of such show is proven to worth it. To those who tagged indecency to such act, let’s not forget the word “indecent” is conventional in meaning, i.e what’s morally justifiable to you might be morally viewed otherwise by another, and that’s not enough reason to involve in or support any criminal acts against a fellow.

Entertainment is meant for pleasure and delight of body and soul, not emotional, mental and physical traumas that associates with rape. They both should remain foes as long as humanitarian is concerned.

This is pathetic but that is to be expected from free shows or cheap shows. The first time Awilo came to perform at the National Stadium in Surulere, a lot of girls were raped. Torn panties, tops, trousers and the likes littered the ground the following day. When you put up shows like this, there has to be presence of heavily armed and fierce looking policemen to provide a little ambience of sanity.

PoliticsRe: Freed Dapchi Schoolgirl Speaks: How We Were Kidnapped, Treated by Liberator007(m): 8:31am On Mar 22, 2018
Ebullience:
One of the Dapchi schoolgirls freed by Boko Haram on Wednesday, Khadija Grema, provided a detailed account of their journey after Boko Haram insurgents abducted them on February 19.

About 110 girls were kidnapped from their secondary school in Dapchi, Yobe State. A total of 105 of them were freed on Wednesday morning by the insurgents who dropped them off in Dapchi without any resistant or confrontation by soldiers.

Clad in hijab (overall gown) that was uniformly sewn for all the girls by the Boko Haram, she said their journey to captivity was a harrowing experience that caused the death of some of her school mates.

“We were at the school, about to break our usual Monday voluntary fast, when the gunmen arrived. Everyone was confused and people were screaming; one of them said we should come close to him. They were shooting and everyone was confused. So we ran towards the school gate,” she said in Dapchi on Wednesday.

“When we got there, they called on one Babangida to bring vehicles. They brought the vehicles and began to drive us away. Outside Dapchi, they asked that who amongst us were fasting. And some of us that were fasting were asked to come down from the vehicle. They gave us Maltina, meat, groundnut cake and pure water.

“We had our prayers after breaking the fast. Then we continued our journey until we got to a place with a big tree, they stopped and we were asked to cook food, it was dark, so they put on lamps.

“After eating, then we continued the journey for a long time until we got to a place where there is river, we came down from the trucks and they asked us to enter some canoes that took us across the river.

“Across the river, they took us to a house in one village that I don’t know; we stayed there for sometime. The next day, they came to ask us to come out and we were taken to the river and continued the journey until we got to where a thick forest area. That was where they kept us; and they have not changed our location since then.

“They have been feeding us very well, they treated us very well. They did not beat us; they did not molest us.

“The people that took us away were all speaking Kanuri and Arabic. They didn’t tell us any meaningful reason why we were freed and returned. They just said we are Muslims and they felt it was right for them to free us so that we will not suffer.”

She said some of the girls, apparently the very young ones, who were trampled upon while they were packed in the vehicles that took them out of Dapchi, died on the way.

“Five girls died while we were on the way to the bush; most of them died because they were trampled upon inside the vehicles,” Khadija said.

She added that their abductors did not molest them sexually.

“They did not molest or sexually harass us,” she said. “They even said it was wrong for women and men to sit in the same place.

One Girl Was Not Freed

Khadija added that all of them were promised that they would one day be allowed to go home except one of the girls, Leah Sherubu, who was a Christian and who refused to put on the Hijab or accept Islam.

“They freed all of us except one girl, Leah whom they said would not go because she was a Christian.”

A parent of one of the freed girls also spoke about the girl not released.

”It was sad when we heard that Leah was not released,” Kachalla Bukar said.

“We were told by the Boko Haram that she was not released because she refused to put on Hijab.”

The terrorists spent about an hour in Dapchi discussing with residents before they left the town.

The freed girls have now been flown to Abuja where they are expected to meet with presidency officials.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Was Paid To Release Dapchi Girls, FG Lied - Sahara Reporters by Liberator007(m): 5:31pm On Mar 21, 2018
joudini:
Contrary to the claims of two ministers of President Muhammadu Buhari, Sahara Reporters can report that a handsome ransom was paid to Boko Haram to secure the release of Dapchi girls freed by the insurgents early Wednesday morning.

Nigeria's Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed as well as Minister of Defense, Mansur Dan-Ali had denied that ransom was paid to Boko Haram to secure the freedom of the girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in their school in Dapchi, Yobe State on 19 February.

The two ministers said instead of paying a ransom, the federal government relied on 'backchannel negotiations" to ensure that the girls were released by Boko Haram.

But investigations by Sahara Reporters revealed that the federal government not only made ransom payment to the insurgents, it also exchanged some Boko Haram prisoners in return for the Dapchi girls.

A security source said Nigerian gov't exchanged some fighters of Boko Haram who left in their 9-vehicle convoy.

However, the lie that no ransom was paid to secure the return of the Dapchi girls followed a consistent pattern of such under the table millions of dollars payments by the Nigerian government to Boko Haram to secure freedom of abductees, especially since the advent of the Buhari administration.

It was believed that huge ‘ransom’ was paid to Boko Haram for freedom of three university lecturers and the 10 women recently released by the insurgents while between two to three million euros were also paid by the Federal Government to Boko Haram in exchange for the release of 82 Chibok girls in 2017.

The BBC had reported that millions of euro in cash were handed over to the insurgents in exchange for the release of the girls in addition to the release of five senior Boko Haram militants were bomb-makers.

"The ransom was €2m. Boko Haram asked for euros. They chose the suspects and gave us the list of girls who would be freed,” BBC quoted a source as confirming the deal with Boko Haram. Sources said Lawal Daura, the Director General of the Department of State
Services, DSS, who has been in charge of the ‘opaque negotiations’ with terrorists has, along with some government officials, build a big business out of kidnap for ransom
negotiations.

#Dapchigirls Boko Haram militants did not come with a single gun, they exchanged pleasantries with community leaders and left after dropping the girls off.

Analysts have also argued that the eagerness of the Buhari administration to pay ransom for abductees is fueling the thirst of various factions of Boko Haramfor mass kidnappings.
Nigerian lawmakers had alluded to this during a debate on the abduction of Dapchi girls at the plenary of the Senate last month.

The lawmakers had argued that Boko Haram now kidnap women and girls so as to negotiate and "get money” from the federal government "just like the case of Chibok girls.” “What happened is a lesson for us. That Boko Haram sees girls or women as value targets. What they did in Chibok earned them some funds, because negotiations were held somehow and they got a lot of money," Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan said during the debate.

“They devise a means of going to abduct people so that they would negotiate with the federal government for ransom. It happened with the recent abduction of Maiduguri staff that were on an exploration. The government negotiated with them and they got money. Now they have been empowered, even with police officers wives, the federal government went and negotiated with them and they were given money,” Senator Joshua Lidani representing Gombe South said.

“We need to be very proactive in this case because the idea of sitting down to always negotiating and paying ransom with this action, we are empowering the Boko- Haram so that they would continue to do more,” he added. SaharaReporters early Wednesday broke the news of the release of the kidnapped girls.

EducationRe: WAEC Is Confused – MURIC, Reveals What Timetable Can Cause In Nigeria by Liberator007(m): 5:45pm On Mar 19, 2018
2Ebisco:
A religious group, the Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, on Monday described the 2018 examinations timetable recently released by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, as volatile, warning that the timetable is capable of causing a disturbance of public peace if it erodes the Jumat period.

WAEC recently scheduled Chemistry for 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday April 20, 2018. But following criticisms from MURIC, the subject was moved backwards to Tuesday April 10, 2018. However, ceramics (Essay) and Forestry (Essay) will now be held on Friday April 20, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

While stressing that Muslims all over the world attend Jumat prayer in their mosques from 1 – 2.30 pm on Fridays, MURIC, in a statement by its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, pointed out that educational institutions and offices often leave a two-hour window (from 1 to 3 pm) for the faithful to go and worship.

The Director of Public Affairs, WAEC Nigeria, Mr. Demianus Ojijeogu had confirmed the slight amendment, stating that “For the sake of the people who will go to the mosque, the exam will be delayed till they come back. The paper will be delayed till 2:30 pm or 3 pm, when the Muslims will return from the mosque”.

But MURIC is not satisfied with Ojijeogu’s explanation, maintaining that it is not convincing enough, and “leaves Muslim candidates at the mercy of WAEC’s ad hoc staff, invigilators and supervisors, some of whom can be overzealous Muslim-haters”.

Akintola said in the statement; “Even if it is true, this amendment still needs clarification from WAEC. For instance, we need to know whether or not some Muslim candidates take these two subjects (Ceramics and Forestry). Yet this may not be the end of our inquiry even if no Muslim candidate has registered for the subjects this year because some Muslim candidates are likely to show interest in them in the near future.

“The ideal thing for WAEC to do, therefore, is to steer clear completely from scheduling any examination during the Jumat period. There is no need to stereotype Muslims and the subjects they are likely to take. Knowledge is a universal thing and candidates are not likely to consider religion as a factor when choosing their subjects.

“The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, was shocked by the first timetable released by WAEC. It was unfair, tyrannical and provocative. It was equally myopic, thoughtless and parochial. This ‘amended’ version presupposes that WAEC is confused.

“We were shocked because issues like this had been trashed out with WAEC before. For WAEC to have tried this again, we strongly suspect that the regional examination body is suffering from chronic administrative amnesia.

“WAEC appears confused because there are three other clashes on the ‘amended’ timetable which WAEC did not address at all. Social Studies (Objective) is slated for 1 – 1.50 pm on Friday 4th May, 2018 while Electronics (Objective) is also billed to take place between 1 and 3 pm on Friday 11th May, 2018. Woodwork is equally scheduled for the same day from 12 – 3 pm. So how do we reconcile all these? WAEC is out to slay Muslim candidates.

“Placed pari passu with the ‘amended’ timetable, it is clear that WAEC’s spokesperson seeks to deceive Muslim candidates. He is leading them into a trap. If indeed the timetable has been amended and Chemistry has been moved to morning period on Tuesday 10th April, 2018, why would there be any need for “the exam would be delayed till they come back” since it would no longer be taken on a Friday.

“WAEC spokesperson also spoke of the paper being delayed till “…2.30 pm or 3 pm”. This is supposed to be a policy matter. Is he not so sure? Which one should WAEC ad hoc officials operate? 2.30 pm deadline or 3 pm? WAEC is speaking from both sides of its mouth.

“We recall our press statement dated 26th August, 2015 under the caption “WAEC Examination Timetable is an Invitation to Chaos”. That press statement was issued three years ago when WAEC fixed three different subjects between the hours of 1pm and 3 pm on three consecutive Fridays running from 11th, 18th, and 25th September of that year. MURIC cried foul and WAEC later adjusted its timetable.

“So what has changed since then? Does WAEC intend to bring examination materials to its Muslim candidates in the mosque? Is WAEC asking Muslim candidates to choose between worshipping and their examination just as some religious bigots told Muslim students in the past? Is this not an attempt by WAEC to jeopardize the interest and future of Muslim candidates? Is this also not a deliberate attempt to ease out Muslims from vital degree courses like medicine, pharmacy, nursing, etc?

“Once is happenstance, twice is a coincidence but the third time is enemy action. The 2015 incident was not the first time. Is WAEC targeting Muslim candidates for destabilization? It appears the only language WAEC understands is force. Although Muslims will not resort to the use of force, we will resist WAEC’s illegal, unlawful, illegitimate and unconstitutional manipulation of its timetable to deprive Muslim candidates of their Allah-given fundamental right to worship as enshrined in Section 38 (i) & (ii) of the 2011 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. Any WAEC timetable which trespasses into the Jumat period (12 – 3 pm on Friday) is therefore ultra vires, null and void.

“By this press statement, we are notifying the Federal Ministry of Education of the volatile nature of WAEC’s timetable. It is capable of causing a disturbance of public peace if it erodes the Jumat period. Nigeria has witnessed enough religious riots and the Ministry must call WAEC to order.

“WAEC’s regional status notwithstanding, the Ministry of Education owes it a duty to ensure that no educational exercise capable of stirring civil disturbance is allowed to take place under its watch. The Ministry of Education should have an input in an exercise of this magnitude. In view of the fact that WAEC keeps repeating the same irritating and illegal time table year after year, we suggest that from now on, WAEC time tables should be scrutinized by the ministry of education to ensure that nothing unlawful creeps into it.

“Muslim candidates and their parents will be left with no choice than to mobilize to WAEC examination centers in peaceful protest if this complaint is ignored.

“We demand a WAEC timetable that leaves the 12 – 3 pm window which Muslims need for Jumat service untouched. An ideal examination timetable for Friday will therefore be 9 am to 12 noon and 3.30 – 6 pm. In fact, heaven will not fall if examinations are limited to morning period on Fridays.

“The WAEC timetable imbroglio has once again brought the Friday Question to focus. We have no iota of doubt that WAEC will have no audacity to fix an examination during the Jumat period if Friday is free like Sunday. Or should we simply ask WAEC to fix one subject for the Jumat period and another one on Sunday morning from 9 am to 12 noon, at least for parity? How does that sound? Who feels it knows it. WAEC should stop oppressing Muslims. All we are saying is: Give Us Jumat period. Respect Allah, our Creator, even if you don’t respect us.

“WAEC is pursuing an aggressive anti-Islam policy. Fixing examinations during Jumat service gives non-Muslims undue advantage over Muslims. This is discriminatory and unjust. WAEC has lost its soul.

“To round up, we charge the Federal Ministry of Education to call WAEC to order. We advise WAEC authorities to consult widely when fixing its timetable because no public institution is an island, entire of itself. WAEC should note that the Jumat period (12 – 3 pm) is not negotiable for any subject. We urge Muslims to remain calm, to eschew violence but to be alert and watchful. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.”

http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/03/waec-is-confused-muric-reveals-what.html
This man is hell bent on starting a religious war. What has WAEC got to do with Jumat? The students can abandon the exams and go for Jumat na. They have a choice. Secondly, they might decide to go to Arabic schools and leave out this kind of education.
Christianity EtcRe: "A Mad Man Told Me To Buy Fuel After My Car Broke Down" - Man by Liberator007(m): 3:12pm On Mar 19, 2018
FlirtyKaren:
Read Fola Olatunji-David's story below:

God is still in the business of embarrassing us with miracles.

Mentally deranged man's photo used for illustration purposes only
Summary
My car stopped on the road today in Surulere.

Was stranded for 45 mins trying to diagnose and find help.

A half naked MADMAN shows up and tells me what to do (go buy fuel).

15 mins later, problem solved.

History:
Took the car to the shop for some mechanical work a few days back... As per Naija mechanic (fix one, spoil another), he spoilt the fuel gauge. So I didn't realise I was out of fuel (guage was still well over half, and i hadn't driven car in days to remember proper level)

After my informed diagnosis of problem elimination, I conclude that the new fuel pump that was replaced must have been fake. Thank God I kept the old one right? Wrong! I start to struggle with the back seat of the Toyota to access the fuel pump cannister.

Just to be on the safe side, I decide to try starting again. I was wearing a white dress shirt, and was already half soaked in sweat. This guy shows up shirtless and starts to shout "Na the fuel". Thinking it was a tout, I just ignored and continued my "work

After 10 mins of struggling and not making headway, I step out of the car to catch my breath. This guy starts walking to me, it was then I realised that he wasn't a boy in the hood showing off his abs, but a middle aged man who was mentally unbalanced and destitute. MAD MAN!

I was certain today was an unfortunate day because not only was my car bad on Eric Moore Road, I was going to be accosted by a mad man. He calmly walks up to me and says "Oga it's the fuel, go and buy fuel". I said thank you to let him leave me peacefully, and he did!

A few problems here (in my mind):
1. My gauge said otherwise
2. Even if, I didn't have a keg to buy the fuel
3. I didnt know where to buy the fuel
4. It definitely wasn't the fuel - I now remembered that I bought a full tank less than a week, and hadn't gone anywhere with it

30 seconds later, this guy comes back with a dirty 5 litres keg with a makeshift cover made of all the nylons and "pure water" satchets he could find, and says I should "leave here and go buy fuel". Y'all know that in Nigeria, leave here is not an advice, it's a warning.

I decided I needed a break either ways, and I was probably in his turf. As I was flagging a bike he didn't say a word, just looked at me like he was going to sell my car the moment I went out of view. Today couldnt get worse! Have you had a mad man angry at you before?

Anyways, I make a quick trip to the conoil up the road, and come back. Get back to my car and the mad man was gone! Hallelujah. Next up create a funnel out of empty plastic water bottle, I grab one bottle from the car, looking for something sharp to cut it.

Couldnt find something in the car so decided to improvise. Immediately I came out the car guess who was holding an already cut bottle... Yes, this mad man. He gives me and moves back (as you would if you gave someone something very dear to you). I was half spooked, half amused.

Anyways, i pour the fuel, run the engine and the car starts on the spot as if I just drove from servicing... I couldn't believe it. I had reluctantly bought the fuel and wasn't expecting it to work. Stunned i start to thank the guy and he was just smiling.

I reached out to thank him, but by now he was back to being mad... talking complete rubbish and point to the ground and stuff! I forced 1000 on him and left. Mad as in, kolo!

Fam! God made a mad man temporarily gain his sanity to sort me out!!!

I grew up hearing my father proclaim "I can never be stranded" and "I was young and now old and never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed beg bread"... Today, those words became life.

It's more amazing because I'm not righteous, not by a mile, but its a continuous testament of God's love and commitment to embarrassing us with his mercy and grace!

I repeat, God used a mad man to help me! Wow.

So common sense didn't tell you you had run out of fuel. You are madder than the mad man

CEOconcord:
President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the amendment to the Electoral Act, which intended to change the country's elections sequence. The president, it was gathered, gave three reasons for withholding assent to the bill, which was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.

Sources said that the president has yesterday communicated his decision to the federal legislature in two separate letters addressed to the Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara. The two presiding officers are expected to read the letters to their colleagues at plenary between today and Thursday. Following the passage of the bill by the National Assembly, several civil society organizations (CSOs), senior lawyers and other notable Nigerians kicked against it, calling on the president not to assent to it.

This bill aims to strengthen our democracy and for a self acclaimed 'reformed democrat', it is shocking and appalling that the President has refused to sign it. Well, let the senate override him and let the supreme court judge.
PoliticsRe: "I Never Knew IGP Moved To Nasarawa After I Sent Him To Benue" - Buhari by Liberator007(m): 6:08pm On Mar 12, 2018
spartan117:
President Muhammadu Buhari has denied knowledge of days which the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris spent in Benue State after he was ordered to relocate to the state.

President Buhari said this on Monday during a meeting with some stakeholders at the Government House in Makurdi, the state capital.

On January 9, the President had ordered the Inspector General of Police to immediately move to Benue State to restore law and order and prevent further loss of lives and properties, from escalating and spreading in the state.

Although Mr Idris obeyed the President’s directive, he reportedly left Benue State for Nasarwa State.

Addressing stakeholders at the Government House in Makurdi the President said he is just learning of the alleged noncompliance by the IGP but as a loyal leader, he will engage the IGP for inquires upon his return to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

“What I did was to call him and give him the directive. I didn’t know he moved here (Benue State) and didn’t spend … and then moved to Nasarawa. It’s only now that I am knowing that.

“But I know I dispatched him here,” the President said.

Buhari made this explanation following demands by Governor Samuel Ortom that the IGP steer clear of partisan politics as a Police Chief and desist from holding an opinion on which law to implement or not.

Buhari said further that as a leader loyalty is very important.

The President said he operates with this watchword. According to him, the IGP is slow in using the intelligence and resources available to him but as a loyal leader, all he did was give the directive to the IGP instead publicly exposing his incompetence.

PoliticsRe: Why The Next Election In Ekiti Will Be The Most Competitive In Nigeria(Reasons) by Liberator007(m): 5:05pm On Mar 12, 2018
blogbuilder:
In the next four months, electorates in Ekiti State will be voting for a Governor who will take over the affair of the state for the next four years.

Awareness have been on since last year as it was seen on the posters in most town in Ekiti and on social media.

Many of the aspirants are strategising in order to make their popularity known to their party by taking their campaign to the grassroot.
Example of this was portrayed by Mr Bimbo Daramola who started an initiative of buying 1000 Jamb form for the indigenes of the state .

With observation on the heat of campaign by the political parties in the state , one out of the two major parties in the state(PDP and APC) will produce who'll wear the crown.

Ekiti will be producing the 11th governor in 19years

Here are the reasons

Fayose will like to retain the state under PDP:As we all know that Ekiti state is the only southwestern state that is being govern by pdp. The likes of Fayose, Wike and co will like to retain the mandate for their party. Losing Ekiti state to APC will have impacts on PDP especially in 2018 general election.

APC will like to win the state: Using the case of Lagos State as an example, during Goodluck Jonathan regime, PDP try every possible best to win Lagos State because it was the only state under the opposition since 1999 in the southwest then.
If you think APC will not do anything possible to win the election, then you may be wrong.

It's the most competitive governorship election ever in Ekiti state :I haven't seen a more competitive gubernatorial election like this in Nigeria since 1999. Do you believe that people contesting for APC primary election in the state are more than 25.
In total, more than 60 candidates are vying for the post ..Apart from this, more people will still show interest.

Many of the Aspirants are not first timers in the game: Yes, you heard it right. Most of the aspirants are not first timer. The likes of M.O.B ,Orire has contested in the previous gubernatorial election. Some are political office holder ranging form senators to deputy governor, appointees and so on.

It will draw a lot of international observers: Since the last general election where Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat against Buhari, International community has been shifting their attention to Nigeria elections. Most of the international organisation will like to come so as know how the election will be.

Remember, this election is like a preparation ground for the next general election...
Babafemi Ojudu is conspicuously missing from that list.

deji17:
Alcohol consumers, smokers to pay more as federal govt raises excise duty

By News Agency of Nigeria -
March 11, 2018

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved an amendment to the excise duty rates for alcoholic beverages and tobacco with effect from Monday, June 4, 2018 the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, has said.
In a statement in Abuja on Sunday, Adeosun said the President also granted a grace period of 90 days to manufacturers of the products before the commencement of the new duty regime.
She said the new excise duty rates would spread over a three-year period from 2018 to 2020 in order to moderate the impact on prices of the products.

The minister said the new duty regime followed all-inclusive stakeholder engagements by the Tariff Technical Committee of the Federal Ministry of Finance with key industry stakeholders.
According to her, the upward review of the excise duty rates for alcoholic beverages and tobacco was to raise the government’s fiscal revenues.
She said that it would also reduce the health hazards associated with tobacco-related diseases and alcohol abuse.
Adeosun said the new duty rate on tobacco was a combination of the existing ad-valorem base rate and specific rate while the ad-valorem rate was replaced with a specific rate for alcoholic beverages.
“For alcoholic beverages, the current ad-valorem rate will be replaced with specific rates and spread over three years to moderate the impact on prices.

“This will curb the discretion in the Unit Cost Analysis for determining the ad-valorem rate and prevent revenue leakages.
“For tobacco, the government will maintain the current ad-valorem rate of 20 per cent and introduce additional specific rates with the implementation to be spread over a three-year period to also reasonably reduce the impact on prices,’’ Adeosun said.

She said that under the newly approved excise duty rates for tobacco in addition to the 20 per cent ad-valorem rate, each stick of cigarette will attract one naira specific rate per stick, that is N20 per pack of 20 sticks in 2018,
She said that tobacco would in 2019 attract duties of two naira specific rate per stick, that is N40 per pack of 20 sticks in 2019 and N2.90 kobo specific rate per stick, that is N58 per pack of 20 sticks in 2020.
Adeosun explained that Nigeria’s cumulative specific excise duty rate for tobacco was 23.2 per cent of the price of the most sold brand as against 38.14 per cent in Algeria, 36.52 per cent in South Africa and 30 per cent in Gambia.
She said also that the new specific excise duty rate for alcoholic beverages cut across beer and stout, wines and spirits for the three years, 2018 to 2020.

Under the new regime, beer and stout will attract .30k per centilitre in 2018 and 35k per cl each in 2019 and 2020.
Wines will attract N1.25k per Cl in 2018 and N1.50k per Cl each in 2019 and 2020, while N1.50k per Cl was approved for spirits in 2018, N1.75k per Cl in 2019 and N2 per Cl in 2020.
Adeosun said that the new excise duty regimes were in line with the Economic Community of West African States directive on the harmonisation of member-states’ legislation on excise duties.
The ECOWAS Council of Ministers had at its 62nd and 79th Ordinary Sessions in Abuja in May 2009 and December 2017, issued directives on the harmonisation of the ECOWAS Member States’ Legislations on Excise Duties.
The directives seek to harmonise member-states’ legislations on excise duties of non-oil products and also stipulate the scope of application, rate of taxation, taxable event and amount.

CelebritiesRe: Afia Schwarzenegger Blasts President Buhari: "Grab A Bible & Read Mathew 7:3-5" by Liberator007(m): 4:55pm On Mar 08, 2018
EmagNig:
A lot of people listened to President Buhari’s speech during Ghana’s 61st Independence celebrations. However, not many, including controversial celebrity Afia Schwarzenegger, were impressed.

The President of Nigeria said Nigeria will help Ghana fight corruption. This didn’t go down well with citizens from both countries as everybody knows corruption especially within political office, is what has relegated the ‘Giant of Africa’ to the background with poverty ravaging its people.

Anyway, while reacting to Buhari’s speech, Afia Schwarzenegger called out Buhari and directed him to Mathew 7:3-5.

She wrote:

According to the passage where she directed the Nigeria's president to read from:

In other words, Afia Schwarzenegger thinks President Buhari is a hypocrite for saying Nigeria will help Ghana fight corruption. The Ghanaian OAP wants the Nigerian leader to tackle corruption first in his country rather than attack others for their small flaws while ignoring Nigeria’s massive ones.

President Buhari was the guest speaker at Ghana's 61st independence anniversary. And in his speech to the country people of Ghana, the Nigerian president had mentioned that Nigeria will assist Ghana in fighting corruption.

This statement angered a lot of Ghanaians and some even instructed President Buhari to tackle the snake that swallowed money in his country first and then later come to Ghana to help them fight corruption.

https://lailasnews.com/ghanaian-celebrity-afia-schwarzenegger-blasts-president-buhari/
Why Buhari is so fixated on this word - corruption- is still a mystery. Even if called to give a sermon at a funeral, he will still tell the dead that he would help them fight corruption. The main reason is simply because he is so corrupt himself and that is the only word that comes to him - corruption, corruption, corruption.

This morning I was supposed to switch classes. On getting to one of the classes, I met the English teacher teaching ,so I signalled to her to round up her class. Just then I got interested in what she was teaching...

I really weep for the generations coming... This is what our education system has been reduced to.

Note this is a government owned school
There is need to declare a state of emergency in the education sector. This is a sad development but it is more worse with those corp members who still need to be taught. I have been saying this and will continue to say it. Teaching is more than holding the chalk or reading from a textbook to students/pupils. Why make corp members teach? Most of them are empty heads. They end up doing more harm than good.

Water was poured on him and food (garri) given to him as those who tied him up did all they could to bring him back from the “excited state”.
