Treason is a very serious offense that shouldn't be trivialized by any serious government. The most paranoid person is the person afraid of his own shadow. |
Nonsense and its ingredient. The next assembly will most likely reverse it |
OK |
Is that allowed? Lawyers in the building. I think the lawyers of the defendants should also be in attendance in such a meeting. |
The Yoruba elites could be likened to Ostriches who bury their heads in the sand thinking that it is safe and no one sees it. This issue of herdsmen taking over forests in the Yoruba nation has been trending for a while but they chose to ignore it. I have listened to the unending complaint about this on radio from a retired military officer. The herdsmen have been reported to have attacked and ransacked villages in the Yoruba land but all the elders and leaders could do is to bicker on who to lick the balls of their masters better. The South West could be easily overran by the herdsmen should they decide to strike. |
I hope the students have not 'bought market'. The school management should immediately step in to avert the looming trouble. |
There's obviously something wrong with the recently released UTME result. Why parents and guardians are silent is what I don't understand. Like the OP mentioned above, a couple of high flying students I know who should obtain not less than 300 got way below that. I will encourage the OP not to relent in pursuing this redress. This might instigate other candidates who rightly feel shortchanged to seek redress. |
Is she married? If not another wife for the emir might be loading... Na joke o |
Coincidentally, I still received a call from a former colleague some minutes ago on this same issue. Almost all able bodied young men want to leave Nigeria at least for the sake of their children. The desperation hasn't been this huge. |
What does the law of Lagos state says about illegal dumping of refuse? If this humiliation I see here isn't part of the punishment stated by the law, then the officers who treated him like that should brace up for possible litigation. Two wrongs don't make a right. A substantial fine would have been appropriate. |
It will take a miracle for Ngige to return as a minister in the next level cabinet amidst all these recent imbroglio. Labour should not expect too much as he has the government's backing on this issue. What was the outcome of Oshiomole's threat to Ngige the other time? |
Isn't it strange that the CBN didn't claim that the tape was doctored? It can only mean that there's no way to cover this up. I have a feeling that someone is about to be given the Onoghen treatment. |
Strangely, the CBN didn't claim that the tape was doctored. I hope someone is not about to be given the Onoghen treatment. |
The Generallismo should not only talk tough but act tough. Almost all Yoruba forests are occupied by these herdsmen. |
What I learnt from the recent JAMB's drama is that the best way for any government institution or official to mask its incompetence and mistake is to shout ' We are fighting corruption' and like a spell, everyone would be beaten into line. The credibility of the recently released result has been eroded and higher institutions would most likely not rely majorly on it but on the post utme conducted by the schools. To even add insult to injury, the candidtates are to pay #50 again to check their result. I do not know if there is a competition between agents of government on who can exploit the masses more. |
Lord! If the Emir is this financially reckless, I can bet that Ganduje will see to his removal. |
I won't allow anyone use me to settle personal scores with his adversaries. Never! Where are the recently installed kings in Ibadan today? In any case, good luck to all of them. |
Your Highness, it is unfair to hit a man when he is already down. Hate is a strong word. What's the basis for saying he hates the Ijebu people? Is it because he refused to support a candidate from Ogun East or because of the perceived lopsidedness in citing infrastructural project? |
Something to cheer about. Thumps up to the government on this. |
Can you imagine. How can someone caught on camera not once stuffing his babanriga with foreign currency have the moral right to initiate financial misappropriation probe against anyone? Of course, the Emir isn't above the law but he who comes to equity should come with clean hands. Here is a man who used the court to stop the state assembly from further probe of his embarrassing and scandalous Dollar stuffing footage. |
Almost all the current members of the APC today have their root from the PDP. Guy men just dey use the heads of their followers to play 'ten-ten' I personaly do not think INEC has the legal right to withhold the certificate of return for candidates already returned. Both parties should approach the court and settle ds once and for all. |
Christianity was generally believed to have started from Egba Land in Ogun State. I don't know of civilization. |
It's good that the complaint isn't coming from one Igwe or an Oba. I've noticed that those who called a certain former president clueless and all forms of names for insecurity back then have suddenly lost their voice now or trying to explain away the unfortunate seemingly incompetence of the people in power now. The Emir should have a direct access to the CinC. |
Congratulations. I hope his tenure will bring immense benefits to Nigeria. |
He should be given fair hearing. No one would have been alarmed by if not because of the penchant of this administration for ignoring court orders. Over all, let justice be served. |
Ordinarily, the police should be empowered and emboldened enough to make arrests and detention whenever there are infractions without being remote controlled. The Distinguished Senator should be availed the opportunity to defend himself as provided by the constitution. |
It will be very hard for a civilian government to remove such a highly placed monarch. The much Ganduje can do is to break the emirate into components so as to withtle down the influence of the Emir. But then whatever he is able to do could be undone after the expiration of his tenure. |
Its either the charges back then were trumped up charges to get him behind bars by the khaki boys OR our current anti-corruption crusader is a mere hypocrite. Whatever, can anyone appoint a 74 years old man to manage his business? |
Damn! JAMB should first apologize to the candidates for its inability to release the result last week as promised. The credibility of the result is getting eroded each day by the delay. My sympathy with the candidates and their parents. The wait could be torturing. |
Somehow and as weird as this proposition is, I feel it should be given a consideration. We don't just have to borrow a system hook line and sinker, we should be creative enough to evolve a system that better suit our peculiarity. |
