No one will admit to such But Nigerians can discern. The state assemblies are examples |
This was a government that lavished millions of naira on drum festival about two months ago. Sad |
AIT should be thankful for this "extra security' provided at no cost |
Good to hear that the government agent obeys the court order this time. The upturned suspension of AIT licence couldn't have been because of the documentary. I do not think there is anything inflammatory about it as all facts mentioned are already in the public domain. |
This is tragic and sheer carelessness on the part of the construction company. How do you leave such a huge hole at the center of a major road. The families of the deceased should sue for adequate compensation and the company properly sanctioned. |
Someone once asked Do we have more stringer regulators than the USA? Are we more democratically inclined than the USA? Why then is the CNN still operating? Who determines the red line and when it is crossed? All stations can't be like the NTA. Some people yearn for balanced reportage. |
He has the means to make more than 10 people to carry that bag for him. |
Is Dogara not contesting again? |
They should have told him to his face. Simple |
Fintiri will likely do the same thing if the table turns in 2023. Who would have thought that Amosun of Ogun State who disengaged those employed by his predecessor will turn also turn around to employ people at the twilight of his administration. They are just two sides of the same coin. |
He appears to be a round peg in a round hole. From the OP, he is home grown and a thorough bred professional. Good luck to him in the new assignment. To the governor, I hope we won't have a plethora of SAs and SSAs doing almost nothing and depleting the scarce resources. I sincerely hope so. |
It is still an aberration for the state assemblies to sack the democratically elected local government chairmen and councilors under any guise. Those involved themselves knew the actions are illegal but still went ahead to enforce it. The plot is simple, by the time the affected people will get judgement from court, their tenure wpuld have lapsed. Methinks the new government should have let them be. Even though they were installed by the previous administration, most of them will naturally switch allegiance to the new government in a matter of months. |
If Akpabio isn't made a minister, an ambassador or given a very prominent role in this new government, he might return to PDP before 2020. |
Sanusi has been caught in a web and it will be extremely hard to extricate himself. I don't envy him at this moment. Instead of responding to the query, the Emir should either honorably resign and leave the throne for Ganduje or approach the court to stop any further action on the probe. After all the governor once plead with the court to stop his probe of his babanriga dollar stuffing clips. |
A rubber stamped legislature is a threat to democracy and good governance. We can clearly see this in various states where the governors annexed state assemblies and turned the lawmakers to 'yes men'. Saraki should walk with his shoulder high for giving a good fight and standing up to those who would have loved to see the legislature turned to mere appendages of the executive and be ordered around. |
There is no way PMB wouldn't have a security report on Gbaja before throwing his weight behind him. It might be a weapon to blackmail him later. |
Karma is a female dog. The new governor should eschew vengeance, arrogance, bitterness, pettiness, greediness and haughtiness. All of these are not missing in a certain former emperor- governor who forgot that power is transient and thought himself a demigod |
Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. So many baggages and interests to take care of. Osoba's Group, Bourdillion Group, OGD's Group, Disgruntled Amosun's group who didn't leave with him, not to talk of GNI's side. He needs all the patience , wisdom and a lot of give and take to settle these interests. |
The cut-off will be deliberately lowered to lure candidates with low UTME scores into buying the Post-UTME forms of these institutions that could be as high as #5000. The greatest rip off is the insistence of institutions on candidates making them first choice before being eligible for Post-UTME screening. This costs between #3000 - #3500. Why give the candidates the opportunity to choose four institutions of their choice ab initio? This appears like organized and government sanctioned extortion. |
Petty. Dino can do better |
It is most certain that the money Abacha allegedly stole and laundered must have been from the crude oil sale and deals. If this position is true, how do we conveniently divorce Abacha's theft from his petroleum minister? |
Government agencies should not wait till the damage has been done before moving against these fraudsters. The proliferation of various Ponzi schemes after MMM has entered the alarming stage. Heck, they even advertise on radio |
What else do you expect from the privileged and emboldened marauders? After successfully sacking and kidnapping Monarchs, they stepped up to Local Government Chairmen. It is natural for them to aim for a bigger 'fish' hence the attack on the governor. The monster the North birthed and nurtured seems to have gone out of control and is rready to consume the region. |
The plot is getting thicker. Someone should begin to prepare a soft landing for Oshiomole. He will last in that position only as long as the presidency desires. He might get a relief if he is able to install Lawan and Gbaja |
Next is to investigate the Bullion Vans and their content. |
Good move. Hope it won't be sabotaged from enemies within |
The only thing Osnbajo's group should do now is to allow the SIP be subjected to forensic auditing by reputable firms. Regardless, I have always queried the rationale behind borrowing huge funds to be given as handouts to the 'poor' in a country where there is no credible data base. It is fraudulent and those involved know so. |

PDP, APC, different sides of the same coin. APC just did the same in Ogun |
The government can't really justify further keeping Dasuki in the illegal detention when the person who authorized the alleged reckless spending is roaming free. The Dasuki unending detention and disobedience to court orders reeks of personal vendetta. As for Elzakzaky, the idea of protective custody is laughable. Sometimes one wonders who is more dangerous to National Security. Elzakzaky or the 'repented' Boko Haram deadly fighters being reintegrated into society. |
The government may have truly deployed huge sums of money for the program but definitely it may not have gotten to the intended beneficiaries. After all we know how much the infamous Grass Cutter allegedly stole from PINE. I don't know of any serious nation that borrows huge amount a of money only to give it out as handouts to the 'poor and vulnerable' Aisha should watch her back. |
Its a Friday in a month of Ramadan and in Borno State, it is not unexpected. These ones too will be fighting the governor for minimum wage soon. If this can happen at the state capital, one can imagine what the situation will probably be at the government offices in remote areas. The civil service in Nigeria is largely seen as a social intervention program where beneficiaries get paid for doing almost nothing. A visit to Federal Secretariat in various states especially on Fridays will leave much to be desired. |
