PoliticsRe: Most Foolish President: How Buhari Set Tinibu Up For Disgrace by Lifestone(m): 7:52am On Jul 19, 2023
nicedayontop:
Tinubu has taken the best set of decisions since he became the president. Even the other candidates never say they would not remove subsidy. Anything or policy that will make Nigeria to stop borrowing in order to subsidize petrol consumption is highly welcomed. We can't eat our cake and have it. It is so obvious that Nigeria will go with the subsidy system going by the rate and amount of borrowing during Buhari government. This is positive economics as against normative economics. Unfortunate, many Nigerians don't understand the dangers ahead if we continue with subsidy regime.
Subsidy is dead. BAT should show prudence and urgency in Governance. I expect to see massive cut down on government frivolous expenditures, immediate implementation of Orosanye report, stronger fight against corruption, stoppage of Crude theft and increase crude oil production.
He should sit down in Nigeria and let's fix our issues and stop all these travellings. He's got his hand filled up.

PoliticsRe: Most Foolish President: How Buhari Set Tinibu Up For Disgrace by Lifestone(m): 9:44pm On Jul 18, 2023
SOSinNigeria:
Tinibu has proven to be the most foolish president in history. Even Buhari everyone thought was dull succeeded in playing him for a fool.

Buhari, just like other presidents before him knew that removing subsidy without working refineries will spell doom. So, what did he do? He carefully set the date for subsidy removal to coincide with when he would be out of government. He gazetted that he has removed subsidy with a futuristic date. He took the glory yet used Tinibu as the mugu to take the blames.

Having raised hordes of tribal bigots, sycophants and propagandists to back him up, Tinubu thought he could ride roughshod on Nigerians. He removed subsidy on his first day as president. As if that wasn't bad enough, he flew the naira! He then basked in the glory of being a tough president who could walk where angels dread to go. Little did he know he was only digging his own pit.

Now, fuel price has continued to rise astronomically while naira continues to crash against the dollar. Tinibu must have realized his folly by now but it's too late. He can't bring back subsidy without appearing like a demented fool. Neither can he regulate the naira as was done before without making a caricature of himself. As things stand now, Tinibu can't do anything to save himself. Very soon naira will get to 1000 per dollar and fuel will get to 1000 per litre.

Even his bigots and sycophants are too hungry and too frustrated to put up a fight on his behalf. He has disgraced them completely and Obidients now make mockery of them everyday.

I bet Buhari, Jonathan and Obasanjo must be laughing hard at Tinibu and his foolishness.
Are you saying the two policies are wrong. Common, maybe I should listen to your alternatives to the position of BAT. Strong leaders take tough decisions.

I agree with Bwala on this. Yorubas don't play politics of bitterness, emotions, sentiments, Ethnicity or religion.

They play politics of inclusiveness and National politics.

But you see the SE, there kind of politics will never allow them produce the president.

The SE will need to change their style of politics. Begin to play National politics, build bridges.

Tinubu is our president until 2031
If you follow history, you will see that Yoruba politics have evolved from pre-independent regional politics to the mainstream that we are now. We also have to learn tolerance given the heavy bloodshed that followed the 1964 and 1983 elections. We learnt bitter lessons.
My belief is that we are more open to accommodate and respect the choices of others, this is why Peter Obi won the Presidential election in Lagos and Atiku in Osun. People talk about the Governorship election in Lagos, IGBOS messed GRV up by the way they were bragging after winning the Presidential election, if they have remained humble, they could have succeeded. But no, chest beating won't allow them

gidgiddy:
Sit at home has assumed a life of its own in a violent country like Nigeria, the 8th most terrorised on earth. Frankly, when I see pictures of mass graves from Southern Kaduna to Benue, I would rather people sat at home and stayed safe

Here in my neighbourhood in Enugu, Monday has become extra rest day. Government believes it can stop sit at home by rolling out the military on the streets. Little do they know that even if you roll out all the military in Africa on streets of the South East, not only wont it stop sit at home, it will make it worse

In the South East, people hate the Police and military more than they hate those enforcing sit at home. Who can blame them? You are more likely to be traumatised and killed by a Soldier than someone who wants you to stay in your house.

How does the government think that the sight of Soldiers and tanks on the streets is going to make anyone come outside? That one is more likely to frighten a civilian than anything else

They only way to stop sit at home is to talk to those calling for it, so they may call it off

Any other thing is a waste of time.
Congratulations. Good for you guys

Yorubas owned the largest stores in Nigeria and the biggest Auto Shops in Nigeria ahead of cosharis I have alway told you guys that there's nothing for Yorubas to envy or Jealous on the igbos.
My focus here is their market, not their business. I can assure you that 2week closure in Lagos and Igbos will lose all the little market advantage they have. It will mean lesser competition and hence good business for others. Idumota without igbos will be good business for the Yorubas

I think it's because of the influx of Igbos into South West that is our concern. Also your yearly home trip allows Soth West cities to breath, since this Epka saga, igbos refused to go home for Christmas and stayed behind in South West.

I don't see what's the problem with their choices. Other businesses should be prepared to take over their market. It's an opportunity for Lagos State Government to retrieve the mess these guys have turned Marina, Broad Street and other of Lagos to.
If they like let them stay at home for one year. That's cool. Ebano supermarket, Choscaris all should remember to close shop

Cowards die many times before their death, cowardice and timidity runs in the veins of an average Yoruba man. Why is that Simon Ekpa has not tried sit at home in any S/S state? because he knows the consequence of such an action, but every tribe is making a mockery of Yorubas, because they are weak and spineless. Ekpa is a smart guy, he is only using the proposed sit at home in lagos to test the water, the real agenda is to continue from the destruction they unleashed on lagos in October 2020 under the guise of Endsars. Dis people too mumu
You are obviously not a student of History. If you are one, you will not say that.
IPOB is making the same mistake that Ojukwu made during the Civil War. He faced South West instead of concentrating on his enemy, he met his Waterloo and that marks the beginning of the end of Biafra.

Will you help her to Connect with the Better Man to achieve her Aspiration/Desire (As a Loving Partner that you are)
In the unlikely events that such happen, I will move and marry someone I can handle. At that point her level has changed forever, she can never be the same again, why should I still want to hang there? That's disrespectful.
Even if she comes back, she has tasted the forbidden fruit and can never be same again. So free her and find your level.

PoliticsRe: Despite Huge Revenue, Lagos Local Councils Underperform, Worsen Residents’ Pains by Lifestone(m): 4:37am On Jul 15, 2023
Buddha3:
It is not an arguable fact that Lagos State has not seen measurable development that is befitting of her status as a commercial city with a basic economic yield that eclipses about 50 African countries. In a manner of speaking, the annual revenue being disclosed to the NBS is actually well under half of what Lagos makes in reality. And for a state with a small geographical landmass, housing the population equivalent of two to three Northern states, Lagos is immensely overburdened, reason the very oxygen there is toxic enough to reduce the life expectancy of an average Nigerian by 10years.

That being said, it is important to remind the likes of the OP and others who find delight in meddling with issues concerning Lagos, that there's the need for you all to "LET LAGOS BE"!

Leave Lagos State for Lagosians. Whatever problems and challenges the state has, should be of no concern(s) to you. If you see the need to live or work there, do it in relative peace and self-awareness. Stop bothering yourselves with issues of no positive consequences to your lives. Yorubas and other Lagosians like the city as it is. Do not complain on their behalf. By virtue of studies and published analysis, Lagos is adjudged to be a sinking city that has been predicted to be swallowed by the Atlantic ocean in about 50years. If and when that should happen, leave Lagosians to mourn the loss.

I see no sense in making Lagos state your headache when you're peacefully residing in a far away state. Personally, even if a gun is put to my head, I won't live or work in Lagos State cause of my sanity. I spent 3years of my young life over there and the lawlessness and arbitrary living standards are not for me. So y'all should learn to find peace within yourselves and leave Lagos alone!
I don't get your point. You mean leadership should not be held accountable?

FRANCISTOWN:
One of my home boys once helped a girl secure a job at one of the very high paying organizations in Nigeria.

The offer was below his salary so, he thought to put his "future wife" instead, so this guy tried all his best.
He somehow used his connections to get the aptitude test's questions a day before it was to be written. He stayed up all night to solve the questions, provided the answers and sent them to the lady to memorize.

After the aptitude test, he helped the lady prepare for the interview, plus a few strings here and there. The lady got the Job.

2 months after the lady got the job, my guy lost his high paying job and was working a gig that paid him less than 10% of what he was previously earning.
First six months, she was still her normal self.
A year after she got the job, she started acting fancy. Mind you about this time, my guy was already in his broke state.

All of a sudden, this lady started posting a particular guy at her place of work. My guy complained and complained and rebuked, but she was complacent in her wrong doings.

To cut the long story short. One day she sent my guy a message that read "all of your mates are moving up in life. I don't even know what I'm still doing with you sef"
And that was the end of their relationship. Till date, my friend is still suffers the post traumatic.
If you were on WhatsApp, I'd love to share you some interesting true life stories.

You see, anyone who is interested in supporting their GF is free.
As long as the disappointment has nothing to do with me.

In this Gen_Z/ Gen_A . I'm saying it with full authority and realisation. Once a lady is richer than you, deep down her heart she feels like you no longer worth her. Forget this useless game people keep shouting up and down, I'm not talking about sex. I'm taking about a committed relationship (husband/wife, fiancé/fianceé). Once a woman is richer than you, forget it. In the space of one year, if you refused to level up. You can kiss your woman good-bye
I hope you can see my point. Your friend should face the reality early, free this girl and move on, otherwise he will keep struggling with the whole issue.
I got a high paying job for a Church boy who promised to marry my Sister in law in the same larger organisation where I was working then. After getting the job and settling down, he told my Sister in law that he's not interested again and he moved on. I didn't tackle him despite the fact that I'm in a position to do that.
I told her to forget about him and move on, today she's married to another person with twins.
The more your friend dwells on it the more the pains lingers.

Having read your previous responses, I think I understand your point clearer but the part I think you missed out was balancing your argument.

Of course, every parent would wish the best for their sons and daughters but how about morals and values? Would you wish to be a father of a son or daughter who gets his breakthrough by all and any means possible?

Let's flip the coin and look at it from the angle of being a father of a son who has invested his time and resources in upskilling his would-be wife, and just immediately after the girl succeded in landing her first well paying job, she ditched your son for someone with better financial standing and her reason for such action is that your son is not on the same level as her.

I believe if that was your son, your reaction and perception of the matter will be different (speaking from the angle of every parent wants the best for their children). On the other hand however, the father of the girl would feel it's an answered prayer if we go by the same line of thought as you saw it.

I just feel you didn't balance the argument but your points are valid.

Peace 🕊️
Thanks Bro for sharing your thoughts. Myself sponsored a lady for 6 years to become a Chartered Accountant, she no marry me. I moved because I had invested on myself (I was also a senior Chartered Accountant to her).
If I'm in that guy's position, I will immediately know I have lost that girl when her game went to another level. Rather feeling grumpy, I will move on before the girl act up, except I have a balancing act that can keep me in charge. But to imagine that she will not take that opportunity because of him is unrealistic.
On issue of moral, I think I'm just been realistic here as this is what happens most of the time. If we see as it is, we are all protected, if not, it will bring pains and frustration and can lead to crime of passion.
