Guy, use ur brain now. Deby was never the instigator. He advised Jonathan not to negotiate with them but Jonathan refused. Do you expect him to force Jonathan to heed his advice. If he didn't offer to host it Jonathan would have said that chad isn't committed to seeing an end to the boko haram menace. Remember boko haram also carry out operations in chad. The fact that Deby was willing to host the talks does not change the fact that he advised our president not to engage in it in the first instance.

When an army anywhere in the world liberates a territory, it does mop up operations for as much as it takes to clear the territory and it's surrounding of the insurgents and then HOLDS THE PLACE for as long as it is necessary to secure complete victory. You don't drive out the insurgents today, call the global media tomorrow, leave the day after and expect a different army which did not initially participate in the fight and so would not fully understand the fluidity of the operating security situation to take over and hold the town almost immediately for you. That is jus fooolishness. What for fhucck's sake is the role of Chad in the multinational operation then?? You have only liberated 3 or 4 towns close to the border, and you cannot hold these towns for some time?? You are expecting another army that is extremely busy fighting the same war in 3 other different fronts to come and hold the small territories you've liberated for you.

The Nigerian Military is currently operating in 3 States and an area said to be bigger than Belgium in size. It has recovered over 42 towns (including the largest and most difficult of former towns held by BH) and about 14 LGA from Boko haram. It has succeeded in carrying mop up operations in all these territories and is HOLDING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Not a single one of these liberated territory on the Nigerian side have fallen back to the terrorists since their liberation. Yet the loudmouthed Chad cannot do the same in just only 3 or 4 it has liberated. Why the helll did they then agree to be part of the MNJF in the 1st place??

I think it is about time any sane Nigerian, unfortunately not all of us are sane judging from some of the comments on this thread already, began to ask what the real interests of the Chadians are in this war against Boko haram.

Every able bodied man was forced to join them, refusal earned such persons one way pass to the great beyond. Most of this lads had never held a gun in their lives till the terrorists showed. Will you call killing some of those child soldiers whom they once called cubs a fair Kill? So killing them is essentially decimating a people who got involved in a struggle that they had no hand in starting. remember the mantra of this administration up till now had been carrot and stick. In using the stick there would be collateral damage, u are killing people, not animals. So anyone who comes out now to condemn that ceasefire is truly an enemy of Nigeria.

May God bless you! The true is a shinning armour the righteous run to it for cover. It's so unfortunate that our so called elite that should be standing for our nation and president are really enjoying the humiliation because of their greed for power. I think this is the first time I'm seeing a true Nigerian president and I stand with him against the enemies of our Nation whether within or without. I will not use my left hand to describe the way to my father's compound.

Why will he be happy? Their plans didn't work out and their plans with the west met with a brick wall. A conspiracy with one aim destroy the Jonathan's led administration by whatever mean possible. The big question is; what are they afraid of? It's a big shame that people are carried away by the lies from the social media, the compromised press especially the western media, western governments especially the US, joined by their cronies both within and our neighbors but the God Almighty will show his awesomeness and put all of them to shame. They never shy away from taking any action, I mean any action no matter how despicable it might be. Look at the small chad, they will all be silent in due time. GEJ will be re-elected against their will because the Lord is stronger than all of them put together.
Shame on all those who sold their nation cheaply on the alter of power. Those who connive with the west to bring shame to our nation and put our people at risk. Their reward shall surely come. This time is a symbolic period for Nigeria and the truth of every happenings and actors in this drama will surely be known. Chad's President, how dare him utter such statements; so disappointing. Look at the utterance from their military. At times, I wonder if they are really here to help or try to make our military look weak. You hear, they would have finished the boko haram if their request was granted to chase the haram guys deeper into our territory or they have captured a town and no Nigeria soldier is available for them to handle over command. You have the Cameroonians and the Nigeriens soldiers as part of this coalition but they have not been this careless with their utterances. I doubt if there will not be diplomatic problems between us and the chadian govt in no distance future. I strongly believe that the chadian military lacked the required professionalism, training and exposure of a first class army. They are more of a rag tag army similar to rebels and can never match the discipline Nigeria army who despite the provocative statements from them have refused to join them to belittle the noble military profession.
This time, victory will be reserved for the good and evil will never overcome the good.

I think an important lesson will be learnt by all Nigerians. Where you stand today in this elections is like a barometer that tells your traits and personality.

It's either you are shallow or deep in reasoning.

It's either you are dependent or independent in nature.

It's either your are superficial or thorough.

It's not about noise making and call for change that translate to positive development. Serious minded people deal with substance and not empty promises without a clear road map of how to achieve to promises. A party full of propaganda can not offer anything difference if given the opportunity to rule and it'll be deep pain that Nigerians will realize the falsehood they have been made to believe by this evil party. A case in point is Lagos state with huge resources the state is in serious debt and all major projects have never been completed always on-going for the past seven years yet Lagosians are rejoicing under a heavy burden imposed by a wicked government that cares more for the elite than the common masses. I hope the case of Nigeria will not be that way.

APC, the alarmist. Always crying foul. No party can truly be independent without interaction with other organization. INEC can't exist in isolation. The independence of INEC is in their ability in taking decision without any interference. They have to consult with other agencies of govt to ensure the success of the elections. In the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks and so, I'm not surprise this is what they are actually do when they are conducting local govt election that no other party wins even a councilor seat but APC. The facts are everywhere, check council elections organized in APC states.

Punch Newspaper is their any integrity left in that media outfit? They use phrases such as; an insider source, anonymous witness, a close associate, an aggrieved member, etc to conceal the falsehood in their fabricated stories. Who are these sources that want to remain unknown? The same technique used by their co-collaborator in the news fabrication episode- the great saharareporters. It's a shame that such a media outfit is still allowed to carry on the trade of professional journalism in Nigeria. If you want sensational stories without substance don't look too far read the punch. How can they hold their face up high with this kind of junk journalism. When I read the comments of my fellow Nairalanders I can't help but laugh; people have just stop exercising their power of reasoning and discerning. Jonathan has finish our money not thinking whether the publication is true or not?

If punch can not provide concrete facts on the amount given to the supposed Obas; in what form was it given, in cash or bank transfer; location where it was given? They should simply shut up and stop the lies. These are the kind of news that heat up the polity, create unnecessary envy, hatred and enmity among the people. A detailed investigation should be carried out to substantiate allegations of this nature and not jump to press. It has a very damaging effect. What the punch is saying is that the Obas in the southwest have questionable character with little or no integrity. Simply that they are corrupt. This is an uncharitable remark to the respected traditional institution.

It's true that the traditional rulers have a lot of influence on their subject but they don't have the power to compel them or anyone to vote for any candidate. I think our media houses need to practice responsible journalism and put the Nation first and not their personal interest. The other day, Thambo Mbeki came to Nigeria due to the fear put out by the media of the possible violence outcome of this election and after meeting with the President and Gen. Buhari his fear were allayed that nothing in the media represented the true state of things.

I'm really concern about the readers who swallow everything from these media outfits both print, online and electronics. We need to start exercise our power of reasoning and putting issues in their right perspective. It's obvious the sponsors of Punch's sensational publications but I know soon their cup will be full. The punch failed to report the misdeed in Lagos despite the fact that the corruption in Lagos stinks to high heavens but at the sight prompt the news of the misdeeds of Mr president whether real or imaginary is out in the open. Shame on Punch for not standing up for the truth and objectivity at the time.

We must question whatever is given to us irrespective of the position of the person. If I see a video of my leader robbing the CBN I'll condemn him and report him to the appropriate authority not to encourage him like you guys in APC. Shameless fellows

An unrepented PDP Elder asked me if I have watched the documentary, I asked which one, he said the documentary showing how Tinubu owes 75% of Lagos revenue, that Tinubu is highly corrupt. And I asked him, Daddy, does Tinubu has immunity, he said NO. Is Tinubu a spirit? he said NO. Is Tinubu in Nigeria, he said yes. Has Tinubu been invited by EFCC? he said NO. I shook my head, and told him, Sir, I pray never to be like you when I grow up. He became sad and walked away. Instead of a sane government to prosecute an alleged corrupt man, they are busy running wasteful documentary with tax payers money.

What is your point here? A thief is a thief. The question here is: are these allegations true? and if they are can they be proven beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law. I'm sure you don't understand how our Judiciary system works? The question you asked can also be directed to your excellent governor fashola. Despite the monumental fraud in Lagos state why has he failed to take Tinubu to court?

I often wonder aloud, are these guys in APC for real. Must everything be on the alter of politics? The stupidity in the party stinks to high heavens, in my life i haven't witness such hypocrisy. Fashola gave okada riders helmets and after the elections ban the same okada riders from plying certain roads.

i think there is no need wasting time talking about this party it's clear even to the blind. A party that has no shame, continually being on the denial with constant propaganda and lies. By their works ya shall know them; aptly describes APC. I pity those who believe their hopes lies with such congregation of professional criminals.

please nigerians, APC is not an option at all. They believe in their propaganda and lies; check the states they govern from Lagos to Edo it's the same make believe, the more you look the less you see with a strong media behind them. Fake individuals, Ogun state refused to remit statutory deduction of pension and refused to remit cooperative society deductions; Osun no salary for the last five months. Is that the change we need? Not me.
