ElsonMorali:So you expect the constitution to spell out every act or conduct in details? People like you are not worth any argument because it makes no difference. Thus, you expect the constitution to also specific the everyday clothes of the President and other senior officials. Guy, put on your thinking cap. Stop the baseless argument. please, we are not all idle. i have serious issue to take care of and if you don't haveanything serious to say don't bother responding. |
soberdrunk:Please listen to yourself! we should use corruption to eradicate corruption in Nigeria. I remembered a certain leader who dared to voice out that stealing is not corruption how he was treated with so much disdain. Let me ask you too: can you use dirty water to wash dirty clothes clean? we should stop turning logic on its head; it doesn't advance our struggle for a greater and humanitarian society. |
ElsonMorali:unfortunately, I'm just seeing your response. I shouldn't have dignified it with a response but am compel not to allow misrepresentation to continue to spread. I would never seek to protect or shield a corrupt judge or person but what sane people like us are saying is simple: The laws of the land must be respected and followed in the fight against corruption. It's highly unnecessary to go and arrest the judges at such odd hours of the day based on allegations that are yet to be proven in a court of law or are they fugitives? Have they been invited and they refused to show up? Have they been declared wanted? I don't think so; thus, why the gestapo arrest for? The law presumes innocent until proven otherwise. The manner in which the arrest was carried out is what people are condemning and that in anyway doesn't mean supporting corruption. It's a barbaric act that should be condemn in any decent society. You can't fight corruption with illegality; corruption can only be fought through the instrumentality of the law. We must learn to build strong institution than strong leaders because the former will outlive the latter. |
soberdrunk:Disobeying court orders is corruption...what do you say about that. can corruption acts kill corruption. Abuse of power is corruption. |
gotnel:It's impossible to get the right results by doing the wrong things. The law must be upheld, no one should be above it. If you want to go outside the established rules, there are procedures for doing that. Men that came up with these ideals on democracy never claimed perfection but a process that upload sacred human values that are deem fundamental and inalienable for a decent society. Toying with these ideas will destroy any society. Please read history and you will see the need not to allow for arbitrary actions by anyone. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupt absolutely. Let be guided, we are human, we are not infallible. |
ElsonMorali:How will this make Nigeria great? In a democracy, there are sacred ingredients called separation of powers and the rule of law. These are the corner stone pillars that democracy is built on; what will see today is fragrant abuse of power and tyranny which eventually destroyed our nation/democracy. All men of good faith must not sit by and watch this barbaric act and not say something and do something about this recklessness. We must commend those with the courage to speak out and the NBA for standing up to challenge this aberration and abuse of our judiciary system. you can't be the accuser and judge at the same time. The youth needs to liberate themselves through education, the ignorant level is intolerable and this is the major reason why they are willing tools in the hands of greedy and manipulative politicians. This i say shall surely pass and Nigeria shall rise again. |
luvinhubby:My brother help me tell them. when we complaint they call us wailer, yes we are wailing because things certainly are not alright in Nigeria. It's not about hate or envy here but in all honesty we need to address the drift in our national life. the standard of living has fallen drastically since May 29th, 2015, people are suffering, no light, no water, people are losing their jobs daily, companies are folding up and with all these someone is expecting me not to wail. Have you seen where a child is severely beaten and not expected to cry. Lies upon lies upon lies; na lies we go chop. Nigerians want to see how the fight against corruption will better their standard of living not make it worse. A genuine fight against corruption will leave more money in the hands of government which will lead to improve service delivery to the citizenry but what are we seeing misery in the land. Shameless individuals |
irunooboo:Which planet are you from? Seriously, you compared Adeosun to Okonja-iweala. Is this a joke or APC propaganda have affected your reasoning. please provide verifiable proof of your claim in terms of real economic performance indicators. Joker!!!! |
muri4mig:I agree with you but the unfortunately thing here is the unrealistic expectations set by himself, his party and supporters that has made a mere mortal to look superhuman almost like a mini-god that is perfect and makes no mistake. They raised the bar too high and the standard for judging their actions is met for the gods only. Foreign medical trip was seen as a waste of public fund and used as a campaign promise to stop it thus, it borders on hypocrisy to embark on such trip by the same people that labeled it waste of public fund. |
shaqhead:APC and their propaganda machinery will never rest until anything good about the last govt is rubbed in the mud. What's the logic in this report. The corrupt cases are mostly political and without basis. APC campaign funds came from the moon or through the sales of cattle? Their deceit and lies know no bound and nothing is too sacred for them. Governors requesting for corrupt charges to be dropped as part of measures to appeal to militants to drop their agitation including Jonathan's campaign funds is laughable. These guys are just jokers and no serious mind should take them serious. |
caleb404:I cannot agree less. The Zombies are the major problem. Despite obvious facts they choose to live in denial. It beats them silly to think that after all the clueless one from Otueke could be right on anything. |
BabaO2:It's pathetic how in the name of party everything seems right in the eyes of APC party faithfuls. So sad, the level we have sunk to. Truth and objective have lost their hold on us; everything goes depending on the side or person involved. We should be very careful what will promote because it may one day be our albatross. Shame on those despite overwhelming evidence still continue to uphold falsehood, lies and propaganda. Elections are over, Nigerians from all sections must pull together and uphold the truth at all times because it all that's left. The truth! The government must follow the constitution and laws of the land at all times and not when they choose to. No one should be above it including the President! You can't be arresting people arbitrarily without the due process being followed and detain them without trial. It's a bad omen for Nigeria of today, the effect is damaging in all ramifications. |
greatiyk4u:It's cause for any society to have many like Lai Mohammed. We thank God that it's difficult to find likes of him in Nigeria that mean there is still hope for our dear country. |
Adaure4ever:You said it all nothing to add. Liar and propagandist nothing more, we never said GEJ is the best but surely not the worse and if they have to compare all facts must be placed on the table. We shall Then see those who actually served and those who destroyed. P |
DonBobes:The black market rate tells you the really value of the naira, how many transactions are carried out using the CBN rate? The CBN rate is official and only a few can access the dollar at that rate but majority get the dollar at the black market. Unless and until the CBN rate is available to everyone without any restriction, the black market rate reflects the true value of the naira. Even those with legitimate transactions today cannot access the dollar through the official channels, no one is saying devalue if you have all the dollar to meet legitimate needs but the situation today shows that everyone is suffering both those sourcing through the official rate and black market rate. |
Adamsdelrio:The most simple task. He did it through lies and propaganda and selling cheap campaign promises to gullible Nigerians that your party quickly denied after winning the elections. That's why the center of his party cannot hold and the Nation is fumblingly with it. Anything built on falsehood can never stand. The foundation is faulty and cannot endure. Just the law of nature that everything is subject to including man and all his affairs. |
babs01:Why do we like turning logic on it head. I guess ignorance should be responsible. Jonathan never said he solved all our problems but he took steps that resulted in tangible achievements and beneficial reforms. If you are unbiased and objective, no one needs to tell you the truth in his saying. Today, Amaechi is singing like a bird on Jonathan's achievements that he said during the campaign never existed; Fashola the same with roads n power. Look at the govt with conflicting statements on arm purchase; at one point, no arm was purchased; at another time, arms purchased were sub-standard and finally, the military came out to clear the air that the arms they are using in fighting Boko haram are not sub-standard. And yet the same Lai Mohammed said the military has "technically defeated" boko haram and none of his gullible followers asked with what weapons? because the govt is yet to procure arms. This is not about Jonathan or Buhari or APC or PDP but the individual who failed to use his sense of judgement to think critical before accepting anything but out of parochial sentiment and prejudices prefer to be myopic and accept lies and propaganda to glaring facts and truth no matter how obvious. If this is not stupidity, I don't know what is! APC said Jonathan did nothing for six years but the same APC is going round the country identifying with his works n projects. And yet their gullible followers. want to remain with the campaign propaganda that Jonathan did nothing; how can such individuals be helped? Let stick to facts and not sentiment; truth is everlasting but a lie only last for awhile. |
bigtt76:The question is save him from what? Don't delude yourself about Jonathan in trouble. I think you need to worry more about yourself and how to survive this trying times. Jonathan, I tell you can adequately take care of himself. |
DesChyko:I support Ben Bruce and his common sense revolution. We can't all keep quiet and expect things to change. His common sense revolution hit the nail on the head on so many issues and also bring them to the front burner. You don't ignore the message because of the messenger. The message at all time must be objectively examined and scrutinized to verify its relevant and authenticity. It sad when we try to bring down our own due to blind hate and politics. I fully support his campaign for us to consume made in Nigeria and I think, all sensible and well-meaning Nigerians should join him. I will not join those who just blindly condemn him for the sake of it, if what he says is factual and beneficial I will always support. The writer is obviously one-sided and focusing on the person rather than the message. We don't need the pope to tell us what's wrong with Nigeria and absolutely nothing wrong if it's done by one of us. |
TippyTop:Na wa ooooo. So, no legitimate income earner or business man can afford a house in Dubai. We are just making a mockery of our country and its people. Only through corruption acts can Nigerians be wealthy enough to purchase property in Dubai. I just dey laugh in Tanzania!!!! |
mikolo80:When we told them that Fashola is over-hype, they rained abuses and insults on us that we were only jealous of his achievements. Well, they say the leopard can't change its skin. The thing is, most people were carried away by his well articulated words, polished manners and public composure that they felt he was different from the lots. All was simply a deceit, a make believe that they knew the people will buy. His true nature will be unmasked soon enough for all to know. Neither did he care about Lagos or Lagosians but how he can become a powerful political broker to be reckoned with in Nigeria. He's not different from the regular politician that's greedy, power hungry and desperate. Analyse his actions and comments when he was governor; they were elitist in nature. He's a capitalist at heart and believes that nothing should be offered for free no matter how essential it's. There is no poor man in his lexicon. Find out the state of our primary and secondary schools in Lagos and you will be shocked the level of decay for a state with the highest IGR and debt in the country. Uncompleted projects are scattered across the length and breadth of the state. How people came about that he's the reference point when it comes to good government in Nigeria beats my imagination. I'm not surprise by his action in increasing the electricity tariff and I obviously expect more. |
Lifestone:My thought is for us to have all the facts in this Dasukigate and hear all sides before judging any of them. I think, the media hype is not helping the case, the investigators should be allowed to do their job and come out with concrete evidence rather than having a media trial that leads nowhere. |
TheFreeOne:I said it before, falana is a bloody politician that speaks from both sides of the mouth. A rabble rouser, not fit to be called a human right activist. He is not worth taking seriously. |
doctokwus:Your opinion and you are entitled to it. |
Yksoul:Please, where are you getting your statistics from? I will appreciate if you can share the source/s. Do you know the state of the economy today? Why are we cap in hand begging for foreign loans if such recoveries have been made. I hope Nigerians wake up sooner than later. You can't fail to admit that the propaganda Arsenal of APC is second to none in the entire universe. |
DesChyko:Time records everything and also, in time everything shall be revealed. Just like yesterday! |
2kris:Well, we are entitled to our opinions but remember, perception and reality may not necessary be the same. Media hype about any story especially, the current war on corruption with finding people guilty before even charging them to court can really be misleading. I cannot say if she is guilty or not but anyone who alleges bears the burden of proof and if no proof, it's safe to say no crime was ever committed. Simple logic! |
chriskosherbal:You don't move forward by looking backward. I hope they realize soon enough before the economy collapses completely. Not a single project completed in sixteen year of PDP. Only the gullible will believe this |
luvinhubby:Bless you my brother! I wonder when they will realize that elections are over and the time for propaganda expired. Nigerians want good governance and delivery of their election promises |
jameseva:**** Thus, when an allegation is made the accused is guilty in your own world **** ****, you were never taught or learnt that an accused is innocent until proven guilty not in the media **** but in the court of law. Let wait and see where the spurious allegations will take Falana and his gullible followers. You expect everyone to condemn her because allegations have been made against her by one that is full of contradictions. |
TheGoodJoe:Money could be recovered in previous administrations and not used in that administration. Again, if $10billion was recovered under her watch, the big question is, what's the crime in that? Falana should point misdemeanor or offenses she committed rather than make spurious allegations just to tarnish her image. He just want to remain relevant, we have lost the true advocate of the masses, falana is a charlatan. Gani never fights a case for glory but to advance the course of justice. Falana and his brother Festus have lost their tracks, they are just hustlers and politicians. |
baby124:Don't be fooled by noisemaker like Falana. He has been aptly described in NOI's response to his spurious allegations. If he has facts, let him lay it bare to the world. I have followed him since the nineties, never consistent but love playing to the gallery. He will never stand during tough time or take the leading role. NOI remains one of our best in terms of economic management and no low life can take that away even if the whole Nigeria should condemn her, the world will continue to appreciate her for her contributions to Nigeria, Africa and the world. Let celebrate our own and stop joining the devils among us to destroy their reputation. It makes the world to laugh at us as people with little worth and low self esteem. |
