I'm 35 years old. My sweetheart left me few weeks ago because, according to her, she can't "marry a man who doesn't fear God". This followed series of heart to heart communication over many months. Her problem isn't that I'm a bad person. Normally I don't categorize people based on whether they are good or bad. I equally do not make decisions based on morality rather based on legality (except in family and relationship matters).

My girlfriend (now ex) always confesses that she has never met a man like me. I hardly express emotions. I don't smoke. I drink moderately. I don't gamble. But I don't judge anyone who chooses a different lifestyle... I'm not diabolic. The last time I raised my hand on a woman was when I was in primary two. The last time I engaged in physical fight was in my SS2. My Yes is my Yes... She wants me to at least pretend to be a Christian even if it's just once. She wants me to pretend to pray even if it's once.... But how can live a lie if if it's just once?

Would you prefer an honest man who has no business with church or a dishonest man who goes to church? At length she saw things from my perspective but her friends convinced her otherwise. "If he truly loves you, he should go to church at least for your sake". "Imagine going to church every Sunday with your children without their father, will there be morning prayer in your home etc...?".

I was born and brought up as a Christian. I dedicated most of my youthful years to Christianity. I lost many life changing opportunities because of my dedication to the Christian life. But when I started asking questions, I was deeply dissatisfied... I've attended almost all christian churches, I've studied Islam greatly, I've done a great deal of searching in both Shintoism and Buddhism. I've delved into the unending African traditional religion... I've reached a conclusion that I won't want to disclose here in the meantime

I have noticed that people, especially religious people, say what they don't mean (lie) with ease. People live double life with ease. (I don't want this thread to be too long)

Now, I'm not looking for a "compatible" partner (she doesn't exist), I only want a liberal minded person that is contented with one d***k. But it seems I'm on a wild goose chase. I might end up single

Hello, my wonderful people. Greetings to all the experienced folks here. I used to appreciate Nairaland when learning was a prerequisite for logging in. I've gained a lot from this platform on numerous occasions. But for now, let's set that aside.

Something has been on my mind lately. Although marriage isn't a top priority for me at the moment, I occasionally ponder it. I've always envisioned a lovely wife, smart children, a successful career or business, a comfortable home, and a car. Currently, I'm working diligently to turn this dream into reality with faith in God and effort.

Now, here's my dilemma: The current state of marriage is concerning, with many irresponsible individuals who can't be considered good parents. Most marriages suffer due to disagreements.

Choosing the right partner seems daunting because the majority of women I encounter daily are far from ideal. They often display arrogance, poor character, a lack of responsibility, and a lack of homely qualities. Surprisingly, many of them are university graduates. It's disheartening to see how our society has eroded the moral values instilled by our parents.

Since finding the right woman is challenging, I've considered an alternative approach:

If I'm not careful, I might end up marrying a bright village girl who has just finished secondary school but possesses good communication skills. She should be capable of managing the household, handling domestic duties, be business-savvy and intelligent. I would bring her to the city and help her become the woman I've always desired. I would enroll her in online degree programs for education and support her in starting a business.

I appreciate educated women, but it seems that education can sometimes lead to complications in marriage. I might be mistaken, though.

Can I find such a brilliant girl with a basic secondary school certificate, who is smart, homely, submissive, beautiful, a quick learner, godly, and well-exposed through reading? Or should I consider an educated girl, provided she is reasonable and manageable, and accept whatever comes our way?

Remember, peace is crucial in marriage. What are your thoughts?

Just like our importation madness, we also have the foreign education madness.. Every middle class and above family wants to have a foreign trained gradute or graduates in their family..

So Nigerians spend billions of Dollars yearly training their children is sub standard forigen universities. Government must place a ban on foreign university degrees form certain foreign universities..

Only some Ivy League and top university certificates should be accepted in Nigeria..

Lastly place a 10 years ban on foreign vacations, foreign weddings and senseless form trips..


Corruption should also be twarted..

If FG do it properly it will be very good.

FG should also ban degrees from every African country, most parts of Europe, Asia, Middle East and America..

Foreign education by Nigerians is also a big cause of our inflation, drop in the value of the Naira, etc..

Good day my beautiful people here. Nairaland is my Family because I don't have a physical/Blood-related family and I believe I'll get the appropriate counsel here.

So, I work as a teacher of Mathematics in a Private School. The school is almost 3years since it's establishment while I'm over 2years working there. My Employers(Husband & wife) are the Best you can ever have as far as the teaching job is concerned. They pay on time and are easygoing people. However, almost all the staff(42 staff) aren't happy with the fact that they give parents and students more concern at the detriment of the staff. As in, you can't get into a conflict with a learner or parent & ever expect to win the case even when it is obvious you're Right. They allow the parents to decide what goes on in the school. And this isn't going down well with many of the staff. Parents moan a lot when u give them such chance. At a point I had to tell my boss that I was resigning, but he pleaded with me to stay and I stayed. But I'm really getting fed up.
The other thing is his incessant and unsolicited calls. I've worked in Eight schools in four different states of this country & I hate to be friends with my employers cos I have learnt a lot based on my previous experiences. Such relationship doesn't end well cos I'm always at the receiving end. Truth is, I love the sch so much. The pay is not even up to 40k but I bless God. Aside doing my job, I also advise him on way forward as regards the sch. I even won the Best teacher's award last session.
I feel really uncomfortable with the way he calls me everyday even on weekends and odd hours. I no longer have my Privacy. He calls for very trivial reasons and it's about what I should do, how parents are complaining about some particular issues. You hardly get applause for been dedicated to work. He is so quick to criticize, but never gives credit when he should. No matter how perfect you are at your job, once there's one little stain on it, it has dented every other good deeds. It's really so demoralizing and we the staff are not happy. There's no staff there that isn't hardworking, so why not overlook a few mistakes? I understand it's Business but his staff are also humans.
At times, I will have to either put off my two phones or put the phones on DND so as to avoid his calls. He has all my three lines. I had to stylishly ask some other close colleagues of mine if they also received such numerous calls form our Boss, but they said No. So why is mine different?

In business the customers are the king, in this case they are the parents of the kids..

Try and understand..

Na ya type they kill biz in Nigeria..

The customer is always right, when u open yours you will understand..
