Please I took my car in to get the timing checked and the Mech must have mistakenly cracked the timing chain case. He later welded it and is fixing it in right now.

Please is this something that can cause me issues later? Can I buy another case? How much is it?

If that ball joint goes bad in 18months then its not tokumbo.

I understand what you mean concerning prices of the parts. That price was including workmanship.

I used a former tukumbo ball joint for that long before I started hearing a noise so I use that timeframe as my ‘comfortable’ tokumbo ball joint use duration.

Nobody else uses accord in my area except me. That’s how bad our roads are over here. My neighbors think I’m either very lucky or passionate to keep using the car even in floods. I change my bearings far more often than ball joints because of this.

it’s a good car. The engine is bullet proof even with an extent of negligence

I’ve used mine for 7 years now and I’ve changed the engine and gearbox once within a space of 3 years of each failing.

Back then I was a novice so Abro dealt with the gearbox and xhp suffocated my engine till air conditioning packed up then it started smoking and I was finally forced to change the engine because of too much yabbing from my guys. The engine still ran well till I changed it so much so that I used it to travel steadily.

I’ve only changed my front and back shocks once and I stay in a terrible road plagued area. Honda has fewer fake parts in the market. For other maintenance I’ve changed few sensors and done window and ac work a few times over the years.

For Honda just Get original parts and smile till your next service date.

I have a bad experience with Honda and leg... and greenhulk is right..... out of everything 5cars on the road with leg pull.... 4 of them are accords....

I used a prelude bought from a top ranking govt official in kogi state in pristine condition .... seldom drove the car because it was a coupe.... major reason it was sold anyway.
I drove that car to and fro steadily ... from iyah gbede in kogi to maitama and kubwa for 1yr without any noise talk more of issue .... took the same ride less than 2months in Ihiagwa to get it's first leg pull with the direct follow come ball joint..... direct from factory!

the road was practically unmotorable but I couldn't help it na.... Toyotas were passing na ... nissans were failing!

but the frequency here in Lagos is much more reduced than in the south east!

bottom line if u love the ride and u feel u can maintain it.... go ahead and be very religious about maintenances else.... the interior and torque thoooooo... waoh

The first ever leg pull I experienced was in front of Agu’s Compound in Ihiagwa. I had just changed the bearings and was returning home when it happened.

and it wasn’t because the joint was bad oh, but because trustee Kazeem refused to tighten the bolt well. I went there, bent down and saw that the bolt was missing and the joint came unhinged

I called him and he came with another bolt to fix for me with many excuses (instead of apologies) blaming the road because he observed it happened at the in worst area on the worst stretch of federal government road in the whole of imo state.

The road is being managed better now than in those days sha, but it’s still arguably the most stupid road in owerri

if it’s only the hand shake and leg pull you’re worried about then buy the car

Just don’t forget to budget roughly 15k every 18months to replace your joints with proper tokumbo ones

buy one new one and keep in your boot as an emergency spare

that’s how you manage the issue with that car
