The Defence Headquarters on Friday said that troops in Kaduna had arrested a man suspected to be connected with the explosion targeted at Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

This information is contained in a statement posted on Defence headquarters web site defenceinfo.mil.ng.

The statement said that the young man was apprehended by military patrol team that swooped on the area immediately after the explosion.

It said that he disguised as a woman clad in female garb to exude femininity with a brazier affixed to his chest. 

“The suspect was arrested while trying to fizzle into a crowd of onlookers when the patrol team arrived the scene. 

“Youths in the area attempted to mob him while he was being arrested but were restrained by troops who quickly whisked him away in an armoured personnel carrier,” it explained.  

The statement said that he was currently being interrogated by security agencies in a bid to ascertain his links.

It would be recalled that there was a twin bomb explosion on July 23 in Kaduna metropolis.

Air navigation services lost track of the Airbus A320 around 50 minutes after take-off early today.
It was last sited at 1.55am GMT, the official Algerian news agency said.

The flight should have landed in the Algerian capital at 5am GMT.
'In keeping with procedures, Air Algerie has launched its emergency plan,' the agency quoted the airline as saying.

The flight path of Flight AH5017 from Ouagadougou, the capital of the west African nation of Burkina Faso, to Algiers was not immediately clear.
Ougadougou is in a nearly straight line south of Algiers, passing over Mali where unrest continues in the north.

A source from Air Algerie told the AFP news agency said contact was lost while it was still in Malian air space approaching the border with Algeria.

The source said: 'The plane was not far from the Algerian frontier when the crew was asked to make a detour because of poor visibility and to prevent the risk of collision with another aircraft on the Algiers-Bamako route.

"Contact was lost after the change of course."

The airline announced that the plane had gone missing in a brief statement carried by national news agency APS.
It added that the company initiated an 'emergency plan' in the search for flight AH5017, which flies the four-hour passenger route four times a week.

sluvy4tune: The Enugu State House of Assembly has formally commenced impeachment proceedings against the Deputy Governor, Sunday Onyebuchi , as it directed the Clerk, Christopher Chukwurah to serve (Onyebuchi) with the notice.

In a sitting that lasted less than an hour, the Assembly presided over by Speaker, Eugene Odoh, accepted the Notice of Impeachment against the embattled Deputy Governor signed by 22 out of the 24 members of the House.

Aside the speaker, only the member representing Aninri State Constituency, and the younger brother of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Hon. Mathias refused to sign the impeachment notice.

He was however at the House sitting but did not oppose the notice when the six-page document sponsored by the House leader, Udeh Okoye was read and adopted.
