He said yes to all of the above. But the provisional is only for 1 year that's what he said. And he said he's been using it for more than a year Lexusgs430: This would surely get much bigger than intended.........
Does this colleague have a provisional licence........ Does this colleague insurance, stipulate provisional license....... Was this colleagues vehicle insured........ Does this colleague, have an international license.........
This is why driving in the UK illegally, go always get K - Leg........ 😭😂 |

Sadly it was just the notice . I think he has a provisional but I think after one year he can't use it right. Might be wrong ukay2: Hmmm
Why not speed awareness course if this is his first offence?
Why drive without any DL, even a UK provisional license?
Any option of paying a fine alone?
Better he pays the fine |

Good evening everyone,
A colleague of mine who doesn't have a license and sadly drove above the speed was issued a notice of intended prosecution. Please how can he go about this as he doesn't have a driver's license
He's been here for about a year |

Thank you for your kind suggestions. Well appreciated Bourne007: I will suggest he rectifies it in-country. It can take an average of 6 weeks and can't work. It can be tracked too
I think you will have to take it back to the centre but can take weeks to issue a new vignette if you decide to go through this route. |

Hiii, I and my husband came into the UK exactly in December last year via student visa with him as the dependant. He started with Care and told me he was going to work for only 25hours weekly as he didn't want to get absolved in care. This time would also allow him apply for jobs, prepare and attend interviews. The interviews were coming with so many "unfortunately" attached to it. While for some applications we didn't hear back from the recruiter. We were discouraged as we had bills to pay with the limited income but he was so determined not to take more hours. It was exactly 4 months after that all the sleepless night yielded it's fruitage. He got 3 jobs offers and all with sponsorship. He's in a much better place today with better pay P.s I am not in anyway berating Care work, I also did care but if you have the skills from Nigeria please don't give up in searching and even if you don't, learn them especially when you know exactly where and what you want to be.. mizGene: I wish you would still post your story. If there are no direct insults to anyone, I don't know why they would take offence, this is an anonymous forum. If they do, it doesnt matter either if other ppl can learn something positive. If everyone starts holding back, it will defeat the purpose of this forum. |

I totally disagree with you on this point. I and my now husband did a low-key wedding and we aren't poor. We felt that we could spend the money and other savings into buying properties which we did. It doesn't mean both of us are stingy; far from it. I always tell anyone, it's not about the wedding it's about the marriage. That should be the focus. Don't let wedding preparations distract you from what is truly important. And yes, finance can cause breakup p.s if you want to do big wedding , please go ahead. LilMissFavvy post=118298417: Leave low key wedding for people with low income. If you have the financial capacity yet wish for a wedding of 300k then maybe you are a stingy*man. Your woman should also assist if possible or if her tradition permits. If you both are compatible, then wedding finance should not cause break up, no one is perfect. |

These are: income-based jobseeker’s allowance income support child tax credit working tax credit a social fund payment child benefit housing benefit council tax benefit an allocation of local authority housing local authority homelessness assistance businessnow: Greetings to everyone
2. Before the end of the last school term, the head teacher of my children's school sent me a link if we needed free school clothing and free meals for the children for the new term.
which I filled in. The link was under the council website.
Free School Meals and Clothing Grant
https://www.falkirk.gov.uk/services/schools-education/education-benefits-support/free-school-meals-clothing-grants/
Fast forward to August, when they resume the new term, and the sum of £120, £150, and £150, totalling £420, was sent to my account by the council for the free school clothing I applied for .
These two have been bothering me for a while. I hope this is not a long throat.
Now, today I received another £495 from the Council and an email to that effect.
They said the payment is for PAYMENT NOTIFICATION (COVID-19-TASKLING FOOD INSECURITY AND SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS AT FINANCIAL RISK).
Dear Parent/Carer,
I am pleased to advise you that Falkirk Council is providing you with additional financial support of £165 per eligible pupil on or around Friday, October 7, 2022 as follows:

Please, we need your candid advice and clarification on this as we are yet to renew our visa and we do want any issues with UKVI as regards to that when
applying for a Visa renewal.
Please amiable senior nairalander, I need your input and clarification on this.

West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA)... Ps- Competition ke Viruses: We all know recourse to public fund is against some visa conditions. It is boldly written on BRPs.
The help you can offer here is to mention the govt dept sponsoring the program so that people will avoid it as not everyone may be lucky to encounter the lady you encountered.
You didn't get it so no need to fear competition. |

I thought I should share my experience on "no recourse to public funds". I happen to be in the tech field with no much years of experience and decided to opt in for a bootcamp to brush up my skills as it offers internship after graduation. I went through the process and passed. However on offer, I was told that the bootcamp was sponsored by the "department of xxxxxx UK"... And since I was on student visa, I have no recourse to public funds which included this sponsorship by one of the govt. departments... Hence, would affect any other applications in the future. It made me to go back and had a good read about this public funds
It thought me a lesson, in as much as I am looking to fit myself into the society, their rules are their rules and sometimes you unintentionally go against it like this one. We also want to ask as such questions as possible and be open as well. I still remain grateful to the lady that pointed it out to me because I would enrolled without knowing that I had gone against my visa rules. |

Apt! Lexusgs430: Once you head down the writing route, they act more with sense .........
Because they know if it ends up in court/mediation, you would have enough evidence to present...........
Aside writing, also take photos and videos (where necessary)....... |

Phone calls should be a follow-up on the emails or letters. I learnt the hard way. Lexusgs430: STOP calling, start writing ...........
Write a letter to OPUS..... Write a letter to OFGEM........ Write a letter to your landlord ....... |

Yes. My husband sponsored me although funds were in our joint account and we have different names. Proof of marriage is all you need when applying for visa. donshegzy: Hello house. Kudos to everyone contributing to this platform. I have a question.
My wife will be applying for the September entry into a UK uni for her masters. Her passport still carries her maiden name. I’ve not encouraged her to get a new passport because my son and I are awaiting our passports from Immigration - we captured in October and there’s no way to fast track it.
My question is, can we apply as dependents even though she doesn’t bear my name on her passport? Keep in mind that I’ll be sponsoring the whole thing. Thank you. |

Yes it is but not impossible. You don't have to pay 6months. And you can book from Nigeria if you are comfortable with it. Try Zoopla, open rent, right to move. All the best HopeLoveLife: Thank you.
I actually heard it isn’t easy to get an accommodation from Nigeria, how true is this? Do you need to be there first and must you pay 6 months upfront ? |

I would be sincere with you. Getting an accomodation here in the UK is not easy more less a free one. If you are single you can try shared accomodation. They come at the range of 75-120 per week. If you have a friend or family you could consider the option of staying with them. Or you can look at an Airbnb which is not cheap in any way. HopeLoveLife: Any site for free accommodation ? Even if it is just for 1 month Biko, this situation is getting me pretty sad. Or are there places one could get loan here in Nigeria before departure ? Please help me,e I am totally confused on what to do. |

My thoughts too. Looks like a scammer. When they start using words with so much urgency like "immediately", "quickly". Schools don't write that way. I could be wrong. But let him reconfirm from the school if it was sent by them. Except they hired a newbie SerendipityHere: This mail though.
