Whether he had concluded his second term or not, becomes immaterial, as long as he was supposed as the sitting governor to win the state for his party. The same went for Kwara state. So get the understanding. Can you number the amount of members of the National Assembly who lost their seats as incumbents?

By the way, did Buhari and APC not defeat GEJ, the then incumbent in 2015? What about the likes of Ikpeazu, Ortom, etc.

I wonder how you are so naive, believing that just because Tinubu intervened with EFCC, he automatically showed support to Adeleke. So does Tinubu have to be in Osun state to campaign openly as your evidence or not of his support for Adeleke? Why does he have the no. 3 man and 10 governors in that state working there? Once again, it is in the interest of the President as the leader of APC, to support his party, whether secretly or openly. It is the business of Adeleke to fight hard to retain his seat. Incumbents have lost their bases in Nigerian politics. The moment politicians lose their relevances, defeat becomes very simple. Amaechi was the APC governor of Rivers state when Wike contested and defeated him and his candidate in 2015. When Otoge came to Kwara state, PDP was swept aside.

Remember that politics is about interest and not friendship or enmity. The interest for Tinubu as it stands presently is his party. Yes, Adeleke will support Tinubu’s second term, but in all honesty, does it truly appear that Tinubu supports Adeleke’s second term. It is a big no. The interest at this point is the party and not the family. Tinubu is the leader of the APC and he must be the example to those under him. That’s why today you have all those governors and senate president in the state to win that state for him. They will use all that they can within their disposal to attempt winning.

Adeleke has a very big fight in his hands. I strongly believe that they will slug it out money for money, violence for violence. The well known peaceful Osun state is having its peace and patience tested by politicians.

By the way, how have people swept Aregbesola under the carpet? There are three major contestants, but apparently, the contest has been narrowed to Accord party and APC. Is ADC no longer counted among them?

That correctional service needs to be overhauled,the corruption in that place is too alarming........states should be allowed to handle the prisons and the fg should just maybe have one per region because most of the crimes committed by these inmates are state crimes......if states are baring the responsibility for maintaining the prisons and welfare of the inmates, they won't just be dumping people in there at every slight,the judiciary also has to ensure an easy bail bond process where defendants don't have to go to prison to perfect bail conditions on some minor crimes,but the corruption in the system ensures inefficiencies that doesn't encourage speedy trials .

Also why not seek alternative use for most of the hapless inmates who can't find help,they can be used for farming up north,construction projects,,drainage clearing and other task,this way they can be earning some income whike serving time which can be useful to them after their release and also earn them some skill that will be useful to them.

I just updated the post......enugu in 2022 got about $134m from faac but in 2025 got $170m also enugu igr for the whole of 2022 was N26b but has already done N95b H1 2026......that shows you tinubu economics is working and state govts should be encouraged to do a lot more.

Enugu received N65.51b in faac in 2022 thats about $134m @424 toba $ ......in 2025 N250b which gives you about $170m @ 1350 to a $.......don't you see that tinubu subsidy removal is making a difference and all govs should be delivering on a scale like enugu.

Enugu igr was N28.6b for the entire 2022 but by H1 2026 alone its N95b,half year......doesn't that tell you tinubu economics is working and Mbah should be encouraged to do more.

Anambra have nearly the lowest federal government investment

Onitsha is the second most built up area in Nigeria

If they can achieve that with less how is that a bad thing ?

How do you intend to shore up govt finances without igr,will you be depending solely on federal allocations? The other option will be borrowing.

Anambra I agree isn't so bad in terms of development but as you can see,the igr has increased 3 fold under obiano and soludo is doubling that,thats progress and for Anambra to be world class,the govt needs revenue, every state must strive to be able to stay solvent with or without federal allocations.
