The U.S. State Department estimates that number to be around 10 million in 2020, which is more than double the number of Americans residing overseas in 1999, when the same department reported it to be 4 million.12 Oct 2020

Ignorant. Let me tell you, even the richest in Austria don't eat as well as any Nigerian that doesn't go hungry. Try and find out why fertility in the West is declining alarmingly. Nigerians eat organic healthy foods unlike majority of Austrians. Except if Nigerian poor are predominantly now living on Western fare such as noodles and spaghetti.

Should we rejoice at the coups?

I think African nations have played subservient roles to western powers for far too long. France’s grip on its African colonies have weakened following coups in Mali, Burkina Faso.

Maybe it’s time for this evil contraption, business-venture-of-wickedness called Nigeria to break free from British rule and misrule.
Delusional Africans lost in seas of arrogance. undecided

Misterman; Mali, Bukina etc are shitholes, manipulated and stirred by France, releasing noxious gases, polluting the neighborhood! Stop taking pride in crap and trying to subvert received wisdom on the matter of French control over these West African nations, before and now. They have utterly failed as Nations and you should be accepting the dire nature of their present circumstances and weeping for Africa instead of hoping Nigeria should also fail, evident in the coup of your prayers. Crab mentality!
CrimeRe: Nigerian Woman Jailed In Italy For Blackmailing Chinese Man After Sex by Litmus: 12:39am On Feb 02, 2022
The West is sympathetic to White women. I recall that following a series of male deaths at the hands of spouses and girlfriends, UK and US began considering if to enact a knew Law, along the lines of Crimes of Passion, which would enable women receive lenient sentencing for killing their partners. If you're wondering why i wrote this, the answer is that i believe or suspect had this Nigerian call girl been White, she would not be prosecuted and jailed. Actually , the Chinese man might have found himself in trouble. In the West, women and especially prostitutes have enormous public sympathy and advocacy.

Lack of organisation is Nigeria's main problem. Get organisation right and majority of Nigerians will be able to live acsseptably even when other ills remain significant.

The Nollywood emphasis on witches and demons, what did it do to better the lives of the poorest Nigerians by inadvertently depicting Nigeria to the world as a place to avoid because of human sacrificing, poisoning, and general primitivism?

Yet same very poorest Nigerians impacted most by National Reputation will be here egging on those none Nigerians that secretly hate you and want the world to view you in terms of extreme poverty, causing tourist to avoid visiting Nigeria. Foreigners visiting Nigeria helps the local economy. Portraying Nigeria as a shithole will be good for movie producers bank balance, since portraying Africa as a shithole continent sells, but not good, now or long term, for you the poorest.
TV/MoviesRe: Nigerian Movies And Craze For Mansions And Big Cars by Litmus: 1:05pm On Feb 01, 2022
Movies are not just for entertainment alone, they are also a vessel for political and social change, propaganda; for marketing of your nation; for mental and sometimes physical colonisation; for educating or brainwashing of a target audience; for helping citizens envision what thire nation and lives can become; for pushing desirable life styles; for creating hope etc.

Here is an extract for why Indians hated Slum Dog Millioner:

Some Indians feel sad, that most of the people in US and Europe think that slumdog accurately describes the social fabric of India.
I agree with critics who describe it as poverty porn. Some Americans also want to feel assured that they are the richest people in the world and there are no homeless people living here. This movie reinforces their ignorant notions about backward developing countries and a strong belief in western superiority.
TV/MoviesRe: Nigerian Movies And Craze For Mansions And Big Cars by Litmus: 12:36pm On Feb 01, 2022
Quite aside from anything else, I believe the worst thing movie makers can do is listen to the advice of the viewing public. Listening to fan criticisms has ruined franchises such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator and many others. The best thing a movie maker/ media producers can do is remain true to thire intuition, dreams and ideas. Don't listen to fans. Do your stuff true to Your ideas, experiences and hopes and the people will watch. Let them criticise or eulogise all they want afterwards or go make thire own.
TV/MoviesRe: Nigerian Movies And Craze For Mansions And Big Cars by Litmus: 12:20pm On Feb 01, 2022
Nigeria would be stupid doing as the OP suggest. I now no longer watch Nigeria comedies such as Emanuella and the rest because, they have become dirty looking, filthy and the people not as polished as Nigerians are in Nigeria. Also the characters have become mean, insulting to elders and generally carrying on in Niggerdly ways not typically Nigerian. I believe that the creators of these comedies are listening to the criticisms and advise of Africans that are not Nigerians, consistently the comedies are counteracting the positive effect on Nigeria that these comedies used to effect by showcasing the unique ways of Nigerians.
TV/MoviesRe: Nigerian Movies And Craze For Mansions And Big Cars by Litmus:
Nothing wrong with those mansions. Nigerians should not listen to some of these critics. Some Africans and blacks just want Nigeria movies to dipict the filth and dirt stereotypes associated with Africa that comforts the West and emboldened the rest of the world to muck and look down on Africa. All this in the name of secretly not liking Nigeria and being secretly miffed that Nigeria is not De-marketing herself by painting herself as a destination of filth and squalor!

You clear the grass and bushes, you expose the village to a plague of mice and rats.

Contrary to evidence of regression in Nigeria society, these barbaric occurrences may be consequences of progress. The accoutrements of development may be reaching into and exposing the darkest reaches of Nigeria society, driving out the inhabitants for the horrified scrutiny of international eyes.

Problem is now that these acts are being exposed, what do we do to eradicate them. Nigeria needs to be better organized and invest in organisations. Police, Fire and Ambulance services are examples of organisations. If Nigeria had an organisation charged with registration of births, deaths and Criminal history, that little girl may not have been killed by her teacher in Northern Nigeria. This is since the school would have acsse to Records of potential employees.

Lazy government!!!
This is a very easy issue to solve.
The government should take over the land.
Build a school or hospital there.
Or share the land equal to the communities and put a boundary.
Shikina! Case solved.
Or the governor is enjoying the blood sharedhuh?
The problem with Nigeria is lack of organisation. For instance, we never got around to creating institutions, bodies etc charged specifically with handling these, occasionally bloody, communal lands/border clashes that arises often in the country.

Whose responsibility, National, state, local govt ?

You'd suppose that because of its regularity, given the compound nature of our nation due to colonial history, that an organisation set up specifically to handle these sorts of disputes would be one of our first institutions.

SportsRe: Burkina Faso Vs Tunisia : AFCON 2021 Quarter-final (1 - 0) On 29th January 2022 by Litmus:
As I suggested: Nigeria's Eagles have to adopt the mindset that whatever African team they play will be twice the team they ordinarily are. In order words, African teams try harder when playing Nigeria. I suspected that Tunisia would beat Nigeria in that game and they did. I didn't think they would beat Nigeria because they are North Africans or any of that over- respecting North Africans rubbish, I just worried that they, Tunisia, were going to up thire game more than Nigeria would expect them to given their problems with Covid.

Ghana too will beat Nigeria if Nigeria does not approch that game expecting Ghana to fight tooth and nail not to loose to Nigeria. Majority of teams in Africa stand a better chance than Nigeria of defeating Ghana in the upcoming game. Nigeria needs to adopt the mentality that expects this and is prepared to overcome whatever fight African oppositions put up.

The condescending but still intriguing Story Of The Africar – The Wooden-Bodied Car For Africa:

https://silodrome.com/history-africar/

The Africar Concept

Tony Howarth had great respect for Henry Ford and his Model T. It had been designed and built for an America which back at that time had a road system much like that found in Africa in modern times. The roads were dirt tracks which got washed out and rutted when it rained, and the Model T was created to negotiate them. Not only that but the Model T was made to be easy to drive for someone who’d never driven a car before, it was owner fixable, and they were built to last for decades, as evidenced by the sheer number that still survive and have been restored into running order.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96xeexcGg54
n a sense Tony Howarth had something like the Model T in mind when he put together the concept that was to become the Africar. It was to be two wheel drive to avoid the expense and complication of four wheel drive (although four wheel drive versions were also planned), it was to be built around an extruded frame made using a CNC tube bender. The suspension, engine and transmission would then be attached to that tube frame. Howarth’s material of choice was stainless steel so that the vehicle would be truly “rust free”. That stainless steel would be sand-blasted so it did not need painting or powder coating.

If you did away with all of Americas foibles you'll kill America and have, say, another replica England. Wouldn't the world be poorer for it?

1. Why do we apologize before saying anything in Nigeria? Eg “please don't be angry, where is First Bank located here?” “Abeg, no vex, where I go fit piss here?”

2. Why do we say ‘no problem’ or ‘no wahala’ when told to do sth after a conversation?
We do it because we are Nigerians, do you want us to be Kenyans??
