TastyFriedPussy: You no sabi wetin you dey talk.... The tech youtubers who are programmers that their niche is all about programming are what? Are those one's not tech influencers too? Joma tech and the rest? You know deep down the people I refer to as tech influencers. This people are different from the youtubers that put up content to help others. These ones will never tell you to ditch your degree and attend a bootcamp. I remember when Compiler Construction, a course I took in 300l was difficult to me....it was through them I understood that course and passed my exams. But you see these other tech influencers I'm talking about that are on tiktok, sc, twitter. Most of them spread false info. I hope you understand what I mean? You grab? |

Telegon: The bolded hit the nail on the head. I pray they listen
I've also been a victim of this your post, that's why I'm trying to incentivize others. And the tons of misleading informations online are the ones causing this.
Even on this nairaland, there's a thread that dissuade people from going to higher inst. at all, that prospective students should just focus on programming and making money when they finish high school. Exactly boss. This tech influencers aren't helping matters. The few of them that put out genuine info don't get views and likes. Firstly, how on earth can one combine programming and tech influencing? You Don sabi good dsa and system design wella wey you still get time to dey create road map threads every 10 mins on twitter? |

Telegon: Bro, I want you to do some personal research, check some american tech companies requirements for employment online and you will know the degree is not useless. You will see a lot ready to employ computer sci. graduates without experience, while requesting self-taught to have minimum three-years experience. Though, a dull computer sci. grad. will drop at the interview section.
Concerning courses being rudimentary, have you seen any first-class grads who only stick with the syllabus, they always go extra-curriculum to get the first-class. So even as a student, to be highly employable, you have to be outstanding. This is true asf But yet tech influences are preaching the gospel of "no degree to get a remote job". Thereby, making folks ditch school to attend bootcamps even when they have the time and money to do so. One thing I don't like about we Nigerians is that, we don't like following laid down procedures. We love to create shortcuts. Despite this your preaching of getting a Cs degree if you can...... self-taught programmers will still pick jamb form and put mech eng or marine eng or medicine lol...knowing fully well that they intend to work as a programmer after graduation. |

DrLevi: The FAANG dream is a highly ambitious one but the Leetcode DSA thing is quite real especially with established companies, I hear American devs talk about it a lot.
Still your employment will always require expertise with certain languages and frameworks because you have to be productive immediately after the onboarding.
Advising people ignore productive skills for optimisation hacks and efficiency(DSA) is quite misleading because at the end, you won't be employed as a DSA engineer but a ROR or React or Python developer. Makes no sense passing the interview only to get fired a month into the job for being totally useless to the team Recently I found out most people debating this DSA thing are not Cs grads cos anyone that studied/currently Cs must know dsa is the core fundamental upon which other things are built on including those frameworks, libraries and languages so it should not be surprising that companies test for the knowledge of this. Yes dsa is hard, even foreign engineers don't find it easy but since this is the situation we find ourselves....we all have no option |

Hannania: Comments only an African can say. India has millions of developers and DSA is of no secrete. All FAANG AND 90% of Fortune 500 firms opened offices there, because there's a large pool that knows "Fundamentals".
How many senior developers in Nigeria can architect large distributed systems?
Before now, what we had were WordPress masters. but it's all different every since Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, Bank Of America, Palantir, and Microsoft, started giving lads opportunities, and now big firms are seeing the talents from here.
It's a good thing that DSA is now evangelized. Before you know it, big cooperations will come to set up offices here so they can outsource developers here at a cheaper rate.
So if you want to get among the elite, better learn it. Because soon, employers in Nigeria will revert to it, to keep top talents and filter script skiddies.
Microsoft and Amazon just opened applications to recruit engineers from African Universities to US and Canada, not experienced engineers, but new grads. The result if this is that the level of difficulty for interview questions will be tougher. There's a joke that In India, to get into Google you have to prep lc hards very well and pray to God lol for you to pass the interview |

ProphetJeroboam: Its not desperate when she’s really into you, if a lady is genuinely into you, she wants to spend time with you physically not on texting or phone calls. She makes things extra easy for you, like super easy. She wants you and her alone, when you get her alone, a real nigga knows what to do. You’re only perceived as being desperate when you’re over investing and she finds it overwhelming. At the peak of her attraction for you, a real nigga knows when to strike. Woww thank you for this explanation |
Romance › Re: Reality Every Guy Need To Know ( STRICTLY REDPILL) ... by logik29(m): 8:52pm On Mar 22, 2022 |
ProphetJeroboam: Being chosen gives the “high” feeling, it doesn’t happen to the average guy a lot so it’s understandable most would want to savor it, enjoy it and relish it. In all cases you’ll start thinking she wants to be with you and just you, she chose you so you must be special, you have her in your hands. When a woman chose you, the onus is on you to steady the dynamic of your relationship with her. Most guys enjoying the moment don’t realize this until replies start getting dry and monotonous then they create throw-away accounts to ask “How do I keep a girl interested” . She chose you today cos you’re funny and you make her laugh, she could chose another guy tomorrow cos he has a nice physique. For women it’s all about satisfying their biological urge to be physically and mentally hooked to a guy with qualities they find endearing at that moment. At the same time, playing the no-sex game works sometimes albeit for a short time when you’re higher value than all her options at the moment. The only way to keep a woman is to consistently prove to be higher value than any guy she has met or will potentially meet. You can have the keys to her emotions at the moment but some guy elsewhere has the keys to her body , you gave her the feel good emotional feels, some guy gives her the mind blowing orgasms. Both guys are equally as important to her and her selfish nature will convince her that both needs must be met regardless of who she hurts. Remind me of when I was in 1st year in the university, i flaked on this chick so hard during a Sunday , she called me and was crying asking why I like to hurt her, came to class on Monday to see some nigga grabbing her ass in class. I never got the chance to smash though but I am positive that guy did. Nice write up. I have a question though... Won't this lead to see finish ?or make her see you as desperate? |

MirthOsas: Hey D! It's been a while, but I am here again, LOL
I am glad that I am making steady progress even though there are days I feel like giving up, but I just remember why I started out in the first place, and that tends to rekindle the zeal to continue.
I finished a module on Numbers and strings, where I learnt about the floating point precision, the .toFixed method, the Big integer, The global Number and Math objects and assoicated methods and properties such as the .random(), .floor, etc. I also learnt about Regular Expressions.
I also finished another module on Asynchronous JavaScript, where I learnt about synchronous code execution, asynchronous code execution, blocking code and event loop, the effect of multiple callbacks. I also learnt about promises
Another module on Promises is gone too as I learnt about how to create promises, how to chain multiple promises using the .then() method. I also learnt about error handling using the .catch() method, the async - await, and the other some other methods available for Promises, such as the Promise.race(), Promise.all(), and the Promise.allSettled.
I have also finished a module on HTTP requests and I sincerely loved and still love this module. I learnt about how to send HTTP requests, the different types of requests, the concept of JSON data and Parsing Data, how to get the response when we send a request, and an alternative way of sending requests using the fetch API.
Yesterday, I finished a module on JavaScript libraries, where I learnt about some third party JS libraries available and how they make life the life of a developer easier. I learnt the different methods of adding libraries - by downloading or by using the CDN link. I specifically learnt about AXIOS, a library that makes sending HTTP requests way easier. I delved into jQuery, but its capabilities can be done by core JS APIs. I also learnt about using npmjs.com to search for resources and documentation regarding JS libraries.
I also started creating basic javascript projects and they are really basic though , but it keeps getting better. I created a counter app with live url: https://mirthosas.github.io/counter-app/
A random number generator app with live url : https://mirthosas.github.io/Random-Number-Generator/
A hex-colour generator app with live url: https://mirthosas.github.io/Hex-colour-generator/
It keeps getting better D! Hello please where you able to download css and java script books by maximillian scwartz? If yes, could you please share to me? |

Not to brag but I got my first remote role just 4 months after I started learning. I ascribe that to favour and the fact that I had a clear path to follow which others too have followed and achieved the same result. Please beginners like myself will find this helpful |
