deandavid: in warri the ban has affected the okada men, my fish farm business, market women dnt come to the pond as mush as they use to, because it is the okada they usually use to carry their fish to the market, the keke cant carry their fish, and cars dnt like coming to the ponds, because the road it nt good. I harvested my fish last week, i couldnt even sell up to half of my produce. Its so discouraging, and i just started, after spending more than 200k to feedIs your pond at Igoroke?.... my suggestion: If the market women really want to buy and the distance from your pond to the major road is not too far, support them by carrying the fish with wheel barrow or similar hand-pulled truck to the point where a cab will then help carry the fish to the market.....I hope this make some sense. |
@somadila: I agree with you. Internet banking is the best when it comes to banking transactions. In fact I have enjoyed the conveniences of internet banking until last month (Nov.) when I started experiencing some difficulties with the diamond internet banking platform. Although I grieve over my 10,000 naira loss, my loss it is nothing compared with the experiences you shared above. Thanks. @otilowaju: Thanks. You I right, I did not regret going back to the bank. My only regret is that I did not confirm the cash paid-out to me at the counter. At least the CRM intervened and tried to see if there was an error. @Stagger: "Common sense which unfortunately, does not seem to be so common". Na so O! Like I said, I hardly count to confirm my cash at the counter. Now I know better! I just don't want others like me to fall victim. @nas4q: I did not claim I have a case......not with all the boldly written disclaimer warning customers to count and confirm their cash before leaving the counter. I knew I had no case. But my going back to the bank revealed to me that the guy who paid me had something to do with my 10,000 naira (from his disposition). And I bet you, he will not go unpunished..... Trust me. Besides, I have already said I felt very silly; you need not remind me and like you said I have learnt my lessons....in a very hard way. @ihedioramma: No bi my fault. I needed to hurry with this particular transaction and return to back work. Like @somadila rightly said, internet banking option is our best bet but this bank networks “dey mess-up” atimes. For instance I transferred money into a colleague‘s account and the guy kept calling to say the credit has not reflected in his account after 72 hours. It made me feel as if I was lying to the guy. |
Monday 3rd of December is one of the days in my life I will never forget. I want to share my experience; so that others can learn and not fall victim of some unscrupulous bank cashiers. The gist is that: I usually prefer online transfer from my bank account to the beneficiary accounts but the bank "diamond bank" changed the requirement for cash transfer to other banks without informing customers...at least I wasn't informed. So I had to make cash withdrawal at Diamond Bank_shell Location Road Branch Oyigbo, Rivers State. I did not bother counting to confirm the cash; I assumed that the guy paid me the correct amount I requested for. I always assume. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I counted cash paid-out to me over the counter. I was however shocked when I got to the nearest UBA branch to deposit the money and the receiving cashier counted and discovered that the cash was 10,000 naira short. I later confirmed that I have been short-paid. 10,000 naira is no small money. (I have had such experiences but usually the amount ranges between 500 naira and 2,000 naira) I went back to the diamond bank branch to complain........ the rest is history ! I had a feeling that the cashier guy has something to do with my 10,000 naira. I FELT SO SAD, SO STUPID AND CHEATED. |
Missed call..... no bi new tins. GEJ was too busy "fixing" all the problems facing Nigeria when Obama's call came in. Anyway, we will set-up a commitee to look into this matter. ![]() |
Debeloved87: @logo77 thanks. But this letter of administration is something thats really making things difficult...i dont know if i can get some amount from the money which i can use to get the documents because presently i dont have a job and no cash for pocketI don't think they will give you any money without providing the necessary docs. If you've got no money to process the docs, just concentrate on getting a job or a business for now. You can work on claiming your dad's benefits (both from the bank and the PFA) later. Good luck ! |

@OP: You have to continue participating if you must win. I also feel that winning requires some element of luck. I have a brother who won 40 naira from 7up in the mid 1980s. But my personal rule is " if it sounds too good to be true, its certainly a scam" For example Goldsport/Limca promos usually promise affordable items and we get to see people who won the items among friends and relatives. |
rman: I have noticed that the underlying reason for the hatred towards telecoms operators, especialy MTN is because people expect these companies to change their fortune through promos.I also wonder how ETISALAT will tell us that some dude won "A MILLION DOLLARS" and vanished into the air. |
Your Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; Happy Birthday Sir ! |
Most customer service agents think they are doing the customer a favour. |

I have missed my way many times.I will share one of those bitter experinences: On this particular day, my plan was to trek from TBS (Tafa Balewa Square) to Idumata(both in Lagos Island) "Menh ! I suffer that day eehn no bi small" One thing I don't like is when people you ask for direction ignore you with a "particular type of look" . But thank God for GSM; this days when I miss may way for any reason I just call a couple of friends who may be familiar with the place for direction or better still ask the nearest Okada-man for guidiance. |
