Should he now take mat and sleep there? Did they trace everyday to know if he has not been there or must he announce to press whenever he wants to visit her grave. As much as i love my younger brother, it is sometimes very difficult for me to visit his grave site. He passed away two years ago and weeds already covered the place. My other younger brother goes there once in a while and hires someone to clear the weed. Truth is you only plunge yourself into depression whenever you visit the site of a loved one. Try to stay away as much as possible. Back to the MOD that posted this, who are you? Does this makes sense to you? If you like, ban me, na u sabi. Why put useless stories like this when there are more interesting and pressing stories posted everyday. i don't understand these people at all. NL is becoming more and more annoying everyday. |
Don't worry, GEJ will set up committee to look into it. This country is f*cked. |
The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee, FAAC, meeting for November ended in confusion Tuesday as representatives of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory accused the federal government of not accounting for about $1billion(N168 billion) of excess crude oil money. The Chairman of State Commissioners of Finance, Timothy Odaah, told reporters after the meeting which ended Tuesday night, that no state knew how the $1 billion difference reported in the Excess Crude Account balance, between October and November, came about. The FAAC meeting is a monthly gathering of state finance commissioners and the federal finance ministry and the Accountant General of the federation, where federal oil receipts are shared between the federal and state authorities. With falling oil price, the 36 states have turned more attention on the Excess Crude Account, which has depleted from more than $40 billion in 2007 to about $4 billion in 2014. Though Mr. Odaah said the discrepancy has been noted for discussion at the next FAAC meeting, his disclosure called to question how transparent the management of the excess crude revenues is. Prior to the October FAAC meeting, the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had told reporters that the balance of the Excess Crude Account stood at $4.11billion. At the event, the minster also revealed that the country’s external reserves rose from $36.6billion in June to $39.48billion as at October 16. She also said the balance in the Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) stood at $1.55 billion. But, at the end of the FAAC meeting on Tuesday, the Minister of state for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, told reporters that the current savings in the ECA had a balance of about $3.1 billion, raising questions about the $1billion difference. Mr. Odaah had said on October that owing to the dwindling revenue allocation to the states from the federation accounts as a result of falling oil prices, the states had sent a request to President Goodluck Jonathan that $2 billion be shared. But he said on Tuesday that the states had no knowledge how the balance suddenly dropped from $4.1 billion to $3.1 billion. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/173395-1-bn-excess-crude-money-missing-faac-meeting-ends-confusion.html |
Nigeria has been forced to revise its budget following the dramatic fall in the price of oil. Its finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, says its economy will now grow at 5.5% this year, rather than 6.4%. The new budget is based on an oil price of $65 a barrel, rather than the previous assumption of $77.40, although the revised figure is still higher than the recent level of about $60. Nigeria's government receives more than 75% of its revenues from oil exports. The country is trying to reduce its dependence on oil. Prices have steadily dropped in recent months and are now about half their previous levels. Falling demand on the back of slackening economic growth and an increase in alternative energy supplies, such as shale gas, have led to a mismatch between supply and demand. Dr Okonjo-Iweala urged Nigerians "to begin thinking of the country [as] a non-oil country". Nigeria has taken some key steps already in response to the falling oil price, which is at its lowest level since July 2009. It has devalued the naira and has applied higher taxes on luxury items. Dr Okonjo-Iweala said: "This budget is based on a few key indicators, $65 a barrel benchmark and we are going to stick to it for now, in spite of the decline in prices, because we feel the average price next year will be around $65 to $70. "The production level is 2.27 million barrels per day. We've revised the growth rate based on the new parameters for the country, down from 6.35% to 5.5% next year. But that is still one of the fastest growth rates we're experiencing in the world today." Nigeria's currency, the naira, lost 3.5% on the day, hitting a record low of 187.10 to the dollar. |

teemanbastos:Who is this one? |
Feranmicharles:Sincerely, I am inclined to say there is something wrong with whoever the MODs are on NL. Ban me if you want to. What is the meaning of this useless post? Just some couple of days ago, I posted about Seyanu Bashorun (a FUTA student, Geology) who needed assistance due to being diagnosed with Leukaemia (Cancer of the blood) at OAUTH and it is so heartbreaking how the post left untouched and did not make frontpage where well meaning Nigerians could intervene. There is even a link to show a video of him languishing in pain in the hospital. Somehow posts as useless as this are making the front page. Seun, you really need to re-brief your MODs. NL is totally full of junks in recent times. Rubbish! |
what makes it sad? |
closearms:Will be good if you suggest ways that you know. I am sure they are seriously considering all options. The thing is it is quite difficult to reason with this kind of ailment. It is a good thing that his was detected quite on time. In the case of my brother, he fell ill and collapsed the next day after complaining of headache. He died, all under just two days. Before he died, a CT scan was done and it revealed he had already bled into his brain. I can imagine what the family of this boy will be going through. |
MOD, can this be moved to the front page please? |
A 25-year-old Student of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Oluwaseyanu Bashorun is down with cancer of the blood and needs help from well-meaning Nigerians. The once very lively and energetic young man was diagnosed with Acute Lymphobastic Leukaemia(Cancer of the Blood) in February this year. Seyanu has been undergoing some form of palliative treatments at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) which has only helped in managing the condition so far but at the moment, he is reportedly in a critical state undergoing chemotherapy. “He needs a total of #11million for Bone Marrow Transfer & recovery in India,” his friends said. “All we ask is for you to support the cause which ever way you can. Cash contributions can be forwarded to: Account Name : Bashorun Oluwaseyanu, Account No: 0055612503, Bank : Diamond Bank Plc. If you have any questions or will like to know more you can contact Seun on 08132047374 or Amaobi on 08135245314.” Please note that I have no connection with the said fellow below. I saw the piece (see source below) and i felt it is worth sharing. If you are concerned and you feel like giving, you can go ahead to do your findings properly before you do so. There is a video of him in the link provided below. I lost my own younger brother who graduated from same school FUTA (Elect-Elect) to the same disease Acute Lymphobastic Leukaemia(Cancer of the Blood). He died at the age of 24 barely two years ago. Some of us here know my brother. I couldn't help but post this for anyone willing to help. My brother never had the same chance. Help this fellow if you can. Forget about all the indulgence...Person wey no get parent no dey marry? I beg to differ on its importance. Parental advice is even subject to consideration from the intending couple. As long as you feel he or she is your soulmate, next step is to introduce to your parent. At that point, what is left is for them to advise you both on how to grow your marriage. The advice shouldn't be about marrying a Yoruba girl or a church member or a degree holder. These criteria are for the couple to decide not the parent. |

I renounced religion some years ago and everyone knows i don't do religion any more. My dad and mum are very much aware and likewise my siblings. They try as much as possible to convince me that there is one supreme being somewhere waving a magic stick but it just doesn't make sense to me and seriously, i don't want it to make sense. I even tried convincing my two ex-pastors to forget religion. I always tell those who care to listen to convert and devote the energy they are expending on praying for me to change back to christianity to better their own lives because i care less about those sh.it. I don't go about announcing it but whoever decides to ask will know. I owe no one any explanation about what i choose to do and i rarely argue on the topic 'Who created this world?' or 'where will you go after death? I am less bothered how it came into existence. I am more concerned about doing my time faithfully and diligently here on earth and when it is time to pack up, then i'll find my square root. |
