TV01:I would say your point of view is a text book offering...Try to sample a cross section of your married friends and you will be surprised to see that both husband and wife are probably going to vote different candidates but that does not imply any form of disunity in their homes. No matter how you perceive it, politics rests on ideology and you can't be an authoritarian in this case. It is not all situation in the family that will warrant you to dictate what your spouse must do. These are instances where she can also have rights to her views. Trying to persuade is an indirect way of suppressing her opinions and you are also indirectly creating a scenario that might lead to quarrel/dissatisfaction. |
TV01:You are only referring to a situation where both ended up agreeing to a conclusion. What if it is otherwise? If I have a wife at this stage and she is trying to convince me to vote for GEJ, I will definitely not even listen not to talk of reaching a conclusion. In that case, will you send her packing? This has nothing to do with any autonomy. Everyone has equal rights when it comes to voting. If your wife feels GEJ has ruined this country, you certainly have no right to force her to vote GEJ. |

3. Flat tummy: A woman’s tummy is her beauty one Nigerian responder stated. They believe a woman is in shape when her tummy is trim. Unfortunately, emmmm, naija ladies with pot belly ![]() |
myhoodlink:Hmmmmm, I still feel partisanship or no partisanship, one's view on who to vote for should be a personal decision. This can be likened to religion when one grows up in a family that attends redeemed church for example, he is certainly bound to be in redeemed while growing but along the line of aging, he or she should have the final say on which denomination he or she feels more comfortable with. |
SagePerv:Short hair ke Na lie, or else naija ladies won't be going the extra mile to buy attachment to compensate for their short hair ![]() |
3cycle:Well that might be true in your case, but don't you think it is easy for your brother to have disagreed on this because it was your mum. Do you think it will be easy if it had been your dad? |
Enegod:Not sure about this. I think we prefer the yam legs ![]() |

chipmunkey:Exactly my point of view but there have been instances where families have disagreed on this same issue. I created the post because of an experience I witnessed last week. |

One man’s meat is another man’s poison. We decided to sample the opinion of most Nigerian men, and here are a number of things that stand out from all the responders we interviewed. 1. Looks: A typical Nigerian man loves his wife to be beautiful and good looking. It fuels their ego, when their woman is trendy. 2. Boobs: A large percentage of Nigerian men say they like big boobs. 3. Flat tummy: A woman’s tummy is her beauty one Nigerian responder stated. They believe a woman is in shape when her tummy is trim. 4. Big back side: Most Nigerian men believe that a woman with big back side will be fertile. They love the attention it attracts. Some say it arouses sexually feelings that cannot be explained. 5. Independence: All the Nigerian men interviewed said they love a woman who is financially independent, who will not depend on them always for money. 6. Respect: This is an innate desire of every man, little wonder there is a general agreement on this ideal. 7. Wide hips: In Nigeria, traditionally speaking, any woman with a wide hips will be able to give birth easily. So, that is a plus. http://pulse.ng/relationships/relationship-what-most-nigerian-men-love-about-their-women-id3584107.html |
As the presidential election is fast approaching, we have seen comments such as "My family and I have decided who to vote for", "My household will vote for" and so on. Do you think the husband should dictate who his wife and/or children should cast their votes for? Can this lead to disunity/fight in a home in a case where the wife decides not to agree with the husband? I feel individuals should be entitled to decide who to choose as candidate. Please share your opinion. |
2 years and 7 months ago, I had no job not to talk of earning 50k. Trust me, I earn close to 350 monthly now and other mouthwatering benefits. No be mouth, I've got witnesses on NL. Now, i can tell Bukunmi who left me then to go kiss transformer. |
EggovinMma:My question to you is 'what happens if you marry someone earning 500k per month and he loses his job three months after marriage? Will you divorce him? |

One Wale Ajisebutu has written to a Federal High Court in Lagos seeking to withdraw as a surety for a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who is facing money laundering charges. Ajisebutu was one of the two persons who stood as sureties for Fani-Kayode in the fulfilment of the bail conditions granted him by Justice Ramat Mohammed in December 2008. The bail was in the sum of N200m. Ajisebutu’s application to withdraw was listed for hearing before Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia on Tuesday. It was, however, not taken as it was learnt that Fani-Kayode had written to the court seeking for an adjournment. The surety said he was withdrawing because he had an urgent need for the documents of his landed property, which he had deposited into the court’s custody. Further proceeding in Fani-Kayode’s trial had been adjourned till March 26. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had charged him with 40 counts of money laundering. It was the allegation of the anti-graft agency, that while he was Minister of Culture of Tourism and the Minister of Aviation, Fani-Kayode severally dealt in cash sums above N500,000 without going through any financial institution. The alleged offence was said to have contravened Sections 15(1) (a) (b) (c) (d) and 15 (2) (a) (b) of the Money Laundering (prohibition) Act, 2004. But Ofili-Ajumogobia, had on November 17, dismissed 38 of the counts for failure of the EFCC to prove the particulars of the offence. Fani-Kayode, who is the Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential Campaign Organisation, is currently canvassing arguments to exonerate himself of the remaining two counts. The counts read, “That you, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on or before September 20, 2006, while serving as Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, made a transaction exceeding N500,000 which was not done through financial institution, by accepting cash payment of N1m, which sum was further paid into your personal account number, 103450252601 with First Inland Bank PLc Apapa branch, now FCMB, through one Supo Agbaje, your administrative staff, now at large. http://saharareporters.com/2015/03/17/money-laundering-trial-femi-fani-kayodes-bail-might-be-revoked-one-his-sureties-apply

Almaiga:It is a true reflection of a man that cannot control his wife. A whole president, what a shame! |
mperoakeem:They are surely learning from her... |
This woman continues to portray her idiocy everywhere she goes. This is the first time in the history of Nigeria that we are having a shameless first lady who keeps disgracing herself and the position of her husband. If a woman goes out and speaks without thinking like this, you can imagine what sort of advice she will be giving to her husband while at home. Imagine how the international community will be making jest of us because of this stark illiterate called dame...u no dey shame? No worry, na next week remain. Nigerians have tolerated this clown for 6 years, please as we have already decided, let's boot these empty barrels out come March 28. |
The Ekiti State Branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described First lady, Patience Jonathan as a comedian. The Ekiti APC also said that Mrs Jonathan and the State Governor, Ayo Fayose only entertained their supporters during a March 16 rally in the state. The party made the comments via a statement released on Tuesday, March 17, by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun. The statement reads: “Throughout her speech, she manifested an image of a village masquerade providing a momentary comic relief to a poverty ravaged community not in a hurry for socio-economic salvation.” “You would have thought that the First Lady would list her husband’s achievements in Ekiti State and then give the people some hope that her husband would build upon those achievements.” “But she engaged in a duet with her host and soul mate, Governor Ayo Fayose, in an empty campaign comedy to a thoroughly dazed enlightened Ekiti people. It was a perfect duet by two comedians that one does not need any counsel that Nigeria must be rescued from the captivity of the costumed ‘people of power’ without responsibility.” “She was consistently painting Buhari as a man that would herd Nigerians into jail without committing any crime whereas Buhari only insisted that criminals during his coming administration would go to jail. She said she was not ready to prepare food for Fayose in jail. Inadvertently, Mrs. Jonathan was telling Nigerians that Fayose is a candidate for the prison if Buhari wins.” “Mrs. Jonathan only came to Ekiti to entertain in a political theatre full of deceits and false props constructed by Fayose for maximum personal profits. The First Lady also described the APC as poison during the rally and urged her supporters not to vote for the party. http://pulse.ng/politics/patience-jonathan-first-lady-is-a-comedian-ekiti-apc-says-id3576659.html
