They come out and tell us these jihadists are not true Muslims but the fact remains that the ideologies of these terrorists groups are borne out of their beliefs in the religion. J haywire1:I do not in anyway agree with your comment 100%. As you mentioned you are entitled to your opinion but the fact remains that I will not hand over ice cream to someone who is trying to justify why a baby is dressed as a jihadist with bombs hanging on his chest. Mind you, you have not concocted your comments as opinion rather as ideas to be adopted. On the other hand, I've had excellent posts that have adorned the front page over time and obviously you can't expect every of my posts to be on the front page, even though they get ignored in recent times but nonetheless, I still had one on front page yesterday. So what are you talking about? Besides, I don't get paid for having a post on front page, so how do you think that should be a problem for me? What?? This is insane. Now this is what I call extreme... The Islamic State fighters have released an image of a baby dressed as a fighter with a grenade balanced on its chest. The images depicts how desperate the terror group is to radicalise the next generation of Jihadists - some before they can walk or talk, Mirror UK reports. Leaders encourage mums to show their infants graphic images of their 'Holy War' and read them bedtime stories about death and destruction in Iraq and Syria, the report also says. The Nigerian military fighting the Boko Haram militants in the North East have discovered a bomb making factory where improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used by terrorists were being produced. The Director, Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said the recovery was made during the ongoing cordon and search by troops in Buni Yadi,Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. Maj. Gen. Olukolade added that a large quantity of IEDs including those commonly used by suicide bombers were recovered from the site. According to him, “The factory, which was located in a fertilizer company, has also converted some of the materials therein for production of all types of IEDs. Troops are still evacuating the materials which include a large quantity of suicide bomber vests from the facility to their base. “It is believed that the heavy calibre bomb used in blowing up the bridge between Damaturu and Buni Yadi was produced in the factory. “The terrorists were sacked from Buni Yadi after a military assault that was conducted last Saturday. The troops advance was delayed by the series of IEDs planted on the highway leading to Buni Yadi. Four soldiers died from such IEDs in the course of the operation to clear terrorists from the town. “This discovery is expected to degrade the capability of terrorists in the production of explosives, which they have been using lavishly in the area until they were dislodged from their stronghold,” he said. Four soldiers died in the course of the operation to clear the terrorists. Seun:Seun, I guess it will help if you conduct survey polls on various aspects/routines/ functions on NL to help understand usage behaviors. As far as I know, you generate your view log by how many people clicked on a particular topic. That is a completely different scenario. I have clicked on this post not because it makes sense but because I needed to use it as an avenue to express dissatisfaction on the quality of the post. Someone else logged in and probably hissed and logged it while some love it. In this situation, what should be considered is what majority are saying. Take a sampling poll of the comments and analyse people's responses. A considerable and significant number of people that commented are not pleased with the post. Over 27000 views does not in anyway translate to acceptance. Like the poster ahead of me said, views don't matter, quality does. In a nutshell, there's room for your MODs to also be moderated on what hits the forum's front page. Maybe create a topic like ''How well are you satisfied with NL front page?'', and try to measure people's response. Yes to mean satisfied, No to dissatisfied and do a count. I am sure you will get a true reflection of what people are complaining of. 2 Likes |

Seun:Really...Seun you can see for yourself that the post has not in anyway interested anyone. Rather, people are condemning this. This is a forum you created out of creative reasoning. It shouldn't be turned into a dumping ground for all sort of rubbish. I will still maintain it that I know the quality of posts that comes through Nairaland in the past and it is not in anyway near what we are seeing this days. Check my profile, I've been on NL since 2008 and I know what this used to be. Besides, I have posted some lovely topics in the past few weeks and they don't get to make the front page. You can check yourself. Nowadays, you can guess who posted a particular topic before even opening the topic, all because your MODs have favorites. In case you need to know, NL has become part of some people's live including me and all we seek is good posts to captivate attention not things like this. |
