I've noticed a usual, immature and juvenile trend on Nairaland. Someone posts a topic - then some individuals with atrophied cerebral matter and compromised brain vasculature would hijack the thread and run their personal fantasies. The mods should step up in this regard. Any post that is unrelated to the topic should be deleted. It's disgusting to see these things. |

You've been having chest pain for 5 years- and you treated Angina - who gave you that diagnosis? Now you don't have enough money and you want to spend the little you have running tests that may not help you find a diagnosis. I find this trend very disturbing. Chest pain does not mean the problem is with the heart or the lungs. A myriad of conditions can cause a chest pain. I've already gone through the other thread. Answer a few questions: - Do you take alcohol regularly - Does the chest pain improve when you lie down or with any other position? - What triggers the chest pain? - When you breath in or breath out, does the pain get severe? -Do you have any skin lesions on any part of your chest? -Do you have occasional nausea or vomiting? - Have you ever vomited blood or noticed blood in ur stool? |
Coolboyz: ADVICE NEEDED FROM DOCTORS AND STUDENT DOCTORS.1)Your result is good enough for medicine. The minimum criteria is 5 credits in English language, mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry and you've fulfilled that basic criteria. 2) Combining arts and science subjects isn't folly. It is not related to your chances of being employed in the labour market- even in the least microscopic bit. Good luck in your endeavors. |

I answered that question the day it was posted. It's in my jotter. I was waiting for someone to at least attempt. It's pretty simple. |

Well.... I can't say for other families but in my family - that doesn't hold true- and I'm glad for it. I am the first born and my brothers are doing excellently than I did when I was their age. It gives me pride and fulfillment to see that I have younger siblings who have chosen to tow the path of astute excellence, self-reliance and record-breaking successes. The way their mind works - astounds me to say the least. I do my best to encourage them - to make sure they make sound informed choices, and to make sure they achieve challenging heights and weather the storms of life. Well, I worked for it. And I'm glad it's paying off. If you have younger ones, don't leave them to their folly -thinking they would learn on their own. Some may - after making a couple of mistakes. Others won't - and would forever become an eternal shame to you. In the long run, you'd bear the entire burden of responsibility if something goes wrong. Blood, they say, is thicker than water. So instead of investing in vain women and short-term irrelevant desires of life- invest in your younger ones, invest in your family....your time, your advise, your companionship, maybe your money- it will definitely pay back. |
^^ Also waiting for the answer to this question. It's quite easy. |

san316: The words of the poor and hopeless. Poverty is truly in the mind. How much are you worth? |
Don't use the word "bribe". It's should be reward for good behavior. The downside of this is that children exploit the scenario and use it to their advantage thus setting the price for what they should do. Thus you hear things like "if I make my bed I'm getting N100" " if I do my homework I'm getting N50". I prefer reverse reward- if you don't do what you're supposed to do, you're denied some usual benefits. Also, positive reinforcement of good behavior by reward is acceptable. Ultimately, I prefer that children are shown continuously how engaging in good and responsible behavior is to his/her own benefit- and not doing the parents a favour so that demands can be made. Finally, When the "rewardee" now has to transact with the rewarder before he/she engages in any action that is his/her responsibility ...hell to the no! I won't accept that. |
She's 18 and you're 6 years older than her. Does this mean you're 24? Because I'm really worried. |
JeffreyJamez: Wait....who said anything about hating?!...The average Nigerian thinks if you have a different opinion to him/her, then you're definitely hating. But then- they're just average Nigerians. |

Why is he sitting like one of the passengers? Him dey dear? |
I see it as a dense form of immaturity. It's very juvenile. If you have issues with somebody or anybody, be an adult and sort it out with communication. |
