Move on. Don't struggle to settle with people who are not interested in settling with you. There are a whole lot of better choices out there. Invest in your potential - the right person will come along. |

Whoever earns less should resign. Most Kids these days are bereft of parental love and attention in the name of making money. No matter how much money you make, if you don't have time for your children, you're just wasting time. |
That's her business. |

Modernism comes with advances in technology. Technology makes you more self-reliant and purpose-driven. Besides, communal life came with its own disadvantages. So bro, all man to himself. |
For the love of Adam, they're underaged kids. You shouldn't be thinking of anything physical with them- infatuation or not. If you're an adult , be an adult. |
Nairaland is obviously a haven for the lonely and depressed. |
This is my method. I'll first start with the benefits, then the requirements and finally what I really do. The benefits are diverse...I sleep 6 hours normally. I maintain friendly relations with people - I don't have to sacrifice my relationships to stay relevant in the scheme of things. I have time for a host of other things. It gives me a balanced approach to my academics....I'm not under any unnecessary stress to function. Requirements: I use course outlines, a good textbook, a notebook , my attention in class and finally discipline. Then the actual method: I read a topic at least 4 times . The first time is just before it is taught in class- usually the night before. That's where my course outline comes in. During this phase the information is hazy and still wussy. But I still go ahead to read it anyway. If I understand it thoroughly during this phase, it's a huge plus. I use this phase to make the first note which are subject to reviews in subsequent readings. The second time I read it is when I'm actively listening in class when it is being taught. The hazy information from the first time then crystallizes into a solid bolus of information. The third time I read is immediately after the class. I more or less skim through and by this time I have almost understood it thoroughly. By this time, I am ready for any exam on that topic. So even if I don't revise it the fourth time, I'm still good to go. The fourth time is when I see examination timetable, and under that adrenaline I look at it one last time. It has never failed me. |
Doclight: very well thank u n u?I'm taking life easy in diverse perspectives. So far so good, it's been perfect. |
Samakinr: ...thanks my brother, i actually read up 'university of Texas requirements, and it stated that a 'First class' degree +/GRE of more Than 75% will be highly considered for international students...it further stated that though there is no benefit of scholarship BUT all successful students will be automatically employed as a research assistant... I don't know if it applies for all departments though, i only read on the department of medicinal chemistry...and guess what, we are having thesame research interest...m also having a prospect of working in the field of oncology... Thanks brother Lomax, i luv youMasters or PhD? Most PhD folks are sponsored. The University gives you a stipend to survive on while funding your programme as far as you meet the requirements. Do it this way - grad school.com. Search for your area of research interest. You'll have a lot of options. Sometimes the info on their website is outdated, you have to send a mail to the address on the University web site for specific enquiries. The most important thing for your PhD is your GRE score and your GPA. If you have a previous research experience, that's a plus. Requirements vary with the school. Don't limit your options either. Texas is a cool place. I'm considering either of Texas or Boston. |
Samakinr: ...lomaxx, u see, i like that statement you made there...'i will just go into research straight'I have interests in research too. My research interest is in Cancer Genetics and Molecular Medicine. After MBBS, I'm going straight for PhD. No waste of time. There is so much potential in research outside this country. My advise for you - go for a PhD after B.Sc. That's if you have a good CGPA. If you don't , make sure you have stellar GRE scores ESP if you want to go for top tier schools. With PHD there are mad prospects in industry and pharm. This country sucks man. It's easy to get into grad school. Check gradschool.com and look up stuff. |
