alutacontinua: Not sure, maybe! It's a romantic comedy (I love comedy). Your love for Paris reminded me of a popular Sabrina Fairchild quote "Paris is always a good idea". Talking about exploring Paris...you're my Paris ![]() |
alutacontinua: I would love to explore Paris. Two hearts beating as one. There, you've proven it. You've seen the 1954 movie "Sabrina" ? |
alutacontinua: Dr. Lagusta, i wish u very wonderful VE sessions with the nurses.Life hasn't been more glorious than this moment. Let it be written in the sands of time...let the annals of history document this memorable union...let destiny grant the unification of my humble self and my beloved sunshine, miss aluta (soon to be converted ) the satisfaction of desires yet to be met . My dear aluta, we should go somewhere to celebrate. What's your country of choice? |
alutacontinua: @lomaxx, dr. lagusta dumped me for all dose winchy-winchy nurses. Is there still vacancy on ya side? I'm e-lonely.I'm yet to meet someone who turns on my soft side the way you do. . At the risk of dying for this profess of unbridled desire, (I can see someone eyeing this post ) there's always one more vacancy for you .When are you resuming? |
Lagusta: lommmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!!! |
Lagusta: lommmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!!!So far so good. I hope you know the drill for us medics in the Nigerian military. Doctors are recruited via Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) into Medical Corps of the Nigerian military. However, you must either be a consultant(general surgery, anaesthesiology, ent, radiology, o&g, pediatrician) or an mbbs holder (like you are) with NYSC discharge certificate or exemption. Once you're recruited, you will do a 9 months training- after which you'll be commissioned as a Lieutenant (2 star). Within 3 to 8 years or so, you can convert to Direct Regular Commission - if you want to belong to combatant services. But as DSSC, the highest rank is Brig. General. They recruit around July each year. You can always look around here http://www.nda.edu.ng . Goodluck boss! |

Life is a choice. No one needs to be blamed about the informed choices of others. They know what they are doing...and somehow it is working for them. So... |
aliandro: @ ayopo,u are welcome into d group.Itz ON D RUN,ur guy.Any body in d room 2 explain d concept of ANEURYSMSWhen the diameter of an artery increases by equal to or more than 50%, it is an aneurysm. It is due to a localized weakening of an arterial segment . Can be classified as : A) True or False Aneurysm (True aneurysm involve all 3 arterial layers - intima, media and adventitia) B) Fusiform or Saccular (based on how it looks. Fusiform involves the whole circumference of the artery. Saccular is an outpouching) C) Arterial or Venous ( Arterial is more common) D) Congenital or Acquired ( Congenital- Berry ; Acquired - Mycotic) What causes aneurysms? Mostly due to atherosclerosis and hypertension. Other stuff like DM, obesity, and tobacco smoking. But mostly atherosclerosis and hypertension. source : 13 months of histopathology percussions |

m.esther96:Hey sweetie. How have you been? Been a while. |
Doc_Miss: Hey guys ... I fell on the stairs and began to have this Pain in my chest. . Not too bad tho. I felt Like my heart shifted(LOL..is that possible) Anyway I"m still a Learner. The chest pain eventually stopped . But I normally have Palpitations Frequently . I just wanna know if something is wrong and If there are Drugs that can stop Palpitations . Alutacontinua .. I wanna be Like u when I grow upWhat made you fall? Was the floor slippery? D Were you dizzy? Did you hit your chest region when you fell? And you mentioned palpitations....what do you mean by palpitations? Was the palpitations co-existing with the chest pain? Or did it come after you treated the chest pain? What alleviated the chest pain? What drugs did you take when you had the chest pain? You have a very interesting clinical history. Palpitations following a fall is very unlikely. Normally, I would have passed- but it's quite interesting. |

meipsum1: I want to say a very big thank you to everybody that replied. You all have been helpful. I think I've got the drill now. @D bestdoc, thanks for allaying my fears. I now know that I am not the only one with this "depressing" style of study as your room mate called it. I'm almost like you. I sleep for like 4-5 hrs in a day, on an average day, I sleep for 5 hrs but when we have tests in view, for like 1 week to the test, I sleep for like 3-4 hrs a day. That was how I did throughout my 200L level and all was well. I am now in 300L, and I have started to note a decrease in my RETENTIVE MEMORY. Before now, I have a very great understanding capacity and a very, very high retentive memory, I read once and get it and I retain it for a very long time. But the retentive memory seems to be dwindling though the high understanding ability is still there. It was while I was googling for the cause of my dwindling retentive memory that I came across a post on sleep. It said one of the side-effects of inadequate sleep is that neurons start to misfire which inturn leads to forgetfulness amidst other scary side effects. I could live with other side effects but I couldn't afford to mess up my brain, I still need it for clinicals, residency e.t.c. So I was scared. That is why I asked the question I asked. But colleagues and senior colleagues, what could be responsible for a dwindling retentive memory. Thanks.Med school is not just a place. It's a journey taken with patience, determination and an inextinguishable flare. It's not just a place. It's a process. And in this process, things are bound to change. Either for the good or vice versa. These changes are not pathological. They are not disease entities. When it happens we should not be quick to assume something is wrong with us. We should, as a matter of importance, adapt speedily and steadily. Time was when you read once and it sticked. Perfect! And as you progressed, that streak of perfection started dwindling. Brother, it doesn't mean anything is wrong. It just means you should adapt to these changes. The farther you go in this journey, the more you need not only rely on first-hand memory alone. As you progress, my dear friend- you will need repitition. Tonnes and tonnes of repitition to strike a perfect blow. Repitition consolidates your memory. How frequent you look at your academic material will determine how easy it would be at your finger tips. Go over it once. Go over it again. And again. And again. You have all the time in the world to go over it - yet again. After reading, write out what you think you read. All u can remember- and try to compare it to the original material. See what you missed out. The farther you go in this journey- the more you will need to rely on repeated readings to stick. Long term memory is achieved by consolidation of short term. How do you consolidate? Repitition. Goodluck |
Dr.'Hesjay:Do me a favour. Ask your brother if the name "Emaediong Akpanekpo" is familiar to him with respect to his entry in this essay competition. |

Saxophemsy: Question:the normal rbc count is 4-6 million per cu mm while wbc count is 11,000per cu mm yet the bone marrow contains 500times more wbc-producing myeloid series dan dat of rbc(precisely about 75% wbc and 25% rbc). Explain how or why it is so1) Lifespan. RBC - 120 days. WBC : 6- 8 hours. So WBC have a lower lifespan. 2) Also, unlike red blood cells which only circulate, white blood cells are not only found in circulating blood. A good number are in the tissues doing their job. And this number you can't count. |
I'm interested in the Curve 4. 17k ? |
