joyandfaith: I remember some years ago, my hand was just dried of water and I tried to switch on the electric cooker type socket in the kitchen and the next thing was a jolt of electric shock the type I had never felt before. Since that day whenever I wanted to switch on the same socket I put a thick hand towel barrier between my hand and the socket. My 5k second hand microwave also shocked me lightly in 2008 and I also remember opening my side garden metal gate and it leaned onto a neighbors barbed wire security fence which must have been plugged into electricity as I got a shock from the metal door. Life is too cheaply lost in Nigeria unduly and when you need the pro bono lawyers to fight to get compensation from PHCN for this woman's husband, you will not see them. Same way power surge from PHCN destroyed all the computers in my cousins internet cafe in the days internet cafes were profitable. I am still puzzled at how my touching a red plastic electric cooker pull down switch could have led to my receiving an electric shock and my hands had just been dried before touching the plastic switch |

ChoCho54: Thank you my sister. Some Nigerians are too lazy to read. After spelling it out that it is a possible mugshot gleaned from searching google with "Oluseun Adedapo Abiodun" (the name on the convicted governors charge sheet) and clicking on images, some dim witted and lazy Nigerians who are possibly on the payroll of the self confessed credit card criminal Governor are still chatting shit. And by the way I am from the same Ogun State as the thief of a governor. So, whoever is not happy that a mugshot of the criminal fraudster governor was sourced from the net can go fxxx themselves as i don't give 2 flying fuckks what they think. No wonder Nigeria is in the sordid, sorry state that it is in when a self confessed, self admitting credit card fraudster of a governor is still being given the benefit of the doubt to keep on stealing from the hapless citizens ?? The juju wey these criminal Nigerian politicians take tie down the eyes, common sense and reasoning of Nigerians must be out of this world. Whilst developed countries are showing outrage and demanding their Prime minister resigns because he went to a lockdown party, our own citizens in Nigeria have the effrontery / stupidity to be defending a self confessed, self admitting credit card fraudster of a governor whose charge sheets are all over the internet. I think Nigerians are not yet ready to be delivered from these criminals in power. There just isn't that critical mass of outrage yet and there may not be in our lifetime as a large number of Nigerians celebrate criminality meaning they must be criminally minded themselves. Alexia20: I don't know about any other thing but what I do know is that :- 1. You DO not want to start your life or driving life in the UK by giving false information on insurance application forms. 2. Insurance companies do compare notes with one another. 3. You don't want to mess with the British Financial Services Industry (of which Insurance belongs). 4. The UK keeps records like kilode and when you least expect it, it may come back to bite you. 5. If you can not afford to drive a particular car or any car at all, then don't drive. 6. False information on an insurance application form can lead to jail, substantial fines, and a criminal record. I've had a UK licence for decades and I don't have a car. IF you must drive a car, then research first online the total cost of running the car and only buy one when you are sure you can afford the insurance cost and other costs. Thread with caution about supplying false information to insurance companies that are regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority or to any UK company for that matter. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

Maybe you will hate it when he is arrested for yahoo yahoo and he leads the police to your house to arrest you and knowing Nigerian police, they will believe that you and your brother in law are into Yahoo Yahoo together. Even my own blood brother will not be allowed to live in my house if he was into Yahoo yahoo. Regarding your wife asking you not to put mouth into her family matter, she is not yet ready for a marriage that lasts and I think you have to man up and put your feet down in YOUR own house. Your wife seems to value her family's opinion above yours and that tells me your marriage is a bit shaky as 2 have not become 1 yet. Anyone, man or woman who values their family's opinion above that of their husband or wife should be ready for that marriage to collapse because their family members intentionally or unintentionally will be feeding him or her bad thoughts about the wife or husband and most times these selfish inlaws and outlaws will slowly but steadily EVENTUALLY drive a permanent wedge between the man and wife. 1 Like 1 Share |

ShalewaT: 2 wrongs don't make a right and moreover If you need an operation on the NHS and they need someone to sign the consent form, your brother in Nigeria can not sign the form. Note that unlike in a life insurance form, there is no money coming to anyone regarding an NHS consent form as its just a case of who the UK hospital will contact in case that person say for instance needs a consent form to be signed in case the person is maybe unconscious and needs an urgent operation so they need someone based in the UK to give them that consent by signing the form before the operation proceeds. Also, don't fall for the bad habit of doing tit for tat or revenge in a marriage if you want your young marriage to last. The UK has its own stresses that daily threatens ALL marriages. Don't add revenge to it. Speak openly about your concerns to him in a non heated way and tell him how you feel. 11 Likes 1 Share |

ShalewaT: Don't harbor any negative thoughts about your husband using his cousin as next of kin as his intentions may not be sinister but innocent. Why not ask him why he didn't us you as next of kin and don't tun it into a fight so that he can tell you the honest truth. As he stated his cousin as next of kin to the NHS and If he doesn't work for the NHS, then there obviously is no money coming to anyone from the NHS in case the worst happens. It could just be because his UK based cousin has been in the system longer than both of you and your husband innocently thinks it is better to use someone who has been longer in the system as next of kin but whatever you do, don't harbor grudges against your husband and better to ask him why he didn't use you in a non confrontational and non accusatory tone / manner. Your young marriage is more important than putting it on the line for what may just be an innocent action. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

The personal allowance is designed to save you tax in 12 equal monthly installments. IamE: Very true. I have a Bangladeshi colleague aged 29 who has borrowed £10,000 twice now to send to his Brothers in Bangladesh to process their USA emigration Visa and he is not expecting anything back from them as all he wants is for them to escape poverty. He himself was brought to the UK aged 13 by his uncle and i remember when his dad died back home he flew to Bangladesh that night even though he didn't have a dime, his cousins paid for his ticket and when he bought a house, some of his cousins contributed towards his deposit and he will do the same for them when the time comes as according to him, it is their culture. Compare this to Nigeria where a more well off family member will almost turn his or her own siblings to slaves and will expect them to worship him or her for the peanuts they get from him or her and they will forever be reminded how they were assisted by him or her and the richer a Nigerian is, the more heartless and wicked they become. 7 Likes 4 Shares |

Careless and irresponsible parenting all around. When you tell parents not to buy smart or even dumb phones for their underage children, you will be called a prude or old fashioned. They forget that the Bible says that Foolishness is in the hearts of every child. You give mischievous children a smart phone with internet access in today's world and you don't supervise the sites they visit or put parental blocks on the phone and you expect your child to resist peer pressure or downright inquisitiveness and not visit naughty sites to learn about "every thing". You must be fooling yourself as a parent or are semi illiterate. Some parents forget that the brain of even a teenager is not fully developed talk less a 10 year old. That's how a 5 year old boy was expelled from school in England for taking his parents phone to school and showing his 5 year old class mates an "inappropriate" video |

descarado: It's a more draconian stance along the lines of Theresa May's policy of (making the UK Inhospitable for illegal immigrants) and the major problem I have with the Rwandan policy is the fact that the Rwandan Govt may think they are getting free money from the UK Govt in return but how many dangerous criminals from Eastern Europe will end up in Rwanda and cause trouble all over Africa. The Rwandan President probably doesn't know the number of dangerous criminals in Europe who daily try to escape from one European country or the other into Britain ?? The Rwandan President is advised to look at the following list of European and Non European hardened criminals some of who have escaped from their own home countries and are still escaping into the UK and maybe he will have a rethink - https://eumostwanted.eu/ Rwandan President probably does not know that on the above Europol wanted list (similar to America's Interpol) is a female named Zámečníková Eva who is wanted for attempted assassination in her home country of Slovak Republic and the Rwandan President may think that all Europeans have clean records and can not be criminals. he will be shocked. What happens if the fugitives on the above Europol list claim asylum in the UK and are immediately sent to Rwanda and these are dangerous criminals if you look at the faces and crimes they committed on the above list. I just hope the British are not again playing on the naivety and laziness of African leaders when it comes to doing their own personal research as the Brits may intentionally see this Rwanda policy as a way of dumping dangerous criminals in Africa as it serves 2 purposes for the Brits - 1. They can report falling numbers of illegal immigrants (an election winner in Britain for any political party) and 2. If dangerous criminals are dumped in Africa, crime will drop in the UK and it will go up in Africa. |

Xanderlex: It is possible but not feasible or sustainable long term to work in a demanding and brain taxing 40 hr IT job and then add another heavy lifting 36 hour care work shift on top of that making a total of 76 hours a week. Bros, you can only do what you can afford for those back home as you are not anyone's saviour. Don't age or die young or suffer a nervous breakdown because you will not get enough sleep with this extra 36 hours on top of your normal 40 hours and if God forbid you have a nervous breakdown due to lack of sleep and can't do any of the 2 jobs again and hence have no income, those at home will still survive and some of them may even mock you in your predicament. Do your best and leave the rest as you are not made of stone but of flesh which can breakdown if you put excessive demands on it Your sleep is an important way to combat stress and this your 76 hour per week work plan is not health friendly plus as a man do you really want to delve into the murky world of care work ?? Don't burn the candle at both ends as your health and peace of mind will most likely suffer as a result. Allow yourself to recover from the 40 hour IT shift in peace instead of loading another 36 hour care work onto it and manage whatever the 40 hours gives you and remember that you are not father christmas and the people back home don't have a clue the stresses you may be facing at work, so do whatever you can afford for them and don't let them push you to overwork yourself in order to meet their insatiable appetite for cash gifts as you are not a Government Social Security center that hands out cash benefits. A distant relative in Naija sent me a text last month of his sons impending marriage on 8 April and I just ignored the texts and missed calls as I did not want him to make a habit of turning me into an ATM just because my brother gave him my number behind my back in Dec and he asked me for money then and I sent him 40k in Dec and now he is asking me for money for his sons wedding and this is a distant relative I had not seen for more than 30 years until I went home for my Dad's funeral in 2020. One thing I respect Oyinbo (English) people for is that their families place no financial demands on them even if one of them is poor and the other rich. 11 Likes 2 Shares |
