PoliticsRe: Why We Haven’t Released El-zakzakky – Presidency by lonelydora: 8:06am On Jul 24, 2019
I am Indifferent on this El-Zakzaky issue. If his members can fight this way when he's not around, just imagine what will happen when he is released and fights from the front? Those guys are deadly. They took their 'madness' to an all-time high when they blocked COAS.

Whoever that has stayed in Zaria will understand what I'm saying.

On the other hand, if presidency continues to detain him, the protest will continue and more people will die. Stray bullet has no direction and knows no one. It can hit anyone.

I am just confused.

Anyways, well done to CBN

Bankers are the most corrupt people in Nigeria. How will Nigeria move forward when banks loans are inaccessible? Even if they want to give loan, the conditions are too difficult, not to mention the high interest rates.

It's only in Nigeria that banks give between 25% - 35% interest rate.

PoliticsRe: (breaking News) US Imposes Visa Ban On Nigeria Politicians by lonelydora: 7:21am On Jul 24, 2019
omoiyalayi:
US imposes visa ban on politicians who undermined Nigeria’s democracy

The US government has announced visa restriction on Nigerians who “sabotaged” the country’s democracy.

This was made known in a statement signed by Morgan Ortagus, spokesperson of the US department of state.

“The United States is a steadfast supporter of Nigerian democracy. We commend all those Nigerians who participated peacefully in the February and March 2019 elections and have worked to strengthen Nigerian democratic institutions and processes,” the statement read.

“As Nigeria marks the twentieth anniversary of a return to democratic rule this year, we remain committed to working together to continue to advance democracy and respect for human rights and achieve greater peace and prosperity for both our nations. We condemn those whose acts of violence, intimidation, or corruption harmed Nigerians or undermined the democratic process.

“In a January 24 statement, the U.S. government said that we would consider consequences – including visa restrictions – for individuals responsible for undermining the Nigerian democratic process or for organising election-related violence.  To that end, the Secretary of State is imposing visa restrictions on Nigerians believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, undermining democracy in Nigeria. These individuals have operated with impunity at the expense of the Nigerian people and undermined democratic principles and human rights.”

The department of state also emphasised that the actions announced are specific to certain individuals and not directed at the Nigerian people or the newly elected government.

The names of the affected persons were not disclosed.

Thank you Trump. They should stay here and develop the country. I wish the ban will also extend to their children and wards.

The question you should be asking is who is collecting this data and what are doing with it?

I feel sorry for all those clicking like for you...it shows you gullible followers of this pastor that hates justice can never repent. Falana is not the only lawyer in this country. You can have your lawyers and also decide to seek advice from other lawyers...don't talk for the seek of getting likes.the good news is that all effort by your pastor to divert the matter to Abuja has been defeated. I have told the world that even though your pastor was set free by our laws, busola will take solace in the fact that the heavy burden on her heart has been removed ...she now has gotten closure...atleast she didn't end up taking snippers to end her life cos of what gullible brainwashed people like you will say to her. The good news is that God in heaven is now aware of the kind of things manufacture in your so called church...we can deceive men but not God. Busola has a supportive husband who has through his music earn the respect of the masses....that cannot be said about your pastor.
Shut the fvck up. Have sense, you won't?

BBNaija And Its Mysterious Selection Process

Every year, thousands of Nigerian youths troop to various audition centres across the country in a fierce and dangerous selection process in order to partake in the Big Brother Naija Reality Show. No doubt, many have lost vital possessions while some sustained various degrees of injuries. I for one, has never been a fan of this show because I'm still trying to figure out what the show is all about and of what benefit it is to the Nigerian youths. It seems the only things promoted on this show are sex, alcholol, party and more sex. Nevertheless, I'd like to leave this aspect for another time. The focus of this article is the selection process for housemates on the BBNaija show.

Why is it that MOST folks who found their way to the BBNaija show seemed to be connected to some notable figures in one sector or the other in Nigeria? Why is that MOST of them had already gotten some degree of popularity before they were selected as BBNaija housemates? Why is it that MOST of them had already gotten some exposure living abroad before they were selected as BBNaija housemates? Is there a secret behind this that we do not know or is it just a coincidence? Some persons might want to point out Efe Ejebah, BBNaija winner 2016 edition as a contrast to my opinion but I believe we can all read. It is the same reason I used uppercase for the 'most' for those who find it difficult reading between lines in write-ups like this very one. If you are good in Statistics and research writing in Social Sciences, you would understand the importance or essence of respondents. If you are not, I will use a layman's language that you would understand better. In a series of occurrences, there is a frequency which happens to be the highest occurrence. When series of events occur, the event/factor with the highest occurrence is used to judge situations.

Now, what are the criteria for selecting people into the house by BBNija organizers? Is it age, fluency in English, wealth, fame, international exposure, educational background, beauty/handsomeness, sultriness or pure connections? Why do we always see people who want to act 'foreign' in BBNaija editions? Why can't we have Nigerian youths from all walks of life in the show? I mean, why can't we have Idemudia, Oghenerukevwe, Olawole, Idris or Obinna who has never tasted the slightest amount of luxury in life ever before? I am sure this category of people take part in the auditions every year. How come most of these housemates have featured in one advert, music video or movie before?

There are so many questions many Nigerian youths do not bother to ask before trooping out every year to take part in the BBNaija auditions which I consider a high profile entertainment scam!!!

Any entertainment show where the selection process is clouded in secrecy and not spelt out absolutely is not worth the stress of right-thinking youths.

8 people died in the early hours of today as a result of Generator fume poisoning.

It was gathered that one hausa man was asked to remove dirty water from a soakaway pit, But he ignorantly took the generator set with him inside the pit and switched it on, then tragedy occurred!
What killed is not the generator fumes but the leaking of Ammonia gas on the soakaway. A similar incidence happened in Ogoni few years back.

gracegrace668:
Hello everyone. Please, I'm not a newbie on NL. I opened this account to protect my identity.

I never thought I'd use this word to ever describe myself. Sadly, I am an alcoholic. It has taken me a great deal of embarrassment and pain to finally come to this conclusion.

I'm a female in my early 20's. One of the first things people comment on when we have a conversation is how intelligent I am. Good enough, I fair well academically and have done so for as long as I can remember. There is this dark side of me however. I am an alcohol addict.

I've read about my condition, especially at times when I swear I would never indulge in excessive drinking anymore. A person like me is called a functioning alcoholic. I started drinking as a way to forget some emotional and troubles but as I see, this in no way helps especially longterm.

I drink everything from wine, spirits to liquor. I go out with friends that drink. I go out to drink alone. I buy some alcohol to drink at home. I go from laying on the bed to walking out to buy alcohol. I just drink, drink and drink. I'm very ashamed of this. Sincerely, I want to stop. I want to make more meaningful decisions and relationships.

Please, how do I go about this? What can I do? Is there someone/a Group that helps with this kind of condition? Please help me.

Please help me move this to the permanent site. I'll be reading for suggestions.
