Reading  joeagbaje post makes me baffled. while i understand that the venue was small and could not contain all the attendess. I am at a loss as to why the only alternative the church would think of was to use money to discourage people coming to the venue. Surely there are other ways that does not involve money that can used for crowd control.
To charge people for attending a service cannot be justified. We have to the era where the rich are the ones that would have exclusive spots in church. A poor man would think twice before paying N1000 for a church service.

The ethnic proponents have admitted the falsity of Emeagwali claims but argue that we should just keep quiet because the claims about Emeawagli have not hurt anyone. I beg to disagree; we should all have the true fact and decide what to do with what we have heard.

Facts not disputed by the ethnic proponents:

1. Emeagwali is not the father of the internet, never was;
2. He never won a Nobel Prize in computing as none exist; and

From a legal standpoint, Nigeria is a secular state. So a situation where certain institutions introduce a particular code of behavior based on a certain religious practice is not only wrong but illegal. We have already been forced to join the IOC which is an association of Islamic states when we are not an Islamic state. For those who may not know, being a Muslim is unofficially a requirement to get admission into universities in the core north. Secularism is allowing each person to live his life according to the practice he/she believes in as long as it does not interfere with the dynamics of society. Whether the person is an atheist, freethinker, buddhist , hinduist e.t.c  is irrelevant to this discourse.

We may banter with each other over what is clearly a serious matter but may we not wake up one day and find out that when we slept, Nigeria has been turned into an Islamic state. We need to be watchful.

I met two Christian couples who have been married for 2 years and 6 years respectively, the wife in the two year marriage is unhappy. Both families belong to a strict Christian grouping that believes in Christian domestic discipline. In this the husband who is the head of the household is allowed to discipline his wife to correct her behaviour and remind her of the proper way a Christian woman is supposed to behave. This discipline usually takes the form of spanking the woman's bottom.

The problem for the woman complaining is that her husband according to her spanks her too much and that her buttocks are almost permanently sore.

The other lady ( married for 6 years) advised her to change her behaviour so that there would be no need for the husband to administer that many spankings. After some more discussion the sore bottomed woman agreed to try and amend her behaviour.
