Messi fans should learn from Maradona and CR7 fans, you don't respond to everything that comes out of Pele mouth.
Dude thrives on controversy. He's sh*t on fellow Brazilian legends, Maradona, CR7; you think he was going to give Messi a pass?
Messi is a one-trick player and that's feinting. One could argue he doesn't need more than that to enter the GOAT conversation. And that should have been it. After all Maradona is also a one-trick player.
As for Pele being a fraud. Yes, his achievements may have been overblown, but of all the fellows in the GOAT conversation, Pele is the most versatile. He could do everything on the football pitch. EVERYTHING! He could play at any position. From finishing to goalkeeping. He could dribble solely using body feints like Messi/Maradona or using skills like CR7/Ronaldinho. Speed, acceleration, playmaking, controlling a game. He is not just the ideal #10, he is the ideal player.
CR7 may be the biggest sports personality on the planet, Maradona could be a religion, but Pele became football. Dude surpassed all the legends before him, then continued to cast his shadow on every other player to play the game. Pele is to football what Gretzky is to hockey and Ali is to boxing. Dude will remain a mythical figure.

Netfilix: The truth again is.... Madrid defense is so annoying.
It has been like that for a long time.
Eibar Scored 3 past Madrid.
I wont be surprised if Girona score 50. Even then we never lost against Eibar. And we always scored against them. This is our first loss and first game without scoring against them. We keep breaking negative records this season. We simply can't help ourselves. The game was bad on all levels. Solari made the mistake of using Ceballos as DM when Llorente is fit and didn't even make the bench. I hope he learns. Then for some reason we weren't able to be press-resistant when passing triangles is our specialty and all our players have amazing on-the-ball control. Furthermore for whatever reason Benz and Bale after playing with CR7 for years couldn't beat the offside trap even once. The template seems to be any team that comes at us will get goals. If we have a sh*t game like today, we'd lose. This was our first team. If we replayed a better pressing team like Liverpool today, this thread would have been a carnival. We are lucky Barca have been misbehaving in the league as well. If this was last year, the point gap woulda been massive. -Lord |

monerozi5590: Lol. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/ No be everything them dey argue. Early in 2007, Real Madrid began courting Ronaldo in earnest. They were knocking on an open door. In March 2007, Ronaldo made clear his feelings: "Everyone knows that I love Spain. I'd like to play there one day. However, I'm happy at Manchester United. If I don't leave now, if I leave in two, three, four or five years, I'd be happy." It was only a matter of time.
"Ronaldo's determination to come here [surprised me]," says Ramon Calderon, who was Real Madrid president when the Portuguese joined the club in 2009. "I remember we got an agreement with Ronaldo in Manchester. Finally in 2008, Ferguson, who doesn't like Real Madrid very much—I don't know why, but he has an obsession with Real Madrid—he said, 'OK. You're leaving, but you go to Barcelona.'
"And Ronaldo said 'No'. He said: 'You don't understand. I gave my word to President Calderon. I'm going to go to Real Madrid.' Of course Barcelona wasn't very happy about that. I'm not sure about the money, but I think they offered him a bit more. Ronaldo said, 'No. My idea is to go to Real Madrid.'
"He was clear. He was very determined. That has to be said in his favour—that he kept his word even though he could have said, 'OK. I'm going to Barcelona, where I'll get more money.' He didn't. It's something very good about his personality." https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2748827-milan-manchester-barcelona-how-kaka-won-the-2007-ballon-dor-ahead-of-ronaldo-Lord |

LandlordHopeful: Rubbish! As expected from someone who can't give the president any credit you go on and claim he's been thinning the squad since 2014
How is squad that was being "Thinned" since 2014 have arguably its greatest depth ever just 2 seasons ago (2016/17)?
We won Laliga with second team being very great that season and even fielding substitutes in many games that season. I remember us playing with Danilo, Varane/pepe, Nacho, Coentrao, Kovačić, James, Asensio, Lucas, Isco Morata even Kiko Casilla was also used here and there this depth in 2016/17 season was hugely responsible for our winning Laliga and UCL (something we've NEVER done before) that season as it kept the starters fresh for the business end of the season but here you are claiming he's been thinning squad since 2014 and another ignorant person quickly liked and shared your post without even bothering to check how valid the assumption upon which you made your question
Why has the squad thinned since 2017 (not the 2014 you're yapping about)? does an answer so obvious need to be said at all? a lot of these subs felt they deserve being first choice and felt they would start elsewhere. James felt he would start in most top clubs and Perez let him leave on loan with a potential sale. Danilo needs no explanation. Coentrao is simply not fit enough to be kept. Morata felt like James and left for Chelsea. Pepe wanted a 2 year contract while getting fragile with age not on his side coupled with Varane stealing his place so he left to turkey. Kovačić wanted a starting spot and he can't with Kroos Modrić still there so he allowed him go on loan to Chelsea. Was he supposed to keep unhappy players? what message would that send to the other players and potential clients?
these are easy to explain decisions and its perplexing having to explain it to you of all people I wonder why you find it so effortless to type trash. James was our last WC buy. You talk about the 2016/2017 season and conveniently forgot our sh*t 2015 season or our sh*t 2017/2018 domestic season. That same amazing Real Madrid B couldn't win the CdR. That depth you talk about could easily have gone either way. Because Kiko Casilla is sh*t. Llorente, Mayoral, Hakim, Hernadez, Mariano in his first stint, even Ceballos last season et al were not up to typical RM quality. Since 2015, we've been saying we'd buy a galactico, we'd rejuvenate the squad. Every summer since then we've failed to do so. I'm sure Pepe too wanted game time elsewhere? Kovacic couldn't possibly be persuaded to stay when we'd sell Modric sometime in the next 2-3 years, no? And if you're going to sell them, you couldn't possibly get credible replacements, because Mariano is so close to CR7's level right? Vallejo is close to Pepe's level? Even Lope that has been sacked asked for Kovacic to be replaced, did your MCM President listen? I'm not even going to do this with you today. Literally got way better ways to waste my time if that's what I want to do. -Lord |

He's had his mistakes and made some head scratching decisions over the years just like every club president I could think of but I can't stand fans talking as though all the successes we've had recently are in spite of his trying his hardest to sabotage the club The successes are precisely in spite of Perez "trying his hardest to sabotage the club." That specific 4-0 mauling by Barca which Ronaldo played in under Benitez, was because Benitez was pandering to the whims of Perez. Zidane was brought in as an interim coach from Castilla like what's being done to Solari now, because no one wanted the job. Zidane put his foot down and told Perez to suck it on most sporting decisions, including when the old f*rt wanted to sell Navas, yet couldn't get a fax working to land DDG. Zidane left because Perez wouldn't buy into the vision of a B2B2B UCL coach. Sold Ronaldo. And bought a French league lookalike. LandlordHopeful: I've been called out a lot on this thread and I've skimmed a couple of posts here and there but I need to address some ridiculous bullsheet making the rounds that I can still recollect since I got ba nned for 2 months for calling a rape apologist a fo.ol that he is
Someone said "Some think without Flo We'd be nowhere" like its a ridiculous statement. This can only be uttered by someone ignorant of what Perez has done for the club or is severely downplaying what he did. Perez saved Real Madrid from financial ruin in the early 2000s when he took over from Lorenzo Sanz. Ramon Mendoza had plunged the club into a state of financial Hemorrhage. we were around €300M in debt and was heading for a foreseeable disaster (think Leeds or Betis) Perez made a lot of financially smart decisions which enabled the club finances not only get out of the red but became the richest club in the world. without Perez saving us we wouldn't have afforded Ronaldo's £80M transfer and his massive wages around a decade later. Without Perez Real Madrid would just be a club Ronaldo likes but can't play for. without Perez most of these "Ronaldo fans" pretending to be Madrid fans won't be on this thread and this thread would probably not even exist.
Of course, just like every human, he's not without his faults. He focused too much on the numbers to the detriment of happenings on the pitch which eventually led to his resignation. He came back years later and now has a more balanced view of things.
I also see a lot of people using these bad results we've had to bring up Ronaldo. let's not forget we've lost a lot of easy matches with Ronaldo too. we've lost 5-0 in that stadium with Ronaldo playing full time. we've lost 4-0 at home to that same Messi less team and Ronaldo playing full time. we lost 3-0 at home last season to this team with Ronaldo playing full time. Now that we lost 5-1 away in a game that could've gone differently had Modrić shot or Benzema header went in it's time to being up Ronaldo
How much was Ronaldo contributing at this stage last season in the league? he scored a meagre 2 goals till January while taking the most shots out of all players in Europe. Kept missing sitters upon sitters. By the time he got back his mojo we were too far behind to mount a title challenge. Yet this thread at that point last season was filled with Ronaldo fans blaming everyone from Perez to almost all other 24 players to Zidane while Ronaldo was given all kinds of excuses for. Now that things aren't going well without Ronaldo its time for them to talk as though this were impossible if he were here. what ridiculous nonsense
Perez and the board still have my full support, he's earned it. Ronaldo can go sheet in the woods for all I care
Oh! Ronaldo said Perez is the reason he left Madrid? even if its true he said that have you guys heard Perez's side of the story? No you haven't but you heard Ronaldo's side and ran away with it like Ronaldo were such a saint "poor Ronaldo having to deal with Bad villain Perez for 9 years, a Perez that is bent on destroying the club. hopefulLandlord, hand me the tissue please" *snorts* with water flowing out of eyes.
Someone said I should apologise to fellow fans here, apologise for what exactly? how were we doing this time last season? what did we play against Barcelona last season in the first clasico at home with Ronaldo? apologise for telling people things won't be as bad as they're predicting?
We are real Madrid, we will recover and Perez would be the one to lead us out. Ronaldo should concentrate on his Rubentus career and stop taking jibes at people who are too mature to stoop to level of replying him through same medium. He did a lot of good work here, we do appreciate it and so do those he's taking swipes at but they've moved on and he should too even if he feels hurt. A long, fairly worthless diatribe. And you can't even take a paragraph to explain why Perez has been thinning the squad since 2014. It'd be 5 years next summer. Zidane left because of Perez. Ronaldo left because of Perez. Allegri, Pochettino, Sarri, Loew rejected the job; in fact no self respecting WC coach will take the Real Madrid job at the moment because of Perez. This second stint is like Perez first's coming. He hasn't learned a thing. Start decently, then devolve into a hot sporting mess. He doesn't even seem to realize we need increased depth. He'd get kicked out eventually, and if you like you can pack your bags with him when that happens. No person is bigger than the club. That's what you fans of his like to say. -Lord |

monerozi5590: I don't think Perez was pushed out. Perez resigned according to what i read.Well that is a story for another day.
Perez has never loved CR7 despite the fact that he was the one that brought him to our club. I remember 2012 when CR7 said "i am sad " he won't talk to journalist or celebrate his goals. Perez and the club didn't protect CR7 very well both financially and otherwise.
Perez is at fault here. I am with CR7 on this one. All what he is asking for is love and not only the money. I felt like crying when i read what CR7 said that made him leave RM.
Perez has ego problem. That was how he sold Makelele and it took us years to recover from that sale. Perez was pushed out, that's why he resigned. Perez didn't buy Ronaldo. And I think had Perez been at the helm of affairs in 2008/2009, CR7 wouldn't have agreed to come. Same way Perez didn't like Ronaldinho and didn't sign him. His reason was that Ronaldinho was not marketable. Barca approached Ronaldo. SAF insisted Ronaldo go to Barca. CR7 gave Calderon his word that he'd come to the Bernabeu. Then he told SAF he'd stay an extra year at Man U to placate him, then go to Madrid. Turns out Barca beat Man U at the UCL final that last year, yet he still went to Madrid that wasn't doing well in the UCL. -Lord |

Only a 42.86% win rate. Looks bad, but J Lo is not a terrible coach. He may have his faults (like with subs), but which coach doesn't? We always leak goals. But typically we scored more. Take away the GOAT, put Benz as the target man, and have a second-rate option as the only alternative, and that's the stat you'd have. It's literally science. European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by LordAdamX: 10:13pm On Oct 28, 2018 |
pkasso: I was actually referring to my personal experience with Real Madrid fans.
Most of them are mature enough to acknowledge Messi's greatness even while praising Ororo. You could learn a thing or two from them.
But the average Barca fan is always hating on Ronaldo. They say he only scores tap ins and pks. They say he is selfish and an arrogant prick. Some even go as far as questioning his importance. I remember one of your people here even suggesting that Marcelo, and not CR7 was Madrid's best player. Well, we can all see that is happening now. You get time jare. The same Barca we raped in the Supercup. Same Barca that needed robbery and Ronaldo substituted to draw with Messi on the pitch in the league return leg last season. It's only a shame that when Madrid gets their chance to humiliate the c*nts, the players don't go for the kill. But I no dey worry, all their gra gra go end for UCL QF as usual. Local noisemakers! Ronaldo is waiting for them at Turin! If them get liver. Another 180 minutes without scoring awaits them. See them trying to form civility because Ronaldo is no longer at Madrid. I'm sure all the people making up tapinaldo, penaldo, analdo, rapaldo, et al are Lebron fans. You hate him, you hate him. Don't pretend. In the end, he doesn't give a f*ck. His fans don't give a sh*t. So they can stick up your fake posturing somewhere there's no sunlight. CR7 does not, has never, and will never need their respect. -Lord |
