Eyedea:Let's focus on the UCL without the UCL highest goalscorer of the last 7+ years. Without the coach that was part of the coaching team for each of our last 4 UCL trophies. Without knowing who our next coach will be. And with a Benzema, Bale, Asensio front 3 (Mariano and LV are our substitutes). The delusion is real. At this point, they simply can't help it. -Lord |
Neimar:I pray to the heavens Juve is paired up with Barca in the QFs. Hopefully you guys can clone Messi, so you guys have at least 3 of him. It is this same set of delirium that led to the Roma humiliation. 2019 would be no different. -Lord |
usbcable:An apology? They should swallow it. Anyone with a working brain knew this was coming. And it wasn't just about Ronaldo or Zidane. Last year with both of them at the club, we struggled. We were fortunate against Juve and Bayern. We relied on black magic to win the UCL--Neymar and Salah's injuries were well timed. However, somehow, some thought letting go of Zidane, Ronaldo, Kovacic after that shitstorm of a season could actually be a good thing because we signed a Porto reject, a second GK, and a wannabe from the French League. You've really got to applaud the level of delusion it takes to have that illogical extent of belief. I'm pretty sure the 100m they got that'd go towards renovating the stadium (without adding a single seat) somehow makes up for going on our longest goal drought in more than 50 years and getting trounced by Barca's worst team of this decade without Messi under a coach that had a fire under his a** less than a month ago. I didn't sign up for this BS. -Lord |
usbcable:The question is what type of coach? Do you see the names being mentioned? We went from Allegri, Pochettino, Sarri, and Guti to Conte and Wenger? All the good coaches told us to stop f**ling around. And even if we get a WC coach, it could go either way. But it's almost certain, it wouldn't be no Zidane turn around. If these players can't give their all to their ex-Nat'l team coach, who would they give their all to. Remember this is close to what played out in the 3-0 defeat last year. Once we didn't take our chances, the defense fell flat like a nymho stripper. And that was under Zidane (a top 5 great and who led them to a B2B and double) and with Ronaldo. Now we've got neither and a bunch of jupiter-sized egos who played in the first half like they were sleep walking. And why wouldn't they? All the veterans have ZERO competition. ZERO depth. ZERO attack. And these are players in their thirties or late 20s who should be in the phasing off stage. Marcelo is our current in-form goalscorer. Marcelo!!! And now he's injured. Yet someone out here would want us to give props to Perez who has systematically shredded this team since 2014. Heck I don't think if you made Xavi the President, he'd do a better job of destroying the club. It is criminal what Perez is doing to this club. Seriously, f*ck that guy. -Lord |
Well Perez can go f*ck himself with a giant d*ldo. F*cking bastard! Now they're going to make a scapegoat of J Lo. Dude goofed. Shoulda given Flo P the middle finger when everyone from Loew to Sarri was doing so. Who'd want to deal with this clusterf*ck of a situation now? -Lord |
peterd53:Dude I have no problem with Messi staying at Barca until he retires. That's his choice. I respect that. But that is not evidence he'd tear teams apart in an EPL club on a rainy night at Stoke. The longer he stays at Barca, the more the opposite holds true. -Lord |
MJBOLT:Yep, like your excuses for your MCM. See it's fine if Messi wants to retire at Barcelona. He has the right to do so if he so wishes. But him scoring while playing in Barcelona against English teams is not proof he'd tear teams apart while playing on an English team on a wet night at Stoke. -Lord |
peterd53:, Ronaldo did not go to Juventus to win the Scudetto. He's gone there to win the UCL! About your question, read my statement again. This time do so carefully. -Lord |
SerVik:Dude he beat those clubs playing for Barcelona. Messi in Barcelona could give a masterclass against Pele's Brazil. He's played all his life there. Go over to an English club with their preposterous long-ball game and he'd have a tough night against Stoke. It's not an exaggeration. It's like saying Messi would tear teams up if he went to Italy. Technically he could as Dybala was Juve's highest goalscorer last year, but who's going to give him the space knowing what he's capable of? Why does Messi choke up in the latter stages of the champions league? No one gives him that space to operate. Giving Messi space to operate is like having a bunch of 5'5'' defenders mark CR7 when crosses are being whipped into the box. You guys pamper Messi like he needs that sh*t. Of the top 5 GOAT contenders, he's the only one fans like to make excuses for. Pele played as a goalkeeper in some matches (seriously go watch the videos) and was prevented from the leaving Brazilian league by the government at his prime. Maradona played for Napoli. CR7 went from a dominant Man U side that had gone to two UCL finals to a RM side that was struggling to make it to the quarters of the UCL, then left after B2B2B to go win the UCL for Juve at 33. Zidane had to come back from retirement at 34 to play in the 2006 World Cup and led France to the final. But Messi gets to play from the age of 13 in one club playing one style of football and that's somehow proof he'd cope well in another system, in another league, with a different playing philosophy. Get the f*ck outta here! That's how he was forming boss against Chelsea last year and his fans in the media were buzzing, then he forgot how to run against Roma and same fans were afraid to pummel him for giving up too easily. -Lord |
tesppidd:I want to take it that you're trolling. No way anyone following football in 2018 thinks this, regardless of who you're a fan of. -Lord |
tesppidd:Why una no follow lose yesterday sef... Portuguese Football Federation president Fernando Gomes has given his "total solidarity" towards Ronaldo as "his good name and reputation are being questioned."No be only Messi 1 win UCL this season. There's only so many matches Ronaldo can play in a calendar year at 33. As it looks like he'd play most league and UCL matches unlike at RM where he was rested regularly for league games. -Lord |
femi4:Then type facts not conjectures you pulled from your behind. Or do you have trouble understanding English? -Lord |
femi4:Stop typing nonsense. It could be your brother or son or father. If it was confirmed as rape then, investigation would not need to be reopened. And the lady never took the case to court until last weekend. And the case in court is not criminal but civil where she's asking for $200k not for Ronaldo to be sent to prison. Inform yourself before spouting false statements, so you don't be a victim of untrue rumors later in life. -Lord |
usbcable:Hmm, https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-45733425 Croatian prosecutors going after Modric. Thankfully, the courts squashed it, but the prosecutors would be appealing apparently. What is happening? -Lord |
BykeLaByke:We will not take it! -Lord |
Olamyyde:Chief. It's because of #MeToo. She and her new attorney said so themselves. In 2016, some ladies accused Nasser (a US gymnast coach) of sexual misconduct. Sh*t died down, nothing happened. January this year after more than 100 ladies came out against him and investigation was concluded he received life imprisonment. Dude, #MeToo is real as f*ck. And if Ronaldo wasn't a football legend (unlike the typical MeToo allegation victims who are disposable), a movement with over 100 million followers, and in another continent, dude would have already lost endorsement deals at least. Save the Children charity which he's the face of just responded to the allegations with something along the line of "It's a disheartening allegation, but he's a nice guy." Juventus, Samsung, EA, Nike who sponsor him wouldn't even respond. The girl is even calling for anyone else with a similar allegation to come forward. Read a story on Yahoo Sports where a feminist was complaining that people aren't vilifying Ronaldo as much as she'd have hoped. And I was like b*tch, a ceasefire in a war had to be declared because Pele was visiting. Maradona is a religion. A Messi fan left a suicide note because Argentina lost a match. You have no idea how badly millions of diehard Cristiano fans want that lady to disappear like a mafia informant who broke the Omerta code. The reason why the story is getting reported in mainstream media is because of #MeToo. It's the very reason why she had the guts to void her settlement and ask for another $200k after 9 years. -Lord |
hardeycute:Dude, he had that moment. You know, like a resurgence. But it was never going to last. You don't shoot blanks for 3 consecutive seasons then all of a sudden become R9 reincarnate. Personally, I don't even want to put Benz through all this. In terms of ability, he's IMO one of the best 3 strikers on the planet. He just doesn't score as often as he should. He has no reason to "drop deep to receive the ball from our midfielders." We have the best midfielders, the best wingbacks, and the best central defender (have you seen Ramos long passes, criminally underrated) in football and often play Isco. We don't need another creator. That's why Cristiano Ronaldo didn't playmake regularly in his later years here. Benzema has to get into scoring positions, stay upfront, and make runs. You don't tell me you've played for 7+ years with the Greatest Player Of All Time and one of the best attackers of his generation (Bale), and you didn't pick up anything on how to be lethal. I'm sick of talking about Benzema because every summer we all collectively agree that it's time for him to go or at least have a WC competition in the striker position. Mariano is not WC but he's what our all-seeing emperor thinks is best. So if Benzema isn't scoring, start Mariano end of. Mandzukic scored only 5 goals all season in Serie A last year. This year he's scored 4, 3 of which were Ronaldo assists, and he regularly shifts to the wing so CR7 can go up top if he wants. -Lord |
Olamyyde:Flo did not buy Ronaldo. Calderon did. And the deal was closed before he traveled to Las Vegas. In fact, his vacation in Las Vegas was to celebrate his move. And the accusations first resurfaced last year before our first B2B UCL final. Ignorance is bliss. -Lord |
BykeLaByke:Dude, I'm not comparing accusations. Him partying the girl does not mean he raped her. If it's that easy, think about all the ladies you've danced with who could claim you raped them, and how anyone could easily call you a rapist because of that. Rape is a serious crime, it carries life in Las Vegas. Don't trivialize or make light of it. Two ladies accused him when he was still in the UK, he was arrested by Scotland Yard, then charges were dropped for lack of evidence. 14 years later he is in the same sentence as Pele and Maradona. Robin Van Persie was accused and stayed in jail for 2 weeks in the Netherlands while investigation was on, he was acquitted. He later went on score that amazing goal in the 2010 World Cup. I know we're now living in a world where only few people care about due process anymore, and you don't like Ronaldo; but know where to draw the line. If some reporter put out a story that Messi abused his kids or someone died because of a DUI drive that was his fault, I would at least wait for an official conclusion of investigation before going all honcho. Leave the tabloid stuff for the tabloids. They're trying to make paper. A Swedish creative luminary (director) was falsely accused of sexual misconduct by several people last year. Papers carried it, he lost his job, reputation was tarnished. Earlier this year he committed suicide while on an outing with his wife who stood by him. A few weeks later, pending investigation proved all the allegations were false. One actress accused him of asking her to get an abortion before he'd cast her, it was later found that his comment was that it was unfortunate she was heavily pregnant and could not be cast in the role. His accusers were later criticized as murderers and the Swedish #MeToo movement is currently on a hiatus. And are you really trying to say no paper outside of Catalonia carried Ronaldo's tax evasion story while he was in Spain? Are you kidding me right now? -Lord |
Netfilix:Maybe it's best if we keep this in the CR7 thread. He may have made the settlement as a Madrid player, but he's not our problem anymore. Still a huge fan of the guy, he's the G.O.A.T regardless of outcome, but I think we're dealing with enough sh*t in RM right now to want to add some psychotic allegation started, championed, and sustained by individuals with an axe to grind and are looking for a pay day about a legend who doesn't wear the all white anymore. -Lord |
BykeLaByke:Has nothing to do with Perez. It's getting this much press because it's the #MeToo era. Like the confirmation of a Supreme court justice is being held up because of an alleged assault that occurred 30+ years ago. Plus if he was still at Madrid, he'd be getting much more hate, and we know Spanish football politics is off the rails. It was a Spanish source that leaked the settlement on Total Football Leaks which led to Der Spiegel running the story. The source even leaked his text messages with his lawyer. Like who goes to that length to unearth a controversy and for what purpose. -Lord |
BykeLaByke:Yo, like it's weird. Like Madridistas and Cules are holding hands and sh*t, hoping this nightmare ends soon for the sake of everyone involved. I know some cules be looking at tonight's feature and be getting anxious in light of yesterday's result and our Siamese arrangement of the previous two weeks. It's a total mindf*ck. That said, whatever the men in suits have been smoking needs to be banned, because this is how Italian dominance started to fade, like some cruel joke. It'd end soon tho', one team will start doing well and if the other doesn't, the pressure would be too much to handle and there'll be a shakeup. -Lord |
usbcable:The question is who are the players that'd step up accuracy? Just Bale. I'm not expecting Benzema to score every other match. Asensio is no Messi, Hazard, or Salah. I love LV but he's a provider not a main man. Unfortunately, Bale is going through a rough patch now, he missed sitters in Sevilla and ATH matches. That shouldn't have been a big deal if we had a striker that is potent in front of goal and actually stays in the box instead of picking balls at the half way line. After all, Ronaldo and Messi miss sitters. Mariano needs to start, no excuses. If things still don't change, well that's all we got, cos that's all Flo P thought would be enough. If I had to choose between J Lo and Flo P, I'd choose J Lo every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Flo P is turning into a disaster. This is the first time since 2007 we've gone 3 consecutive games without scoring. And it's not like we're in a crisis... yet. -Lord |
Apparently some fellas here are far more concerned about Ronaldo's allegations, who I must point out isn't even our player, than the fact we haven't scored in 3 games. Juventinis are having fun even with Ronaldo out for one game and a rape case hanging and Dybala steps up, but no we've got to revolve around a non-issue that doesn't even concern the club because deflection is a virtue to strive for. I'm waiting for the hypocrite Flo P to ask his boys in Marca to start floating the J Lo sack story. They're already on Twitter apparently. You ask Benzema to lead an attack and you were expecting 3 goals. Shebi if I mock you on that count like you did Mire.moses in the past, it'd be fair game? -Lord |
foladj:Na @Netfilix I dey pity. You want to roll in the mud with a p*g! Kontinu... If the guy type finish, nobody reply am, e go excuse himself. -Lord |
Miremoses1:Seriously I can't say. But we shouldn't be contemplating a draw against CSKA. We should be taking maximum points from this group. The real koko is the knockout stage. BTW, the good news is that Bale doesn't have an injury according to the MRI. Should be available for next weekend. Phew!!! -Lord |
Teemelanin:She wants another 200k. The worse part is that she filed a civil lawsuit not a criminal case. Anyway sha, let her hustle. -Lord |
Miremoses1:It's a mistake. Players make poor decisions from time to time. He made a similar but harder pass to Bale in the Sevilla match. -Lord |
madrid5:Ronaldo is worth what $400m. And makes what $50m+/yr with ultra low taxes in Italy. He's in Europe, is a national treasure, and at the end of his career. He has $500/hr lawyers on his payroll. The point is that he's the very definition of untouchable and the babe waited too long to have a go at him. In 2009 he was about to go to Madrid, she shoulda gone after him then, she'd have had more luck. Story has been out for 2 days. Juventus hasn't responded, FIFA hasn't. UEFA hasn't. He called it fake news on Instagram. Went on the pitch had 3 assists. Hasn't lost a single social media follower in net. No brand that endorses him has come out to make a statement; and he has at least 31 endorsements. You know how long 48 hours is in public relations? You're going after a celebrity, you want your negative publicity to hit him hard in the first few days; that hasn't happened to Ronaldo. The mere rumor should be shaking tables. Cristiano Ronaldo news results are all over the place. There's the rape news, there's FIFA boss being angry at him and Messi for the award snub, there's the Napoli performance. The rape news isn't even dominating conversation. The accuser and her lawyers have refused to grant any interviews or make additional comments. It's all in the court. How long do you think CNN and co would run that for, before they go nothing to see here; there's POTUS, Kavanaugh, Midterms and more that should get more air time. The latest leaks have been out there since two days ago. Go on our front page even, the rape news has been shared and forgotten. Personally, I sympathize with the lady. I don't think Ronaldo is a saint, but she just let herself get played by her legal advisers. Dude isn't even a US resident. Police investigation will take weeks at least. Whatever her motivation for coming out now, the train has left the station. -Lord |
Miremoses1:He wouldn't sue. His team threatened last year and didn't go through with it. Personally, I don't see how this ends well for the lady in question. The worst that can happen to Ronaldo is that he's banned from entering the US and he loses a few endorsement deals; both of which are a long shot at the moment. Her on the other hand would be opening herself up to death threats, cyber-bullying, second-guessing in every other country that isn't the US. You just filed claims with the police about a rape case that occurred in 2009 in August 2018. I hope things work out well for her, cos from where I sit she's just being exploited by her attorney who's hoping on the #metoo movement to cash out big and increase his profile. The fact she has to file a lawsuit to get the attention shows this ain't no Bill Cosby sh*t. And she had to let her name get out? Like why would you do that? The allegation has been flying around since 2014; since then he's been knighted, won more awards than anyone else, won 3 UCLs, signed a $1b endorsement deal with Nike, and changed at least 3 gfs. I'd be surprised if anyone is still talking about this by next month. -Lord |
madrid5:Toast ko, waffles ni! It's an annual ritual for Spiegel. First in 2014. Then in 2016, they brought it up again. Last year they brought it up again. Now they're coming out of the woodworks. The lady in question has gone into hiding after giving the go to use her name. She'd been anon for the last 9 years. That's how two babes came up with rape allegations in 2005 in the UK and the charges were later dropped. Like what, she thinks he plays in the US or Canada? No one is even reporting about it in Italy. Nike hardly ever drops their biggest names, Fly Emirates don't give a sh*t. It's a shake down. B*tch took 375k 10 years ago, signed an NDA; now wants more money. Unfortunately for her, voiding said agreement would mean her paying back the initial hush money and she sure as hell doesn't want to deal with blow back either. #Metoo is void in Europe and Italy is one of the most conservative European nations out there. I wouldn't knock on her hustle, but those who think this would remotely affect CR7 need a reality check. The world is bigger than California. -Lord |
