Asylum doesn’t work that way. To get a chance at asylum, she needs to prove that her life will be in danger if she returns. This is a clear criminal case and the UK will deport her gladly. She only risks imprisonment for her crimes of desertion and na even the UK style of military we dey use so they’ll deport her to send a message. If na by like that, every Nigerian soldier for don japa.
It's a clear case of breach of contract and she has proved to be untrustworthy and unreliable even for a military officer. She's the guilty one here. I doubt if she would be looked at in good light by the any agency when they go through her case history. An offender can't claim her life is at risk cos the authority wants to make a legitimate case with her.

It's not a bad idea.

Afterall the same tactic was used by the igbos in all the markets where they are dominant and nobody complained. So, it's not bad if the state that created an agency for the purpose of employment for youths of the state opens it's eye while an opposition used them against it.

Subsequently, they would vet well before giving out such jobs.

Pumping machines especially the submersible type are buried underground.
If it spoils, it's the responsibility of the landlord to fix it.
If he doesn't, anytime the tenants are going, they reserve the right to remove it and leave his faulty one for him.
Any landlord wey wan show himself, his eyes will clear when the tenant is packing out.

I once had a landlord who showed himself and I cleared his eyes grin grin
This your argument is faulty in the sense that the tenants can't all pack out of the premise at the same time.

And again, sometimes if you wait for the landlord to come the inconveniences you may suffer undergo and the cost of providing water to meet your daily need surpasasses the cost of repairs.

If you love your family and comfort, simply fix the machine or get a replacement. You can negotiate with the landlord if he's the reasonable type otherwise just move on with your life .

Some apartments have this tie in to the cost of renting the facilities but they're not usually cheap.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba In Badagry Are From Ile-ife, Not Ghana – High Chief Wawu by lordmans(m): 9:45pm On Jan 13, 2023
FreeStuffsNG:
About Badagry, the indigenous people of Lagos

The coastal town of Badagry, traditionally known as Gbagle, is situated between the city of Lagos, and the border with Benin Republic at Seme. It was cut out of Nigeria in 1863 and eventually added to the state of Lagos as part of Nigeria by the United Kingdom in 1901.

Being the second largest town in Lagos State, Badagry is surrounded by lakes, creeks and island, which makes beaches and resorts one of the major attractions of the ancient town.

1. Badagry is a monarchy headed by the Wheno Aholuship, a kingship head by the Akran of Badagry and his seven white cap high chiefs. The white cap chiefs administer the eight quarters which Badagry is divided into. These divisions are Ahovikoh, Boekoh, Jegba, Posukoh, Awhanjigo, Asago, Whalako and Ganho.

2. The title of Badagry’s royal father is Oba Akran, a kingship so influential that one of longest commercial avenues (a 2.14kilometere stretch) in Ikeja, Oba Akran Avenue, was named after it.

3. Badagry locals, comprising of the Aworis, Egun, Yoruba and Ogu people, are known for their hospitable disposition and their famous snack, Ajogun, made from cassava, best enjoyed with coconut water sucked from a straw plunged deep into the coconut.

4. Because of its proximity to the ocean, Badagry became the key port for export of African slaves to the Americas. Till date, there is a small museum in the building of the first Christian mission that showcases the manacles and other relics of the hugely lucrative and barbaric trade in humans.

5. Founded in the 15th century, Badagry was said to have been named from a dual corruption of Agbedegreme (which means Agbedeh’s farm in “Ogu” language) to Agbedagari and Agbedagari to Badagry by Yoruba settlers and European slave traders respectively. It is believed that Agbedeh was the famous farmer who founded the town.

6. Badagry served as the auction point for slaves captured during the inter-village warfare. Well, let's know more about this ancient tribe. Although the people belong to the Yoruba tribe of Southwest Nigeria, they speak a distinct language from the main Yoruba spoken in its land.

7. Notable Badagry indigenes

Oba C. Dosa. Akran
Late Oba Claudius Dosa Akran was a Nigerian politician and traditional title holder who represented Badagry in parliament in 1951 and held the title of Aholu Jiwa II of Jegba.

Oba G. Babatunde Akran, current Aholu Menu-Toyi

Seriki Williams Abass

T. Ola Avoseh

These are the kind of things that tears us apart rather than unite us. Most of the times we complain about the religious practices of those appointed to serve as administrators as if the work is meant to be a religious one. Especially, in Yoruba land, merit should be the sole criteria for choosing people to office. Many people today are not christians or muslims. So all these religious bodies should be banned.

PoliticsRe: Ban: Okada Rider, Passenger To Be Arrested, Prosecuted, Says Lagos Police by lordmans(m): 11:46am On May 22, 2022
The real truth could be either ways: the guy may have been a yahoo guy or he was innocent. But when one is so used to mobbing people whenever there's dispute without seeking mutual ways of settling issues between agrieved parties, it's definitely a recipe for destruction. The excesses of the okada riders and especially the recklessness of the northerners among them put them up for this.

It's also important to note, this mob action isn't peculiar to bike riders and the hausas as you may have observed in marketplaces dominated by one group like Ladipo and Alaba international markets. Traders deliberately sell bad and inferior products to consumers and hide under the blanket of the cover of the presence of concentration of people of their ethnic origin in that market. These markets are so notorious for this. Everyone should conduct themselves in a way to foster friendliness and good neighbor relationship among us as a people.

CrimeRe: Blasphemy: What Is The Position Of The Law? by lordmans(m): 10:40am On May 15, 2022
litigator:
In February 2006, Florence Chukwu, an English teacher in Bauchi State seized the Koran of one of her students that was reading the Koran while the English class was in progress in order to ensure that the student concentrate during class. For this professional conduct, a Muslim Mob was incited against her. During the riot that ensued, Florence Chukwu was murdered as well as 20 other Christians.

On 21st of March, 2007, a Muslim mob murdered one Mrs Christiana Oluwatoyin, a female teacher in Government Secondary School, Gombe. HER CRIME? She touched a bag allegedly containing a Koran, eventhough, she did not know that the bag contained a Koran. However, even without asking her, she was declared by the Muslim mob to have desecrated the Koran. Hence, Mrs Christiana Olwatoyin was murdered in cold blood.

In July 2016, the wife of a Deeper Life pastor told a Muslim man praying right at the front of her shop to move away as he was obstructing her customers. It should be noted that the the pastor's wife had repeatedly told the said Muslim man not to pray at the the front of HER SHOP. However, for some strange reason, he persisted. On this particular day, the lady insisted that he should leave and for this, he accused her of blasphemy, incited a mob against her and murdered her.

There are countless instances where these senseless riots and violence had been incited in Northern Nigeria. Shall I reference the religious riots and killings that took place in the North Nigeria, simply because a white man in one of the Scandinavian countries drew a cartoon of the prophet or shall I talk about the religious riots and the death of more than 200 of fellow Nigerans because of an article written in This Day News Paper when Silver Bird wanted to host Miss World Beauty Pegeant in Abuja.

Eventhough, I strongly condemn derogatory statements and jokes against the prophet as every reasonable person should, may I note that the responses of my Muslim countrymen engaged in this barbaric riots and murders be condemned and opposed especially, when compared with the responses of their Christian countrymen.

For example, on 27th February, 2013, Nasir El-Rufai stated via Twitter thus: "If Jesus criticizes Jonathan's govt, Maku/ Abati/ Okupe will say he (Jesus) slept with Mary Madgalene" yet Christians kept the peace.

During Easter of 2021, the CEO of Serling Bank named Abubakar Suleiman compared Jesus Christ to our local Agege Bread thus: "AGEGE BREAD, HE ROSE". The Christians' response to his comparison was captured in the Punch News Paper thus: "AGREE BREAD ADVERT: YOUR SINS FORGIVEN, CAN TELLS STERLING BANK".

This write-up is for two purposes, firstly, to beseech my Muslim colleagues on this platform, especially those from the North to speak up and condemn these barbaric, inhuman and unlawful killings and riots. Especially, in your religious forums where such are taught and encouraged. For I strongly believe that if these killings are to be stopped, enlightened minds such as you are, must be at the fore front of the discuss. Your Muslim brothers would rather listen to you on this matter than listen to a Christian. We all owe the duty of peace, law and order to our beloved nation Nigeria. Atiku Abubakar (Former VP) condemned the killing via Twitter and facebook, but immediately some youth in Sokoto State declared that they will not vote for him for castigating their action, he deleted the post both on twitter and facebook unless you choose to believe his weak excuse. It should not be said that we turned our back to critical issues such as this for personal gains or politics.

Secondly, if the report that the riotting youth of Sokoto were able to breach the perimeters of the Sultan's palace, who condemned their action and as a result, the Sultan had to flee his palace in the company of security escort because of the violent youth.

I am of the opinion that a sitting Governor or a President maybe chased out of his state by these religious mobs if we do not nip these barbaric actions in the board.

How did we become such a lawless nation?

But then, are Islamic injunctions superior to the provisions of the constitution?

Far from it.

The court has overtime sentenced those court in the acts of death. A very learnt Islamic scholar, now the CJN, had this to say in a decided case.

Credit: C. Uzogara
The problem with these Muslims in the North is mostly due to ignorance, and our christian citizens too need not put themselves in unnecessary risk by staying in the midst of these people who placed lesser values on human lives talkless of provoking them to react.

As for the death of the girl, all relevant agencies should rise up to ensure that her family is adequately compensated and shop owners should get some reliefs as well.

All those who did are not true Muslims. They did the condemnation as a result of common human conscience and the pressure mounted on them by the Christian society passively expecting such from them. It's not because their faith condemns it.

If I dey read all these threats,I go dey laff!!!

I wonder who una think say plenty pass after the indigenous people for Lagos street, yoruba street, owoseni and environs for Benin city.

Don't start with what will consume your entire generation in a blink. Oh, least I forget na one Benin man be Oba of Lagos.
I laughed too.
You threw the first stone anyway.
And if truly you're Edo or Bini it's least expected of you.

The story of Oba of Lagos being Bini ancestry is a fallacy spread by some confused people. I'm an Islander and a descendant of an Idejo family. Let me correct that wrong assumptions you held.

No doubt Lagos Island not the entire Lagos came under Bini suzerainty like most areas then when the mighty lord it over weaker communities. Benin kingdom was an empire and not every towns and villages under their suzerain were Bini.

The people of Lagos Island had always been Yorubas before coming under the Bini suzerainty. And the last Oba with direct blood link to the Bini lineage was Oba Akinsemoyin or Eletu Kekere who died childless. His successor Oba Ologunkutere in 1780 was of pure Yoruba ancestry, and his children are the kings till today. Even Oba Akiolu is a direct descendant of that lineage. He's a Yoruba Yoruba (one of the two words is adjective, means he's truly Yoruba as we have Yorubas of different ancestries)

To buttress my point I would only point you to information available in the public domain:

Ologun Kutere was the product of the marriage between Erelu Kuti, daughter of Oba Ado, and Alaagba (short form of ' Alagbigba'), an Ijesha traditional adviser to Oba Akinsemoyin.[2] He was the first successor to the throne through a matrilineal line.[1]...

All Obas of Lagos since Ologun Kutere have been direct descendants of Ologun Kutere. None of the descendants of his mother's siblings has become Oba of Lagos since Kutere's death; neither Oba Gabaro, whose only child Oba Eletu Kekere died without issue before Ologun Kutere's ascension, nor Oba Akinsemoyin who had children, albeit very young at the time of his death. This "apparent irregularity"[7] is now the subject of controversy and litigation as Akinsemoyin's descendants are challenging the enthronement of the current Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, in court.[8]

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ologun_Kutere

And mind you the Yorubas will not go into any senseless wars nor verbal attack on the people of Benin as there exist a strong bond between the two. After the death of Awolowo the leadership of the group was held by Anthony Enahoro and Alfred Rewane. Adekunle Ajasin took the lead after Abacha killed Rewane. The Yorubas are at peace with your people and share blood links with you.

Lemme hint you, you can only be guilty of impersonation when you try or attemp to portray yourself as what you are not.

Posing on a seat that is not your designated seat is simply indiscipline especially if the seat is for your superior.
According to your definition, by sitting on the seat of a colonel in his official office and taking a picture of himself doing so, the chap already attempted to or portrayed himself as that person. And in the military even an attempt to commit a crime carries same penalty as having committed that offence.

What do you think his intentions might be taking a snapshot of himself in that office? He definitely had shared it somewhere for someone to see it. It's unfortunate he was a private soldier with nothing to remove as rank hence he was dismissed.
