badaru911:You're correct. That's their greatest flaw. Lack of strategic planning and tactics. Over reliance on jazz will blind a man to reason and logic. Is it not foolish and stupid to be attacking police stations every now and then. The cops are wiser. They set a trap and they took the bait. In no time soon the security agents will break the spirit of the fighting arm of their struggle. The next way to go is to return to the part of dialogue. All the south must be lobbied to present a strong focal point like they did in asaba to seek regional autonomy. |
Calculating:And the son may end up dead too like his father. The wise thing is to deescalate the tension in the SW. Attacks on security agencies will bring more counter attacks and deaths more innocent ones who will have otherwise be more useful to the people of SE now or in the future. In a situation like this everyone is a suspect. Enough of the killings. Too many deaths. Let peace prevail. |
overdrive:No, but getting pregnant before completing three years in the service is a punishable offence if discovered. |
Many folks are here supporting the impunity and apartheid-styled governance system of the Israeli government but were quick to condemn the Nigerian State for lesser evil. One thing the Palestinians have achieved like never before, even if the casualties was high on their sides was turning the heat on Israel and it's major backer the US, who supplied most of the funds and weapons to Israel. Some countries like Ireland in Europe expressed their outbursts in the face of the ongoing madness by one man to save his political career. Senators in the UK and US raised their voices to check the impunity of Israel in Gaza. There will be no need for a group like Hamas if the Palestinians were given their own sovereign country but not to exist as a mere geographic expression that any Israeli person could invade, harass or killed on flimsy excuse wether imaginary or real. The history of terrorism in Arabia is not the same as that of Nigeria. Theirs was borne out of their desire to rid their domains of western imperial colonization and neocolonialism. And along the line some mad elements may have hijacked the cause due to infiltration from the western intelligence. Are the people of southeast, southwest and southsouth Nigeria not feeling the same disenchantment with the fulani supposed claim of born to rule mentality? Why is the case of the Palestinians different? Cos they're subhumans? Every Palestinian kid knew that eventually he will fall by an Israeli bullet somehow but would it not be better to make a statement with it. It's important for all to know that every party have the right to defend themselves. You can imagine what the situation would be like if the Palestinians too have access to such weaponry as US supplied Israel. Some years back they don't have long range missiles. Western countries created many evils that later turned to alqaeda, Hezbollah, ISIS, iswap etc which later turn around hurting their interest and other innocent people in the world. The world needs Peace, not all these isms that have brought us no good but disaster. Let the Hindus, Chinese, Muslims etc rule their domains as deem fit as long as they don't affect other nations. American system of democracy isn't the same template with the French, British, Italian, Russian, Scandinavian etc. Everyone developed a system based on their culture, values and moral codes. |
Obamaofusa:Amin |
Obamaofusa:One was chased out around 1936 or thereabout. He sought refuge in kaduna. The British returned him with police guard. That was how the first police station got to Ilorin. You can see in Ilorin it was just like a theater troupe. Fulani never conquer Ilorin, it was the intrigues of the growing Yoruba Muslim elites attempts to upstage the pagan ruler. And Abdsalam the first emir had a Yoruba mother from one of the ruling family. |
LordLugard1:Amir or emir is a religious leader in Islam, who hijacked political authority. Such old structure will go out of fashion soon. Some people are working tooth and nails to make it relevance, hence the insecurity everywhere |
rummmy:You can see the man is living on a borrow time. From the scanty attendance you should know something is wrong. It's a matter of time... |
gidgiddy:The most important thing here is the threat. And the threat you're referring to is an irredentist group who have resorted to violence. Even the FBI could do such in a covert operation. Forget the police. That wasn't the regular police ways of operation. That might possibly be a sting operation of a special force. They're there to neutralize the threats. Wether they acted within the ambit of acceptable operation procedure is for the relevant organs of government saddled with that responsibility to interpret. May God keep us all safe |
Iyiataata92:Don't be so quick to pin on the police. Remember when Ikonso was neutralize, some stuffs were recovered. It was purely a covert operations. When the security agents are willing and ready to do their things they're good at it. That operation became known because of the location. Do you know how many of such are ongoing as we speak? Remember, this every police man, no matter how bad you see him has his friends. So you can't be killing them for whatever reason and not expect backlash. This UGM are not ghosts either. And the operation may not even be a police thing. Expect more hits. |
gidgiddy:Let's say ur assumptions was correct. How do you the describe the US methods of neutralizing Osama, Suleimani, and the recent Israeli onslaught on the people who protested police brutality during worship? |
igboboy775:I'm sure that poster isn't yoruba or a Lagosians. He's just trying to draw you guys on each other throats and he succeeded. The Hausa communities down south sometimes got away with their attrocities cos if the backing of the security agencies, which was evident at the Lasu carnage but between the other southern tribes it's a free for all fight. And that's why they're afraid of any restructuring that will put the control of the security apparatus of any region or state in the hands of it's people. The northerners on the other hand were not attacking the agbero which would have been a fair fight or good riddance to bad rubbish but easy target of unarmed people returning from work. You think the agbero won't retaliate on them if not for the soldiers and police seen with them as captured in some videos circulating online. The same thing happened in shasha before the community rose up to retaliate. Coming to the UGM attacks on Lagos or any part of Yorubaland. If any of such attacks is fingered to be carried out by anyone of ibo extractions, I tell you the repercussions will be part cos unlike the hausas, Ibos are more vulnerable here cos they have significant and massive investment that could be used to get back at them. We should all be careful to prevent any such thing by ipob/esn or anyone on Yorubaland and identify and deal with such people immediately cos it may be a tactic by the enemy to pitch us together. It's dangerous for the two tribes to have real fights outside this stupid stuffs they do online. May God make the true sons and daughters of Yorubaland and Ibo see reason to stop their stupidities, foolishness and idiosyncrasies that made them with superior intellectual capabilities eating crumbs in Nigeria. |
At this era of insecurity in the SE it is advisable to be careful when approaching any checkpoint, wind down your glasses especially if tainted, don't display any insignia representing ipob, be calm, don't start unnecessary argument with them, respond to their questions with courtesy however how stupid you think of them. Make complaint later to relevant authorities. The dead don't talk |
chukwuibuipob:When they do some of their cohorts will hit the social media and nairaland claiming infringement of rights bla bla... And everyone will go gaga, leading to inconveniences for other innocent people or possibly bloodshed |
ivolt:That's one thing with reliance on jazz, you lack tact and strategy. Those men walk into their deaths on assumptions of invincibility, forgetting that when you're on a level play with trained soldiers the latter will prevail, once the elements of surprise as in a case of ambush. BH carried out most of their attacks with a large number of foreign religious fighters who care less about their lives either under the influence of religious bigotry or substance effect, and some of them are trained soldiers coupled with fifth columnists within the national troops. |
Jesuschristus:Shekau isn't acting alone, he has the backing of the deadliest terror group in the world, that can only be equalled in intelligence and strategy by the likes of cia, mossad and british counter terror units. The situation isn't helped either by the lopsided appointments of the president resulting in over concentration of the powers that control the security architecture of the country in one section who maybe complicity in the misadventures of the group. But ipob operated in the blind compared to BH who have large resources within the polity's security interface. It's a matter of time before they crush ipob since they made security operatives their target. They could have focused on just hitting the herdsmen but something went wrong in their tactics. Caution is seriously needed. |
And more of this is expected as this guys need money to bankroll their activities. Though a stitch in time saves nine they say. |
illicit:Hmmmm But at the same time needed in her life. This is a woman who lost her parents with no-one again but herself. Today is her birthday and it's not a bad thing to make it special for her. That's the contribution that person can gift her. See the glow in her eyes; they're real happiness. If everyone of us makes a meaningful impact on the lives of those we can across, Nigeria would have been a better place. Pls let her enjoy this day and feel like a queen. |
Ever8090:At least appreciate the one u just saw irrespective of the excuses crawling inside ur tommy otherwise you become a nad citizen too |
NewDelhi:Like seriously, they're becoming something else. If this is what #endsars is all about then the cops should go after them yahoo boys again for peace to reign |
Oju4190:Self defense. Case close |
patrickmuf:Nothing more than the weed flowing in his brain. Haven't we been seeing the reckless display of these guys on the streets of late? He thought the public will back him and the officer will be disgraced. Restraint and caution with a little diplomacy may have save him from the mess. |
Shoodboi:Even if your narratives were true, the driver proved to be an idiot. If not he should know there will be no hiding place for someone who assaults a police officer on duty. In the US or Uk he would be a dead man by now. His foolishness had just conferred some favors on the officers. There are some unwritten rules to organized civil disobedience, and at the same time demands some tactics and strategic approaches. It's not something you just want to do cos you're under the influence of a controlled substance or for the fact that you hate the men in black. |
In fact, a special tribunal should be set up to try suspects involved in terrorism and kidnapping in Nigeria. I think that will be the best thing that will bring an end to all this rubbish once and for all. |
It's good they apologized. Some peeps were so quick to castigate the government without actually knowing the fact of the matter. |
Vinnie2000:And you think that action of the Action Group was a coincidence? Awo did it to give another yoruba subgroup an edge over the others in that region. It's self preservation and cultural solidarity. When Awo died Rewane an itsekiri man became the leader of the group before he killed by Abacha's hitmen. |
UstazAhmed:By this statement you're not a muslim for Allah said "the believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy (49:10)." Brotherhood is not only based on faith, but it is also a part of that faith. The Prophet (SAW) said: “You cannot enter paradise unless you become a total believer and you won’t become a total believer unless you love each other.” Faith and community are inseparable in the faith community produced by Islam. Even an occasional reader of Quran would note that it always addresses the Believers, not the Believer. All acts of worship that are declared pillars of Islam have a collective form shows the importance of Muslim Brotherhood that one should get the benefit while doing with other Muslim brothers. Those people who join in the worship of Allah produce a Muslim Brotherhood that demonstrates the best moral values of the faith. The believers are brothers in Religion just as Allah has described them in the Quran: “The believers are nothing else than brothers. So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy” (Al-Hujurat, 10). The reason for their being described in this way is that they all share the same beliefs, work towards the same goals, and share the same code of behavior. Islam teaches that all mankind is but one family, as such all man and women are brothers and sisters. This verse also clarifies that the criteria for judgment in the eyes of Allah do not depend on caste, color, profession, gender or wealth, but on Taqwa, piety, and righteousness. Anyone who is righteous and pious is honored in the eyes of Allah. Allah said in another verse of Holy Quran: “Hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. Remember the favor of Allah upon you, when you were enemies and he brought your hearts together and you became brothers by his favor.” (Quran, 3:103). This verse clearly states that we should stay united as Allah commanded in Quran because He made us brothers by creating love in our hearts. The level of brotherhood involves purifying the heart of all enmity, hatred, and grudge for those who have faith, including for the righteous predecessors of Islam, those who believed in the previous prophets, and the general masses of believers throughout all of history. Allah says in Quran: “They say: Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts any resentment toward those who have faith. Our Lord, you are kind and merciful.” (Quran, 59:10). May Allah forgive your shortcomings. |
CyynthiaKiss:Yes the Sultan. It was fixed thus cos no adherents of other religion but a muslim can become the Sultan. First cos it's an Emirate, and the control of other emirates traditionally lied with the Sultan. All the northern emirates we're headed by his vassals. The emirate was a religious thing before it became a political power. But coming to the SW, the Obaship stool is purely political and cultural. Any prince of whichever faith could become a king and he must be seen to be neutral to all religions. An Aare musulumi may be in order or chief Amir (religious leader). Emir is the bastardized word from Amir. The SW I don't think have centralized the control of the islam in one body. It's imperative for the Sultan, like other muslim leaders, to echo the commencement of the Ramadan after Saudi Arabia have made the announcement. |
techmo:The man is guilty and so was the useless governor who refused to pay the allowances of the security personnel. Most of these Southern governors would sit on their security votes and would be dodging questions on security challenges in their domains or would rather deny their existence. The police officer, though a stupid move, may have chosen not to act on the reason given above on the part of the governor. Security is money. You get what you pay for. For 8 months the governor owed them money and also refused to fund their operations. You expect the security men to risk their lives when they know too well you don't value them? Mtcheew... |
SpecialAdviser:Why not leave Ambode be in peace? The makeup of the political structure in Lagos is quite different and distinct from that of Edo state. And what manifested in Edo's last election was a movement shift even greater than the two players ie Oshiomole and Obaseki. The people spoke and it doesn't mean it was correct. But that's the power of the power for you. But in Lagos, Ambode knew he was a nobody in the power equation yet he became a governor against other powerful candidates within the party. He's a beneficiary without a political base and he failed to rally the support of the 'elders' of the party partly bcoz of his arrogance and inexperience. Even his godfather don't joke with those guys. Ambode has no chance in such an environment. He was even foolish to have turned down the offer of a ministerial appointment or a seat at the Senate, rather he chose a chance to test a popularity he never had. Ambode should be left alone in peace. The man was no coward, his celebrated defeat was a result of bad advise and false hope from people who couldn't save him when it mattered. He did his best to the best if his ability. If I were him I would retrace my steps to my benefactor who saved him from retirement to make him a governor. Remember rule number one in 48 Laws of Power, Never outshine your master. |
ablejesus26:You don't seem to understand what suddenly caused the indifference you observed. These begs resell the cash alms given to them by people to money ritualists. No-one wants to take the risk again. The beggars anyday will be so willing to exchange their collections for a fat pay from those evil people. An elderly wealthy beggar was arrested and she confessed to the reselling business. If you believe you're so immuned to their evil or collaborating with the bad guys give them. |

DSS should disguise and start arrest dis THIEVES
. Ever since they were dissolved, Yahoo boys have been having a field day. Those days when sars still dey , Yahoo boys barely come out during daytime. But these days , you see them everywhere causing nuisance.
