overall90:That's politics. The Yorubas and the Hausa-fulani have been having issues even before the creation of Nigeria and how they settled them have been above the understanding of those who doesn't know about the workings of a kingdom. Inside some tribes like Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Nupe, Ebira, Kanuri, Gwari, Igala, Borgi etc you still find traces of each in the others. Check the ancestry of some families within these enclaves you will understand. At different times they learn to move on without harboring deep hatred for one another. The only failure we have is the institutions that failed to check the excesses of selfish politicians who arrogate undue favors to only those who share a common affinity with him. |
Kabongo1:And you have also forgotten that the land on which the school is built in those days were usually given free to those missions hoping that the communities will benefit from them. And the same school irrespective of the name you call it, the staff are paid from tax payers monies of which majority of them are those same Muslim parents you want to deny their children access to a school tagged public school. Those days the Muslim parents were passive and few of them were literate but at an age with active awareness they're just challenging the injustices that have been meted to them by the minority christian community that had always used religion as a tool to surprese them. If the christians are really not looking for issues, one of my teachers those days was a nun, and a very nice lady. She always dressed as a nun and no harassment from the Muslim authorities. It was just a veil and the school could give specifications how and which colors which must match the school uniform. Denying them access to school is also a breach of the universal fundamental rights of a girl child's to education. Today those girls are Muslims who knows which religion they would embrace by virtue of marriage. It's plain stupid to always want to force our own ways down the throats of others. Those kids have the rights not to be discriminated against on the basis of their religion. The state needs to abolish all religious practices in all public institutions. Religion is a tool in the hands of some power-drunk idiots in Nigeria. |
Everyone of us are kind of hypocritical about this whole ritual saga. And it will not stop until we all join hands to put an end to it once and for all. When young men with no source of verifiable income were gallivanting about in campuses flaunting ill-gotten wealth, and the security agencies went after them, everyone here, even on nairaland were hitting the roof with noise on what should be and shouldn't be, and all those human rights shit. Now that everything is coming home to roost, who knows who the next victims will be. It's time to say no to anything yahoo yahoo or any semblance of it in our community. There is an upsurge in their activities after the endsars protest. Is this how we intend to continue? |
frog12:Not only that, I have heard from boys in the street that to hide a stolen or fraud money just move it through a sport bet account then to wherever. It's high time for the government to go after these unregulated sector |
Hanoon:Take note of the three firms concerned: GTB, sparkle microfinance and sportybet. Let's go after them with the power of social media. The public can band together to save the soul of another cheated member of the masses. |
WibusJaga:The decision to do that lies with the political authorities you guys voted into power. No matter how zealous the military is in total eradication all the evil elements in Nigeria they can't go against the directive of the political authorities or the executive arm of government at all time. Even the mighty US military are selective in whom to eliminate as per the dictates of the political class. The military can't on their own decide to free known terrorists who have inflicted casualties on own troops. The soldiers have many problems to contend with in dealing with these trouble makers. That's the average soldiers are angry with the civilians. |
NwekeUG:This one is just chasing clout. No sign of bleached skin. Look at her knuckles, no single tip of darkness, face - all shades clean. What I'm seeing is her natural skin with a little embellishment. So the bitch is lying |
Nicepoker:Who told you he didn't know? The first thing a soldier will learn about is conspiracy ( which coup falls under) and subversion. He knew they were setting a trap for him and he didn't want to supply them the needed weapon to roast him when the mo was trying to lead him. He's doing so, so he could plead his case in his own way. The mp will still charge him for whatever suit them anyway. |
TeeGentle:Her mother is white. An American white. She's wonderful to be acting in Yoruba language. |
LibertyRep:Exactly. The Lagos State government ordered that all streets shouldn't locked unnecessarily at certain hours yet some people disobeyed the orders thinking they are above the law. Let's wait for his side of the story... |
AntiBeEmCe:Most of the times you guys will just condemn any action of the security agencies to bring sanity back to your communities and yet still complain about insecurity. This may be due to ignorance or pure hate. For your information the navy base at Onitsha is an outpost unit, which means it's a frontline force for the main Operation Bases which are far away from you guys as they're stationed at Calabar, Portharcout, Akwa Ibom for the eastern areas. These Operation Bases have large coverage, and have Forward Operating Bases FOBs as first line of response along the waterways inshore and offshore. But Outposts like you have in Onitsha and some parts of Nigeria are to act closers to land as first response in sting operations, internal security and military aid to civil authorities. Special forces are amphibious in nature, they operate both on land and sea. Such operation are also going on in some areas in the northeast. So, if you check among the constitutional duties of the Nigerian Navy, you will see what the fourth roles is. God bless. |
I'm not really concerned about the the morals of the woman but the fact that each time someone dies the Nigerian investigative system makes people suffer unnecessarily, even when they might be innocent. The police is worst, most times the victims are forced to pay bail at ridiculous amount. Fine, many things will come into the mind of the army like a major dying inside the barracks just like that could be the work of their enemies. But she could have been handed to the criminal department of the relevant agency if she's suspected to be a flight risk. But keeping her that long is an infringement on her civil right just because she came to sleep with a man. And eventually when it was discovered he died from an overdose of an enhancement should she just go like that without compensation? Cases like this happen everywhere, where lovers go to hotels, and one suffering from probably a pre-existing illness like asthma dies the other one is put behind bars and treated like a common criminal. So, let there be compensation for the lady for the days she spent behind bars and the trauma such incarceration would have brought upon her children and family. |
The criminals were apprehended cos the community has decided to put an end to having robbers and criminals dominating their space. Any community where criminals hold sway, check, the community members are either supporting such or benefiting from their nefarious acts. |
Something is definitely wrong with these guys. Couple of days back some were nabbed for extorting crypto from some guys. With the way things are going it seems a policeman or woman can't survive without extorting or inflicting hardship on the people they were meant to protect. Since the IGP and his team can't handle his corrupt rank and file, an agency from the Internal Affairs should be allowed to oversee and monitor their activities with good access by civil authorities. And not only should any erring police officer be dismissed but also jailed for offences like this |
Very funny girl. Pranks we play as kids |
Nigercity:It's talk like yours that make people victimize hardworking and peace loving Ibos in other parts of Nigeria. For your information there are so many Ibadan residents of Igbo extractions who have lived all their lives and are more like a Yoruba person in their deeds and thoughts. His dad is a pastor in Ibadan don't you think the guy grew up there. And OAU, UI and Unilag have powerful alumni and lecturers who are Ibo but are more at home there? Who are even all these people with hate-filled hearts who always invaded this space to spew trash? |
Perfecttouch:Many Nigerians are ignorant of the offences they commit on a daily basis. The police may have petitioned that skit knowing he is a personnel of the navy. And true, a public officer needs not ridicule another govt agency. He should have left that to others |
observanc1:Continue buying snacks in traffic. If Nigeria was actually lawful, a ticket would have been issued to you for that, which will in turn haunt you for a long time. But unfortunately, Nigeria is lawless, so you can even stop to poo in the midst of the traffic. I rest my case. |
Adrian98:It seems most of you guys usually failed to know the role of the military in society building. The military could be called upon to fill any role when you have a failure in that department. If your traffic warden and other similar agencies had done their jobs with passion and professionally soldiers wouldn't have been drafted there in the first place. Soldiers won't just come out to start controlling traffic without a request in their high command. Soldiers are trained to manage and control traffic if you don't know. You should know that for you to see soldiers performing the role of a civil agency there's a breach somewhere and strict compliance is expected. Next time he won't stop to buy stuffs at traffic when soldiers are controlling the traffic. |
Every time you folks will rush to the social media to always paint the soldiers black. If not for them managing the traffic along that area and Ikeja along axis would you be able to get home early enough in a day cos your lastma and police are only there to extort rather than perform the duties they were paid for. Who doesn't know most motorists on Lagos roads would deliberately create unnecessary traffic bottlenecks with no justification. But the soldiers would be pulled out of the comfort of their barracks to support the roles of these failing agencies and all you people do is to misbehave to them and disregard simple instructions. |
Esseite:That's contained in the extant rules and regulations. Such female officers are to be paid lodging allowance to cover their rents. People will just go the press to give the services bad names most of the time. In most cases the activities of these male spouses of female officers negate security around and within the barracks. These have always been overlooked for a long time. Some thing must have happened that gave birth to its reactivation in that State. |
Shellsploit:So the plan is to demolish the family houses of some people? Hmmmmm May this evil plan not see the light of the day o |
powerfulguy:This is the best way to go. Anyone found guilty of terrorism and kidnaping should be hanger to death by hanging. Drastic situation calls for drastic measures. |
bcomputer101:Then whosoever started the madness of sit at home helped them ease their ways into power |
MadamVanessa:A system that gives too much liberty to women make them end up eventually becoming the victim. The order of nature as made by God, as you can see in other animals is for man to be the pathfinder and head, and not the other way around. More women are suffering from various neuro-psychiatric problems in these western countries with no solutions in sight. Their pedophilic expressions are signs of the mental disorder they're suffering due to the alterations of the order of nature. The ones who can't get young boys or are scared of consequences resort to sleeping with pet animals. Hope, you get my point? |
Agboriotejoye:You need to get your facts right. Soun was actually his name, and it was established that he's of bariba or borgu origin. Ajagungbade might be a title since he was an esho of the Oyo kingdom. He wasn't also the founder of ogbomosho, as there were about 3 other hamlets then but he was the most popular. He was brave and his defeat of elemosho another esho who went rogue aided his rise to preeminence. So pls do ur findings well about his ancestry. Thank you |
abobote:The soldiers lost their lives for not turning their guns on the people. If they had shot straight at the villagers by now it would be a different story. Gragra will only lead you to destruction. By the time more retaliatory measures will be foisted on that community they will know the mistake they had committed. Wish them good luck. |
Tajbol4splend:Someone said the had a skin disease which caused some pigmentations, so he had to get himself bleached to cover it up. And as a star kept that aspect of himself secret. Let's not be quick to judge. |
Alusiizizi:Not saying you're not correct cos you have a right to your own opinion and fantasies. While it maybe true or not. But haven't you seen a man who had children with different women but none look like their mothers? If anyone could have such a dominant gene, then nature could also produce men with a very recessive gene. |
Alusiizizi:That last one got his eyes but I suspect that was the surrogate's (probably an Indian not the red) baby. |
lonelydora:Thank God, you're alive to tell your story. The truth is whenever you're approaching such checkpoints, especially in volatile areas where their members have been attacked pls don't make calls. They might think you're spying on them. The security situation has deteriorated so bad that they too need to take proactive measures to protect themselves. You might not meant any harm but there are those with evil intentions masking around as normal people. The people of NE Nigeria will tell you their experience; it's not enviable. So are those in areas the UGM are operating. Saying sorry and asking politely from them might have given you your answer but because you're a Nigerian and we like breaking sweat over unnecessary bragado you took the wrong approach. They have their own standard operating procedure SOP, which varies from area to area, and state to state. The SOPs come from the IG, Commissioners, Area Commanders etc Let nobody deceive you, it's good to apply common sense and simple diplomacy in issues like this. Thank you. |
Grace001:It's still sacred. Those were princes with royal blood flowing in their veins. Most of the time the descendants of the custodians of the customs are usually the culprits. |
