Simple: those with heritable traits that favor survival and reproduction will tend to leave more offspring than their peers, causing those traits to skyrocket in frequency over generations, while unfavorable ones die off.

In humans those traits would be: loving broccoli and hating juicy, sumptuous steak; loving going to the gym more than chilling and watching TV; loving drinking lots of plain water instead of sweet drinks; loving bland foods instead of salty, tasty foods.

Well, if you look around you you'd notice hardly any humans have those traits, yet according to natural selection those should be traits of over 90% of humans!

Natural selection sounds very good on paper, and very logical but it often doesn't pan out in real life.

You have a feeling humans have always liked those things and will always like those things. Just as lions have always liked meat, and sheep have always liked grass - none of that is from natural selection!

I read Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. A prof asked me what I was reading and I turned the cover and told him, he said it's not the book cos that's not what he read as a boy when the book was first released . I am still reading the same content and the first copies will eventually be lost. Whether on a stone tablet, scroll, manuscript, animal skins, parchment, electronic device, book, etc. Generations have been reading God's word in every readable format and that Author ha fulfilled his promise that his Word will last throughout all generations. Let all kinds of readable materials perish, the message endures forever.

There's this very nice married senior colleague of mine who is having a very messy marital life, my other colleague hinted me about it and I actually got close to him and eventually gets him to pour out his heart to me.

According to him, he got married at early 40s to his very young wife as at then who was 19years. Infact he said his mother-in-law never approved of their marriage but his wife insisted and with the support of the father-in-law they got married. However after their first child, he enrolled the wife in a university to further her studies as she married him as a secondary school dropout. That was the beginning of his chaos, that was the beginning of seefinish according to him, that was the beginning of nightmares in his home.

It started by getting reports from people who knows him(he's rich and popular in his home town) about his wife's wayward lifestyle with lecturers and administrative staff, so many nasty reports and how she throws herself at some of these people which many people never believed she was married. Eventually she graduated and came back home, he never confronted her because he really loved her, so he let everything slide. She got pregnant for their second child and when she was due for delivery she had an accident that almost claimed her life, fortunately she was saved and her baby survived as well but unfortunately she won't be able to have more children. She started complaining about everything and how this man has reduced her beauty and even reporting him to his friend about everything happening in their home. The friend always advise him to send her away but he couldn't do it for the sake of his children.

So she advanced by telling this man that they should no longer welcome visitors in their home, family members are not welcomed as well and if you want to see him, he will give you a location to meet him but definitely not his house. This man became a shadow of himself that he refused family interference as well.

He told me she dresses provocatively and goes out and comes back at will. Then he decided to hack her WhatsApp and what he saw was a mess that he couldn't ever imagine in his life. This woman sends her nude and indulge in sex videos with different kind of men, some are way younger than her and all other sorts of dirty activities.

Having discovered all these things about his wife, he still has not summoned the courage to chase her out, she even goes to her room and lock herself to do nude videos to send to different men but he's still saying whenever he wants to chase her away he thinks about his kids and won't be able to do so.

The recent one she's doing is planning to relocate abroad to meet one of her lovers and she's already processing visa and even threatening the man that soon she'll leave him to go enjoy her life. As it stands now, they are just living together and don't talk to each other or even cook for him. She threatened the man that she'll kill him if he dares stand against her plans and he has gone to the police station to make report concerning this.

He asked me what I think he should do and I told him it's quite a pathetic story that will need the advise of an experienced person, I actually played smart on him because I was told he doesn't take advise and that he has been advised severally to end the marriage with her but he always have no courage doing that. This man has developed blood pressure due to all he's facing from his wife.

What grip could this woman be having on him?

What is the best way out for him and if the wife's relocation eventually fails, should this man continue to live with this woman?

He obviously need help but unfortunately he has chased his family away and stopped friends from getting close, how would you help this kind of man who unfortunately found himself in this deep mess?

If he can't summon courage to tell her to leave then he should summon courage to just leave her.

Just as I can't debate your experiences, you can't debate mine. I was a Christian I experienced all these emotional highs and I know now what they are though at the time I thought they were spiritual experiences. Even now I still get them, they are wonderful but I don't chase them anymore because they are meant to be experienced not chased.

Go to church, be regular, become and usher and gradually work your way to the top and even become a pastor.

There are many perks to being able to control a multitude of people and you will be able to build a network of people willing to do the most just for you to "pray" for them.

I know of youth pastors who were getting free fuel during fuel scarcity, free transfers from their members and free kpekus from the church ladies.

Most people crave subjugation and if you can be in that position to manipulate and exploit them then you should grab the opportunity.

I wish I could take your advice. I am the kind of person that people easily trust, and I have always been in leadership positions, but my conscience won't let me undertake such a massive scale of deception. I'm a student who's an undercover atheist. I'm always getting accosted by christian fellowships left, right and center on campus. As someone who hates any type of attention, most times, I pretend to be an unserious, non-churchgoing christian but that only seems to draw these people's attention to me.

Last semester, a guy invited me to church, service was scheduled for 7am, by 6:30am, this guy came to my room to wake me up! His face was literally the first thing I saw in the morning. It was so annoying. This is just one out of the many annoying things this guy and other "evangelists" have done to drag me to their church. I don't want to be known as an atheist for obvious reasons, yet, I want to ward off people like this guy and his ilk. I'd like to hear from other atheists.

If there are multiple churches in the vicinity tell them you are going to the church that's not their own. And if they try to press tell them no thank you you would like to attend the other church. If you can't just tell them no thanks you'll go next time.

Many of us know that the books of Kings and Chronicles contain parallel accounts of what the history of the Kings of Israel and Judah. The book of Kings were written by Jeremiah and Chronicles was written by Ezra and they were not contemporaries. Many critics and atheists point to this contradiction. Let's examine it.

Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri.

How could Ahaziah be both 22 years old and 42 years old when he started to reign? How old was Ahaziah when he ruled Jerusalem? 22 or 42?

Before we answer, let us understand that the original copies of the scriptures are lost. What we have are copies of copies and there are several of them. While the copyists were meticulous in their copying, there were likely some mistakes and the best way to know is by comparison. For example, in high school whenever I miss class, I borrow two notes on that subject cos it's likely I may not see something clearly on a particular note or something was omitted so I'll check the other. But where I was not sure, I'll ask for other notes and still compare and I'll get the correct text. I did not have to go and ask for the teacher's note .
Regarding the slight contradictions in the ages of Ahaziah. Comparisons of all the manuscripts we have help us to conclude that he was 22 years old when he ruled Jerusalem. The problem is not from the scriptures in itself but the copyist who made the mistakes. Unlike Bible writers, copyists are not inspired so we should not be surprised.

So when reading the Bible and we see something contradictory, don't conclude that God's word is invalid and full of error. Do a little more research, it's worth it. True, we don't understand everything in the Bible but that does not make it invalid either.

To former christians now atheist. Remember when you were in christ and commited sin, you felt so much guilt and dirt, even something seemingly tiny like lusting after the opposite sex or telling white lies gave you so much discomfort that you had to kneel down,confess and repent.

Remember when you were able to believe and accept all the messges given by your preacher.

You had much confidence when you read the bible or prayed.

You had a fear of GOD and a desire to follow Him with so much joy.

All of these is as a result of this 'Tender conscience'.

When you start paying attention to atheism, you start drifting away from the SPIRIT of GOD, making it hard for Him to speak to you.

Most people believe in GOD but, the real children of God are those whom the Holyspirit speak to their conscience.

When you see yourself sinning and blaspheming God with no fear and guilt, you have seared your conscience(1timothy4:2-5).

Lemme ask you, do you feel the same fear towards your parents now that you are older as you did when you were younger?
