Malaria is not new to any African as it has been a major health scare in Africa.
There is currently no vaccine against malaria and according to the latest figures from the World Health Organisation, the disease killed 438,000 people in 2015.

A group of Ethiopian scientists have discovered mosquitoes are repulsed by the smell of chicken and this finding has raised hopes for the development of a new way to prevent a disease that kills many Africans yearly.

The team led by Professor Habte Tekie at the University of Addis Ababa began their investigation after noticing that mosquitoes bite humans and other animals but stay away from chickens.

The prof speaking with AFP said they went into the chemical basis involved in repelling malaria mosquitoes by odours emanating from the chickens... The results show that compounds from chicken have very good potential as repellent." Adding that one theory for their behaviour is that mosquitoes see chickens as a predator, so seek to avoid them.

It was revealed that tests carried out in the three villages in western Ethiopia showed that families that slept beneath a chicken cage over night were mosquito-free in the morning, while homes indoor poultry were not.

The obvious challenges of sleeping with a bird suspended over the bed were addressed in a follow-up experiment in which villagers were supplied with vials of chicken extract. The results were similar.

The findings will be published in the medical publication Malaria Journal, and will be used in a new collaboration with Swedish scientists to develop an odourless repellent. Anytime I remember about June 12, I recollect this man.Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (August 24, 1937–July 7, 1998), often referred to as M. K. O. He in the end came to be acclaimed enough to begin requesting money for his exhibitions and utilized the cash to uphold his family and his optional instruction at the Baptist Boys High School Abeokuta, where he outperformed. He was the editor of the school magazine The Trumpeter, Olusegun Obasanjo was deputy editor. At the age of 19 he joined the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons apparently as a result of its container Africanist office, inclining toward it to the Obafemi Awolowo-led Action Group's keep focus on investment and educational advancement for the Western Region of Nigeria, where the Yoruba were in the majority.
In 1956 Moshood Abiola started his professional life as bank clerk with Barclays Bank plc in Ibadan, South-West Nigeria. After two years he joined the Western Region Finance Corporation as an executive accounts officer before leaving for Glasgow, Scotland to pursue his higher education. In Glasgow he received 1st class in political economy, commercial law and management accountancy. He also received a distinction from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. On his return to Nigeria, he worked as a senior accountant at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital, then went onto Pfizer, before joining the ITT Corporation, where he later rose to the position of Vice President, Africa and Middle-East of the whole partnership, which was head-quartered in the United States. Therefore Moshood Abiola invested a considerable measure of his time and money in the United States, whilst holding the post of executive of the corporation's Nigerian subsidiary.
Abiola invested heavily in Nigeria and West AfricaHe set up Abiola Farms, Abiola bookshops, Radio Communications Nigeria, Wonder bakeries, Concord Press, Concord Airlines, Summit oil international ltd, Africa Ocean lines, Habib Bank, Decca W.A. ltd, and Abiola football club. In addition to these, he also managed to perform his duties as Chairman of the G15 business council, President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Patron of the Kwame Nkrumah Foundation.
Moshood Abiola sprang to national and global prominence as a consequence of his humanitarian exercises. The Congressional Black Caucus of the United States of America issued the following tribute to Moshood Abiola
“Because of this man, there is both cause for hope and certainty that the agony and protests of those who suffer injustice shall give way to peace and human dignity. The children of the world shall know the great work of this extraordinary leader and his fervent mission to right wrong, to do justice, and to serve mankind. The enemies which imperil the future of generations to come: poverty, ignorance, disease, hunger, and racism have each seen effects of the valiant work of Chief Abiola. Through him and others like him, never again will freedom rest in the domain of the few. We, the members of the Congressional Black Caucus salute him this day as a hero in the global pursuit to preserve the history and the legacy of the African diaspora”
From 1972 until his death Moshood Abiola had been conferred with 197 traditional titles by 68 different communities in Nigeria, in response to the fact that his financial assistance resulted in the construction of 63 secondary schools, 121 mosques and churches, 41 libraries, 21 water projects in 24 states of Nigeria, and was grand patron to 149 societies or associations in Nigeria.
Moshood Abiola was twice voted worldwide businessman of the year, and gained various honorary doctorates from universities all over the world. In 1987 he was given the golden key to the city of Washington D.c., and he was bestowed with an award from the NAACP and the King center in the USA, and also the International Committee on Education for Teaching in Paris, around numerous others. In Nigeria, the Oloye Abiola was made the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland. It is the most noteworthy chieftancy title accessible to everyday citizens around the Yoruba, and has just been given by the tribe 14 times in its history. This basically rendered Abiola the ceremonial Viceroy of the greater part of his tribespeople. I've been a season-ticket holder at Arsenal for 24 years and I've never felt so low about the club I love. Every year I pay a fortune to watch matches at the Emirates but I just don't get value for money anymore - and it's been like that for too long. After Arsene Wenger joined the club in 1996, us fans were spoiled with top players, attractive, attacking football, and titles and trophies galore. It's gone downhill since that day.
I went to the Crystal Palace game at the weekend and it's got so bad for fans like me that you can now even buy match tickets on the day of the game. The last time I can remember that happening is when I was a boy - I'm 29 now. I couldn't bring myself to go to the West Brom game last night: I sold my tickets BACK to the club. I'm sick of going to watch Arsenal knowing we're going to lose or draw.
My dad has been a season ticket holder all his life and now even he is talking about getting rid of it.
He's been watching Arsenal for 55 years and just can't take it anymore. Instead of going to the Emirates I watched the West Brom match at home with some friends. As the match progressed I found myself getting more and more frustrated. My friend turned to me and said: "You're the only football fan I've ever seen who is still going mental when you're 2-0 up". I'm sure I'm not alone among Arsenal fans. But how did we get to the point where loyal, die hard fans are simply giving up on the club? Simple: we're in this mess because because of our manager and the board. In American billionaire Stan Kroenke, we've got a chairman who doesn't appear to be a football supporter. And I'm sorry to say that Arsene Wenger's time is up. I love him, and he gave fans some incredible memories with the Invincibles season, three Premier League titles and six FA Cup wins, but he's had his time. He can't tell players off when they need to be told they're not performing. He hasn't bought a world class striker since Thierry Henry. None of The Invincibles have ever been replaced.
His press conferences after each game always seem to consist of him m0an!ng the team was hard done by. In reality, that's just not true. They just haven't been good enough. It's clear to the fans that Arsenal is no longer really a football club, it's a business. The owner seems happy with a Champions League place each year - and that's it. It doesn't seem to matter to him whether we actually win anything, as long as that top four spot is secure. Arsenal fans are simply not being rewarded with trophies for the amount of money we have to spend to watch our team. The time has come for wholesale changes at the top of the club: we now need a new management team and a new owner to get us moving forward again, and to finally deliver the title that the fans crave - and know the club is capable of delivering under the right leadership.
Jose Mourinho once said that Wenger was a "specialist in failure". I didn't agree with him at the time but now it saddens me to say that he was right. If Wenger stays I won't be going next season.

in 1999 but left it at N11,000 in 2015 when they
left power.
2. PDP met the Dollar at N20 when they came in
1999 but left it at N220 in 2015 when they were
leaving.
3. PDP met petrol pump price at N11 when they
came in 1999 but left it at N87 when they were
leaving in 2015.
4. PDP met a bag of cement at less than N400
but left it at N2000 while they were
leaving in 2015.
5. PDP met a tin of milk at N15 in 1999 but left
it at N100 when they left in 2015.
6. PDP met only OPC in 1999 but left us with
Niger Delta militancy, MASSOB, IPOB,
BAKKASI and Boko Haram as at when they left

7. PDP was ushered in with a free and fair

A friend went to apply for a drivers license on Tuesday and he came back to narrate his shocking findings. He said he was told the process has recently changed.. That he has to register with a certified driving school and get training for 26days, after which he will be sent a certificate from Abuja to print out and then he can come back with it to apply for a driver license.

My friend and I are surprised at this. So I was wondering if any of you guys already know this or is someone speaking Latin?
