I called you delusional because you are delusional, you even agree with me by this post as you have been educated on the impossibility and shortsightedness of your request, having said that, I guess I should have been calmer in my approach, but you struck me as an arrogant person who would turn out to be a nightmare to work with. The pacing is usually horrendous and on top of that they include scenes that doesn't contribute to the story or move it forward, but the dialogue is another big flaw inherent in our movies, not just the dialogue but also the delivery.

After hearing so much about this movie, I finally decided to check it out and I kinda enjoyed it.
The movie was mostly well shot, so I don't have any complaints cinematography wise.
I really enjoyed how raw the movie was. It added a layer of realism to the whole experience. The actresses even went as far as going nude, which is something you don't usually see in Nigerian movies.
I also enjoyed the use of pidgin English in the movie. Their talk just dey sweet my belle.

Even though there is a lot to like in this movie, I can't help but fell like it wasn't executed well.

For starters, the whole idea of going undercover as a prostitute is quite ridiculous IMO. However, Oloture keeps behaving like she is a naive teenager who doesn't know what to expect from the world of prostitution which shouldn't be so.
Most of the "bad things" that happened to her are things that anyone with an ounce of sense would expect out of the Ashawo industry.
Also, How long does she think she can keep running away from clients without other people suspecting that there is something up with her?
If the other girls also see that she only goes off with one client (her journalist friend) that would also be weird.

Speaking about running away, I have to admit that even though I enjoyed the first club scene, its quite dumb when you think about it.
If she didn't want to sleep with that man, why did she agree to go to the room with him?
I also found it too convenient that the window in the room had a protector while the window in the bathroom did not have a protector.

Also, towards the end of the movie when they were searched and their phones taken away, I also found it incredibly dumb that Oloture will tell those guys that she didn't have a phone.
This raises a MASSIVE red flag. It's impossible to believe that a young olosho in 2019/2020 does not have a phone. Kids have phone, poor people have phone, heck, even beggars have phone so I don't think anyone will even buy the idea that she's doesn't have a phone.
The logical thing to do would have been to come with two phones-and then remit one to the guys.


It also irked me that the "bad guys" were perpetually smoking. This is like the Nigerian version of a mustache twirling, cat stroking Bond villain and it became really cheesy quite fast.


Acting wise, the movie had a lot Of solid acting . But it was also sprinkled with bad acting too.
Overacting was also an issue and I would blame the Director for this. The acting from the bad guys was so campy and on the nose.

Overall, I would say the movie movie had an interesting subject matter that it could have explore more deeply.
It's still a fun watch and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

At the 59.32 mark, when the Linda is meeting her sister at the motor park, there is an instrumental song that is playing. I've looked through the credit and it's not there. Is that even legal? Can you use someone's composition in a movie without crediting them?
Anyway, if you know the name of the song, please help me out.

This is very objective, the movie had flaws but the cinematography was good.

Average to say the least, in no area does this beat Oloture. The pacing mostly was horrendous, the editing was average and the cinematography was very unpleasant to me. They had a good story but lacked a good narrative structure to drive it forward, this movie is a case study on how not to use flashbacks and music. I have not seen any Afolayan movie prior to this, but if this is what he can do despite his experience and the talents he had, he must not be very good at his work.

That took place around 90 + 3 minutes with few seconds to go, messi was our only player at the opposition half, we had 9 men and the goalie at our own half of the field, I'd find it ridiculous had he chased that player, I don't get what the fuss is all about.

I am amazed at how good this movie turned out to be, this is the kind of picture we should be touting for international recognition, it's not perfect, but it hits a lot of points very well. The pacing was good except for some instances, the cinematography was okay, the acting was impressive (except for that fat man who doesn't know how to ph-uc a girl, it kinda reminded me of johnny's sex scenes in The Room ) and the scores that were used fit perfectly. Most importantly the story was engrossing, I was really interested till the very end and that ending fits reasonably well.

These nonentites will think up any absurd argument and bring it here because they know some people here will readily oblige them.

If you download from a site without subtitle, head over to yifysubtitles and grab yourself a copy, unzip it and add it to your fleem while watching (use vlc media player).

Or use sites like yts, every movie there has a link to download the subtitle, you just have to be carefree with your data.
