MT: While i wont dismiss what you wrote because like I said , it's not my turf, but your submission raises more questions than it answers. Are you implying that the entire world financial institutions and regulatory bodies have accepted that the US could just print money arbitrarily to save her economy anytime there is a crisis just because the dollars is the defacto global currency. If this is acceptable, then there is no need for the US to want to industrialise the country as they can just snap their fingers and ask the central bank to print more dollars. Infact they should not be in competition with China as they can easily print more dollars. Please I will like you or any other economists here to shed more lights. Thanks for your contributions as I just want to learn something very new. The US don't just snap their fingers and ask the central bank to print dollars.... Google quantitative easing and try to understand for your self |

rusher14: The word was not invented this year but It was further truggered as soon as the effect of Coronavirus began to take its toll on the economy.
Funny enough, the rest of the world would be printing money too. How much quantitative easing have we done in the UK?
Following the programme of QE announced in March 2020, our purchases of government bonds will total £645 billion.
Rounds of QE have been announced in response to the economic conditions at the time. This graphic shows how bond purchases have built up over the years:
So do we keep our currency at same level whilst the rest of the world "prospers"?
Many of you like to argue just for the sake of it. I did not argue with you o....of course you are more intelligent than the CBN governor so who am I to argue with you |

rusher14: Why is it that the badly educated are the first to air their opinion on issues beyond their comprehension on this forum?
America has implemented quantitative easing- printing of more dollars to absorb the effect of Coronavirus on their economy.
If the US can do that, and Nigeria itself bases a lot of its commodities on the value of the dollar, why shouldn't we print more Naira representative of the volume printed of the dollar? Quantitative easing was not introduced to absorb the effect of coronavirus on their economy....If you are just hearing of quantitative easing this year then you should Google and get more information. Have you ask yourself the simple question if it was that easy to just print money as you like why are African countries borrowing money and not just print? Or you think tinubu at 68 is wiser than them all right? |

Fear corona virus and likely you will be afflicted.
Mind you, fear is not bad, it is when we harbour it and live in it that make it bad. There is difference between Giving out information and telling ppl about taking precaution and also preventing the spread of the virus and panic. The information is not to create panic but to create awareness so we should stop interpreting it as panic |

kikero: So vote in the right leaders, or run for office yourself.
We have been complaining about how they would chop our money for years, without doing anything about it. You sound so naive. The problem of Nigeria goes beyond voting. First the system of voting is designed to fail so your vote at the moment doesn't really count except of course you have to put a proper electronic system for voting. Secondly you have a large number of illiterate and poor population....lol that will vote for just a cup of rice or 1000 naira so those ppl will vote the leader that spends more and automatically that leader will have to recoup the funds invested. As a country what we need is just a system that checks and balances. Do you know by the single act of BVN it solves the issue of identity theft. Do you know by having an automated clocking machine your workers automatically know they have to come early to office. Do you know by having a proper electronic voting system that you can make your wrong leaders become right? Do you know by introducing a system that checks and balances your wrong leaders will automatically become probably right leaders. We have to rewrite our Constitution and our laws to address the 21st century challenges... So my friend the issue is not about voting the right leaders or me running for office...I hope you understand |

kikero: Yes, but when they ask you Nigerians to pay the amount of money in taxes needed to pay to clean the city, you people will complain that they want to chop your money.
British cities are very clean. The average Brit pays council taxes of at least 120 pounds...54,900 naira monthly...which pays for cleaning facilities.
Edo state has a budget of 470million dollars for this year. Pennsylvania, USA is spending 78 billion dollars this year. And you expect Pennsylvania and Canada level cleanliness from 470million dollars.?? how can you pay taxes when every 4 years you hear they budget millions to buy cars for themselves? You are converting the currency as if the cost of renting a house in US or UK is same as EDO state...Stop supporting rubbish |

Yenefer: This whole coronahoax is just a test run to see what they can get away with. Judging by the peoples reactions so far....the deep state has us by the short and curlies. And they know it.
ever heard of H1N1. It was 100 times worse and no one noticed. This virus is real but the severity of the situation has been blown way out of proportion for political reasons. The constitution was too much trouble and needed to be scrapped. They have succeeded.
Crazy world we are living in right now. Almost makes you wonder if something else isn’t brewing while everyone is preoccupied with this Coronavirus.
That is precisely what all of us should be thinking. Coronavirus isn't what it seems; the timing is too convenient and the numbers don't wash. Follow the timeline, the locations, places most affected, and you'll start to see the picture. Some of it is connected to the Epstein/Weinstein/Clinton/Winfrey (YES! WINFREY) sex-trafficking ring. Weinstein was recently sentenced to 55 years for perving on CONSENTING women and his sentence was reduced to 23 years as the result of a plea deal. Following his sentencing, several billionaire CEO's have resigned and multiple celebrities and politicians have suddenly "contracted the virus." There will be more resignations, more sudden (and convenient) celebrity/politician infections in an effort to save face. 600 people were recently arrested in a sex trafficking/corruption investigation that has spanned nearly 20 years. On the other side of the coin, the data doesn't add up. We have no way to confirm the number of infections and deaths the media is reporting. Just as China has completely manufactured the nature of the virus and their recovery, the government and media are deliberately fabricating the number of infections and deaths to push for a "vaccine" that will actually cause more sickness and death than their supposed virus (which wasn't a virus). Understand this: the vaccine is the actual goal, not curbing the virus. The media is deliberately strewing the data and drumming up public hysteria to push this goal forward. Do some research on 5G frequencies and their effect on the human body, and you'll see China's "virus." Wake up, people. We are witnessing one of the largest scale False Flag psy-ops we've seen in decades. More than 50,000 die from influenza each year and the media is completely silent yet, the entire nation is facing imminent lockdown and the media is pimping hysteria non-stop over a virus with a 98% recovery rate, with zero evidence to support their data. If you're not smelling something fishy by now, you need your heads examined. Stop listening to the media. Turn off your tv, put down the phone, and stop falling for the lie we're being fed. It's NOT a pandemic! Wait till you die from it...... |

voltron14: Not true.
You cannot quarantine all incoming travelers.
The best you can do is request they self-isolate and institute a fine should they be found outside.
No country would quarantine thousands of incoming visitors - none.
Yoi either close your borders or suggest self-isolation.
You only quarantine confirmed cases. Why would a government wait till now before acting? Is it that they have not been watching news media around the world? Countries with better resources are struggling to contain the spread and they are even budgeting trillion of dollars to give as free money to citizens to alleviate their plight. A reasonable government should have acted earlier not wait till march 23 before closing the airport. |
