Waoh. I can imagine the anxiety and all that.
Congratulations.

Vivacious2:
PPRRRRRRRRRR IS HERE O

It can only be God. After 10 months and 19 days.

This is my story:

IELTS- 3 times . I passed on the 3rd attempt

ITA- Jan 18

AOR- March 25

ADR- 3 times for ECA- IRCC was not able to verify my IQAS on their own system.
On my ADR third request, I finally had to request for another copy of my
IQAS to be sent to IRCC again and I also faxed it

MEP May 1
IP2- I went to IP2 same day

No movement, I applied for GCMS note in July and got it early August. That was when I knew my visa office. Criminality for hubby was is in process since Apr 30 and had not started for me.

Eligibility and security checks had not been initiated either. In August I raised CSE to ask about my application. A summary of their response below:

We verified the information you provided and are pleased to inform you that everything appears to be in order with your application. All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

September 1st week, I raised another CSE, now to London VO to ask about my file and on September 19 I got an email from Kyiv VO saying- Your file has been transferred to our office for further processing. Kindly note that files are processed based on original reception date. I was sad and happy at the same time. At least there was movement. September 25 we passed the 180 days application processing timelines.

October 24, I mailed the office of Goodale, Ralph E. - M.P. I got the mail on their official website. I just googled. I did this because I have read on various platforms that they mail him blah blah. Anyway, I just said to myself it is worth a try. At least he will tell me something and it will let me know whether there was any movement on my file. I didn’t say in my mail where my visa office was so that I could confirm that his office actually checked it. That same day, they replied and I got the same information/ status on my GCMS note. My file had not been touched. The only difference was that he mentioned that my file was in Kyiv.

Two days after I got the 2 Do Not Reply email in my account in the morning. I thought it was the same mail so I opened the recent one – It was an ADR for Updated financial documents. The letter says I should disregard the letter for passport request that the correct one was an additional document required. I was still trying to understand whether they sent a PPR mail and I didn’t see it. Then after few seconds, I got another mail from my visa office in Kyiv – Please find attached the letter concerning your application for permanent residence in Canada. This is the correct letter which was sent to you via My CIC account as well.

It was the next day I realise that the 1st mail was a letter saying my visa was ready to be issued.

Quickly, we got right into work to get our documents. On October 30, we uploaded.

We waited and waited and waited

January -3rd GCMS note
Eligibility passed.
Criminality still in progress for Spouse
Part of Updated financial document was verified with Pension Company.

February 7
Added to POF (statement from another account) because we thought they might have a problem with the buffer from the pension (N500,000)

Today at 3.10pm, it was the correct PPR mail. .

Truly the journey was not easy but God made it come true.
Sorry for all the typos. Abeg I am too excited

For everyone waiting at one stage or the other, God will make your dream come true, AMEN!!

abakiki:
PPR don show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To all my AVO brethren, I dedicate this PPR to you!!!

One thing I have learnt in this PR journey is that procrastination is very costly. Just do it now!!

A brief summary of my timeline:
Category: FSW (PNP)
AOR: May 31, 2018
IP2: Jan 17, 2019
PPR: Feb 06, 2019 @ 9:58am
VO: Accra

Full details below:

ECA & IELTS
I started this journey in 2017, the year when scores dipped to 419. After checking my scores via CRS calculator online and coming to 437, I started the ECA process in May 2017. The plan was to evaluate my B.Sc and Master degree with IQAS. Unfortunately, I did not know then that you could evaluate only the Master degree. I requested for my Master degree transcript and it got to IQAS in about three weeks but my Bsc transcript took almost 5 months to get to IQAS (that one na another long story. ASUU strike et al). I saw IQAS go from processing files in less than a month , to almost 3 months while I was still waiting for Bsc to get there. Anyways, I finally got my ECA finalized in Jan 2018. In the meantime, while I waited for my credentials to be evaluated, I prepared and wrote the IELTS exam in September 2017 and aced it the first time. By the time my ECA and IELTS were ready for me to create an online profile in Jan 2018, scores had soared. 437 was no longer enough to get me a direct ITA.

Nomination from Ontario:
As God would have it, I got NOI from Ontario in Feb 2018. Less than one week after I received the NOI, I celebrated my Birthday and my score went down to 432. I nearly refused the NOI from Ontario cos I believed scores would come down in 2018 and I wasn't willing to spend cad $1,500 for the processing fee. Thank God I listened to sound advise and accepted. I got nomination from Ontario in May 2018 and got ITA in the next draw. The required docs for submission were already available as the same docs were used for OINP. I submitted my application May 31, 2018.

Post ITA:
Am an HR professional and since my destination is Ontario, I wrote to the HR governing body (HRPA) and started the process of getting certified while I waited for PPR. Never knew I would finish the whole process and PPR would still not have come, all thanks to AVO. I had to write series of exams in Accra as the HR exams are not written here in Nigeria. I wrote the first exam in Nov 2018, passed and was cleared to write the final exam in Jan 2019 (I am awaiting the result). It was a great distraction as AVO no just send us at all. We all know the AVO story so will not bore you. Anyways, After more than 8 months of waiting I saw my file move to IP2 on 17 Jan, 2019 and PPR came Feb 06, 2019.

To everyone still waiting for their files to be approved and especially to AVO members, hold on, It's on the way.

God Bless!

NO AGENT OR LAWYER WILL HELP YOUR FRIEND SORT OUT THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THIS PROCESS(IELTS/ECA). NEITHER WILL THE AGENT PROVIDE THE INEVITABLE POF.

AS FOR YOUR DISCLAIMER, PAGE ONE IS NO DEATH SENTENCE. MARRY IT IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A SEAMLESS TRIP ON THIS JOURNEY.

snoop4dem:
Hey Guys,

I have a friend who is trying to come to Canada. He doesn't wanna do it himself as he wants an agent or lawyer help him process his documents et all. Is anyone able to suggest an agent or lawyer I can recommend for him.

Disclaimer: Please dont try to respond by telling me to convince him to do it himself or read page 1 and the likes as that option is off the table. I promised I was gonna reach out and find out if there is anyone using an agent or an immigration lawyer et all is why I am asking for him

All the best.

Good morning all!

My own morning is not good at all. I have been anxious since yesterday, awaiting release of 19th January IELTS result that my husband partook in. I have just checked this morning, and I'm really sad.

L - 5.5
R - 5.5
W - 6
S- 7

Unfortunately, the scores will make us drop to 436 in crs.

Getting him to write this test was like moving a mountain, my birthday also coming in June. I just hope he will agree to re-writing this test, otherwise, OYO might be my case.

May God help me!

Majesticniyi:

To God be the glory for the the great thing He does.
The whole story started early 2017. My work is shift based and tends to be monotonous hence, I tend to join various WhatsApp groups to pass time especially on night shift. I cant even remember how I came to join an Ielts group. All I know is one day, someone dropped the link to the Canada group and I joined not knowing what it was all about. I was just existing till I voiced one out day to ask what the whole thing is about and an angel came into my PC and broke it all down to pieces. God bless you Dami *twales for her*

IELTS: This was the first step I took. I somehow didn’t believe all these was for real but I had cash to spare. I was studying basically to see if I could pass it and then go on to other processes. Went on leave at work, secluded myself in a suburb part of Abeokuta and studied like I was crazy. For upcoming test takers, please avoid naysayers and pessimists who keep ringing failure into your head. It is a difficult exam, no doubt but those wey pass am no get two heads. Stay positive and focused. If you didn’t make it at first, try again but firstly analyze why you didn’t get it and study hard to overcome the difficulty. IELTS really needs practice and study!

ECA: This was the part where I got stuck. I was single then and so evaluated my BSc alone. It was a smooth journey with UI an I was done in record time. I jumped into the pool with a CRS of 438 in the later part of the year. I didn’t bother evaluating my OND as 438 was a great score then….till I jumped into the pool late November and IRCC decided to finish me by having draws of 440+. See me see wahala *lol*. I stalled till I gave up and eventually evaluated my OND. This decision was even more important as I was about getting married and I didn’t want to add wifey later (read scary stories online of how those who did and got delayed). Wifey evaluated her BSc too and gbam, CRS of 447 eventually by July 2018.

Medical: This was the scariest part of the application to me. Something kept telling me I have HIV and I would not pass medical. Omoh, I became a legend on medical inadmissibility. I downloaded so much materials, I can successfully be employed as a Canada Health official. Eventually, I passed. By the way, I work in a food processing company and I do quarterly food handlers test so I should have known I was safe anyway. More so, the new threshold makes it even less complicated for people with health issues

POF: Advice for those who let this pull them back; learn to trust God. He opens doors for those who are hungry enough to continually knock. Getting POF was a miracle for me. I used 25% of pension funds, fixed an amount for six months and added my bank statement. The case review agent eventually added even the money in the account to my POF even though I didn’t list it in my LOE. By the way, an higher exchange rate than I used was employed in calculating my POF so it was way too much than I anticipated. I got to know this because I ordered GCMS note last month

GCMS NOTE: I ordered out of frustration when it seemed nothing was ongoing on my file despite eligibility haven started early October (knew this by calling). Eligibility was still being reviewed even as at last week Monday when I called. Eligibility was passed and security done between then and yesterday when I got ghost update.

Lastly, someone said prayer is useless on this journey. To each nan his own but I know the 21 days prayer and fasting just concluded by the Winners Family gave me strength, hope and made things happen. God indeed works miracles…me wey never even go Ghana before just get access to Canada goodies cheaply like this.

Note to The Professor, abeg na joke say I wan make you jealous oh. I don’t even know how I passed my writing test fah. Mark me well oh, biko.

Lagos, here I am….

Thanks to all well wishers. May good news never cease in our dwelling

I had started this process in 2013 when it was paper based but somehow didn't follow through

Fast forward to April 2017 when I and my sister decided to convince our husbands to come on this journey..... We researched as best as we could

As for me sha I didn't tell hubby the full financially implication just told him let's write ielts first thn our eca....like that like that until I told him about POF and applications fees , u need to see how big his eye got (hehehehe) .....thats how we got here... One hurdle at a time

POF. 3 TB bought at different times invested for 6months then used both my n hubby's pension to complete the POF and also buffer just incase

IELTS. On my first attempt I didn't know of 8777 and by the time I found out about remarking it was too late

ECA started eca in Nov 2017 until strike happened used Wes for myself and iqas for hubby (lawyer) . Once I got my eca I created my profile I added hubby's eca at E-APR then Crs became 459

After adr for rprf I was pretty sure I would see my ppr soon..... Oh boy was I wrong ........SILENCE........
Ordered gcms notes in November which I'm yet to recieve till date

Finally decided to Call IRCC on 28th January (Monday) loaded my phone with credit and kept calling but I couldn't get to speak to an agent until about 10pm our time tgen I was put on hold for 28mins and finally could talk to an agent, she said eligibility recommended pass, criminality in progress and security not started

30th before I went to bed I saw an update on my profile " we are reviewing the additional documents you provided " since Oct to "not applicable "......and I'm like at least someone is finally looking at my file

Only for hubby to wake me up this morning with his phone in my face whispering " it has come, it has come "
I guess he was whispering because he knew my shout and dance will cover for his lack thereof

31st January ppr (dated 30th)

Thank you nairaland for the wealth of information here
@Newmum!!!!! You didn't know me but I sent you a mail and you responded and helped me....... God bless you tremendously

Single applicant.

Decision to relocate – I’ve never really wanted to relocate; my wish was to have enough money to travel whenever and wherever I wanted. My brother left for Canada with his family in 2015 via the old scheme and before he left, he said to me, you need to get out. He sent me links, but I never really looked at them. I kept giving excuses until we got a mail in the office about an impending retrenchment exercise, still I didn’t do anything. My job finally ended October 2017 and I traveled to my school in November to process my transcript.

IELTS – I wasn’t afraid of the exam, in fact my main motivation was to score higher than my brother (sibling rivalry things). I’m not much of a talker and I knew I stood no chance with my brother in the speaking test. I decided that I was going to beat him in the other sections and have a higher average, but it was never to be. I started with writing task 1 and it was great. As I was writing my concluding paragraph in task 2 a bell went off in my head, I had written a whole four paragraph essay on something different form the question . From a distance I heard, ten minutes more as the sweat started leaking out from my braided wig cry. What in the world would have made me make this type of mistake? I don’t use the cramming method when studying, so it wasn’t a case of copy and paste. I studied more about the techniques of writing IELTS and what the examiner expects, then just a few practice questions. Except the Listening test which I found exciting to practice, it felt like putting together pieces of a puzzle. Anyway, as the sound of the bells in my head calmed a bit, I looked at the question again and started writing down points to expand into paragraphs. The I remembered how long it took me to decide on a topic sentence for my introduction and saw that writing a fresh essay will be a futile effort. I settled for giving a great conclusion to the essay I had already written and hope for the best.
It was while I was doing a search about low IELTS score that I came across this thread. I then knew I had to also evaluate my master’s degree to make a good CRS point.
Study materials; IELTSLiz, Road to IELTS (BC) and I also did a free IELTS course on Edx.

ECA – I used WES. I hadn’t looked at the express entry process in detail, so I felt I could just use only my first degree. That was before the IELTS incident. Besides I have plans to continue a career with my first degree as my master’s degree is in a completely different field.
My ECA report came with a comment that the date of birth on my transcript was different form what I filled in my form. My school had increased my age by four years! shocked The excitement of getting my ECA just died when I saw the comment. I wrote to WES via the contact form and twitter. I also faxed copies of my birth certificate, WAEC certificate, international passport and even national ID card, all showing my correct date of birth. WES replied me after one month saying my school must resend my transcript with the correct information before they can send me an updated ECA report. Thanks to the good people I spoke with who assured me that I could go ahead and use the report like that. So, while I waited for WES to respond, I had gotten ITA and submitted my application. After seeing their response, I was glad I didn’t wait a whole month to continue with the process. In my application I attached all the documents I sent to WES to prove my correct date of birth and explained the mistake.

PCC – Superintendent Moshood to the rescue.

Medicals – this was done at IOM and I requested for a copy of my result which was sent via email

POF – One good thing that came from my retrenchment was my pay off grin. I changed it to dollars and put in a domiciliary account, I wanted to make it less accessible to me and avoid exchange rate issues.

NOC – I spent two months trying to find a matching NOC for my last job role to no avail. I shared it on the thread but couldn’t find a code for it. Following Newmum0615’s advise I decided to use my previous job role as my primary NOC since it spanned over three years.
Visa refusals – I had two UK visa refusals which I mentioned and attached one of the rejection letters. I was concerned about this because the reason for the second refusal had to do with the VO doubting my employment details. And the same job turned out to be the one I couldn’t find a NOC for. My fear was that It would give more weight to the UK VO’s comments. So, I got a reference letter from my company even though I no longer worked there. I also wrote a LOE addressing the comments by the UK VO and attached other documents relating to the said job.

Others – After I got my first GCMS notes and saw that the issue about my date of birth was not mentioned, I felt relieved.
- I called a couple of times before November 2018, since that time I haven’t been able to reach IRCC.
- I also sent a couple of mails to Ottawa VO and they always gave the same generic response.
- I sent a mail on the 24th after the ghost update to enquire what the update was about, and I got the passport request mail the next morning
- Losing my job was the wake up call I needed. I was depressed for some months (still comes and goes) and I would lie in bed until noon. I have always been independent so losing my job was like being stripped naked, I didn’t want to go out or be seen. My younger brother called me and encouraged me to continue with the Canada immigration plan (I had already registered with WES). I will never forget his words, approach this thing like you’re escaping for your life, like someone is trying to strangle you and you must fight. My ECA took eight months to complete and anytime I would return from Unilag or call IMSU without any positive news, I would just break down and cry. I was and I’m still out of job, my savings depleting and I always have this fear of having to ask for money to sustain myself.
I can’t thank God enough for this new lease on life he has just given me. It still feels like a dream and sometimes I check my mailbox to see if the email is still there. God never disappoints and his timing is always perfect and the best. I was worried about having to renew my rent soon, and I can imagine God smiling down and saying, my daughter you too worry! Cast your cares on him and have faith (not easy but doable).
I am grateful to 40manlappy, Newmum0615, ddymples and Hakeemgp for their help and suggestions. Especially Newmum for her patience. May God grant all your heart’s desires.
I appreciate everyone on this thread for all the contributions, whether na fight, joke or information. I want to specially mention joo2018, Ifeoma77 and Tojued, you guys are great!
For everyone here who feels like there’s no hope, I went from asking God “why me?’ sad to proclaiming “who am I Lord!” cheesy

Just keep the faith!

And some others: I was worried about how I would tell my parents, especially my mum about my approval. My younger brother left the country first, then my older brother (she was greatly affected by that one), now her only remaining child here (plus only daughter kwa), me. I know she wants the best for us but would prefer us being in proximity to them. So, I called my mum yesterday and told her;
Mum: (shouting for joy) ehen remember you promised to take me out when you get approval. I want to go to Jevinik. grin
Me: Jisos! shocked mummy I thought you’d be sad. (disappointed but relieved)
Mum: I’m sad you’ll be leaving but I know better now. This country holds no hope for you, look at how long you’ve been out of job. Go and find something new, just do my visa for me.

I am currently filling visa applications for them

Congratulations bro. I am religious, so i pray for this kind of processing grace too.

Shyee:
Hallelujah, For the Lord God Omnipotent, HE reigneth.

Guys, it’s PEE PEE AAAAARRRRRR.

While I don’t yet know if this post will be long or otherwise, I will endeavour to share this testimony, not for the anxiety of @raphrulz scoring it, but for those who would benefit from it.

Yesterday morning, my phone fell and had a screen problem, I might have done this earlier and more conveniently on it, but PC is not bad either. Thank GOD.

DECISION to travel has always been there, I could remember way before I gained admission into Tertiary institution, various dreams, various wishes, various prayers and the likes. How could this be, parents could only try their best by giving us Nigerian education. Finished M.Sc in 2013, worked as a pseudo-manager in a private firm for 12k, left the place, got another teaching job for 12k… well, God has a plan.
I knew about Express Entry in 2014, I was single then, and my score was 413. ECA with WES took months( I don’t remember exact months), my 2015 IELTS was L7.5 R7 W7 S7.5, I didn’t know about 8777 then, so I paused pursuing the dream and focused on self-employment and marital.

ECA: I could say my ECA was smooth, though it took some time. Spouse’s ECA with WES started since 2015, and till date, it’s not ready. So many problems with Nursing council and WES up and down. I was left with 3 options, GO spouse unaccompanying; Use IQAS; or ICES. I asked the question here if anyone had used ICES for evaluating RN before, I was challenged by a ‘grumpysenrudy’ fellow (Thanks, mate!) to be the first to try it, I did and it came out positive, in fact I almost paid for IQAS too… Ever heard of ‘Penny wise, Pound Foolish’?; I believe Canada is worth all the effing money in my case, anyway.
Registered for ICES in August, result came out after 40 days. If we had used IQAS, maybe we’d just receive ITA in the last 443 draw, because we were at 444.

IELTS Well, after learning I had to aim at 8777, I prepared very well for the Listening and Reading part, I wrote in June 2018, and I had L8.5 R9 W7 S7.5. With this score CRS was at 462 as a single applicant, and 435 as accompanied (without spouse’s ECA), she didn’t write IELTS at last because her ITA came before we could register her. Thank God!

ITA my first ITA came in July, I was among those that had the last batch of 90 days to submit, expecting my spouse’s ECA, 90 days elapsed on September 22nd, her ECA came in September 25th. I also remember many people(myself inclusive) aimed at submitting their application before the introduction of Biometrics in July, Biometrics turned out to be a Blessing in disguise… I suppose it fastens the process.
Got another ITA that same week with spouse not accompanying CRS score of 462, but the cut-off was 449, had to decline it on its Friday and got a surprise draw the following Monday(October 15th) at 440. Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus.,

POF was 100% gift from my dad. Didn’t notarise it, but we, mum inclusive signed across #20 seal each. I opened a new account entirely for this, after the gift entered, I bought Treasury Bills, submitted the paper they call certificate and statement of account for the new account. Didn’t submit any other statement of account.

WORK EXPERIENCE I am self-employed, I repair computers, printers etc and 2 days ago, I repaired my LCD TV( I think im handy). I submitted reference letters from 6 customers and 8 receipts. I couldn’t even get receipts for some of those who wrote reference letters for me, I was worried here, yet I didn’t want to manipulate things. Many of the reference letters were handwritten with customers phone numbers and email addresses, of course, they stated I was paid in cash. I don’t think IRCC called any of them though.
I had to monitor one of my references email, in case something important comes in.
No travel history.

I finished filling the eAPR on Thursday, couldn’t submit till Saturday.

ADR Pre-ITA I allowed a cousin of mine to have access to my file, but I changed to not granted during eAPR all in a bid not to complicate things, instead of MEP on november 25, I got IMM5475e ADR which I submitted same day, got BIL and MEP the following day, and I completed Biometrics the following day, November 28th. In the ADR, I again granted the cousin access to my file .
If you are in the pre-ITA or eAPR stage, try to maintain same information and fill this IMM5475e form if you want to allow or disallow a third party access to your file.

LAGOS We hail thee Lagosians, For you are rugged Nigerians, Come sunshine Come rain, Thine traffic and weather are as they are. Well, let say madam and son didn’t really enjoy the heat and mosquitoes. Thine mosquitoes are stubborn, as the insecticide dies down, the mosquiteos are back. Well, maybe my location sha. #lipSealed

SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES I updated my facebook, Linkedin and twitter account to tally with what I do and submitted to IRCC. LinkdedIn account was checked by two different people in ghost mode, and 1 or 2 checks by unknown seemingly Nigerians.

I appreciate Praying parents, praying in-laws, praying cousins and a good friend. We’re just lucky.
All in all, Glory to the Father, Glory to the Son, Glory to the Holy Ghost, Glory Hallelujah.

Thanks to Nairaland and this thread from part 1. From the days of Dupysoo, JesusDWay, Damkollins etc to Newmum, Joo, sms2live, ifeoma, vickyehi... you guys are numerous to mention... Kudos to you guys that always got our backs.

Everything you need about POF and other information is on page 1. Piecemeal questions and answers will confuse you more than helping.

kentoski:

It ended in praise indeed. I hope you can find time to help me with a few clarifications.

Could you please explain the gifting thing for the POF, I'm really lost here, or please direct me to where I can read about it, thank you.

IN THE DAY’S OF IGNORANCE!
I started this process not knowing that there were other ECA bodies aside WES! I had already paid WES before I discovered that all I would get from my LLB was “Bachelors Degree equivalent”. I wasn’t sure if that was good enough, then it occurred to me to consult nairaland (God bless the founding fathers of this thread). After weighing my options, I decided to arrange for my law school transcript to be sent to WES as well so I could at least claim 2 or more. My undergrad school kept saying that they did not receive WES verification until they finally did after 7weeks! When it was time for Nigerian law school to verify, they said their internet was broken (whatever that means) I had to pay extra 10k for paper mailing.

IELTS
I didn’t have enough time to study for IELTS because of my job. But I was able to do some listening and reading exercises. I also tried writing on the task 2 paper to see what 250 words should look like. (Tip was from newmum0615)
Did IELTS June 2, 2018 and results were 8.5, 9, 7.5, 7.5

I couldn’t enter the pool because ECA. On August 30, 2018, ECA landed. LLB = 4yr Bachelors Degree equivalent, Law School = 1 year Post Graduate Diploma.
Without much ado, I plunged into the pool - head first - with a CRS of 474.

POF
I got 2 bank reference letters, one was in the required format; the other, not quite but I didn’t care much. No account statements!

PCC
I paid 17k for my Nigerian PCC!
The police man scanned the documents to me in color, I affixed my fingerprints and scanned back to him with copies of my passport photo and passport document data page. FBI PCC was a breeze.

MEDICALS:
I paid $375USD for My medicals! Insurance no dey gree cover immigration medicals. I was emailed my medical report in 2days.

TICK…TOCK…
I submitted my application on September 14, 2018 when my passport had about one-month validity. I had already requested a new one though so I raised a CSE when it arrived.
So, I thought I would receive PPR within 3 weeks because people have been preaching that US residents get faster processing times. But I waited, and waited, and waited – for PPR. After a few weeks, I became agitated upon realizing that I did not state my internship experience with a US Federal Government agency. I read of how people were refused because they failed to declare past or current work history. I quickly raised a CSE before my village people will reach my file before me.
When I received my RPRF, I thought that PPR was near, na lie! I waited again, and again, and again! People with later AOR dates were getting PPR left, right and center, yet US residents were not moving (per immitracker).

HUSTLE YOUR OWN PPR!

After I got the two ghost updates, I called IRCC on January 7, and was told my file had been approved but that it might take a little more time for me to receive the PPR email. At that time, I had read how people were hustling their own PPR from NDVO, I quickly joined the hustle and in less than 24hrs, I got my own PPR. (By the way, I think NDVO has stopped that benevolence). I requested a change of VFS to submit my passport but received no response in that regard.

After waiting for some days, I sha submitted my passport with my local VAC and the rest is history!

PS: Application was on IP2 from AOR to PPR and file never left the CIO.

I want to thank this family for the selflessness and love that radiates all corners of this thread. Despite the fights that occur at intervals, we all know that “what binds us together is stronger than what pulls us apart” per Obama POTUS (as he then was).

And those to whom this may matter: Do not start this journey on your own accord, but “…in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall (it’s a certainty) direct your path”. Wherever you are encountering difficulties, do not hesitate to ask God for the wisdom to surmount the obstacles because He gives (wisdom) to all men generously! (James 1:5). Never forget that to an infinite God, all finites are equal. And when Jesus walked out of that tomb, impossibility became an illusion!

My people, this PPR is a sweet feeling ooo, I've been smiling all day grin

Timeline

Decision to travel was in April 2018.
Family of 4
IELTS July 2018 LSRW 8877
WES September 2018
CRS 454
ITA 3 October
AOR 6 November
MEP/BIL 11 December
Visa Office No idea
PPR 22 January 2019 (dated 21 January 2019), letter didnt specify VFS location for submission

My husband and I registered for IELTS in April 2018; when the results were released, I had LSWR 7.5,8,7,9. I hurriedly calculated our scores and after several permutations, realised that its only having an 8 in listening that will give us a chance - I had not come across this thread then. I was pregnant and wasn't motivated to rewrite the exam. Then I came across this thread shortly afterwards and discovered i could even claim two or more certificates with my BSc and AAT from ICAN...imagine my joy.

I was instantly motivated and registered for another IELTS in July, I was heavily pregnant then. That day of the exam ehn...I sobbed quietly on my seat because the map section was just crazy. When the results were released, I had an 8 in listening...mhen i was overjoyed.

WES completed my evaluation in September; however, Lautech till now has not sent my husband's transcript so no evaluation for him. Thankfully he has a brother in Canada so we were able to get 15 points from him.

I had my baby shortly before ITA so we were able to include her in the application. We applied for her passport after ITA. See drama that day...she refused to open her eyes for a long time that day...eventually she did and we got the passport a couple of days later.

I booked an appointment with Qlife the day we got our ITA and was able to get an appointment for November 5. This was what delayed our AOR, really....all other documents were ready, thanks to this thread. Inspector Fatai came to the hospital to get our details for the PCC and delivered them to our house that same evening.

POF was Axa Mansard mutual funds and an education savings plan with Mutual Benefits

Reference letter was from my former place of work, where I spent over 5 years.

Travel history, I'm not sure if it's extensive...been to South Africa, London, Ghana, US and Dubai. I didn't need PCC for any.

As led by the Holy Spirit, my husband had a conviction that our PPR will come this week and it came. No ADR, no ghost update, just an email from CIC...so my people, if prayer works for you, please pray. My lips were filled with songs of thanksgiving this morning, I danced and danced because God's Word is true.

Thanks everyone for your contributions on this thread. I wish everyone still awaiting good news in this process all the best, God will meet you at the point of need in Jesus name. Amen

Its PPR!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I don join oh!
Thank you Jesus!
You are indeed a faithful God, even in our unfaithfulness!

This whole journey started around September, 2017. Did my first international pp. Started WES registration and didn't continue. Lost the zeal and moved on!
In March 2018, I picked interest and decided to start with ielts. Took 2mths to convince hubby( with prayers o). By May we registered for ielts for a July date cos I needed 1whole mth+ to read and get ready! We took the test and got good scores at one sitting!

The journey to and fro IMSU started for ECA, using WES, we missed the waec palaver by 1wk,(God at work). ECA got ready at the end of September.

Profile was created with crs of 444. We expected ITA at the October 3 draw, but God had other plans, and it was cut at 445. We had booked medicals at IOM, Abuja for October 8. We thought of cancelling and rebooking.
(Those of you who live in Abuja and Lagos don't know what we go through). We went ahead on a journey of faith, to Abuja not knowing what the next draw would be! On the 15th a Monday draw was held and BOOM, ITA landed!

Everything was ready!
2work reference letters in CIC format.
Bank reference letter
Gift deed from my mum
Deed of sale
2FD certificates.
PCC
Medical form
Passports
Affidavit of name change
Education documents!

Payment made and AOR received immediately!
The wait started,
First mail 28days,later an ADR, labelled schedule A, asking for more info on my background for a certain period! ( Didn't know BC had started)! I filled and submitted same day.
3days after MEP &BIL landed.
Another travel to Abuja for biometrics, hmmmm, not easy at all!

85 days after AOR Ghost update showed,
And after 88days came the golden mail!

May HIS name be praised!

JULY 7th IELTS L8.5,R8.5,S7,W7.5
ECA September 26
CRS 444
ITA October 15, Monday.
AOR 0ctober 18
IP2; from AOR, not sure though
ADR November 16, Schedule A for background info.
MEP & BIL November 19
BIL submitted November 23.
Ghost update January 13
PPR January 14!

Thank you Jesus!
Receive all praise Oh Lord!

My mail did state we should submit to any visa office, hope that is not a problem. I don't know if anybody has submitted via courier. I would like to seek advice and guidance as the info on their website is not very clear.
Thanks

Okay here we go!

IELTS - 1st Feb 2018 (L8.5 R9 W6.5 S7), ordered for a remark and it came out as L8.5 R9 W7 S7.5 - I used the Cambridge books shared on this forum. Wifey did not write

ECA - 25th July 2018 (I missed ITA on this day cos ECA came out around 2:30pm). Wifey's ECA was very fast though.

ITA - 8th August 2018

Biometric Request - 24th October, Completed 29th October

Medical Passes - 2nd Nov. 2018

PPR - 5:58pm 15th January 2019

Story in Full

I was never a fan of leaving Nigeria until October 2014, when I just relocated to Abuja. I was in one of my paddy's house and heard him discussing with his aunt about FSWP. I picked interest suddenly and then joined him nah so we start. We were mis-informed then that we would have to get a Canadian Immigration lawyer to be able to scale through. So we employed Abrams & krochak and started paying those guys oh. We spent about 1.3m individually and nothing came out of it. Our ECA came out after about 6 months with ICAS Canada. When Abrams started asking for money payment, I just jejely told my fried that I quit, cos for about a year, we were busy completing one single form oh, we will fill it and he will send it back that we have to re-fill. This went on for like 4 times so I got tired and decided to let it go.

Fast forwarded to 2016, I started thinking about leaving this country again and was introduced to the US study VISA thread. I started following the thread, and by April 2016, I had registered to write GRE for PhD study in the US. The result came out but was not enough to get me an admission with funding, a total of 297 (V:150, Q147 & AW: 4.0). At this time I was advised from the forum to write TOEFL (another test of English I had been running away from) as that would boost my chances of getting funding. I wrote and scored 97, but then, it got me admission in 2 schools but no funding. I quit again as I had no means of raising fund to study for PhD degree.

But in January 2017, My new year resolution was to ensure I do everything humanly possible to relocate from this Naija. then I started following this thread but only during my most free periods, so I was not really concentrating. It then made the whole process look too tough for me to complete, though I was not scared of IELTS any longer since I had written TOEFL already. So I could not start.

Then the next month I stumbled on the Canadian Study VISA thread as I was already stylishly eyeing Canadian Schools. I applied to UAlberta, UofT, and two other schools, In short, I got MBA admission into Rotman's Business School but yet no funding.

Then by October 2017, I told wifey I was not interested anymore and came back to this thread oh, she tried convincing me to stick to one plan as it wasn't good the way I have been jumping from one to another without seeing it through. By that time some of the people I was reading their post had gotten COPR and I was still yet to start. I then started with ECA, and the rest was history

ITA
I missed the draw of July 25th Because my ECA report came in that same morning and I was on my way to Lagos from Abuja by road, Nah so network fail me oh. e pain me die as I missed ITA just with 12 mins

POF - Family of 4; I used 100% Gift Deed and also supported it with my Pension Certificate. I fixed the fund for two months and had to roll over three times, the last one being just last Friday and the confirmation mail came in just 20mins before the PPR mail grin I also submitted my six months salary account statements even though shingbain no dey inside. buhahahahahaha

LETTER OF EXPERIENCE
I got letters from my last employer only and didn't bother to include the current employer since I had only spend barely two months at that time. I also did and LOE to explain this part. the LOE also covered name issue on wifey and first son's passport, together with their 'same and one person' affidavit.

Medicals - (My greatest challenge even though I knew many people scaled through this) I had ADR for additional test due to my HBV status and that delayed a bit until 2nd November before I could pass medicals. The request came actually before AOR cos our medicals was upfront at Consultants Practice, but was not ready until after Biometric request as because I was using one very meticulous Gastro from Lagos Island General Hospital.

This is the end of my Story ooooh cool

Oya, Prof Ralph, come and give me my 10/10....I cannot coman go an kee myself

But before I leave, I wish to sincerely appreciate everyone on this thread especially @Newmum, Chai... That lady unknowingly did a lot for me on this journey. At a time, I was only interested in whatever she writes cos they were always addressing my issues directly then. May God in his infinite mercies continue to bless her and everyone on this journey, both the landed seniors, newly approved and the Jambites among us.

We will all have a a reason to laugh last by the special grace of God. I am happy today because God has crowned all my long time effort and it has finally ENDED IN PRAISE. cheesy

Once again I thank God and I am thanking everyone here.

PEACE!!!

Guys, before spending money on any PGD Program to increase your CRS, make sure it's a Program that will be positively evaluated by the body you will be submitting your credentials to. I know somebody whose Postgraduate Diploma from Nigeria Institute of Journalism was not positively evaluated by WES.

Only soiled hands roam around the internet looking for the kind of hubris you dumped here as advice.
You are not aspiring to go to a jungle, but a developed society where you can only temporary run from the law if you have crime baggages. Fix yourself and have rest of mind as you proceed with this journey.
Fellow Nigerians here or outside will have nothing on you, if you are upright.

You're entitled to your opinion. So am I. But why do I have this feeling that you're in that class of "concerned Nigerians"?

MsDee29:
Guys, It's PPRRRRRRR!!!

*Timeline*

AOR: July 3
MEP: July 18
IP1: July 18
IP2: October 29
PPR: January 9/10 2019
VO: Ottawa
Single Applicant

The journey started for me in January 2018 and was really seamless until I got stuck in IP2 at a time when people from my VO were moving from IP2 to PPR at the speed of light.

I kept thinking up all sorts of bad scenarios as the cause for the delay from a VO that was supposed to be really fast.

I tried calling a couple of times but couldn't reach an agent but I struck gold one day in December and I was informed my file had been approved and I will hear from them soon; then there was silence...

I heard about people sending mail to NDVO and decided to give it a shot and it paid off with PPR on January 9th. I sent a mail to rectify country for submission same day and got a corrected passport request mail today...

Morale of the story... Delay is not denial and seasons differ. I hope this encourages someone.

Congrats to all ITA and PPR grabbers. And thanks to everyone for the wealth of information here
