Please do not book that flight, I made the same mistake 4 weeks ago and luckily later got to know that a visa would be required when I visited lufthansa's office. I've had to book another flight for next month when I was supposed to land on the 23rd of August.
If you book it you would need a regular schengen visa not a transit visa. As travel between 2 schengen states is deemed a local flight.
Best wishes.

I submitted mine on the 23rd of May, however the status on VFS tracking says it is being processed. The visa was approved as seen on my cic account on the the 8th of June.

I only wonder what is taking VFS so long to send me a pickup mail.

Anyways i would be waiting, preparing meanwhile for life in Canada.

Not yet, however I have gotten a status update from CIC with my counterfoil nd number. Have you gotten yours.

Hello,

Would anyone be attending the planning for Canada session at Amber house GRA Ikeja ,Lagos on the 14th of June?

I also would want to join any professional Nigerian immigrant network in Canada, I noticed there are a lot of Asian networks for immigrants but I am yet to see any Nigerian one.

Finally ,the deluge of pre-arrival maerials from different Agencies
SOPA
COSTI
AEIP
ASIEC
JVS
YMCA
ACCESS et al can be overwhelming, but I know it is to make me better prepared.

They say networking is king in Canada, I am already applying for jobs but if you can recommend me for any technical position I would be most grateful.

I am an electrical electronics engineer with a bias in communication, intending to switch to I.T .My experience has been in aviation, communication (installation of radios,VSAT and electronic communication equipment), system administration and I have worked as a maintenance engineer in a FMCG.

So please any job referal would be most welcome, I've to tap into the hidden job market.

Email is lummibod@yahoo.com
Canadian number is +15873326193

Thanks.

Thanks to @newmum who heloed with my job NOC to @jergins for the help at unilag @glitteringstar for silently inspiring and the lady who reached out to help with my sons passport.

God bless us all, and let us keep giving a helping hand.

Off i go to the living in Canada thread.

I had this same issue for over a month till i called Gtb and was told i could not use a naira denominated card to make foreign online payments in naira.

The payment has to be in dollars, so i went to my google payment option and changed my location to America.

This made the app ask for payment in dollars instead of the former naira equivalent.

I was then able to successfully make payment.

Hello friends,

I had earlier posted about my inability to get my son's passport after capturing at Alausa pasport office ,

I once again want to ask for help as the passport is still not ready after over a month, thanks to @oyasalof who helped with a contact.

Please anyone that can help fast track the process should please reply or send a dm as I am told that only people with very senior connections are getting theirs, the time to submit my E-Apr is fast ticking.

Please!!!

Guys I need help with contacts in the passport office at Alausa,Ikeja.

My baby's passport is delaying medicals and submission of the application, this scarcity of passport booklet and laminate is worrying, man did not hustle to get ITA just for the Nigerian immigration service to be acting up.

Please anyone with a contact that can help should pls reply or PM, deadline to submit is approaching.

Thanks @blessing for this. @nat137 calm down and read between the lines.
blessings2017:

Just to correct, medicals is required at the point of submission after ITA . Not after AOR. You're given AOR after submission of the required documents, your medical report inclusive.

Cheers!

Congrats bro, just thought i should chip this in.
I do not intend to be a kill joy but looking at trends even on this nairaland thread, it is obvious that a lot of new express applicants have seemingly above average CRS o(mostly over 440)this tells me that waiting for CRS to drop might not be the best option if you still have other avenues to boost your scores.

I would advice everyone to do the needful and utilise all options to get the maximum score possible if you have less than 440

Don't waste time in visiting unilag for these. My verification took 2+ month till I went to the office that handles it. They actually included my name on the list to be verifi3d instantly. And in less than 4 days. Wes completed.

I av a contact of the woman that actually batch the list for sign off. Mrs Olaiyan... but can't post no here.

Hello house,

Kindly help a brother, UNILAG is yet to respond to my M.sc verification going on 3 weeks now, I need help with a "sure" contact in the records office as I am aware the non-academic staff are on strike.

Urgent help needed as the swathe of people swarming towards the cic Website makes the need to get an ITA as quickly as possible necessary.

My birthday is in a few weeks and I do not want my points to drop. Thanks

Morning all, special greetings to the elders. 40manlappy i prostrate.

I have been a silent ghost reader for just over a month and the wealth of knowledge gleaned from the posts here is truly priceless.

I decided to come out of my cocoon this morning because i am super super excited, i had been in a state of restlessness for the past 13 days after writing my ielts on october 28, i felt i did not do well enough in the very vital listening task (we all know how important that is in this journey).

I got home after the test scouring the internet for discussions and possible test answers, from nairaland, quora, canadavisa, ieltsliz every single place i kept searching. I knew my performance was not up to par with my practice at home where i frequently scored 39 or 40.

The fact that i had to take a 2weeks leave from work to prepare for the exams made me more distraught. Almost everything that could go wrong went wrong, the multimedia system failed for over 15 minutes during the tests and there were a couple of questions i was not certain of the answer, to add to my woes on the day of the exam i went online to see common grammar and spelling mistakes only for me to mis-spell words that i normally use and capitalise every word after a comma. I couldn't understand myself

To cut a long story short i had booked another test this monday waiting to make payment pending when the results would be out. So with trembling fingers an hour ago i went online and behold i aced it.

I feel more than thrilled, it feels like i have received ITA and PPR altogether

Listening 8.5
Reading 9
Writing 7
Speaking 7. 5

Was a little surprised at my speaking because i am quite eloquent although i know i faltered in the first 2minutes of the interview till i gathered myself (No thanks to this darn nerves)

I pray everyone's dream comes true as i see mine crystallise before me. Canada here we come.

Blessings.

Thx for your words, it means alot to me now.

The 1 good thing is that you seem to still have a conscience. I can't tell you to confess or not. whatever your decision you would have to bear the cross of the outcome.

And for women who respect and gullibly follow these pastors and god of men more than their husbands, this is 1 of the results.

Pastors are human and a good percentage of Nigerian pastors are manipulators and subject to different lusts.

The principal thing in life is wisdom.

Loudlumi, congrats to you and your wife.

In my opinion, your wife should apply alone for B2 so you stand as her strong tie being that you av a govt job here. After she's got hers, you can then choose to apply. Your mum will renew via dropbox for B1/B2.

Read back some pages so you know how to prepare your wife for the interview.

All the best in your planning.

Thanks, i have introduced her to this thread and she reads it also. I was actually thinking of applying 1st but would apply after her to help her have a stronger tie .

Morning mums and all,

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has posted their experience and relevant information here, it has literally given me hope and belief. That I also would come here giving account of our successful childbirth application and delivery.

All protocol duly observed, special recognition to Lady G , Justwise....

I have read this thread beginning from part1 and as such i'm here.

To get to my putting up this post, I need clarification and help.

I am married and had wanted to apply for a visit visa later next year for my annual leave, I have been to the Uk, France, and 2 other countries in Europe and Asia. However 2 weeks ago I found out my darling wife I prefer to call her my sunshine was pregnant and so I'm an ecstatic dad to be.

Right now my plans are changing as I am more concerned about giving our child the best we can possibly give and i would like for my wife to give birth in the USA around April/May next year.

however due to funds and the exchange rate I'm considering making a B2 application for my wife separately after I make my own application to increase our chances of being granted. I have a budget of about 10000 dollars for now hopefully things get better before our interview date.

I work in a fairly good paying government parastatal and would be sponsoring my wife who has no travel experience yet. We/She intends staying with family during the period of child birth with family in the US who are US citizens.

My questions are these.
1. What would be the best way to make the visa application for both of us or probably just her?

2. In a situation where I can not go along with my wife, can my mum apply along with her (she has a 2 year visa expiring April next year ) by renewing her visa and stating she wants to accompany her daughter Inlaw for child birth?

3. Any suggestions on making a successful application for my wife , as our aim is to birth in America?

Would be looking forward to hearing from all the wonderful people on this thread.

God bless.
