Buvs,

Just wanna know, is there a possibility of fixing the Strong SRT 4653x remote control (without which one cannot perform any meaningful task with the decoder? Mine slipped and fell from my wife's hand and stopped working. If it can't be repaired, is there the possibility of buying just the remote control? i hope in future Strong Technologies of such happenings.

Good people, lemme jump in on the discussion about newbies and their incessant questions on already treated topics on the forum. May be some may adopt my strategy. I ain’t an fta guru and still consider myself wet behind their ears as my number of posts can attest. But, I do love to read. I pay for connection at home and because my time online is money, I just save the pages of this great forum unto my hard disk (luckily, Nairaland.com is supper lightweight) and take my time to read it at my pace and as such saving myself time and money to go through the many pages of the various seasons. Obviously, nothing comes easy and I would have been goading the gurus of this great forum for information that is being shared in the g – group. But, I want to earn it. I know I have a long way to go and that I’ll only obtain after hitting as many birds in orbit as possible.

Second issue I want to hit is the fact that many are making money from the information gathered from this forum. Here in Yaounde – Cameroon, there are many who distribute fta images through cable as a business and I stand to be corrected that they’re not cashing in on the goodies that is gained from this forum. As for ftb, it is still a novel concept. I am still in the dark on that.

Wanna send a shout out to oga moderator, sir George_D, pito, eni and the rest of them that make this forum a warm and welcome home to us fta addicts.

biggup to all the gurus and fellow members of our prestigious forum. i've been incognito for a long spell now cause the very day my strong decoder srt 4653 got installed, the rain that was falling blew it and no one around yaounde where i live could repair it and my dealer had to travell wit it to lagos where he buys his goods. He's been back with it and it is of course good but when i connected it the transponders were all showing "no or bad signals". so I can't tell if the lnb was also destroyed of if the wind has moved the 90cm dish. I intend getting upon the roof to adjust it but the cloudy rainny conditions asks for me to excercise patience. I pray the lnb is still good. I am yet to mount the 2m pan dish I got 3 months ago since I was waiting for the decoder to be back. I have to first plant the pole upon which I'll mount it and after that s done, I guess I'll send a feed back on what birds I can locate from my position here in Yaounde, Cameroon. Been seeing posts about a channel called CRTV. We also have CRTV here in Cameroon (Cameroon Radio and Television Cooperation) which could be gotten within the Canal sat bouquet. Is this the same crtv that 's beeing discussed here in our fta community?

You gona need a disec switch, 4-in one allows u to have 4-dish on a decoder. It has 5 port one named reciever, others LNB 1 to 4 for plug.in dish.   On a strong decoder, just go to menu then dish settings. Then select the Bird you are tracking and scroll to disec and enable it then specify the port in which you plug in the lnb from d dish.Then save and exit. Same process for the second dish.
It would be better if u'lld go back and read season 1.2.3.
Most of ur question already answered by my OGA'S.
If u still having troubles let all the BOSS in d house knw.
Am out.
@Olofofo, Niddle_9
I am very grateful for the tips. I’ll have to check at electronic stores here in Yaounde for the disEq. I myself don’t know what it looks and will have to rely on the help of the store person.
I’ll get back to you top notches soon as any bird springs up its products.
C u soonest.

Quote: from George D
@lovala,
You need to give us your co-ordinates so we know how to help you better. Nilesat is very much
possible in Yaunde but I doubt if you can achieve it with that 2m dish you're talking about.
As for painting, a good member, BUTONEDAY has already given guidelines on that in an earlier
post. You can use MEYER oil paint. That is the best kind of paint that will give you the best
reflective surface for your dish.
Then for the LNB, no they are not reciever specific. However, the type you use will determine
what results you get. Try and use fuji lnb. It has so far proven to be the best for out-of-footprint
satellites.
@ George D : The geographical coordinates of my location, Yaounde are 3° 52' 0" North, 11° 31' 0" East. Thankx a trillion for the paint type and LNB/f I should use, George D. with this coordinates for Yaounde, will it still be a big hurdle for me to capture Nile Sat or Dubai ONE using the prime focus 2m dish?

Nuff respect,
Lovala.

Please, I have come into possession of a 2m prime focus dish that I would like to use to capture signals from Nile Sat. The dish though is rusty on its receiving side. Here are my questions:
1. If I am to repaint the dish, what type of paint best reflects Radio Frequency?
2. Is it possible to capture Nile sat in Yaounde, Cameroon with such a 2m dish using Strong receiver?
3.            Will this prime focus dish require just any LNB or LNBs receiver specific?
Sincerely Lovala shocked
