Imma get the EU a cape so they can be Super Mad. ![]() |
redsun:African livestock is usually freerange and hormone free. The sedentary lifestyle of Western livestock leads to increased fat content which is where all the disease sits in the body. The hormones are terrible for human consumption which is why superbugs are springing up in western countries. Imagine eating a cow that spent its entire life standing in its own filth until it is slaughtered. That can't be healthy. |

Next Budget Will Give Clear Direction Of Where PMB Is Going – Fashola Former Lagos State governor and minister-designate, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has said that Nigerians will have a clear picture of the direction the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is heading when the next budget is presented. Fashola made this known recently in an interview with the AllAfrica media, in which he affirmed that Nigerians are having very high expectations but would not be disappointed after the next budget. “My sense is that people are waiting to get a clear direction. I am optimistic that the president will begin to show results. The time frame is the challenge: how much more time will Nigerians afford him? Having been a governor before, I know that the first six to nine months are defining. “At the level of national government, which is a behemoth, it takes time to get a grip on it. The president has picked people to assist him, some of whose experience and reputations are quite inspiring. I think when the budget comes out, it will signify a clear direction about what the government will do, where it will be investing energy and resources. I think people will respond accordingly,” he said. The former governor, who reacted to whether Nigerians are still optimistic about the new government, said Nigerians expect rapid results, adding that only results will sustain the hope of the people in the new government. He, however, averred that the 15-month period of the general election has taken its toll on the economy. “I would think so, but human beings being what they are, people expect rapid results. The easiest way to sustain optimism is to continue to show results. It has been a very challenging one and a half years for the country. “We spent a lot of time preparing for elections and, globally, when elections are coming, things generally slow down. Ours took 15 months. The economy has been challenged as a result of that. We need to get back to production and productivity, and people need to see their institutions at work,” he said. Fashola who is billed to receive an international award in New York this week, explained that security and economy would form the policy thrust of the Buhari administration. He noted that dealing with the terrorists is a major challenge because the country’s security apparatuses were trained to deal with conventional opponents rather than the unconventional ones who attack soft targets. “Security is one. The economy is the other. Within the economy, you have components such as infrastructure – transport infrastructure and energy infrastructure in particular. source http://www.leadership.ng/news/470044/next-budget-will-give-clear-direction-of-where-pmb-is-going-fashola |

cremedelacreme:I couldn't have said it better. KWENU! |
I never knew this. Good post op. |
omonnakoda:That makes sense. As I said we are all on the same team. May Kwara generate 125 instead if 12.5. All of the money goes to Nigeria. A better Kwara is a better Enugu just like a better Enugu is a better Kwara. |
Niger gov sends commissioner list to Assembly The long-awaited names of commissioner nominees has been sent to the Niger State House by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for screening. Daily Times findings revealed that the governor gave the names of 15 commissioners to the Speaker late on Thursday evening but the list will not be unveiled until Monday’s sitting of the House. It was also learnt that the 15 nominees were for the 14 ministries as recently rationalized, as well as the State Planning Commission that would be headed by a commissioner, whose statutory position is the Vice-Chairman of the Commission. Abu Lolo is about to get things rolling! NAIJA UP! |
ushafe:These governors have to step it up for us as a country. Nah I can't rock with you on that one. I think Oga in the Villa is just making sure our most valuable resource isn't getting messed off like before. He even has experience in the field. I can put my trust in his integrity. I had my suspicions but seeing some of the turnaround has quelled most if not all of my doubts. Kachikwu is another reason why I trust the sector's new regime. Their no nonsense and transparent approach will make sure our petro development is optimal. |
omonnakoda:I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I'm not one of these people who says terrible things about my Arewa brothers and sisters. I just think our country can be even greater if we would better develop the North. Enugu did better than Kwara but that was never my point. This isn't a competition. WE ARE ON THE SAME TEAM! I'm praying for the day every state generates money like Lagos. The South is being underdeveloped just like the North which alludes to your point of Kwara doing better fiscally than most states. When I saw the amount of mineral wealth in the North and how it dwarfed the south by comparison I got infuriated at the lack of mineral exploration we do. My people are in the North suffering for no reason. Our country should be paradise but our elected officials are lazy and corrupt. I'm glad to see Kwara doing well. Imagine how much better the state will be doing by the time we begin fully utilizing our blessed land. ugnmezi:Exactly. Agric and minerals can completely transform our country's economy. People forget it was the agric money that allowed us to explore for petro. If we get back to our bread and butter we can't be stopped. xakakes:Ohhhhhh! Thank you for clearing that up! That makes too much sense. I wouldn't have put two and two together like that but that explains it. I know traders and other small businesses were pumping out there but that number was too big to ignore. The multinational taxation more than covers the leap in revenue in comparison to other states. I saw that giant dot on the map and jumped back like daaayyyyum! Good looking out fam. |
Sounds like they are about to get the wheels turning on the Green Machine. I can get with this body language. |
FG Plans National School Feed Programme THE Federal Government will soon introduce National School Feeding programme aimed at enhancing and sensitising school enrolment, address poverty, malnutrition and stunted growth. Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Arc. Sonny Echono revealed this at a Press Briefing to commemorate the World Food Day Celebration in Abuja. Echono stressed the need to create business opportunities in the rural areas and stimulate the growth of micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), adding that this would boost the incomes of farmers. The Permanent Secretary said social protection exists, when government develop policies and programmes to address economic, environmental and social vulnerabilities to food insecurity and poverty. According to him, the objective of celebrating World Food Day was to promote effective action to end hunger, malnutrition and poverty. He stated that in 2012, the Federal Government approved vital incentives and subsides to address the challenges affecting farmers, which necessitated the need for a Growth Enhancement Support Scheme (GES) and equally introduced Dry Season Farming, which significantly increased yield and translated into enhanced income to our farmers. The Permanent Secretary assured Nigerians that current agricultural policies would grow the agricultural sector since agriculture is now treated as viable and profitable business enterprises. According to him, the focus on agricultural growth and national food security with the private sector taking the lead in a value chain approach in areas where Nigeria has comparative advantage is a step in the right direction. Echono stressed that focusing on youth and women in agriculture and developing strategic partnership to stimulate investments in a market led agricultural system, would unlock the nation’s potentials, create wealth and lift people out of poverty. He explained that government’s on-going efforts are geared towards ensuring national self-sufficiency in staple foods, resuscitating the Cotton and Textile sector, minimizing post-harvest losses, re-introduction of an effective and efficient extension services delivery system. He emphasised the need to develop the fisheries and livestock sector and the importance of linking farmers to markets and promotion of exports through value addition, standardisation and efficient regulatory controls. He said government is also promoting climate smart agriculture with the use of flood resistant and early maturing seed varieties by adopting and using organic nutrients like fertiliser, provision and use of irrigation facilities and mechanization. source http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/10/fg-plans-national-school-feed-programme/ Slow and steady wins the race! What is going on in the North? All that arable land just sitting? All those minerals just sitting in the ground? Questions need to be asked because these past administrations have been paymasters collected money for nothing. I never knew just how big Lagos was doing it. I see why Fashola has a head of gray hair after 8 years. That's a lot to manage. |
