More often than not, people just have the notion that traditional marriages among the Efik people is expensive even though some people have attempted to differentiate between how it is done in cross river and Akwa Ibom. please anybody with concrete info should help enlighten us (wholesome estimates) about traditional marriage rights among the Efik people of cross river states. If we gauge the intelligence of Nigerians based on comments we read here then I think Nigeria is in trouble. For young and educated people to be too lazy to read a little piece before commenting is really shameful. Let me summarize the write-up for the lazy ones.
1. The police didn't say that it was a lie.
2. The only challenge the police had with his action is that instead of reporting at the nearest police station, he drove straight to his church.
3. People were already waiting for the man at the church before he arrived.
So if you were in his shoes and you had a program for which you were late, would you have opted to go to the police station and follow the long process of giving statements at the station or gone for your program?

" Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has advised the management of a private radio station, Adaba 88.9 FM, in Akure, to ask their ‘oga’ (boss) to construct the road that leads to the station.

The station is a subsidiary of TVC Communications owned by Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor spoke at the dinner and award night to mark the station’s 10th anniversary, held at Bash Event Centre, Akure, on Friday.

Sahara Reporters quoted him as saying: “The moment everybody sees Television Continental (TVC) and Adaba FM, they all know who the parents are, but I will not say more than that.

“So, if we have these two big organisations and we all know who their parents are, it could be a form of Corporate Social Responsibility if they can help them build their road.

“We are not seeing much here in Ondo State, but a lot is being done in many places. The road to TVC in Lagos was built by him. So, you can help us tell your Oga that this road is not too long for him to do in Ondo State. Or am I lying? No. It is not too long for him to construct.

“It would not even take weeks to complete it, because they have all the machinery in Lagos to do it and they will make the road a better one. So, what we can do, we would do; what we cannot do, we would not do. We have a lot of challenges.”

Akeredolu, however, commended the radio station for its contribution to the state.

“Adaba was a child of circumstance and from what we know, it has been a voice for the voiceless in the state. Adaba FM birthed what I would call private radio ownership in the state, because I heard it is the first privately-owned radio station in Ondo State,” he said."

All you need to do is to make the two ceremonies same day.Preferably,the white wedding should be done in the village of the bride or around same town.You can do this in any time of the day,if you guys are catholic better!A priest can fix you guys on any during morning massFirst mass on a Sunday is sweet because the coverage in video will show we'll dressed congregants.


After that proceed to the venue of the traditional wedding.Do your thing.Avoid buying can drinks.Make sure more than 90 are in bottles.Avoid high drinks like Heineken and Guinness,buy in little quantities if you must.

Other cheap brands are Hero,Goldberg,Star,Legend,etc

As a ph guy,where your money should be spent is on drinks.You see this small small liquors dey sell 100 naira is very very important.a carton should be around 3k or less.Like pasa bitters,Baby oku,Erujeje,etc.

Are these problems/challenges insurmountable? What really will it take a serious, honest, people-minded government to provide adequate security and make as many places suitable for business? Clearly the mantra of decentralisation and diversification is just political noise and that is why Nigeria is showing next to no signs of progress.

The fact that only the FG has exclusive power to address these issues remains a major problem. How can the economy be diversified if there is contrived government-approved dependence on just one port with no effort to expand, secure and improve the use of others along the coastal line? If it is to access crude oil for drilling and export they can fight nature and insecurity challenges but on issues that empower citizens directly, it becomes a big deal...such a shame really.

This is clearly not a government issue. Go to the SS and see how these touts harrass oil companies and you will understand why doing business in these areas is difficult. Until there is attitudinal change in the youth of these regions, real development will ever elude them. Just take a look at the rate at which oil companies moved their operational bases to Lagos. This isn't political as some people make it look.
