Buliwyf:There's a difference between plagiarism and adaptation. The guy did the latter. You'd know that if you're a theatre practitioner. Rotimi wanted to Nigerianize a Greek play by one of the greatest dramatists the Greeks have produced.... Sophocles (along with Euripides and Aeschylus). That is allowed in the world of theatre. Soyinka did that with Euripides' play. Other great dramatists have done that. Get a copy of the play, check behind and you'd see that Rotimi has made reference to the original play. P.S: I'm a theatre practitioner |

The first line contains SIMILE because it compares your lying down to that of an old computer using the word 'like' The second line contains PERSONIFICATION because it gives the human attribute of 'hit and blinding' to a sunlight which is non human. The third line contains PERSONIFICATION (TV refused to yield...) And not Simile as stated here because those two things compared are of the same nature.(TV and Television set are the same) NOTE: In the use of Simile, the two things compared must be of different nature. |

I believe you should know that the new set of students that have joined the senior secondary section will be using a new scheme of the subject; Literature-in-English, as the current one expires by 2020? However, the ministry of Education has not posted anything about the new scheme on their website, but it's already out. Please I'm in desperate search for it. If you have, you can let me know. One of the disadvantages of Federalism (Which Nigeria practices) is that there is an excessive control of the Local Government by the state government. Therefore, these above mentioned functions become almost impossible for the Local Govt to achieve. Besides it's constitutional! |
