Jackal i love you cool

I keep saying it, You guys feel you are doing well as long as you are 14 - 10 or what ever points ahead of Arsenal, 2004 you were 3rd, 2005 you were 2nd, 2006 huh

Jackal after Pompey's 2nd goal and with the introduction of adebayor, how many teams were on show from the 50th Minute to the end of the game at the Emirates, why is Football a CRAZY game only when it bites United in the A@@ tongue

You were saying that Arsenal were breaking I, Kituan and other Gooners hearts, well i see how you all have mellowed down, its commendable when reality settles in that one might not be as good as one claims. Jackal; Barca lost over the weekend and their players were gutted not so much at the lost, but at the fact that this was the second time this was happening to them in a cup final and F Rikkard realises that when you let something become a habit, it becomes contagious (the same way we can't stop drawing at Home tongue) A little reality on your part that your squad will not be good enough to last the Marathon would also do you all some good. (well at least you guys are planning to buy over the the Jan window, just imagine how we gooners feel cry embarassed)

Oga B says he is not a fanatic, but Jackal i know that you must have been so pissed off, (leave all this retrospective analysis of how well the boys played for the OPERA!!!), Arsenal played beautiful with 40 minutes to go, but we could only muster a point, we played brilliantly against chelsea but we could only muster a point, United played brilliantly against the Hammers, but they lost and dropped 3 points, the lead is now 2 points, lets see by january what the points ratio is by then.

As long as you are 20 points above Arsenal, i guess its all good, like you say "the League table doesn't lie!!" wink

I will just be quiet and watch what happens at the end of the day.

Jackal i am talking Bollocks grin grin anyway what i love about you is the fact that eventually you will always call a spade a spade, cause a Fan(atic) can't help but be real and say when "S@*t is S@*T " so i will leave the cussing of your team at the end of the season to you grin

Enjoy the xmas fixtures and lets all hope for the best, i will keep mum on the United Board till January grin "pls God no more freak results!!! cause One United chaps have all started to go all Defensive on us all"

Oga Wormy please do not predict for us again oh!! cry I will run away from your predictions like i avoid Tunde Bakare's predictions grin

Anyway the real test starts now as we face the Xmas rush and home stretch, Good luck to all teams, May will show where we all have come and where we are heading to cool

4 Play cool,

Now you don't finish below the top 3 huh, wow thats an achievement. I guess being better than Arsenal is a way of compensation for you guys at the end of the season (We Gooners do the same thing with Spurs, so its common, Pool are happy when they finish above Everton, so 4 Play you are not saying anything new there!!)

Like i said no biggy, I accept the lose was a freak result, Thank God we beat you guys, or else we Gooners would have not rested with you pointing that out anytime one of us has an opinion on your team, just enjoy the xmas fixture and pray for less freak results

By May if all you are left with is the fact that you finished 20 points ahead of Arsenal so it must be a good season!! Then we are happy in advance for you all!! cool

OGA B cool

Who is runnig shocked, every body is proud of their squad, so did West Ham play any different than how they played against arsenal huh where they won 1 nil. BOLA no team plays to lose, Everton were 2-1 up agaisnt the blues but Chelsea won, thats footie, we drew and you all came on the gooner board to make stupid comments ( please just pop in and read what some of your Man United colleagues were saying on Sat, feeling that sunday was a forgone conclusion tongue)

The point Bola, is that i am not expecting you to dump your team or to feel less proud of your boys even if you do not win the Prem. even if Arsenal were relegated i would still be a GOONER ( i supported the club under and under Bruce Rioach, so whether under Wenger or not i am still a GOONER)

I did say we are all heading in the right direction, with just a few adjustments needed, but Oga Bola its nice to look back in retrospect and say how you are proud of your boys win or lose, but be honest and say that it hurt to lose to West ham, cause believe me Not even Loyal hammers would have expexted to Draw talkless of win that game. But what happened. Like i say, when we lose to the same team, its Arsenal are this and arsenal are that, but when you lose, its "a Freak result" well guess " Celtic, FC Copenhagen , and Southend are freak results as well".

Well i hope you guys underestimate Lille as well, so we can come back here in March and join you all to say how proud we are of your boys; wink

http://football.guardian.co.uk/championsleague200607/story/0,,1974055,00.html

what makes us all laugh Bola, is the fact that Gunners know that our team are not reaching the Heights they are capable off cry, and we accept the laspes evident in our team (even the Chelsea folks still feel their team has not got into the grove), but you United guys keep letting us know you are playing the best footie, yet even with that the season might end in heart break for you, bola you of all folks should realise that its not the begining of something that matters but the end, (look at the Politics in the country, could anyone really claim he saw this scenario coming to pass huh) we said the league was a "Marathon", we were slated, we said that "footie depends on the day", we were slated, anyway, you all should deny the fact that your squad won't be good enough to last the race, and concentrate on LOYIKA!! and other esteemed Gooners on NL, If that soothes the pain then ENJOY Maties cool

Even with the additions In january, No team can compete right now with the squad the Blues have at their disposal, and that is the Key right now to winning the Prem, cause even Jackal accepted that the bench was a problem.

Anyway B, like i said " No Gooner is running, we are still here!!!"

Remember i said i would recite "Your Not singing Anymore!!" by the end of the season in May. Well i can't wait for May, maybe by January i will start early renditions grin.

Abeg guy just enjoy your xmas  cool I will just keep quiet and watch what happens (more importantly i will watch you ONE United Chaps cool )

Wormy cool

You said 1-1, so you got the draw right, but the scoreline was wrong, don't miss out on that part grin, besides read one of my posts on "DRAWTILITIES" grin

Oga Wole, how is a draw luck huh Chelsea came back from 2-1 to win, Man United lost, we drew, so how is that luck, a game of football is 90 mins + extra time, the game does not end after a goal has been scored.  tongue

Anyway guys we droped 2 points due to Wenger's madness, i for one would like him to be banned to the stand for 3 games so he would see what the fans see. He needs a holiday, and should quickly take one, let pat rice handle the squad over Xmas, cause Prof has forgotten his balls at home angry

Here;

Arsenal 2 Portsmouth 2 just isn't good enough, I'm afraid
By Myles Palmer

ARSENAL are  not good enough to rest Adebayor.

The attack isn't good enough, the defence isn't good enough, the midfield isn't good enough, and the partnerships aren't good enough.

If something's happening in your team (and you always hope something is happening), go with it. Don't bench it. Don't snuff it out.

By the time Adebayor, the man of the moment, came on, Arsenal were 2-0 down. He soon scored. Then he had a hand in the equaliser by Gilberto. His impact was immediate and huge

But both goals were assists by Walcott on the right flank. And Walcott came on for Ljungberg , who did a hamstring, a bad blow for Arsemal after only five minutes.

ARSENE WENGER apparently believes that all the best athletes come from the same gene pool in West Africa, which was dispersed by the slave trade.

Believing that, he  inexplicably "rests" an in-form young powerhouse from Togo in order to start the lightweight Aliadiere, who was pitiful. He was hopeless. To say Aliadiere was anonymous is to exaggerate. He wasn't that good.

Picking Aliadiere was the worst selection decision since Song came in for Fabregas at Fulham, where Arsenal lost 2-1. You can't drop a player as good as Fabregas and replace him with a player as bad as Song. And you can't drop a striker as powerful as Adebayor and replace him with one as feeble as Aliadiere.

Arsenal 2 Portsmouth 2 huh?

They needed  a win. But the manager picked the wrong team. A shame, but they all do it.

But what a ball from Walcott for Adebayor's goal ! What a ball that was ! He raced onto Hleb's pass inside the left back, looked up, and measured a very inviting low cross which gave his centre forward a great chance from ten yards. Cafu could not have done it better.

Then Walcott hooked back an awkward ball on the right side, first time, and Gilberto, anticipating beautifully, started to move for the chance before it was a chance, before the ball even started to go there, and hit his shot low into the far side of the goal.

In the photos Gilberto's body position was textbook, well balanced, leaning forward, head down, just like Pele. If he had not anticipated so well, Gilberto could have never have got there in time to shoot correctly.

Great goal, skipper. You are giving this team a lot at a time when it needs a lot.

At the moment Arsenal's league campaign is not being interrupted by internationals or Champions League games but they are still struggling. They have drawn three of their last four games in all competitions.

The manager says we ain't buying in january, and just hear this shocked that we will be selling huh shocked, Well if its to sell Song and Alierdre Then i am all for it, As much as i like Eboue, Lauren should please be put back in the squad, and for CHRISTSAKES why rest Baptista, has he played anything whatwhile, Thank God Freddie is out, at least Theo can get a good run out. The Manager is solely to blame for our position on the table and for us not being in contention, he has a good squad but his team selection and rotation policy are s"*t!! He only should take the blame, cause the buck stops with him.

I would suggest we let Nuhu Ribadu do some checks on him, cause the board keep saying they have money available for him, ok if he is not spending it on players, where is the money huh What is he spending on huh Why is he so stingy huh huh huh

stop being a major C*"T Wenger!!! Thank God the fans booed the team, more of that cool We should not settle for rubbish even if its from the Gaffer tongue

What you United guys do not seem to understand is the notion that it would be a bigger disgrace if you guys do not win this Prem with all the noise you have been making. Arsenal are not expected to do anything, so we are basically living up to what you all have been expecting, But i will just say, the end will justify things, cause apart from the Prem we are still within shout of 3 more Trophies. You guys are out of The Milk Cup, so you have 3 to contend with.

When you lose, you decieve yourselves that its a freak result, well get prepared for more freak results. No one can stand Chelsea with their financial strenght (did any one watch the Bloomberg Documentry/Programme on Foreign take over of Prem clubs, and discussion of Chelsea's financial situation and how it affects World Club footie!! Quite scary sad)

But the fact that with all the noise, Chelsea WILL still be Prem Champs by the end of the season, only goes to show that as much as clubs are going in the right direction (even Man United) we are still a long way from the depth of resources Chelsea can muster both at home and in Europe.

One thing about life thats funny, it shows you that anything can happen like i always say "footie is about the day" did we not see Barca with all their beautiful footie lose a second trophy to Inter of Brasil grin(after their loss to sevilla), so guys its the day that counts, nothing else.

You are top of the table, but the question you guys should honestly ask yourselves is, do you have the squad to out pace Chelsea huh, remember its a MARATHON, Lets all just shut up and enjoy the footie wink.

PoliticsRe: Press Release: Gov. Donald Duke Withdraws From The Presidential Race by loyika(m): 2:36pm On Dec 16, 2006
Some times it amazes me when Intellectuals discuss like children huh, Generally i don't really like discussing POLITICS (which is quite strange since i am a Pol sci Graduate huh) cause of its dirty nature be it Nigeria; africa and the world. Its all the same thrash tongue.

But we all act in Nigeria as if we can not read the writings on the wall, and look so surprised at events, Nigeria's case always reminds me of what a certain Prof always use to warn us about as students, he said we should never take politics at face value and always read btw the lines, its only by doing that will one find the true answer to what you are looking for!!

1, Everyone needs to realise that all these happenings are at the instance of our President OBJ; who is trying to kill many birds with one stone.

A, Yaradua is a means to finally kill off Atiku's chances, as definately Atiku's claim to the PDM machinery has just been wrenched from under him, so he really has no foundation to stand on, even if he choses to run under a different platform.

B. OBJ/PDP had to zone this thing back to the north as a means to control the way the elections were heading, with ANPP/AC getting ready to pick a Northern candidate, it would have made the battle a fight btw the North/South divide, and believe me the South wouldn't have won, cause all the Northern cadidate had to do was pick a South Eastern VP and that would have changed the scale of the balance to favour the opposition, cause even if PDP had picked a Northern VP, (which of those estemmed northern aspirants would have wanted to be VP huh) they would not have carried the day.

Basically Duke did the right thing, since it is quite clear that he respects the President, and so if the President asks him to step down, his obedience will only make way for him to be compensated with the VP slot, which in the longrun keeps him in power and makes room for him to become President when power comes back to the south in about 8 years time shocked. My friends patience is a true virtue, the children of Isreal had to be sent on a merry go round in the sinai dessert for 40 years before God let them enter the Promised land, so lets just ride it out. Remember it would have been impossible to pick Duke as the VP if he had run for the ticket and lost, cause it would not be ethical to pick a fellow opponent as a running mate.

The important thing is for us to have a successful Civilian to Civilian transition, and for democracy to be the norm rather than the exception. Pray tell how many years did it take for an Irish american to become president in america huh, as they say Rome wasn't built in a day.

As for the zoning principle, please people live with it, nigeria wass formed with the amalgamation of different zones, and so that will be the only way for power to really be shared in a country the dances btw true federalism and semi federalism that the country practices. (There is no need to really expansiate on this zoning principle stuff, cause its quite boring tongue)

As far as i am concerned Yaradua is an ok candidate, and since OBJ has used his will power to save us from IBB and others like a certain south south candidate, who was professing to be a saviour (part 2), not forgeting Atiku tongue We should just pray that Duke is picked as the VP,  and we will eventual get our desire, God keeping us healthy to see that day. We need to weed out the present political class, and its happening (slowly but surely)

As for the issue of Okotie huh, all i can say is that even in Biblical times, God never ususally picked a Prophet to be king, cause he knew that this would cause a conflict of interest, so why now would Nigeria pick okotie as president, even in america, many Christian of the right didn't even vote for Pat Roberston when he ran for President some time back, all they do is vote for individuals that have a strong religious background, not someone that is the religious background wink. doesn't work that way, and never will. Do you see any Rabbi being voted Prime minister in Isreal, Look at Haiti under a so called "Father" Aristide, what happened under his regieme huh This okotie issue as far as i am concerned is a no brainer!!! tongue

Oh well let me get back to the footie forum cool all this talk of zonings, Dukes and God anointed leaders is really doing my head in huh

"Ferguson is certain that his team will stay the course. They will start by ignoring Jose Mourinho's attempt at distraction following Sunday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal, when he said United "would be in trouble" if they thought the league was won.
"We will only be in trouble if we listen to Jose too much," said Ferguson."

And who the hell are you angry angry

Listen Mr Lekki Peninsula, i will be very candid with you, Stop this Bullsh@# when you come on a forum, there are usually laid down rules of engagement. It is advisable that as a new member you look at the trend of how things happen here before you get keyboard happy.

NL members are trying their best to make the forum as lively and entertaining as possible, but in an organised comprehensive manner.

Now if every A hole came on board and started a new thread everytime they had a hard on, this place would be thrash. angry

No one has a problem with your opinions and there are no restrictions on what you can or cannot say on the board (i am not the moderator). But please stop embarrashing yourself with this attitude of your, take time and notice that there are ready made threads for you to post whatever you like. Waking up in the morning and starting a nonsensical thread is not only annoying but is an insult to every other member.

Mr Lekki cool, please try and follow what you see here, so that we can all gain from your knowledge, or lack of it as the case maybe. You are welcomed to the NL sports section (I am only doing this because you are a fellow GOONER embarassed) But please grow up, and quickly to!!, before that welcome is revoked by all members on the board. angry

@ Jackal and co

You all make me laugh. firstly you know this thread was started off by either someone wanting to start trouble on NL (as most of you guys are into the multiple id stuff), or by a new member who hasn't taken time to see the trend of stuff hear, but is doing an OBJ (talking before thinking) on us.

Instaed of correcting the poor bloke, you all humour yourselves by replying him or posting in the thread. If he believes Maureen will be wiping Arsene's ass after sunday, then so be it. This is not the place to discuss this, and you elders of NL should have enough sense to carryon on this thread as if it will buttress your points or biases for or against both teams.

Jackal enjoy your derby, lets see how you do against the true manchester club (as they say if it ain't Panadol, grin)

Pls fellow NL Gooners, don't waste any time posting in this nonsensical thread, even if it was started by Wenger's long lost son undecided embarassed embarassed embarassed

LOCK DOWN THIS THREAD NOW angry angry

Will give my opinions on the game with the russians on saturday, but what i will say for now is that i am not feeling this game huh I have this uneasy feeling, maybe its the friday blues, but i have not felt like this about an Arsenal fixture in a while. Maybe watching highlights like this makes me wish for the past;

http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?thisNav=News&article=433764&lid=NewsHeadline&Title=FREE+VIDEO+CLIP+-+The+ATVO+Friday+Goal

Notice the squad; Cole, Pires, Bergkamp, Viera, Edu All gone cry cry

Now we don't even have Henry, Gallas, Rosicky, Lauren, Kolo cry cry

I am not really looking forward to sunday, cause the squad is an excuse waiting to happen. This is one of those games where anything crazy can happen (afterall we went to Scum land and pulled off a terrific result)

Maybe i will feel confident as the game approaches, but i have butterflies in my tummy just thinking about the game.

Maybe if Wenger chose this midfield i would feel much better

Hleb Fabregas Gilberto Wallcot

Do we need the Beast in this huh, i think we need speed of game and thought to trouble lamps, maka, M Bollocks and the biscen.

However i think Le Prof will prefer experience and play Lungberg. FFS don't be too cautious and play the Flamster in midfield tongue.

Defence should be Eboue cry Johan D, Senderos cry Clicy

Then attack would be RVP and Ade, but that depends on Wenger adopting a real 4-4-2 formation (what do we have to lose) But i think he will do the 4-5-1 and wait till half time, or we concede before he tinkers with formations.

Please Wenger give theo a chance against tweedy, i believe he will eat him raw

Anyways will look at our realistic chances better tomorrow

Have a lovely weekend my fellow Gooners cool

Jackal: YOU LOST TO FC COPENHAGEN Dude what are you saying.

Arsenal toped our group, even if its by Goal difference. You keep saying Arsenal is this and that, but thank God your coach and others recognisethat this Arsenal team are class waiting to be unleashed. Maureen might not like Arsene Wenger, but he never fails to mention Arsenal as a top team that can give them problems.

Jackal we beat you at home/ So your team must be rubbish to have been beaten by a rubbish team. You are top of the league table, lets see where you are by the end of the season.

We lost Henry, Gallas, Rosicky and some other players. Manscum lose Rooney, Vidic or either giggs or carrick, will they be the same. Buty like Kit says, you all tend to be unrealistic all the time, and shift the goal post when ever it suits you.

Oh well the end will determine everything, then we will see who is class and who is rubbish. cool

"Sunday will be an enormously important match for us," said Michael Ballack of the Arsenal match. "You only have to look at the league table."

The German midfielder draws comfort from the extra day's rest afforded Chelsea, who were at home in their Champions League match while Arsenal had to travel back from Oporto. Nevertheless, he does not underestimate last season's Champions League finalists.

"I'm a little surprised they are that far behind in the league in terms of points so early on," he said. "Last year they were in the Champions League final and they have a young and very good team. At times they've failed to pick up the points and lacked a bit of consistency. But when they come up against the big teams, they show their class. We need to be careful."
